stayed at Cocobay Resort from Friday to Monday as a solo female traveler, and this place truly exceeded my expectations. The staff here were absolutely amazing — warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. The views are breathtaking, and the entire property feels like a peaceful escape. A few people deserve special recognition: • Nikita at the spa — so sweet and calming. • Lorenzo, the best bartender on the property. His drinks are consistently good and he has such a great energy. • Sasha from the café, always welcoming. Oh and Danny (not a hotel staff but he is the jet ski guy (took me to on a tour of the different beaches and showed me sleeping Indian). But above all, I want to highlight Christoph, who I believe is one of the managers. His kindness had a real impact on my stay. I went to get lunch in my one piece suit without a cover up one afternoon and realized I had left my towel down at the beach. My room was all the way up the hill, and I was starving. One of the ladies tried turning me away and Instead of turning me away, he let me sit in a corner in my bathing suit and enjoy my meal. It was such a small gesture, but it meant everything , especially traveling alone. Honestly, that moment is the reason I’m finally writing this review. It stuck with me. If I ever return to Cocobay, it will be because of that act of kindness. My room had a private pool, and trust me it was well used. The entire experience was worth the trip, and I felt safe, cared for, and welcomed the whole time Read less

We had a garden cottage (51) very nice, clean and good a/c. The views all Around the resort were a real pleasure. Always something to see. We spent a lot of time at the top infinity pool. We would walk every morning along the two beaches (Ffryes) we also walked to Valley Church beach. Both really lovely. We enjoyed the food and never had a bad meal. We had a car to explore for three days. The island is easy to get around. We explored lots of beaches on the west coastline. Shirley Heights, walked down Market Street St John’s on a busy Saturday morning. Felt very safe at all times. The biggest asset Cocobay has is the staff. All of them are friendly & attentive. Totally enjoyed this holiday and would love to return. Read less

We stayed for 14 days in July-August 2026, having priviously stayed at Cocobay in 2022. Overall a great holiday, but service has declined significantly in two areas since we stayed before. Food was excellent thoughout our stay, and we took the opportunity to thank the Head Chef in person for the consistently high quality of meals provided, which were better than one might expect at an all-inclusive. Service at the restaurant was fabulous throughout the stay with a great team of friendly staff. The bar staff were kind and efficient during all shifts. Friendly service from the coffee shop was superb. This end of the resort is really well run and is highly commended. We found our cottage to be rustic, but well cleaned and kept in good order. We knew what we would be getting and had a different sea view this time (no 29) compared to before (no 41). The inside tended to get very hot in the afternoon and early evening facing the sun, but the AC cooled it down efficiently. Two concerns mean the loss of at least one star this visit. Watersports equipment was not checked or maintained as well as on our previous visit. My wife took a paddleboard out and it sank about 100 m off shore, hitting her on the head as it flipped up and sank. I had to swim out to help her and get it out of the sea. On retrieving it i found that it had filled with water as a result of a missing seal plug. I was able to drain it and get it out of the water on the beach. We were offered a doctor call to check my wife over but she was OK bar a nasty bump on the forehead. Watersports equipment was not available and was left locked when the one member of staff was on a day off. On asking at reception we were told they'd hoped to keep watersports closed. The second area where service has declined is on reception. We found staff disinterested at best, and on occasions rude, There was no follow up of my wife's accident. Staff seem to have been replaced by younger less-experienced members who know very little and unprepared to find information for us. One morning I asked to change a 100EC note for bus fares and tips. I was told to come back after 1pm when the manager would be on duty. I called back, reception could not change it, and I was abruptly told to "put it on a card". Bus drivers don't take cards in Antigua! Overall this is a good place to stay. Most staff are extremely friendly, particularly including ground and security staff who were great. Management is not in evidence here, unlike other resorts we've stayed in and some areas have declined, perhaps as a result. Read less
