Had a great time! Would recommend renting a guitar during your stay. Had a lot fun jamming out while my wife was at the pool. Kudos to Estrella for helping me pick out a Fender telecaster to play for the week!

The entertainment team were great, a big shout out for Jazzy, she’s really attentive and is great fun, she remembers so many people and really makes a great entertainment experience. Pools are clean and a good temperature, restaurants were a lot easier this visit to book over the old system, I hope it stays like this for our next visit. I would say the rooms are getting slightly tired but considering how little time we used ours this wasn’t a problem and was still a great value room for the price, we had a great room position too. The only grumble is we arrived late and there was a big delay getting checked in with only 2 staff on the desk, and a big queue with no reception drinks offered, on previous visits check in has always been prompt with reception drinks upon arrival but as this is the only negative I would still rate our overall experience excellent, please keep up the amazing standards x Read less

I genuinely don’t know where to begin with our experience at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya — and that says everything. We are here as a group of 13 for a family wedding, a special occasion that should have been unforgettable for the right reasons. Instead, just five days in (with a week still to go), this has been one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I rarely leave negative reviews, but after repeated attempts to resolve issues with management — who have only offered spa credits and massages rather than actual solutions — I feel compelled to share the reality. Arrival chaos (after 16 hours of travel): We arrived to a system outage, meaning key cards couldn’t be activated. We were escorted to a room we couldn’t access, left waiting over 30 minutes with a tired 7-year-old, only to discover the room was already occupied when maintenance forced the door open. We were then taken to another room, which was initially inaccessible due to flooding from the sprinkler system. The corridors were dirty, with food left out and even raccoons roaming around. Not exactly the welcome you expect. Spring break chaos with zero control: Yes, we booked during spring break — but the hotel has completely failed to manage this. Students are mixed in with families across all buildings. There is: Constant noise (shouting, music, doors slamming) Heavy drinking from early morning until late at night No visible security or supervision We have witnessed fights — one directly outside our room — and my daughter walked out one morning to find blood on the floor. That should never happen in a “5-star” resort. The situation feels unmanaged and, at times, unsafe. Unacceptable noise & night-time disruption: Maintenance work is carried out in the early hours (around 2am), with loud crashing and banging. On one night, the noise was so bad my daughter was shaking in fear. This was not guest noise — it appeared to be staff activity. Overcrowding & poor dining experience: We were told reservations weren’t needed, which sounded great — in reality, every restaurant has long waits (often 60–90 minutes). With children, this is simply not workable, so we’ve been forced to rely on the buffet most of the time. Rooms & facilities: While some staff are friendly, the rooms are dated, poorly maintained, and offer zero soundproofing. Combined with the party atmosphere, sleep is nearly impossible. We’ve had to nap during the day just to cope. Management response: ineffective and dismissive: We spoke with staff members (who were polite but powerless), and despite raising serious concerns, nothing meaningful has been done. We even declined a room move because the alternative area was worse — with intoxicated guests lying in corridors during the day. Sunbed situation: Sunbeds are gone before 7am. On one occasion, we placed towels down at 6:45am, went to the gym, and returned to find our belongings removed and others taking our space. We were told staff clear beds every 30 minutes — yet we haven’t managed to secure sunbeds once during our stay. The most disappointing part: We are here for a wedding — and there has been zero effort from the hotel to make this group, or the bride and groom, feel special or even supported. This has been an expensive, stressful, and deeply frustrating experience. The hotel is overcrowded, poorly managed, and completely lacking in guest care and safety oversight. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels worldwide — and this is, without question, one of the worst-run “5-star” resorts I’ve encountered. Other members of our group will also be sharing their experiences, as this only scratches the surface. Avoid at all costs. Read less
