Here is the updated combined review: We returned to Rixos Al Hamra Beach in July after a disappointing stay in May during the renovation period, and the experience had improved significantly. The rooms were properly cleaned, the shuttle service between the villas and the main building was more frequent, and most importantly, the main restaurant had reopened. The buffet once again offered the typical Rixos experience, with kebabs, sushi, Indian dishes, Turkish specialties, salads, pide, and excellent baklava. A standout moment was the freshly prepared beef tartare, made live at the table. Serving tartare at an all-inclusive resort is a bold choice, as it requires excellent-quality meat, freshness, and careful preparation. It was delivered very well, with a generous portion made from a proper quality cut rather than ordinary minced meat. The pools are clean, well maintained, and temperature-controlled with cooled water, as is common at quality resorts in the UAE. The sea is naturally a little warmer in July, but it is still pleasant and enjoyable for swimming. The property benefits from a beautiful bay, spacious grounds, and well-maintained gardens. The family rooms are generously sized and very comfortable for a longer stay. We had no issues this time, and the staff were, as usual, engaged, friendly, and approachable. Compared with May, the improvement was substantial. For a weekend escape from Dubai, the resort is also very convenient: only around 1 to 1.5 hours by car and typically 3 to 5°C cooler, making it an excellent nearby choice. Read less

I feel incredibly fortunate to have chosen InterContinental Mina Al Arab Resort & Spa to celebrate my beautiful mother’s birthday. From the moment we arrived and were warmly welcomed by the valet team until the time we said our goodbyes, every moment of our stay was exceptional. The resort is stunning, and our oceanfront villa was simply unforgettable. Everything was immaculate, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. The food, dining options, and overall value for money exceeded our expectations. What truly made our stay special was the incredible team. Thank you for making my mother feel so loved and celebrated. A special thank you to the team who arranged the beautiful birthday surprise in our villa, the front desk staff, the valet team, the golf cart drivers, and the managers we had the pleasure of meeting. Special thanks to the wonderful team at NoHo Restaurant for the birthday cake. Special thanks to Chef Shibin for taking such great care of my mother at breakfast, Yousef for the delicious coffee, and Siva, Limbu, Akendra, Rama, and everyone else who contributed to the birthday and farewell cakes and provided such exceptional service. Your genuine warmth, kindness, and attention to detail made this celebration unforgettable. We couldn’t have chosen a better place to celebrate such a special occasion, and we can’t wait to return. A special shoutout to the following staff members: Mr. Faraz (altruistic), Mr. Adriann (professional and polite), Mr. Amoon (very friendly, great communicator), Ms. Kuljeet (super friendly and warm), Mr. Kenneth (huge thank you to him for being so accommodating and supportive), Mr. Shibin (the amazing chef, so friendly and polite), Mr. Limbu (very progessional), Mr. Tendai (friendly and helpful), Ms. Jessie (super friendly and kind). We stayed in a twin room. It was magnificent! I loved the views of the pool and beach. Balcony was quite wide and comfortable. Great beds. Amazing lighting and controls in the room. Bathroom was clean. BUT, be a bit careful when adjusting the temperature of the shower. It may take some time and be confusing initially. Great seating options in the room: desk & chair, couch, bed. This resort has the best amenities that I've ever seen. The beach was very beautiful especially during sunset. There was a kids pool and adults pool- both very well-crafted. Fitness Centre had a great gym and superb tennis court. Very friendly staff there! Boutique shop and other amenities were avaialable too. Option to borrow a cycle from the resort and ride outside the resort was available. A few amazing restaurants and cafes were setup in the resort. Buffet breakfast was marvelous with widespread variety of multicuisine foods. Definitely high value for money here. Amazing location as well in RAK. I recommend you stay here for at least 2 nights to make the most out of the experience. Read less

I recently had the pleasure of staying once again at the InterContinental Ras Al Khaimah, and overall it was another very enjoyable experience. The facilities and grounds are beautiful, offering a relaxing and luxurious setting with excellent amenities throughout the resort. I was fortunate to receive an upgrade to an Ocean View Villa, and the view was simply breathtaking. Waking up each morning to uninterrupted views of the sea was a real highlight of the stay. The villa itself was spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed. While it remains a fantastic accommodation option, some aspects of the property are beginning to show their age and could benefit from refurbishment to bring them back to the standard expected of a flagship InterContinental resort. What continues to set InterContinental apart for me, and why it remains my favourite brand within the IHG family, is the exceptional quality of its staff. Time and time again, the people make the difference, consistently delivering a level of service that many other hotel chains—and even some fellow IHG brands—struggle to match. A special mention and sincere thank you must go to **Gerilyn in the Club Lounge**. Her dedication, professionalism, and attention to detail are truly outstanding. She works tirelessly to ensure every guest has an exceptional experience, always going above and beyond to make the lounge welcoming, comfortable, and memorable. Team members like Gerilyn are a credit to both the hotel and the InterContinental brand. Despite signs that parts of the property could benefit from some updating, the combination of stunning views, excellent facilities, and truly world-class service means I would be very happy to return and recommend the resort to others.
