Lovely stay Great staff - very friendly and helpful. Entertainment staff in particular were great with the children. Good food at the restaurants (Oceania - sea food and El Patio - Mexican were particularly good) - excellent facilities. Really nice rooms with amenities. Would recommend

Went with family. First off, staff are brilliant, can’t do enough for you. The likes of Lorenzo and Itzacaya in entertainment are great with kids. Restaurants good - food is nice, tasty with plenty of vegetables and fruit. Rooms excellent - comfortable bed, very clean and lots of space. Would recommend.

This is a somewhat generous rating of 4 because I think this resort is good for some families, probably with younger kids who would enjoy the swimming pools. Our family has much older teens and young adults and for our group the resort is just too small with limited activity for that age group. Our visit timing was terrible with respect to the seaweed. In spite of laborious efforts to keep it cleaned up, the beach was not useable and the smell unpleasant. This is certainly not the fault of the resort but is an issue to consider nonetheless. The rooms are very nice and spacious. We booked preferred club rooms and appreciated access to the preferred club lounge drinks and food (not a large area but better than adequate) and access to the preferred club pool. Big thanks to Roberto and Erick at the preferred club pool and Amado and Jazi at the preferred club lounge for great service. Food here was just ok with highlights being the tacos and quesadillas and Portofino and lowlight being the pizza. Just our opinion. Restaurant service tended to be very good. We will not likely return simply because we prefer slightly larger resorts with a bit more variety. We know other people who will absolutely return so it is a matter of preference for resort size and variety of activities and food options. Read less

Just returned from our honeymoon. The hotel was simply beautiful. Staff couldn’t do enough for you. They were amazing. The hotel was clean and staff were invested in ensuring everyone was looked after. They were clearly assigned their jobs and knew exactly what was expected of them. If you were a cleaner, you cleaned and you did it to the max. We had a swim up room and the pool guy was excellent in keeping it clean for us. Chatting as he went giving us tips on where to go and what to eat and drink. A couple of things not so good which is why I’ve not given a 5/5…… restaurants tended to alternate in being closed, not sure if this was due to the hotel not being at full capacity or if it’s the norm. It meant some nights there was limited choice where to eat and it would have been better if they had closed just one per night and not more than this. That said the food standard was excellent in all of them with the sushi and the Italian being our favourite. Entertainment in the evening wasn’t great either. The Divas were fab as was the light show that replaced the fire show and the circus show and the karoake however they weren’t long enough and by 9pm you were kicking around the hotel with nothing really to do. We took a few walks to the marina close by which had bars and souvenir shops and dolphins (!) but after doing this twice it was a bit boring and you needed an hour taxi drive to get to the main cities. If you’ve got kids or happy to be sat in a bar every night then this is ideal place but if you want to party or see lots of different things then not so good. We were happy but did get a bit of cabin fever by the end. Though there are trips out available and we did do this but only once. We went to coco bongo which was amazing. The only other thing is the seaweed. It’s a natural thing and can’t be helped and people worked tirelessly 24/7 to keep the impact minimal but it meant the sea wasn’t accessible. It wasn’t a huge problem for us but would've been lovely to have had those clear sea white sand experiences you see and if you want that you need to avoid certain months. The smell was also unpleasant at times. All that said though the hotel staff, facilities, food, cleanliness and rooms far outweighed the not so good bit and I would recommend this place if you wanted a slightly quieter holiday with excellent facilities and food. Room service was excellent, the food quality was amazing and it was all part of the package, so no additional charge!! I would fully recommend a swim up room if you can get it. Having that, particularly with the seaweed limiting the sea access made it for us. We would return but maybe a different time of year and go armed with plans for more trips out. Read less
