The hotel

Honestly, this was one of the most disappointing luxury resort experiences we have had. The resort itself is beautiful, the ocean views are amazing, and the room quality and fittings are excellent. But unfortunately, the service and staff behaviour completely ruined the experience for us. We paid more than $1,000 per night, so naturally we expected a high level of hospitality and service. Instead, we often felt uncomfortable because many of the staff did not seem friendly, welcoming, or happy to assist guests. There was very little warmth or genuine hospitality. The buggy service was especially bad — really, really bad. The drivers often drove extremely fast and did not seem to care about the comfort or safety of the guests. I specifically told one driver that my wife is pregnant, but he still drove very fast. This was completely unacceptable for us. A luxury resort should make guests feel safe and cared for, not stressed every time they use the buggy. The reception experience was also disappointing. One of the female reception staff members was very rude and unfriendly. Instead of making us feel welcomed, her attitude made us feel like we were bothering her. There was no smile, no warmth, and no feeling that she genuinely wanted to help. For a resort charging this kind of price, this level of attitude is very disappointing. We were also given a poorly positioned water villa with a much worse view, despite paying the same rate as other guests. We were paying over $1,000 per night, so we expected a good location and view. When we asked about changing the villa, we were told that the other villas were fully booked. We cannot confirm whether that was true, but it was very frustrating to pay the same premium price and receive what felt like an inferior villa. The most frustrating part is that the resort has everything to be amazing — beautiful location, incredible views, beautiful rooms, and great facilities. But good facilities alone don’t create a luxury experience. Hospitality and staff attitude matter just as much, and unfortunately that was seriously lacking during our stay. For the price they charge, we expected a completely different level of service. The buggy service, reception experience, staff attitude, and our villa location were all major disappointments. Based on our experience, we would not recommend Hard Rock Maldives at this price point. We genuinely expected much more from a resort marketed as a luxury destination. Read less

It was a dream, everything was perfect. The hotel is fantastic, every beach is clean and beautiful, the rooms are big and room service and cleaning are incredible. My stay was great and MR. ALFAR made them perfect. He paid attention to every detail and everything we needed was attended. The hotel workers are very loving and thoughtful.

We had the loveliest time at Hard Rock Maldives in an overwater villa. Snorkelling off your platform and pool was lovely and warm for kids, and the adults enjoyed the swim up bar and comfy beds to relax. We didn’t have a bad meal (Caesar salad, Maldivian curry and the beach BBQ particular highlights) and loved the flexibility of walking to dinner or calling a golf cart. Biking around the resort was a lot of fun and nowhere ever felt crowded. Private boat trip was fab and staff all round were perfect. Only feedback for management: check in is quite long going through board etc, offer more than one welcome drink. More kids bikes please. Hard Rock food and atmosphere was much better than the Crossroads section. Thank you all for a super relaxing and memorable stay! Read less

Fabulous! No better scenic location, Maldives is like no place other! Waking up to the view of the ocean, with scintillating turquoise waters, private-style like beaches with soft white sand. Often more staff than holiday makers, fabulous restaurants all around. Walking across the Musikee Birdge is incredible, looking into shallow waters seeing sharks, tropical fish. We came for 9 nights from the UK on an 11 hour one flight, I’d say that’s the minimum stay for the flight involved. Read less
