Paradise awaits at Constance Moofushi… and it delivers, time after time. We’ve recently returned from our fifth amazing visit to this beautiful resort, and as our favourite holiday destination, it is the Moofushi team which make the holiday a wonderful experience. From the moment you arrive and kick off your shoes, you are greeted as an old friend by every member of the Moofushi team. It was a pleasure to meet Bertrand, the GM and catch up once again with Luthi, the Executive Assistant Manager. From the front of house team, Food and Beverage and housekeeping, heart of house and gardening team, you see a ‘family’ of Constance staff working seamlessly together, providing you with exquisite service and attention to detail. If you like wine, you cannot go wrong with over 125 different wines on the all inclusive list. The exceptional team of wine sommeliers delight in getting to know your wine palette and making suggestions to pair with your meals, some of which you may never have thought of yourself. We called this a happy experiment, letting Madu and his team select wines for us and we were pleasantly surprised with every single choice. With an ethos of “drink the wine, not the label”, entrust the team to surprise and delight you with their selection. The restaurant and bar team will delight you with the selection of food and drink, and surprise you with your favourite meal. Nothing is too much trouble from Hassan, the F&B manager, and Mohan, the executive chef. The food is absolutely delicious and honestly, the choice is unbelievable when you consider you are on a small island… from salad leaves, to milk; from ice-cream to cheese, we’ve never experienced such a selection, every day, as to what is laid out in the Manta Restaurant at Moofushi. Kudos to the F&B team - it is an exceptional experience. The island is beautiful, with pure white sand and crystal clear warm water. The snorkelling reefs are close to the shore, so you can easily get to see the most amazing fish and see animals, including turtles. If you imagine a paradise, you will not be disappointed at Constance Moofushi. Don’t pack shoes, because you simply don’t need them on the island… just let the sand warm your feet. We return to this island because of the amazing team who make this holiday a special place for us. Many of the team reside on the island all year, with some returning to their homes once a year, and there is a warmth and always a smile, from whoever you see. We had the most fabulous return visit to Moofushi. It was great to meet the new GM who is continuing to oversee the excellent standards of hospitality we know and love. As always the welcome is outstanding and the service from all the team exceptional. It’s hard to name individuals because the team are all so special but Gopal & Ricky provide a super experience in the two bars along with their talented bar tenders and servers. The fabulous wine brings us back time and time again and Madhu and the sommeliers do a fabulous job - they are all outstanding. In the spa the team are so welcoming and we enjoyed treatments from Peldon, Chencho and Anna which were exceptional - as well as enjoying the classes with Chencha and Eddy. The sound healing sessions especially were really special. From the moment we arrived to when we left we couldn’t have asked for more. The staff are so friendly with Mervin (General Manager) going above and beyond to make the stay as enjoyable / relaxing as possible. The food was outstanding and with our 10 month old daughter we were offered a private chef to provide fresh meals daily. We stayed for 14 nights and although it was rainy season, we just experienced a small downfall of rain overnight. We have recently returned from our third holiday in Constance Moofushi and are in the process of booking for next year. Previously, we visited in February, peak season, so we were taking a bit of a risk with the weather in May. However, it only rained most of the day for 2 days out of 21 . The rest of the time the weather was lovely. Snorkelling was excellent too, as good as I've experienced it. It's also quieter and you can get a better price in May. We were recommended Moofushi by Tropic Breeze, an independent travel agency based in Plymouth. We wouldn't go anywhere else in the Maldives. Here's why: Moofushi is an absolutely beautiful island with a stunning house reef and wide, soft sandy beaches. The garden grounds are beautiful too and very well tended. This resort combines 5 star luxury with a rustic, laid back, no shoes, no news vibe. Wisely, there are no motorised water sports or buggies going back and forth with room service which helps preserve the peaceful atmosphere. Accommodation is in beach villas or sand and over water bungalows. We always choose a beach villa because we like our own little patch of beach surrounded by vegetation just a few feet in front of the sea. The room is serviced twice daily and includes a mini bar with snacks and drinks, replenished every day. If there's something you don't like, just say and they will change it for you. Children are welcome but there's no kids' club. Food and beverages are top notch. There is one main buffet restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, an a la carte lunch restaurant and an a la carte evening restaurant (1 dinner per 6 night stay is included) and two bars. Service is exemplary and there is plenty of choice. However, if you want something in particular, just ask. They will go out of their way to accommodate you if they can. Drinks are of excellent quality and there are around 125 wines on the All Inclusive! We never looked at a wine list, we always asked for a recommendation from the skilled team of sommeliers and enjoyed delicious wines throughout our stay. There are many complimentary activities, including water sports, boat excursions and daily morning yoga or gym classes. If you opt for payable extras, be aware of the ++add ons. Care for the environment and sustainability are priorities. The resident marine biologist and members of the dive centre regularly give presentations on reef awareness and wildlife and if you go on the back of the house tour, you will learn so much about the hard work that goes into looking after the resort, its guests and staff. Last but not least, the staff, the jewels in Moofushi's crown, whether it's those you see daily in the bars, restaurants, housekeeping, gardens, etc, and those back of house, without whom the resort just wouldn't function as well as it does. From the moment you clear customs at the airport to departure, you are pampered. Thank you so much to all of you, for treating us like family and making our holiday special. Members of the management team are a regular presence chatting with guests and ensuring that "everything is ok?" The new General Manager, Bertrand Blanchett, has been in post just a few months but has made a tremendous impact on guests and staff alike. He combines professionalism with vision, friendliness, good humour, humility and approachability. He is an asset to the Constance brand. A few words about moans. The seaplane is warm, yes, so that's why there are two fans in the cabin. Just ask for them to be switched on if the pilots have forgotten. Ignore "Mary's" photos of rubbish piled up against rocks, those are not of Moofushi! And anyone can put an empty snack packet on a patch of sand and take a photo. Moofushi is kept spotless! This was our 4th time at Moofushi and it didn't disappoint us. It really is paradise. The island is beautiful, however the staff are what makes this island so special and that is why we keep going back, we have made some special friends over the years. The food is outstanding, something for everyone, the homemade ice-cream made by Pryantha and his team is amazing. The wine selection is extensive and the someliers are very knowledgeable, Jeff, Koko, Aimi and Geeth. We are not divers but love the snorkeling at Moofushi, the reef is great. It's definitely a no shoes resort, maybe a pair of trainers if you want to use the gym. It was quite quiet when we were there, mainly because of a lot of flights not being able to leave from Dubai, however we have been when it's been full and you still get the same tranquility. It's difficult to single out members of staff because they are all fantastic, a special mention has to go to the following, Binju, Luthi Hishan, Naas, James, Naaja, Pryantha, Yogi, Inaas, Yaabe and Ricky, also a special mention to Rada, the coconut man, he brought us a fresh coconut everyday. If you are considering this island, just book it, you won't be disappointed. We will definitely be returning. Read less
