Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa Hotel

This was our sixth resort in the Maldives, and without question the best we have stayed at. We spent 13 nights at Emerald Faarufushi, and our stay was exceptional from start to finish. Staff From the moment we arrived, every member of staff made us feel like genuinely valued guests. The team at Emerald Faarufushi are the happiest, friendliest and most attentive staff we have ever encountered at any resort anywhere in the world. Before staying here, we had never experienced such consistently outstanding customer service. We had the pleasure of meeting both the General Manager, Patrick, and the Resort Manager, Rao. They were highly visible throughout our stay, regularly checking that guests were enjoying themselves, and were both warm, approachable and genuinely interested in making everyone’s holiday special. Our assigned butler, Apekcha, was exceptional. She was professional, kind, responsive, friendly and incredibly organised, taking care of all of our dining reservations and ensuring everything ran perfectly throughout our stay. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and she consistently went above and beyond to make our holiday extra special. She is a tremendous asset to Emerald Faarufushi. We would also like to recognise Chef Fernando and Chef Dhoni. They are incredibly talented chefs whose creativity, attention to detail and passion for their work shines through every dish they produce. Chef Dhoni prepared a spectacular farewell dinner on our final evening that was one of the finest meals we have ever eaten. Chef Fernando also created several unforgettable dishes during our stay. They are both masters of their craft. Rooms We split our stay between a Beach Villa with Pool and a Water Villa with Pool, and both were beautifully designed, spacious and exceptionally well equipped. This is clearly a resort that has thought of absolutely everything a guest could need. The minibar was generously stocked, the toiletries were excellent quality and replenished regularly, and the housekeeping team maintained impeccable standards throughout our stay. We especially loved the creative towel art waiting for us in our Water Villa. Each villa comes with bicycles, which gave us the freedom to explore the island whenever we wished. The island itself is beautifully maintained, with lush tropical vegetation and immaculate surroundings. Emerald Faarufushi has achieved the perfect balance between natural beauty and luxury. Food The dining experience was simply outstanding. The breakfast buffet offered an excellent selection, with impressive attention to detail and impeccable hygiene standards. One small detail that particularly impressed me was that all fresh fruit was carefully covered, preventing access by insects. This may seem minor, but it demonstrated the resort’s commitment to cleanliness and food quality. We have stayed at other luxury resorts where uncovered fruit attracted flies, so this attention to detail did not go unnoticed. We enjoyed several memorable dinners at Mediterraneo. The restaurant is beautiful, the menu is varied and creative, and every meal was beautifully presented and delicious. The service was equally outstanding. Priyanka, Virendra, Adel and Anisa were all incredibly warm, welcoming and attentive, making every evening feel like a special occasion. The chefs are very visible and enjoy interacting with guests, which added a lovely personal touch. They were always happy to discuss the menu and accommodate requests, and nothing was ever too much trouble. Across our entire 13 night stay, we did not have a single disappointing meal. Quite simply, the dining at Emerald Faarufushi was the finest we have experienced anywhere. The Pool Bar also provided excellent evening entertainment. A special mention goes to Sonu, whose attentive service and tireless work ethic really stood out. Snorkelling Complimentary snorkelling equipment is provided, which was an excellent inclusion. The house reef is easily accessible and full of marine life. During our stay we were fortunate enough to see eagle rays, reef sharks and a wonderful variety of tropical fish. Final thoughts We normally choose a different resort each time we visit the Maldives, but Emerald Faarufushi has completely changed our thinking. Before we had even left the island, we had already decided that we would return. Quite simply, Emerald Faarufushi has set a new benchmark for us. Every aspect of our holiday exceeded our expectations, from the exceptional staff and world-class dining to the beautiful accommodation and stunning island. We stayed for two nights in a beach villa and four nights in a water villa. Overall, the experience was wonderful. The hotel facilities were quite new, and our villa host, Zaul, provided excellent service. He responded quickly to our messages and helped us solve many issues right away. We had a very pleasant stay overall and would highly recommend this hotel to newlyweds on their honeymoon or couples traveling together. Read less

We had the best time at Emerald Faarusfushi. The island is just perfectly sized (intimate and not too big) with a stunning reef and delectable food. What makes it perfect is the outstanding team that runs it. The resort manager Rao is always present but never intrusive, making sure everything you need is there before you even ask. The team across all restaurants and bars feel like friends. F&B manager Arres, chef Fernando, Milan hosting the crab race, miss Das making cocktails at Eclipse, the team at the pool bar serving you from 10:00 am to 11:00 without a trace of tiredness (sorry I am unable to remember all names but you were outstanding) And then our room host Tharif, there was nothing he couldn’t manage for us, whether it was booking slots for dives which were unavailable or changing last minute reservations or ensuring we had everything handy. He was just a WhatsApp away 24/7. The stunning island is made even more stunning by the team that runs it and we plan to be back soon.
