The hotel

A true desert island experience awaits you at Le Meridien Maldives Resort and Spa, and it’s a divers’ paradise! Located in Thilamaafushi, a natural island surrounded by blue lagoons and scenic Indian Ocean views, this hotel boasts six restaurants and bars - including Tabemasu with its impressive teppanyaki counter and Omakase menu, and Turqouise, a beachside marketplace with a variety of food options. Where is it

Located on the island of Thilamaafushi, in Lhaviyani Atoll, one of the Maldives’ smaller and underdeveloped atolls. Transfer time from Malé International Airport: 35 minutes by seaplane (remember to pack light for the seaplane transfer as luggage allowance is 20kg plus 5kg hand luggage, per person).

134 well-appointed guest villas, featuring unparalleled views across the whitewashed beaches, the Indian Ocean or turquoise lagoon. All with air-conditioning, tea/coffee-making facilities, iron and ironing board, mini fridge, safe, bathrobe, separate shower and tub, hair dryer, bathroom amenities, smart TV, and complimentary WiFi access. Beach Villas are 82 sqm featuring direct beach access, outdoor bathroom, and 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 2 children.

Half Board option: includes daily breakfast buffet at Turquoise. Dinner, choice of daily theme dinner buffet or a 3-course set menu served at Turquoise (set menu only when buffet is not available), 3-course set menu at Velaa Bar + Grill or 3-course set menu at Riviera Tapas.

Full Board option: includes daily breakfast buffet at Turquoise. Lunch, choice of Turquoise (only when the restaurant is open), 3-course set menu at Velaa Bar + Grill and 3-course set menu at Riviera. Dinner, choice of daily theme dinner buffet or a 3-course set menu served at Turquoise (set menu only when buffet is not available), 3-course set menu at Velaa Bar + Grill or 3-course set menu at Riviera.

Drinks: unlimited consumption of non-alcoholic beverages from the beverage list served in the above-mentioned outlets, only during mealtime (breakfast, lunch or dinner), and to be consumed in the outlets only. Mini-bar - non-alcoholic beverage and snacks replenished once per day.

All-Inclusive option: includes daily breakfast buffet at Turquoise. Lunch, choice of Turquoise (only when the restaurant is open), Waves Café, Velaa Bar + Grill and Riviera. Dinner, choice of daily theme dinner buffet or a 3-course set menu served at Turquoise (set menu only when buffet is not available), 3-course set menu at Velaa Bar + Grill, 3-course set menu at Riviera and 3-course set menu at Tabemasu, available once every 4 days (only when the restaurant is open).

Replenishing of consumed items will be one time per day only. 375 ml spirits and bottles of wine will only be replenished every 4 days.

Premium All-Inclusive option: includes daily breakfast served at Turquoise. Lunch, choice of Turquoise (only when the restaurant is open), Waves Café, Afternoon Tea (available at Latitude with advance reservations), Velaa Bar + Grill and Riviera. Dinner, choice of daily theme dinner buffet or a 3-course set menu served at Turquoise (set menu only when buffet is not available), 3-course set menu including weekly theme nights at Velaa Bar + Grill, 3-course set menu including weekly theme nights at Riviera, 3-course set menu at Tabemasu including weekly theme nights (only when the restaurant is open), Teppanyaki dinner at Tabemasu available - once every 4 days (with advance reservations and only when the restaurant is open).

Beach Garden Pool Villas feature an open-air bathroom, private pool, and direct beach access from the patio, with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

Beach Pool Villas are the same as above, with a pool located at the front of the villa.

Overwater Villas with pools have either sunrise or sunset views, private pool, and direct lagoon access. The bedroom has 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

Two Bedroom Beach Pool Villas feature direct beach access with a private pool, two bedrooms each with 1 king-size bed or 1 king-size bed and twin beds, and an open-air bathroom, sleeping maximum 6 people.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Le Méridien Maldives - our first time in the Maldives, and it truly exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, the staff were exceptional and made us feel incredibly welcome. We stayed in an overwater villa which was perfect in every way, and the team had even arranged special touches in our room to celebrate our anniversary, which was such a thoughtful surprise. There was a fantastic choice of food with a wide range of cuisines, plus great bars to relax in and beautiful beach areas to unwind. Getting around the resort was effortless, with buggies always available and everything organised through a WhatsApp group where staff responded instantly — such a brilliant and efficient system. Unfortunately, my wife had a fall during the trip, but the response was immediate and reassuring. The lifeguard and staff took excellent care of her, and we’re especially grateful to Dr Usman and Juman for their kindness and professionalism. The snorkelling was a real highlight. The resort has an incredible house reef, easily accessible from the West Jetty overwater villas. Free snorkelling equipment is provided, and it was amazing to see so much sea life right on our doorstep. We also visited the spa, which was incredibly relaxing - having a massage while looking out at the sea life below made the experience even more special. A big thank you as well to our photographer (sadly can’t remember the name) who took some fantastic photos for us and worked very efficiently. Special thanks to the amazing staff who really made our stay unforgettable: * Upsy and Erma at Turquoise * Symon, who took photos of us at the bar and made excellent drinks * Raj, our relationship manager, who always checked in on us and made sure we felt at home * Abishek, who was incredibly friendly and encouraged us to go snorkelling An unforgettable experience from start to finish. Our Sunset Water Villa was absolutely amazing, and the marine life right in front of the villa was unforgettable — stingrays, turtles, baby sharks, and cute, colorful fish. We even took a dolphin tour and got to see these happy creatures up close! Everything about the resort is perfect: the huge yet cozy and spotless villas, and the restaurants and bars, all designed with so much love and attention to detail. A heartfelt thank you to the entire Le Méridien team for taking care of everything. I have rarely felt so warmly welcomed. The staff is incredibly friendly especially Chef Pradeep at Vela, who makes everything possible and truly goes above and beyond to make your stay memorable and enjoyable to the fullest. The breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had, with so many live cooking stations for eggsample waffles, miso soup, fresh fruits, and more …and such kind and welcoming staff like Nashyth and Supun. There are plenty of activities, but also many quiet and serene spaces to relax. On top of that, we even had a beautiful photoshoot.
