Having a side gig for Traveling on Points we had a goal of trying out an AI in Mexico and landed with this Dreams Resort and glad we did. Stayed for one week with my family of four - kids were 11 and 13 yrs boys - in a Pref. Oceanfront Jr. Suite room. Currently Hyatt Globalist. From checkin to checkout the entire staff was delightful and so helpful. Alberto was our main concierge and he was amazing. Within mins of checking into breakfast on our first day (got in late at night the evening before) he came to great us and give us the rundown of the place, including how best to navigate the dinner options, drawing our attention to the days certain restaurants were open/closed, and set us up with an Bali Bed by the ocean. At the end of that day he checked in with us to see what our plans were for the next day and to let us know it was his day off, but that his coworker Alfredo would be helping out. He was just as hardworking as Alberto and the two of them work great together. They are there bright and early in the morning helping their pref. guest secure Bali Beds by the pool or ocean and later helping with dinner. We also got to work occasionally with Roberto and were impressed with him too. You can't go wrong with that team, but I know we hit the jackpot with Alberto. We were there over the 4th of July and had no expectations from the resort for this holiday. But, man did they work their tails off to put on a 4th of July event. For two days they worked in heat to build a venue for the large event and show that included delicious food (grilled lobster, etc). The workers were dressed in 4th of July attire all day and themed activities by the pool. The World Cup was also taking place while we were there and they set up the movie theater for a themed watch parties. Soccer activities in the hall outside, snacks and small dinner foods, full bar and waiters delivering drinks to your seats. Mexico got the win for the first game, but sadly lost the second one. The vibe was so fun. Haven't been to a ton of AI resorts, but can compare it to another decently well known chain: Pueblo Bonito in Cabo. Service at Dream PM far exceeds Pueblo. Food... hard to give a strong comparison. The food items on the menu at DPM are delicious but the menu selections are minimal - maybe 5-6 main meal items in total. But, those items are middle to higher end items and done well. PB menu tend to have more options on their menu but the quality of the items vary depending on the restaurant/hotel - often having to pay extra for the nicer restaurants. Where I think improvement can happen is lunch items/selection. Unless you can convince your kids to leave the pool and put on clothes you are very limited in items to eat. We never got to go to lunch at the restaurant because we couldn't get them out of the pool, so we were stuck with the pool lunch menu of 4 very mediocre options. PB far exceeds DPM for lunch. We were starving by dinner, so the limited number of items on the dinner menu stuck out a bit more and had us ordering a lot more off the menu, likely being wasteful. Having the Pref. Lounge for some snacks helped a lot. The Teen Lounge far exceeds PB. For one DPM doesn't consider it a game room, so they don't charge to play the games. It is a lounge, so somewhere kids can go to hangout. 4-5 video game consoles (newest versions), handful of arcade games, table tennis, couches, snacks, drinks, etc . Technically our 11 yr old wasn't supposed to be allowed, but the resort wasn't crowded at all so they were very kind to allow him to go with his 13 yr old brother. That area is really awesome. Aside from the inside games area they also have a cool outside area, even batting cages during a certain timeframe. Did a spa treatment one day and it was delightful and the setup was beautiful and relaxing. Rocio did amazing work 10/10 recommend her. This was our first time with Dreams and I was impressed. I have since learned that there are levels of Dreams and this was considered a luxury one? Not sure how the classification work or how the experience differ, but we are hoping to check out other Dreams and we are eyes Mazatlan and Cabo. Read less

We chose Dreams Mujeres based on recommendations from a Travel Agent and looking at numerous reviews…and we were so disappointed. Is everyone a paid influencer? Or are people just not aware of what good food is? Starting with the Good: Spa - Excellent (clean, great service, quiet, a true highlight of the trip) Hibachi- the best meal we had, but you have to be ready to jump on the app right at 1:00 pm to get a reservation. You can only reserve 4 spots, so if you have more than that in your party you will need two people to be ready to grab spots. Pool/Beach - very nice. Tons of pool space, but not so much chair space. Be prepared to get up around 7:30-8:00 and grab chairs. You can put your stuff on it to claim them, but by 8:30 they are all gone. Wear water shoes in the pool! The bottom is very rough. The beach was great - soft sand. They are raking the seaweed daily, and it was present but not overwhelming. Shows/Entertainment- the resort does a good job of putting on shows and hosting large buffets outdoors in the main green space. Best place to eat during the day: That’s A Wrap - great sandwiches/wraps that are made to order. Kids- If you are traveling with young