In the Raa Atoll, this 20-hectare island is surrounded by 1.5km of soft sand. Transfer time from Malé International Airport: 40 minutes by seaplane (remember to pack light for the seaplane transfer as luggage allowance is 20kg plus 5kg hand luggage, per person).

Having visited the Maldives for the last 13 years (and 11 years with our daughter), Emerald Faarufushi has been one of the best!
So much so, we are returning next month and we cannot wait to see the team again.
One of the best Premium All Inclusive that we have experienced in the Maldives which packs a real punch despite it being a relatively small island.
All of the food and beverage offerings were top notch, a huge choice of wines and cocktails, a Culinary treat with 5 restaurants... you are quite simply spoilt for choice!
But the main reason for us returning is all thanks to Chef Samira and the Culinary team.
Our daughter has a severe cows milk allergy which can make travelling a little stressful to say the least.
I reached out prior to our stay and the team were amazing by answering all of my questions which really put my mind at ease.
Every single meal, no matter which restaurant we were dining at, Chef Samira would come and take Emmeline's food order... nothing was ever too much trouble.
Salmon sashimi & avocado - no problem. Dairy free carrot cake - no problem.
Even when we ate at the Teppanyaki table, Emmeline was hand delivered the most incredible sushi platter. I had never seen anything like it before, it was exquisite.
Food allergies are incredibly serious and we have to carry extra Epipens with us just in case (especially in the Maldives due to the remoteness of the islands), but at Emerald it was handled so professionally and it allowed us to switch off a little as we knew she was in the safest of hands.
Seeing her face light up with the special desserts that were made just for her, the sushi platters, the dairy free pancakes at breakfast... it was utterly priceless seeing her enjoy all of the beautiful food that Emerald Faarufushi went out of their way to make for her.
It can be quite limiting whilst on holiday as to what Emmeline can eat as cows milk is in majority of dishes in one shape or form... butter, milk, cheese, yogurt, ghee, whey powder... but at Faarufushi, she was treated like an absolute princess and for her to feel so included and to see her enjoy every single dish that they so kindly made for her, they made her feel like she didn't have a food allergy as she did not miss out at all... and as parents with a child who has a food allergy, you cannot put a price on that 🤍
Grateful does not even come close.
So for anyone who has a food allergy and is lucky enough to stay here, you will be so well looked after and in the safest of hands.

We really enjoyed our recent stay at Emerald Faarufushi. We had visited a few other Maldives resorts in the past, but this resort exceeded all our expectations.
The staff were so professional & so friendly, & they all made us feel very welcome.
It was great to have several dining venues to choose from. The deluxe all-inclusive package was very comprehensive, with a great choice of food & drinks, all of which were of very good quality.
We particularly looked forward to the different theme nights at the Aqua buffet restaurant, as well as the a la carte restaurants.
We enjoyed chatting to many of the F&B staff. To mention a few - Rohit, Yasir, Varrindra, Neema, Khalid & many others.
Our host Ali spoke to us daily, to ensure that we were happy & had everything we needed, & he kindly arranged some surprise treats for us during our stay, which were much appreciated.
The beach was kept very clean & tidy, with easy access to the lagoons for swimming.
My husband enjoyed snorkelling daily from the jetty, & saw a wide variety of fish & healthy coral.
We hope we will be able to return to Emerald Faarufushi in the near future, as it is a very special place 🙂
