The hotel
A brand new resort on Hayat Island in Ras Al Khaimah, the Intercontinental offers sea views from all rooms, giving that idyllic island feel that you’re craving from a beach holiday. Take time out on your spacious balcony with a morning coffee, overlooking the ocean, or with a sundowner from the minibar before the evening begins. You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to dining options, NoHo is great for an evening buzz and will transport you to trendy New York in an instant. Shasha is the hub of entertainment, be it pool parties, yoga or cinema under the stars, and make sure you grab a spot here in time for the sunset views over the ocean. This hotel is a great pick for families, with spacious suites and villas with private pools available for larger parties, and an extensive kids activity programme to keep them occupied, giving you time to visit the spa for a massage to unwind. Drinks are also available at ShaSha Pool Bar from 11:00am-10:00pm. The package ends at 12:00 noon on the day of check-out.
All-Inclusive Dine Around option: available at Saffar Restaurant and includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner during operating hours. Selected soft drinks and house alcoholic beverages are available from 11:00 to 22:00 at Saffar, Sahar, ShaSha, Victory View, and Amarbar. We had half board which we used occasionally in the evening. The lounge canapés took away our appetites and as we found the food in the restaurants … to the extent that we sometimes skipped dinner.
We used the gym, it is functional but could do with some tlc.

We had a fantastic holiday staying at this hotel. We booked a Club King Ocean View room on an all inclusive package.
From the moment we arrived, we felt valued and customer satisfcation was obviously a priority. We arrived at just after 10.30pm and the buffet was closed, but no problem, Tenda on reception said we could order room service and each have a 120 Dirham credit which was more than enough to have something lovely to eat (I recommend the Thai Green Chicken curry). This actually suited us after the long journey from the UK. Tenda also gave us the option to have 4 dinners at the a la carte restaurants - this was not part of the package so was an extra given to us which we very much appreciated (there is an all inclusive menu at both a la carte restaurants).
The room was fabulous, very large with a fantastic view, balcony and a bathroom big enough for a seperate shower, toilet and full size standalone bath tub. Special thanks here to the team that made up the room every day. It wss always spotless and incredibly tidy.
Breakfast was either in the dedicated club lounge or buffet restaurant. Both were excellent, with an amazing selection that should certainly satisfy anyone's needs. Service was always excellent and we never had to wait for a table. The service in the buffet was so good that we actually took breakfast there more often than the club lounge (though the club lounge does have the benefit of various hot options being brought to your table and has a more exclusive feel). If you book a club room, try both as in the end it's a personal preference.
We spent our days by the club pool. It was incredibly relaxing, sunbeds were always available and towels and cold water were provided. Again, the staff here were outstanding. A special mention for Hari (lifeguard) and Emmanuel (from the club room and always offering drinks). They could not do enough for us.
Both the buffet dinners and a la carte restaurants were superb and there's no holding back on the wine top ups! We enjoyed every single meal we had. A big thank you to Abdul and the team.
We did not use the Spa, beach or watersport facilites so can't comment on them but they all looked great and I have no doubts would be as good as all the other facilities reviewed here.
Overall, a brilliant holiday, superb hotel and 100% recommended.