people, they will have the time of their lives. Dulce- ice cream and iced nights Bad: Food, in general - sub par. We were very disappointed in the food - some of it just inedible. Beef so tough, it was like chewing leather. Pizza - with raw dough for crust. No flavor to anything. The Mexican place was the worst…in Mexico! I actually went to bed hungry one night because dinner was so bad. Cleanliness- we had family members that had to switch rooms after discovering stained sheets on the bed, a toenail on the floor, and mold in areas. But I will say that the public areas/bathrooms were kept spotless. Golf: don’t waste your money. The course is beautiful, but the rental clubs were garage sale quality. Imagine playing a Championship Course, and given clubs with no grips, ripped bag, dented club heads. The moral of the story: if the food had been top tier, the rest of it wouldn’t have mattered. Two years ago, I wrote a review of Dreams Playa Mujeres after our family finally made the trip we’d been planning for years. At the end of that review I said, “I just hope our return visit is much sooner.” Thankfully, this time it was. One thing I’ve learned over the years is that it’s easy for memories to become a little larger than life. Sometimes you go back to a place you loved and realize it wasn’t quite as magical as you remembered. That wasn’t our experience. If anything, this trip reminded us why we fell in love with Dreams Playa Mujeres in the first place. The resort itself is still beautiful. The pools are fantastic. The beach remains one of our favorite stretches of sand in Mexico. The food was excellent, the rooms were comfortable, and the atmosphere somehow manages to feel both lively and relaxing at the same time. This time we also enjoyed Preferred Club status, and it was absolutely a highlight. We loved having access to the Preferred Club lounge, the lazy river, and the cabanas. Those little extras made an already wonderful vacation feel even more relaxing. A special thank you to Dylan, the Preferred Club Manager. He was incredibly helpful even before our trip began, answering questions and making sure everything was in place before we ever arrived. Throughout our stay he remained available, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure our family had an outstanding experience. That kind of leadership doesn’t go unnoticed. As beautiful as the property is, what continues to set Dreams apart is the people. We interacted with dozens of team members throughout the week, and every single one treated us with genuine warmth. You never felt like just another room number. People remembered you, joked with you, asked about your day, and seemed to genuinely care that your vacation was memorable. Several team members deserve special recognition. Mariana at the concierge desk was incredibly kind and patient as she helped us secure reservations at the always-popular Hibachi restaurant. She answered every question with a smile and made what could have been a stressful process incredibly easy. When it came time to head home, Ricardo at the concierge desk made our departure smooth and stress-free by helping us with every transportation detail. It’s amazing how much you appreciate someone who makes the final day of vacation simple instead of hectic. Speaking of Hibachi, Jaimie, our chef, was phenomenal. He was entertaining, incredibly talented, and somehow managed to make what every member of our family agreed was the best fried rice we’ve ever eaten. The entertainment team once again did an outstanding job creating an atmosphere that was energetic without ever feeling forced. Alberto was one of those people who naturally connects with guests. He was authentic, funny, personable, and genuinely interested in making everyone’s day better. He represented Dreams exceptionally well. And then there was “Tony Pepperoni.” Whether he was leading water aerobics, organizing volleyball, or simply making everyone around the pool laugh, his enthusiasm was contagious. He brought so much energy to every activity, and my family absolutely loved him. One of the highlights of our vacation was swimming with dolphins. Jonas from Amstar helped us book an experience that became one of the greatest memories my daughter and I have shared together. We’re equally grateful to William, the dolphin photographer, who captured those memories beautifully. Because of him, we have photographs that we’ll treasure forever. Throughout the week, Lucia took wonderful care of us both at our cabana and at Tides. She was consistently warm, attentive, and such a joy to visit with every time we saw her. We also want to thank Herberth for his outstanding service and genuinely kind personality. Encounters like ours with Herberth are exactly what make Dreams feel so welcoming. At the end of the week, we found ourselves saying exactly what we said two years ago: we don’t just love the resort, we love the people who make it what it is. Beautiful resorts can be found all over the Caribbean. The difference is the team. Dreams Playa Mujeres has assembled a remarkable group of people who consistently go above and beyond to create unforgettable experiences for families. They gave us another week filled with laughter, relaxation, incredible food, and memories that will stay with us for the rest of our lives. Read less
