Absolutely the best stay, service and special touches for our 20th anniversary! The team of this resort is the best in the way they made us feel! Their communication before we arrived until the last pics at the seaplane departure was second to none. Service and creating special memories is in the resort DNA. The food & service is outstanding with Turquoise for breakfast buffet including dim sum, soup har snd Indian specialties plus full American breakfast items. You’ll need it to spend all morning snorkeling on the fabulous house reef filled with colorful fish, rays, turtles, & reef sharks. We chose the food & beverage all inclusive plan, and they discount the plan for bonvoy members. Lunches and dinners at each restaurant were fabulous from Velaa grill, Japanese, and Riviera-Tapas. We loved Gambas, flatbreads, watermelon salads, filet, reef fish, and amazing desserts especially the lemon tart, Carmel tart, and guava sorbets. Craft Cocktails and Cava were so refreshing after snorkeling. The overwater bungalow with a pool was perfect with gorgeous sunsets. We splurged on the private sunset dinner - unforgettable! The onsite dive center scheduled a private - search for manta ray trip worth every cent. Seeing the graceful manta rays circling reefs about 30 minutes from the resort by speed boat was a huge bonus to an already unbelievable trip. Spa services with glass opening in floor while enjoying a massage, very unique and so beautiful. If you are planning a Maldives trip, look no further than Le Meridien! Best Hotel in Maldives. From the moment you step our of the arrivals door at the airport you feel relaxed and welcomed by the amazing team. The overwater villas are outstanding with excellent housekeeping service. And most importantly the F&B team who made our experience unforgettable. It was our fourth consecutive year (and 5th stay) at Le Meridien Maldives. One more time we had a fantastic time and we can’t wait to return in 2026. Before our return, I was a bit worried about staff members moving to different resorts, but actually we have met a lot of familiar faces. We arrived to Male with the first plane (5am Etihad from Abu Dhabi) and around 5:40am we were already at the lounge. We were very happy to meet with Santo who was helping us already on our previous trips. Our sea plane departed around 8am, which meant a bit waiting in the lounge but it gave us time to take shower and get some rest. We arrived at the resort before 9am and as part of welcome celebrations we were met by Jaya from the Front Office and Sandy from Kids Club. It was great to see both of them again. As our room was not ready we were taken to the breakfast restaurant (which we were very happy about) and we got our keys around 10am. We were upgraded and as returning guests recognition we got 50% discount on any 60 or 90 minutes massage. Of course we took the most expensive one to maximize 😃 This year for the first time we were able to leave our kids alone at the kids club. That let us do some snorkeling with my wife. We have seen lots of turtles, black tip sharks, stingrays, eagle rays and countless colorful fishes. We also heard that on two of the mornings other guest have seen manta rays at the house reef. Back to kids club – for us this is one of the more important features of the resort. Our kids know Sandy and Torsa for most of their lives and we knew that they are in good hands. Reesha who joined recently also quickly built relationship with them. What I really like about Kids Club here, is that there are various activities which change every day so kids never get bored. One sad development was that Tia, who was yoga instructor in the previous years has moved to Ritz Carlton. Luckily it turned out that sunrise and sunset classes led buy Tashi and Harry were equally great. My wife even took some private yoga sessions with Tashi and she was very happy about those. We also had some great spa treatments with Tashi (yes, same yoga Tashi 😉) as well with Asih. One new sporty addition is the paddle court, which we had chance to try with Raj & Rupesh and we had good fun. Here I would like to extend a special thanks to Raj who is overseeing Spa and Sport activities as he took fantastic care of us. Also, in case you want to try to influence what movie is played on Thursday or Sunday cinema, your best chance is to talk with Raj with enough advance time😊 Now it is time to comment on the restaurants. We always had great experiences dining here and it was not different this year. What made our dinners even nicer, was figuring out that we can pre-order dishes from lunch menu for dinner. I had WhatsApp contact to Gerryd for Velaa and Lita for Riviera and I would write them around noon what we would like to have for dinner. It worked like magic and also gave my wife many more options that were vegetarian. It was also possible to replace dessert with another appetizer at the Half Board plan. Tabemasu remains our favorite restaurant, but there was something special about each dining venue. At Tabemasu we enjoyed great service from Puspa, Bertha, Neng, Ali, Dewi and Derick. All the dishes were amazing and my wife loved new Matcha Lava cake dessert created by Chef Sanchit. We very much loved our dinners at Velaa. Gerryd took fantastic care of us and he even came to the sea plane jetty to say goodbye to us. We were able to pre-order dishes from lunch menu, always had our favorite table reserved and when we were in rush to be in cinema on time, all our dishes were served very quickly. Riviera was closest to our villa and we enjoyed all the dinners there. Our boys were able to hang out at the beach until food was served. All the dishes that came from Chef’s Arvind kitchen were very tasty and all the staff