I traveled tl Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort for a four-night stay from July 18-22, 2026, spending nearly $2,000 and traveling more than 3,000 miles expecting the quality, cleanliness, and service associated with a luxury all-inclusive resort. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of those expectations, and the way management handled my complaints made it considerably worse. Room cleanliness and sanitation My first room was not properly clean, including the bathroom and toilet area, and the view was obstructed. I had to change rooms, In the second room, the phone initially did not work, and the patio furniture was dirty. The most disturbing issue was the jacuzzi,which had visible residue and what appeared to be blood in and around it. I reported this while I was still on the property. Despite bringing it to the resort's attention, the jacuzzi was never properly cleaned and sanitized to my satisfaction. I was consequently unable to enjoy that amenity for the remainder of my stay. For a resort charging luxury all-inclusive rates, this was unacceptable Damaged luggage and an unsatisfactory response My luggage was also damaged after a member of the baggage staff handled it in a way that broke the strap. I immediately reported the damage to the concierge, yet I still had to travel home with damaged luggage. I gave the resort opporunities to address these issues. Instead, I found myself repeatedly following up and waiting for meaningful communication. The compensation process made matters worse. Management initially offered 10,000 World of Hyatt points, then increased the offer to 15,000 points or a massage. The resort later offered a complimentary two-night return stay. That offer failed to account for the fact that 1 live thousands of miles away. Returning to Mexico would require additional airfare, transportation, and other expenses, along with more time away from my regular responsibilities. A complimentary room does not make those additional costs disappear, nor does it address the problems I experienced during the original stay. After I explained why the return-stay offer was not a reasonable resolution, the resort changed `its offer to 25,000 World of Hyatt points and labeled it "final compensation.' The progression was astonishing. First, I was offered a return stay that would require me to spend additional money traveling across the country. When I explained why that was impractical, the resort substituted the offer with points and then declared the matter final. That is not what meaningful service recovery looks like. I was not requesting a refund. I wanted compensation that reasonably reflected the cumulative experience, including the sanitation concern, room conditions, damaged luggage, and the considerable effort required to get my concerns addressed. An especially frustrating attempt to address issues I never raised In its correspondence, management also introduced food and beverage offerings, even though 1 had never complained about the food or drinks. Those were not the issues I reported.My concerns were about room cleanliness the condition of the jacuzzi, damaged personal property, and the handling of my complaint. Bringing up unrelated amenities did not answer any of those concerns. It came across as a diversion from the actual issues rather than a direct and accountable response.I found that particularly insulting. I should not have to keep explaining my original complaints while management introduces unrelated matters that were never part of them. The lack of accountability was the final disappointment I requested escalation beyond property- level management for review by senior corporate leadership. After documenting the issues and explaining why the proposed compensation was inadequate, I still did not receive the meaningful acknowledgment or resolution I expected. The entire process left me feeling dismissed rather than valued as a paying guest. Declaring an offer "final" does not make it fair or adequate, particularly when the guest's concerns remain unresolved Problems can happen at any resort. What matters is how they are handled. In my experience, Dreams Playa Mujeres failed to meet reasonable expectations during the stay and then compounded the disappointment through its response afterward. Guests should not have to deal with questionable sanitation, dirty room conditions, damaged belongings, and weeks of follow-up just to have their concerns taken seriously. I would not return based on this experience I encourage prospective guests to consider not only the resort's advertised amenities and photographs but also my experience with cleanliness, sanitation, and management's response when problems were reported. I spent nearly $2,000 expecting a relaxing luxury vacation. Instead, I came home with damaged luggage, serious concerns about the condition of an advertised amenity, and a compensation process that left me more disappointed than before. The most troubling part was not simply that things went wrong. It was that, when given the opportunity to address them, management's response undermined my confidence even further. That is not the standard of hospitality I expected from a resort operating under the Hyatt and Inclusive Collection brands. Read less

Dreams Las Mujeres double charges for their rooms as a scam.

Beware scam hotel. We had 2 different couples staying there and we BOTH were charged twice for our $3000 room, once with Hyatt to book the reservation and then when checking in, they INSISTED on getting my credit card and duplicate charging me $3033 for a total of $6066 that I now have to fight to remove the duplicate $3033 charge. Not an accident as they duplicate charged me $105 for a bottle of wine at their restaurant. We talked with staff and managers and showed them documentation of the duplicate charges while on site and they had zero interest in crediting anything. We go to Cabo 3 times a year and have never experienced such a scam in 20 years. So we will NOT be back to this hotel OR Las Mujeres. Secondly, the rooms and balconies appear very old with an old bathtub on a tiny unsafe-looking 5 x 10 balcony. While the beach staff was excellent, and pools were clean, and the Greg Norman golf course was 5 star, the duplicate charge scam ruined our vacation for both couples. Beware. Hyatt noted to us this Dreams Las Mujeres hotel does this A LOT. A month later, after logging a credit card dispute, they FINALLY credited the duplicate $105 charge for the wine. But they are still giving me and the other couple that was doubled charged $2,700 the middle finger and laughing... Even though Hyatt corporate has been trying to get them to credit both of us back. Both couples have case numbers of the dispute with Hyatt, and Hyatt apologizes for the Mexican hotel scam. But Hyatt is ALSO are getting the middle finger from the Mexican hotel, which has $3033 and $2700 illegally. I don't understand why they let this Mexican hotel exploit a scam under the Hyatt name. If you are dead-set on going to this Las Mujeres area, explore the Atelier hotel nearby which is right off the Greg Norman golf course (which is a 5-star course) and is much more modern than Dreams. Also we paid a premium for ocean view and it was a view of the jungle with the ocean 1,000 yards in the distance. Ugh. Never again. Read less

Excellent resort, Friendly staff

Dreams Playa Mujeres is a wonderful resort. Plenty of activities for young kids through adults to do there. Nightly shows were fantastic. But of all the things at the resort, I would have to say, the friendliness of the staff was my favorite. Everyone had a smile and was welcoming. Gustavo, with the archery, was patient, kind, educational, and funny. He took his time with my little one, getting her to be able to shoot the arrows into the target. Jessica, with the entertainment team, was so lovely. Had such high energy, always smiling. And both Oliver and Juis at the hibachi restaurant were great! Attentive, happy, knowledgeable, and hard working. Only downfall to the resort was the reservations that needed to be made for the restaurants for dinner. I much preferred when they were a first come vs having to be right by my phone at the specific time that the reservations opened up for the night. Otherwise, I would say 10/10 for recommending this resort. Read less

Great Kids Pool, Gym & Beach. Delayed Dinnertime.

Great kids pool options with a lot of slides and the beach was beautiful. Food met expectations of other Dreams resorts. Ricardo with UVC and Oliver at Fusion were excellent! Best gym at a Dreams resort we’ve been to. Many weightlifting options, and I loved the peloton bike. What was frustrating was that it was very difficult to get a dinner reservation before 8 PM, which also made it hard to get to any of the shows on time. Food service overall was just okay and hosts were slow to acknowledge you compared to other Dreams with the exception of Fusion and Poolside which did better. Overall still a great resort experience, but not as good as we expected especially compared to other Dreams like Natura because of the dinner reservation timing and average service. Read less
