Where is it

In the Raa Atoll, this 20-hectare island is surrounded by 1.5km of soft sand. Transfer time from Malé International Airport: 40 minutes by seaplane (remember to pack light for the seaplane transfer as luggage allowance is 20kg plus 5kg hand luggage, per person).

80 Beach and Overwater villas. All with air-conditioning, satellite TV, iPod docking station, WiFi, tea/coffee-making facilities and daily refreshed mini-bar. Beach Villas have an open-air bathroom and private furnished patio with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults or 2 adults and 1 child. Deluxe All-Inclusive includes: breakfast (at Aqua), lunch (at Aqua and Beach Club Grill), and dinner (at Aqua, Beach Club Grill, Carnivorous, Mediterraneo and La Asiatique). Beach Villas with Pool have a front-row access to Faaruhushi’s white-sand beach, and a private covered patio with lounge furniture, with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Ideal for families the Family Beach Villa with Pool have a separate twin bedroom, as well as 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 2 children.

Water Villas with Pool are located along Faarufushi’s jetty, and feature a patio over the sea plus a private infinity pool with direct access to the water, with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Sunset Water Villas with Pool are located along Faarufushi’s jetty, and feature a private covered patio with lounge furniture, private infinity pool, and direct access to the water, with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults

Superior Water Villas with Pool are located at the end of jetty, and have a private infinity pool, patio over the sea, lounge area, bedroom with walk-in closet, and 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

There is not a lot I can add to all the amazing reviews of this hotel other than to say they are all accurate and we loved our stay there. We had an issue when we arrived but the management ended up moving our rooms as soon as they could. We can’t express how much we appreciated their consideration of our concerns and their professionalism in the handling of them - it made all the difference to our holiday. This hotel runs like clockwork while managing to appear laid back and relaxed. We never once saw anyone cleaning our rooms yet they were impeccably cleaned twice a day. The food is spectacular - really. We don’t love buffets generally so, although the food at Aqua was really good, we ended up up sticking to the four a la carte restaurants for dinners. Each one felt like a high end dining experience, complete with really knowledgeable and passionate sommeliers like Supreeti and always a visit from the restaurant chef or the Head Chef Moreno. The diving team was professional and everyone was really kind and attentive. We particularly enjoyed doing a night dive on the hotel’s reef with Miru. Our morning workout with Jerry was really fun, as was the cocktail class with Ronnack - we highly recommend both. The resort was apparently full but never felt crowded which was a nice surprise - for example, we could always get a seat by the pool and our wonderful assigned butler Fayaz could always get us into our restaurant choice. Our memories of cycling around the island, snorkeling whenever we wanted, eating amazing food, and gazing out at the sunsets will sustain us for a while .. thank you Emerald Faarafushi!! Read less

12th trip to the Maldives and would say this resort was excellent in terms of consistency of the food quality (and them accommodating our kids lactose and gluten free requirements) and service. Thank you to the wonderful staff for the hospitality.

All the staff were friendly and the natural scenery was beautiful. We had fun activities and it was a chance to become friendly with the water. Especially My butler “Tharif” so nice. I felt comfortable checking the schedule every morning, bringing them in, and staying. I would love to go again.
