Great hotel excellent in all aspects and great deal to get theme park tickets included with complimentary transport to get around Yas Island. We were fortunate to get upgraded to an Executive suite which was a bonus. Food excellent, pool and beach club very well kept indeed. Family stay, 2 adults, 2 children aged 15 and 17. We had a family ocean view room with a double and double sofa bed. The sofa bed was quite small for that age children and not that comfortable and also we found the amount of closet space was quite limited. Aside of that the breakfast choice and service was excellent. We did not eat in any other of the on site restaurants but they looked great. Taxis around Yas Island are cheap and readily available and personally I would suggest just paying for a taxi if you are doing the parks as the shuttle can take a long time. If you are transferring to DXB airport we paid D250 (GBP 50) plus a tip using a local Abu Dhabi taxi outside the hotel which we thought was excellent value for a two hour journey (Ramadan so roads busy in Dubai). We had the most fantastic week at this lovely hotel. We had never been to Abu Dhabi before so we weren’t sure what to expect but we were very pleasantly surprised. It will become our go to for guaranteed winter sun and this hotel will be where we will stay. Our bay facing room was beautiful and kept spotlessly clean by the lovely Ruby. She was so friendly and went over and above to make sure we were comfortable and that everything in the room was perfect. The bed was extremely comfortable and we hardly heard any noise from other rooms. The pool was lovely with sun beds available at all times. McCafferty’s Irish pub on the ground floor was a great, lively place to spend a few hours in the evening. They had live music on each night and tv’s to watch sport if wanted. The only issue we had was that breakfast was a bit of a “bun fight”. It’s not a very well designed restaurant. It’s dark and narrow. It didn’t help that adults let their young children get their own food and were running around with plates and drinks. We only found out on the day we left that there was another quieter restaurant on another floor that we could have accessed. We would have really appreciated being told that on our first day. That being said I have still given the hotel a very well deserved 5 stars and we will be back. Read less

On Wednesday we visited the Hilton Yas Island in Abu Dhabi for the first time based on a recommendation. We were fasting, so we were looking for a buffet that served Iftar. We asked at reception, and security directed us to the ground floor. There, we encountered a staff member who was quite rude and almost closed the door in our faces. We asked her if it was the Iftar buffet and explained that we were walk-in guests. She replied, “No, it’s only for in-house guests. Outside guests are not allowed,” with a very rude attitude—zero customer service and no eye contact. She seemed upset or in a hurry to leave. We asked if there was another Iftar buffet in the hotel since it was already almost 6:20 PM. She responded, “I don’t know, ask upstairs.” I’m not sure what was going on with her, but she was quite rude. Afterwards, we went to the front office to ask again. The associate there also wasn’t sure where the Iftar buffet was, but she tried to find out. She looked up information, texted someone on her phone, and then guided us correctly. Fortunately, the Iftar staff were very kind. The service was excellent from the hostesses to the waiters and the buffet was very diverse and well prepared. The decoration and the deserts station fantastic. Unfortunately, the initial interaction with the ground floor hostess was quite rude.
