I had such a great time at this luxurious resort. I knew I would from the moment I arrived and saw the pink poolside theme (my favourite colour!) The staff are genuinely very friendly and helpful. The oceanfront Luxury Junior Suite on the adult-only sunset side of the resort had the best view of the beach and pool. I miss going to sleep with the balcony doors open to the sound of the ocean. I loved the layout of the property, offering a family friendly environment with an adults-only section. There was so much choice when it came to dining, from informal pizzas around the pool and takeaway afternoon tea to laidback lunches at Elements and Bluefin beachside Grill. Fine dining at Oro with a live singer and saxophonist is wonderful, and tapas at Brisa must be booked because of the panoramic view! If you can afford to, book a beachside Bubble Dinner by candlelight. Read less

We went from May 16-24 and we absolutely loved our stay. The resort was quiet and calm, which is exactly what we wanted. The weather was phenomenal with a great breeze all day and no bugs. We were relieved that there were no beach/pool chair games while we were there. At any point you can get any spot on the beach and towels were readily available 95% of the time. They were quick to put up the umbrellas wherever you want and get you set up. The water is rough, but we live on the East Coast, so we are comfortable with choppy water. My husband went all the way in and I typically went up to my waist or shoulder. No need for water shoes if you are only going up to your waist. The last two days were full of seaweed, but that can’t be helped. Pool spots were readily available at 9 a.m. and we typically would switch to the pools around 2 p.m. and we were able to snag chairs and an umbrella. Often we were the only ones in the pool. Restaurant menus online are accurate with the exception of the rose brand differed at two restaurants. Breakfast was good with the normal spread and made to order eggs and omelettes. Breakfast at Oro was delicious (chia pudding, eggs benedict). Lunch buffet was good as well, but the a la carte lunch was one of the best we’ve had. Highly recommend bajan fishcake, watermelon fattoush, poke bowl, jerk chicken, shrimp roll, pita, bread pudding, and brownie sundae. Dinner at Oro was very tasty as was the rum selection; also the Italian a la carte was delicious. One night the Italian a la carte was full menu vs buffet appetizers; resort should consider doing this full time. The buffet dinner was nothing special and I would only recommend the first night just because travel days can be long. Brisa was a tasty dinner. Overall, I would say the food is as good as a Secrets/Excellence, but not a step above as touted by many. By far, the weak spot is the coffee shop, really weak lattes. The shakes are tasty. Check in and out process was a breeze. Drinks were strong and the gin selection was top notch. Several of their specialty drinks were very good; drink service everywhere including the beach and pool were awesome. Our Deluxe Club room was spacious, although we did miss having a steamer for clothes. The provided beach bag is a nice touch and especially good for those of us who don’t check bags. Shower was large and never ran out of hot water. One minor complaint was our King was two beds put together vs. a true King. The gym was small but had everything you need (including AC) and was never busy. Overall, we thought the resort was pretty great. Read less

I am disappointed to have to write this review because there were aspects of our stay that we genuinely enjoyed. The oceanfront views were beautiful, the location was excellent, and the food throughout our stay was very good. Unfortunately, a series of room and maintenance issues significantly affected our overall experience. We booked the Luxury 1 Bedroom Oceanfront Suite for a medical trip and were looking for a quiet, comfortable, and relaxing stay. Our first room was extremely noisy, with loud sounds from the pool area and bar. The hotel accommodated our request for a room change the following day, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the second room also had problems. The bathroom leaked and repeatedly flooded the bathroom floor. Maintenance came to address it and improved the issue somewhat, but the rainfall shower still leaks whenever the handheld shower is turned on The night before my medical procedure, the air conditioning was barely working, making it very difficult to sleep. Even after my procedure the following day, I was unable to properly rest because the issue had not yet been resolved. While attempting to repair the AC later that evening, maintenance left our room in an unacceptable condition. We had stepped out while they were working on it. When we returned we were greeted with a used glove by the door and dust and debris from the ceiling covered the bathroom, vanity, makeup bag, and personal toiletries, which was very upsetting and unhygienic. We called the front desk to report it after the housekeeping line was ringing out, but after waiting over 30 minutes, no one came. We eventually had to insist that the manager come to the room herself, and when she did she personally cleaned the area, which we appreciated. To make matters worse, the ac was still barely working and another repair visit was required the following day making it very difficult to get adequate rest after my procedure. By that point, we felt that too much of our stay had been disrupted by ongoing room issues and maintenance visits. Instead of being able to relax, we spent a significant portion of our trip dealing with repairs and room-related concerns. The staff did make efforts to assist, and we appreciate those who tried to resolve the issues. However, the repeated maintenance, cleanliness, and service problems fell well below what we would expect from a luxury property and ultimately overshadowed what should have been a positive stay.
