I chose this hotel given touted family-friendly amenities. We arrived around 8AM and of course our rooms weren’t ready, but we were able to enjoy facilities. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The kids enjoyed the pool and their unlimited supply of snacks, I.e. ice cream. The next day was my daughter’s 10th birthday so I wanted to arrange a restaurant for her birthday dinner as well as our excursion to Dunns River Falls. I reserved hibachi. All excursions were booked through JetBlue (see my review on that separately). Anyway, we weren’t able to eat at the Italian restaurant that night as it was full so we ended up at hibachi - Pierside. I arrived a few minutes later and my party was already seated, literally Oceanside, it was beautiful. Our chef came and performed his act while he cooked - chicken, beef or salmon options with rice. I had to request noodles because it wasn’t an option. The salmon was prepared last. After it was served the cook left and we continued to enjoy our meals. As my sister chewed a piece of her salmon she said: oh, what’s this? She proceeded to pull a jagged glass shard from her mouth - it was about an inch in length. She was mortified. My other sister took it from her, equally appalled, and called the server over. She showed the shard to the server who took it and showed her manager. A few minutes later the manager came over to apologize profusely. Luckily for my sister the shard was in a horizontal not vertical position when she ingested it. We left the restaurant. After returning to our room we received a call from the night hotel manger again apologizing for the incident; her only rationale was that the fish might have ingested the shard prior to its demise. We received apologies all around. I’m not sure how they could avoid this ever recurring, but diligence is always required when dealing with food. The lobby bathroom in building C has a leak from the ceiling and they’re using a plant to collect the water. Apart from this the staff are lovely and the location is picturesque. Despite this I wouldn’t revisit. Read less

I give it a 4 because night one we were put in a room with no shower. We were able to move night two. There are a lot of weddings but they cut the music off at 10. Habachi Karaoke was hot but our chef was a blast. A big shout out to the pool entertainment. Nicki, M&M and Whitney made pool days so much fun!

Upon arrival, I was assigned a room with a broken patio door, which caused the air conditioner to not work properly. Due to the condensation the ceiling leaked making the floor wet. I contacted the front desk and was given a new room the next day. I requested to speak with a manager, but no one was available. The day and evening entertainment was terrible!! By 9 pm there’s nothing to do on the resort, they have a small night club on the premises, which was smaller than my room. The food was decent but options are limited. The buffet is not open for dinner. I would give this resort negative stars. We won't go back, but it's a shame because if it was managed properly this could be a great place. During checkout I was offered $100 as compensation, what a joke! I stayed at Princess Mangrove in January and it was lovely. Jamaica has amazing resorts but this isn’t one of them. Beware!! Read less

I stayed at Jewel Grande Montego Bay at the end of March 2025, in a 1-bedroom oceanfront suite, booked specifically because it advertised a fully equipped kitchen. Unfortunately, this trip was deeply disappointing and filled with issues that not only impacted the quality of our stay but also left me feeling stressed and misled. The most frustrating part of the stay was the kitchen — which was completely unusable due to a total lack of basic supplies. Despite making eight separate requests to multiple staff members, we received only two plates, two bowls, and two sets of silverware — and those were delivered by room service, not housekeeping. No pots, pans, utensils, or kitchen essentials were ever provided. At one point I had to source dishes from the buffet just to eat — something that was frankly embarrassing and unacceptable. I spoke with staff member Shelly on our second day, who said items would arrive in 20 minutes — we waited an hour before we had to leave and when we returned later in the afternoon nothing ever came. I followed up with the front desk and emailed the concierge — still nothing. I requested to speak with a manager, but no one ever followed up with me. When I brought this up at checkout, the response was a casual “sorry” — still, no manager was offered. If I had known the kitchen would be unusable, I would have absolutely booked another resort. I brought food with me and was unable to use it — wasting money and the experience I had planned for. Additional issues included: • Room was dirty upon arrival. Even after I pointed it out to housekeeping, dirt and debris remained on the floors. • The refrigerator was broken and only replaced after two reports to the front desk. • The sofa was damaged and uncomfortable. • We requested extra blankets and never received them. • Room service is $10 per order — for the exact same food served at the buffet, except it arrives cold. • Only two hot tubs on-site — one was lukewarm, and the other was being treated 4 of our 6 nights. We were only able to use it once. • Food shortages were common. One day, while renting a cabana, we were told only one menu item was available — despite their typical full menu. • The air conditioning did not function properly. Adjusting the thermostat had no noticeable effect. This was a birthday trip, and I travel annually for the occasion. Sadly, this was the worst birthday trip I’ve had in years. I spent more time chasing down amenities than relaxing. The resort failed to deliver on what was promised — particularly the kitchen, which was a deciding factor in my booking. I am writing this review not out of anger, but in hopes that management will take responsibility and offer appropriate compensation for the amenities that were never delivered and the stress this caused. I also want to warn future guests: if you are booking this resort based on advertised amenities, please double check their availability and reliability, because in our experience, they were not honored. From the front desk, beach staff to entertainment & servers…just everyone around is friendly & wants you to feel welcomed & like family. This is also what sets Jamaica apart…One Love vibes. The entertainment each night was very good. By 10pm the resort was “quiet” but the clubhouse bar is still active & there is a nightclub. We had too many daily activities to go to the club but will be sure to check it out next stay. There is also a spa which we heard is very nice. After Every restaurant we ate at we enjoyed our meals. Breakfast buffet was our favorite lots of variety. The lunch at Crickets was runner up. Moonstone outdoor Italian dining was good but the wait was a little longer to get food. The drinks are very good unlike many other all inclusive resorts that waters down their drinks. Jerk Hut is always a favorite in Jamaica. Reggae street party night & bbq should not be missed! Location is only 15 minutes or so from MBJ airport. We will definitely return again & again!! Read less