couldn’t be more lovely: Lita, Faith, Madhuri, Ari and Rishab. As for Turquoise, our breakfasts here were amazing. Each day we would have some eggs (avocado toast with poached eggs if avocados were ripe) from Rizky and Leekko, Indian special from Suraj, soup of the day from Subam, many coffees from Sanal, pancakes from Dilina and fresh fruits from Izam or Miko. As for coffees, I encourage everyone to ask Sanal for his Banana Latte or trying the Le Meridien Sunrise (espresso with fresh orange juice). Staff helping at the tables were also great and some of them like Aapa we know already for many years. I will miss many of the names, but still I would like to mention Jezzika, Nasheeth and Yusuf. As for dinners at Turquoise, we did once Indian Buffet and we were very happy about it. The advantage of the buffet is that you don’t have to wait for your food, you have very wide selection of dishes plus there are live cooking stations. In case of Indian buffet, we had multiple servings of paani poori from Suraj. I have heard that Asian night on Wednesdays is very popular, but sadly we already had different plans for that day. We had a special Beach Dinner by Turquoise, which we can’t recommend enough. We asked for Chef Nikki to prepare our dishes and they were to die for. Knowing how much we liked the Amuse bouche and Starter, she even came to Tabemasu for our last dinner and prepared those two dishes again. It was super nice of her! In addition, on our last breakfast she even made a special salmon bagel for my wife, which she sadly didn’t want to share with me😊 To give credit to Chef Devin and Chef Sanchit, I understood from Nikki that they had their contributions to creation of the great dishes we had during our Beach Dinner. Last but not least, I am very happy that resort is still organizing Elite cocktails. This gave us chances to talk to Thomas, the General Manager, as well to his right hand Nafiu and Head Chef Asaf among other staff members. I hope that the entire team will continue the great work in the years to come. As we had our departure flight to Abu Dhabi early in the morning, we decided to spend our last night closer to Male, at Sheraton. We asked for a sea plane flight around 10am and we got exactly that. It is a pleasure to spend a very pleasant holiday in Le Meridien Resort. I would like to especially praise Gerryd, the manager of Velaa Bar, for taking great care of us during our stay. He showed up in the main restaurant every morning to greet us and actively asked us what we wanted to eat and how we were doing in the resort. He is a very easy-going and enthusiastic person, and a treasure of Le Meridien Resort and Marriott Group. I wish him all the best in his career. I would also like to thank your General Manager Thomas for arranging our accommodation upgrade. He understood our strong demand for a two-bedroom villa due to special circumstances. This is my second time to Le Meridien Resort, and I am very happy to see that the resort is getting better and better under the leadership of General Manager Thomas. Thomas is also the most capable and charismatic general manager I have ever met. Jaya, the front office manager, was also very enthusiastic. She gave us a detailed introduction to the room arrangement on the day of our check-in and helped us successfully check into the two-bedroom overwater villa. In addition, Yante, the guide at the dive center, and their Vietnamese (sorry I didn’t remember her name) and Taiwanese female staff Pin were all very enthusiastic and professional. Every staff at Velaa Bar and Turquoise Restaurant were very enthusiastic and professional.When we checked out, the white girl at the front desk who assisted us in exchanging our credit card for US dollars was also very enthusiastic! The only downside is that our Guest Service Agents Phoebe who can speak Chinese we met was not very professional. Her performance seemed amateurish and not very enthusiastic. I had an exceptional and unforgettable experience at Le meridien Maldives, where the service is truly incredible!. Let me summarize the points that are worth highlighting .. Checking in: We were welcomed by Ali from guest relations. He provided me with his WhatsApp and was always available for any query that we wanted. Restaurants: The culinary experience was a highlight, thanks to Chef Muthu, who skillfully prepared any dish we requested. The breakfast variety and quality were extraordinary, offering a taste of everything with a daily changing menu; special requests were always accommodated with enthusiasm. His chef colleagues , Chef Shoaib , Chef Soloman, Sanaj or Saraj and Sanchin(I think these are the names) . Nazim attentive service each morning and remembering all of our orders meticulously(thank you!).. also , Jezzika , Erma, Izam, Sanal, Uhchu.. and many more apologies for forgetting to mention them all. Riviera restaurant was excellent and we had one of the best paella that we’ve ever had and delicious appetizers(tapas). All staff are well-trained, welcoming, and professional, along with their constant smiles, created a warm and inviting atmosphere! Raj’s, head of recreation’s attention to detail significantly enhanced our stay, and ensured our day started perfectly. The Dj on the island is great! Her music was spot on. Don’t miss you the cocktail guest reception if there is one while you are staying at the hotel. Even the staff from the maintenance team, like Bin , are professional and well trained. Doctor Asim’s availability for minor issues was also greatly appreciated. Finally upon check out, I saw the GM helping staff with carrying the luggage from and to the seaplane, I thought this demonstrated great leadership and worth mentioning at the end of this review.
