We stayed at Emerald Faarufushi for 10 nights with our 2 young children and it was honestly the best holiday we have ever been on. The Island itself is beautiful and what you would expect from the Maldives with white sand and clear blue sea. The rooms and other facilities are extremely well maintained and always clean. You can see that the resort are always doing work to retain the high standards. You have a choice of 4 a la carte restaurants as well as the buffet for dinner which is great for variety and the food was amazing. Emerald also have an extensive wine list and some very knowledgeable sommeliers. The snorkelling is brilliant with access to the house reef and soo much to see. But the thing that makes this resort stand out more than all the others is the staff. You have a villa host who is always on hand for anything you need. Special mention to Ronak, Ori, Bona and Faya who made our trip extra special! Read less

After visiting Fashmandoo for the last 2 years, we decided to visit the other Emerald resort The resort is smaller, more intimate but retains the great Emerald standards We arrived quite late and were met at the Aqua restaurant by Fernando the chef, nothing is too much trouble for him and every meal at Aqua (the children chose to go there more than any of the other excellent restaurants) he enthusiastically described the meals and specials of the night. He is delighted to talk and clearly loves his work, the variety means for 14 days we were never bored and the food is FRESH! We had a gala dinner for Easter that included Wagu Steak and on other nights there were BBQ prawns and lobster. The sommelier Ran made sure we always had great wine to accompany the meal The island is a true paradise, it’s 20mins by boat to the nearest island and so feels genuinely secluded, amazing views 360 Great food, great wine, great views.. can’t be topped… until you go to the house reef and drop off, moray eels, reef sharks, eagle rays, turtles on the first morning… But the real cherry on the top for this resort is the dive school, the dives, including the secret dive spots are all exceptional, bettered only by the dive team Luca, Ilya and Miru.. these guys can DIVE and know their stuff… my daughter did her advanced open water and nitrox course with Luca… sometimes she can have difficult equalising and has a trick to inhale sea water… Luca joined in with us, it’s a deeply unpleasant way to clear your sinuses but works! Sharks, Manta, Eagle Rays, Turtle, Napoleon Wrasse, Octopus, Guitar Shark, Leopard shark… divers heaven. Thank you guys My youngest daughter loved kids club, made some friends with the other children and staff, special shout out to Alina and also to Ishy the bartender too OK slight gripe, the resort is AI, but bills are still brought with gaps for tips, this didn’t happen at the other resort and felt kind of awkward. We didn’t mind tipping, but prefer to do it voluntarily rather than with every meal or drink having a bill presented… the numbers are wooden dollars, it’s AI and so I have little interest in the cost of the buffet… a minor issue that pales into insignificance against an awesome vacation Tip Ask Ronnock for a Mojito with gold rum.. sublime Read less

It's a fantastic and beautiful island, good experience in Manta & Turtle Snorkelling. We also find the dolphins!🐬 Also, food is very delicious, I like the fish!!! I also want to give a big thanks to my villa host Faya. Faya is a very nice guy and provides assistance on our ad-hoc requests. Yep, it's a wonderful journey!!!😎
