The hotel

A true desert island experience awaits you at Le Meridien Maldives Resort and Spa, and it’s a divers’ paradise! Where is it

Located on the island of Thilamaafushi, in Lhaviyani Atoll, one of the Maldives’ smaller and underdeveloped atolls. Transfer time from Malé International Airport: 35 minutes by seaplane (remember to pack light for the seaplane transfer as luggage allowance is 20kg plus 5kg hand luggage, per person).

134 well-appointed guest villas, featuring unparalleled views across the whitewashed beaches, the Indian Ocean or turquoise lagoon. All with air-conditioning, tea/coffee-making facilities, iron and ironing board, mini fridge, safe, bathrobe, separate shower and tub, hair dryer, bathroom amenities, smart TV, and complimentary WiFi access. Beach Villas are 82 sqm featuring direct beach access, outdoor bathroom, and 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 2 children.

Half Board option: includes daily breakfast buffet at Turquoise. Dinner, choice of daily theme dinner buffet or a 3-course set menu served at Turquoise (set menu only when buffet is not available), 3-course set menu at Velaa Bar + Grill or 3-course set menu at Riviera Tapas.

Full Board option: includes daily breakfast buffet at Turquoise. Lunch, choice of Turquoise (only when the restaurant is open), 3-course set menu at Velaa Bar + Grill and 3-course set menu at Riviera. Dinner, choice of daily theme dinner buffet or a 3-course set menu served at Turquoise (set menu only when buffet is not available), 3-course set menu at Velaa Bar + Grill or 3-course set menu at Riviera.

Drinks: unlimited consumption of non-alcoholic beverages from the beverage list served in the above-mentioned outlets, only during mealtime (breakfast, lunch or dinner), and to be consumed in the outlets only. Mini-bar - non-alcoholic beverage and snacks replenished once per day.

All-Inclusive option: includes daily breakfast buffet at Turquoise. Lunch, choice of Turquoise (only when the restaurant is open), Waves Café, Velaa Bar + Grill and Riviera. Room upgrades

Beach Garden Pool Villas feature an open-air bathroom, private pool, and direct beach access from the patio, with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

Beach Pool Villas are the same as above, with a pool located at the front of the villa.

Overwater Villas with pools have either sunrise or sunset views, private pool, and direct lagoon access. The bedroom has 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

Two Bedroom Beach Pool Villas feature direct beach access with a private pool, two bedrooms each with 1 king-size bed or 1 king-size bed and twin beds, and an open-air bathroom, sleeping maximum 6 people.

Let me start by saying that my wife and I are experienced travelers, and we’ve been all over the world. We decided to go here on our honeymoon and it surpassed all our expectations. From the first contact by hotel management and the check-in team, to the final farewell by the staff - there is never a moment when you are not absolutely loved and cared for. All your wants and needs are not only met, but surpassed. Everyone we talked to made us feel like the most important guests on the entire island; but that is just how amazing the staff are. As for the rooms - they’re unreal. The level of comfort is exactly what you expect from a Marriot property of this caliber. The over-water villas sit above the coral reefs so you can snorkel off your deck. We say hundreds of different tropical fish, all vibrant colors and sizes. Sea turtles, rays, and all sorts of vivid sea life. It’s surreal to wake up to. The food was a personal highlight for both my wife and I. She has a gluten allergy, and usually when we travel it can be an issue. But not here. We mentioned it once or twice at check in, and from that point on, every meal we had the staff knew about her allergy, and she was more than accommodated for. They’d bring her gluten free bread, make her special meals as needed, and ensured she was well taken care of. The beaches were immaculate, the vibes were amazing, the food was perfect, and the staff could not have been better. There are a few individuals that made this trip better than amazing though, and they deserve the recognition: - Erma - Mauch - Symon - Thallu - Srijana - Ahkbar - Chef Vamsi, Chef Devine, Pastry Chef Sanchit and all their incredible staffs And of course the two individuals who went farther above and beyond anything that could be expected: Abhi & Chef Pradeep To the entire staff of the Le Meridian Maldives - thank you all from the bottoms of our hearts. Le Meridien Resort is absolutely blissful! The food is phenomenal! We did the all inclusive- which was worth it not to stress about the bill while on vacation but you can get by with half board. Riveria and Waves cafe for breakfast were our favorites. Lots of variety of food choices and every dish was exceptional! Now to the sea. We snorkeled most days sometimes twice a day for about an hour straight out and to the right from the end of the west end Villa pier. We got so very lucky! Had a National Geographic moment on our last day saw octopuses mating - followed by a close encounter with a reef shark- luckily he eventually swam away. The house reef is beyond amazing- clear, calm waters saw reef tip sharks, octopus - 4 total - morphing and changing colors and texture!, sea turtles, eagle ray, huge porcupine rays, so so many colorful fish - parrot fish, puffer fish (my favs!), squid! The overwater bungalows are a dream. We had perfect weather every day in the beginning of November. The staff were so attentive. Only downside vs other resorts is that the manta rays and whale sharks are not close - but I would choose this resort again in heart beat because of the phenomenal food, service and house reef. The jetski excursion to be up close to the dolphins was my favorite excursion! Also did jet skis to the nurse sharks and night snorkel where we were lucky enough to see bioluminescence!
