The hotel

Where is it

Located on the island of Thilamaafushi, in Lhaviyani Atoll, one of the Maldives’ smaller and underdeveloped atolls. Transfer time from Malé International Airport: 35 minutes by seaplane (remember to pack light for the seaplane transfer as luggage allowance is 20kg plus 5kg hand luggage, per person).

Beach Villas are 82 sqm featuring direct beach access, outdoor bathroom, and 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 2 children.

Half Board option: includes daily breakfast buffet at Turquoise. Dinner, choice of daily theme dinner buffet or a 3-course set menu served at Turquoise (set menu only when buffet is not available), 3-course set menu at Velaa Bar + Grill or 3-course set menu at Riviera Tapas.

Full Board option: includes daily breakfast buffet at Turquoise. Lunch, choice of Turquoise (only when the restaurant is open), 3-course set menu at Velaa Bar + Grill and 3-course set menu at Riviera. Drinks: unlimited consumption of non-alcoholic beverages from the beverage list served in the above-mentioned outlets, only during mealtime (breakfast, lunch or dinner), and to be consumed in the outlets only. Mini-bar - non-alcoholic beverage and snacks replenished once per day.

All-Inclusive option: includes daily breakfast buffet at Turquoise. Lunch, choice of Turquoise (only when the restaurant is open), Waves Café, Velaa Bar + Grill and Riviera. Premium All-Inclusive option: includes daily breakfast served at Turquoise. Room upgrades

Beach Garden Pool Villas feature an open-air bathroom, private pool, and direct beach access from the patio, with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

Beach Pool Villas are the same as above, with a pool located at the front of the villa.

Overwater Villas with pools have either sunrise or sunset views, private pool, and direct lagoon access. The bedroom has 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

Two Bedroom Beach Pool Villas feature direct beach access with a private pool, two bedrooms each with 1 king-size bed or 1 king-size bed and twin beds, and an open-air bathroom, sleeping maximum 6 people.

Le Méridien Maldives Resort & Spa is without a doubt one of the top three resorts we have ever stayed at—and that’s coming from someone who has traveled extensively and stayed at 30+ Marriott-branded hotels worldwide. From the very first moment we arrived, the experience was special. Stepping off the seaplane, we were greeted by warm smiles, rhythmic drum sounds, and a breathtaking view that instantly made us feel we had arrived in paradise. The front desk team was incredibly welcoming, and since we were traveling with three young children, they surprised the kids with adorable turtle plushies and Le Méridien hats. That small but thoughtful gesture immediately elevated our arrival experience. After a hot 35-minute seaplane journey, the welcome drink was much appreciated. I also had a small travel mishap—my Insta360 button peeled off, and I was worried I wouldn’t be able to take underwater photos. Alessio stepped in immediately, found some glue, and I was able to fix it shortly after. That level of attentiveness really stood out. Baku was the one gave us a thorough introduction to the resort and drove us to our villa. She was incredibly friendly, detailed, and made us feel completely at ease. That was just the beginning. What truly sets this resort apart is how personalized and genuinely warm the service is. Being friendly is one thing—but here, the team makes you feel like a VIP through thoughtful, hyper-personalized care. From understanding our family’s needs, to engaging naturally with our young kids and even trying to speak their language to help them feel comfortable—it was all incredibly impressive. Karan and his team deserve special recognition. Karan himself was extremely attentive, proactive, and thoughtful, offering tailored recommendations and always responding promptly. It made a huge difference to our overall experience. One of the absolute highlights of our trip was the Kids Club. Traveling with three young children is never easy, but this kids club is truly magical. On the first day, our kids were hesitant. By day two, they were begging to go—and soon after, they were hopping on the buggy by themselves to get there without us. This completely shocked us. Our children normally never want to do anything without us, especially in an unfamiliar country. That alone speaks volumes about how safe, happy, and welcomed they felt. A heartfelt thank you to Reesha, Sandy, and Fary. The love, care, and energy they put into the kids made a lasting impact—not just fun, but visible growth in confidence and independence. The activities were creative, engaging, and beautifully designed. Honestly, even as an adult, I found myself wanting to join in. The Kids Club alone is a reason we would return. Another tip for families: book the photographer and bring nice outfits. You will not regret it. We’re so grateful we captured these memories, and Menu did an incredible job with us—even while our two-year-old cried through most of the shoot. We now have stunning photos that let us bring a piece of this paradise home. While we may not remember every name, every single staff member—from buggy drivers to restaurant teams to lifeguards—was consistently kind, attentive, and professional. We had an unforgettable stay and will absolutely return in the future. Le Méridien Maldives delivered not just a holiday, but memories our family will treasure for a lifetime. We spent 8 nights in this wonderful resort and it turned out to be the best holiday of our lives. The staff made the whole visit very friendly (we felt we knew each other with all staff on the island after our stay), the beach was amazing, and the food was excellent. We made our stay active with multiple programs, we tried almost everything. More on each below: - Food: we went for the full board package and it was a great choice. The food was great, and more than enough for us. We visited almost all restaurants, namely Velaa and Riviera. * Special mention: Chef Pradeep and the whole Velaa restaurant was Highlight #1 of our trip. They made fantastic steaks that made each dinner special. He and his team walked the extra mile and got a special table for us on our last day. It was a private dinner with a special dish, and we felt very special on our last night. We will return only to experience the hospitality of Velaa alone - Programs: we went for the painting class and the Artist helped us paint 4 pictures together. We liked the first session so much that we went for a 2nd. We would have gone for more but we didnt have luggage space available. The art class is highlight #2 of our stay - Sub-Oceaninc diving experience: we went for the sub-oceanic package, and turned out to be our best sea adventure ever: Mifu was our guide to explore scuba (6 meters deep, seeing sea turtles close, with Cesar). We went on with Mifu to explore manta rays, and sand banks on jet skis and overall oceanic exploration. Cesar helped us find dolphins in another program. Overall, this was highlight #3 of our stay. We visited many Marriott properties (spent in total 250+ nights in Marriott properties with the bonvoy program) but this was the most relaxing experience. We already discussed and planned how can we visit this resort at least yearly, even multiple times. I can highly recommend this resort for both families and couples, for the atmosphere, privacy, dedication of the staff, abundance of the programs, etc. This was truly the best holiday of our lives, and we cannot thank for everyone who made it so special. We went for jetski shark snorkeling with mifu and nutte.first it was so scary but mifu make me comfortable in the water.and I enjoyed it so much that I want to do it again.highly recommended .also miste,yaante and magga was so supportive with us.
