The hotel

Experience the two sides of Cancun in one luxurious hotel — the beauty of the beach and the life and soul of Mexico’s ultimate party mecca. Along a private sweep of sands, tiered lagoons spill down the centre of Dreams Playa Mujeres, with three main pools, a children’s pool and six hot tubs, a waterpark, and a mini-splash park... all making this the definitive aqua paradise. Relaxation also comes in the form of the adventures of the kids’ and teens’ clubs, and the indulgence of 10 restaurants, with 24-hour dining on the table. But this is Cancun, so the party’s never far. The fun of downtown’s approximately an hour away and, before you head out, you’ve got 13 bars and lounges to sip at, and live entertainment from stage shows to beach parties.

I had to have maintenance come to fix my toilet times and they were painting the room above and it smelled like paint thinner. However, the food was amazing. The service was awesome. I would especially like to recognize the superior service of both Juan who brought my luggage to and from the room and every time he saw us made us feel special helped us with any questions or concerns. I would also like to recognize Luiz at the swim bar. He made a special connection with all of the kids and always made the best drinks. All the staff was extremely friendly and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcomed the shows were good. I wish there was adifferent one on our last day. All in all, I would recommend this hotel and I would definitely come stay here again. Read less

This was our first time at Dreams Hotel and this place did not disappoint! We traveled as a family with one child age 10. The front desk employees greeted us with a smile and were very welcoming. The junior suite room was pretty large for a junior suite room & we had plenty of room. It was impeccably clean. Our room was a pool view room which was totally fine. The hotel grounds were very clean and maintained extremely well. The breakfast was your traditional resort breakfast. The breakfast food was great! Lunch at Tides (pool side restaurant ) was excellent too! Never really waited for a table. The restaurants that we visited for dinner did not disappoint either. Our favorite was the Brazilian restaurant- the meat selection was cooked to perfection. The restaurant staff were great! Every waiter/ waitress was always smiling and always happy to get us drinks and more food. No matter what restaurant we went to, the wait staff was always happy to get my son chicken tenders and fries- even if the restaurant did not have that on their menu. The ice cream shop was a hit with my son (and us too ). Endless ice cream and the lattes were always how we ended the evening. The game room was great for the kids. The game room was good for a sun break for my son. It was pretty easy to get a chair at any one of the pools. The pool water was a bit warm but that was only because of the sun. The bartenders & waiters / waitresses at the pool were also very friendly. We would definitely come back to Dreams Playa Mujeres as well as other Dreams locations. Read less

I was debating between Hyatt Ziva and Dreams Playa Mujeres. I stayed at Hyatt Ziva several times and elected to book a new hotel. If you’re debating between these two, please go with Hyatt Ziva over Dreams Playa Mujeres. Playa Mujeres is outdated and the level of detail all over the hotel is just not there. Every time there was an event outside, they left food, uncovered, and flies were all over it. I found a piece of glass in my salsa at the Mari’s restaurant. The Maris server was in front of me when I found it so they could not deny it. Overall, the hotel is very outdated. In order to make it right they offered me a reservation at an outside buffet for dinner. I wasn’t expecting a free stay, but to think that was how they wanted to fix it for me felt cheap. There were some good things about it. The waterslides for kids were great and my kids did not notice a difference because they had a good time, but I expected more from Hyatt. Restaurant Signs were missing letters. “poo bar instead of Pool Bar” The grotto bar has missing tiles on it, exposing the cement and the adhesive. Cracks and separation in all the pools. Read less
