The hotel
A brand new resort on Hayat Island in Ras Al Khaimah, the Intercontinental offers sea views from all rooms, giving that idyllic island feel that you’re craving from a beach holiday. Take time out on your spacious balcony with a morning coffee, overlooking the ocean, or with a sundowner from the minibar before the evening begins. You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to dining options, NoHo is great for an evening buzz and will transport you to trendy New York in an instant. Shasha is the hub of entertainment, be it pool parties, yoga or cinema under the stars, and make sure you grab a spot here in time for the sunset views over the ocean. This hotel is a great pick for families, with spacious suites and villas with private pools available for larger parties, and an extensive kids activity programme to keep them occupied, giving you time to visit the spa for a massage to unwind. If you don’t want to simply ‘fly and flop’, you’re only 45 minutes away from Dubai with it’s magnificent shopping centres, water parks and attractions galore.

Guests may also choose to dine at NoHo Bar & Grillor Levant & Nar, enjoying either a multi-course set menu or a dining credit.

They have set a standard of hospitality that, in my experience, is simply unmatched. This is not just outstanding service—it is the highest bar to which every luxury hotel should aspire.
With special thanks to Esther and Emmanuel who looked after us so incredibly well - as did all of the staff.
This is our second time here and we stayed in one of the villas - again, they are outstanding. I also used the spa and had a wonderful massage.

As a diamond ambassador, I am always treated really well.
Special mentions to gerilyn, ester, paula, the waiter from Zambia (sorry I cannot recall your name!), and all the staff in the club which were all around excellent.
The adult only club pool was as always an oasis of tranquility
The afternoon tea at the club is always the highlight.
I find the hotel much better than the Waldorf Astoria Ras al Khaimah which I got to try last year as a Hilton Diamond.
Despite the on-going situation in the Middle East, the service and offering was unaffected which was much appreciated and the hotel was very transparent
beforehand.
As a point. of comparison in the current Middle East situation with low mid-week occupancy, I had a repeated stay in Jumeirah Al Naseem in Dubai later in June. Unlike the IC RAK, the Jumeirah Al Naseem hotel in Dubai severely reduced the open premises due to low occupancy (two out of 3 pools were closed with no notice whatsoever) despite commanding even higher prices than before.
One of my stays at the hotel was during Eid and the staff worked tirelessly as the resort was a full capacity. Kudos to them. I hope management appreciates them as they are truly ambassadors of the hotel.
