OBLU SELECT Lobigili

Could not wait to return to this wonderful island and we weren’t disappointed! We were welcomed back to the island by our fabulous host Sarah, the wonderful staff and saxophone player along with welcome back banners & balloons which was so lovely, and of course a red rose & glass of bubbly! We were then whisked off to our beach pool villa for the first week. The villa was beautiful and spotlessly clean, thank you Hazel, with a nightly turn down service and well stocked mini bar replenished daily. Although there is room around the pool we enjoyed moving the sun-beds just outside on the beautiful white beach. It was fairly windy during our stay so we found snorkelling quite challenging but enjoyed the shallow lagoon behind Elena Bar was a very good spot to snorkel and we saw plenty of fish. Food at Ylang was a real highlight of the holiday, absolutely fabulous choice of dishes and all the staff/chefs work so hard and went above and beyond to make our stay so enjoyable . Thank you to the wonderful Elin, Wintri, Raksha, Haydie, Irene, Nisha, Tegu, Setia,Kim,Ayu,Maggie,Hana, Carol, Madheem & Nora. We really enjoyed sunset hour and late afternoon dinner drinks listening to the band at the West Bar. Huge thank you to all the wonderful staff in the West Bar who made us the most perfect cocktails Shaian, San, Dhivya, Xan & Sara. All happy and smiling and absolutely worked their socks off. We enjoyed 3 fantastic meals at the undersea restaurant Only Blu, it was so hard to concentrate on the delicious food & wine with all the amazing fish swimming around just inches away. Truly memorable! Elena spa was also such a relaxing treat and the staff there were also wonderful. We spent the last 7 nights in a sunset water villa with pool which we preferred to the beach villa (no bugs)! Although the sea is quite choppy on the sunset side we managed to get down the steps ok and regularly saw huge sharks and rays from the deck. Again the villa was kept spotlessly clean by wonderful Choki. Sarah our host was a true angel, keeping us informed with the daily activities, checking we were ok and generally looking after us whenever we needed her. I could honestly go on forever about how wonderful this paradise island is and we plan to return as soon as we can. I would advise anyone to visit in a heartbeat! Thank you Lobigilli, see you soon! I had an amazing and wonderful experience staying at Oblu select lobigilli. The island was beautiful and the water villa we stayed in was immaculate. Sarah was so helpful and looked after us very well, she made our stay so special and she always went over and beyond for us. The whole staff are so friendly and hospitable. This was to be our 4th visit to the Maldives and for the last 3 yrs had visited the same resort because of its outstanding service and excellent all inclusive package we also loved the magical seaplane transfer experience. However, we felt it only fair we experience another resort the criterion which we set was, shorter and quicker transfer from Male Airport, Adults Only, with a good All Inclusive Plan. After much research we chose Lobigili and did we choose wisely, you bet we did our 10 nights over late April into early May 26 was very special and memorable. Arrival Met at Male Airport after collecting our suitcases and after a short walk guided to a bustling jetty with lots of boat activity where we were soon to board our shared speedboat to the island. Weather was lovely with blue sky's and lots of happy smiling faces eagerly looking forward to their island Resorts in the Indian Ocean for many I'm sure a real bucket list. Luggage placed on board, life jackets given out and soon we were out the harbour areas into open water we chose our seat at rear of the boat catching a welcome breeze as the crew offered a cold towel and small bottles of water, both were very welcome. Its a short 12-20 min crossing and as the boat approached Lobigili jetty there were staff members waiting to welcome guests along with a saxophonist playing we were approached by Ruchika who introduced herself and informed us she would be our Island Host for the duration of our vacation, and what an excellent host she turned out to be. Guests were walked to to swing bar lounge where glasses of fizz or soft drinks were offered, very welcome too; we were very fortunate to hear that our Water Villa was prepared and ready for us and Ruchika would soon drive us in an Island Golf Buggy there but first there was to be a short drive along the island pathway to explain and introduce us to the island facilities and their locations (really helpful). Villa We love Water Villas and have always stayed in one on our previous Maldives Vacations there is something quite captivating, special and magical sitting on your balcony over the water in the Indian Ocean. Well Lobigili Water Villas are very very good, large, excellent king bed with a good mattress no need for a mattress topper, very well stocked mini bar, the usual mix of soft drinks and beer along with white and sparkling wines, lots of bottled water, chocolate, nuts and chips; the Villa has an outdoor bathroom. lots of space although outdoors it has a roof with high sides so it's only open at the top. With an excellent shower there is a great feeling of freedom that always seem'd to have a welcome breeze. The Villas have everything you want, need and more. There was a couple of small issues regarding the A/C and the Fridge; this is where the island hosts are invaluable because Ruchika resolved these very quickly and efficiently without fuss, she had within 5 mins engineers who arrived resolved the problem and the A/C worked perfectly thereafter, the fridge was also quickly replaced with another which was lovely and cold for the next 10 nights. Ruchika was clearly a star and whenever we reached out to her during our holiday she was always there. Restaurants & Bar There are three Restaurants available at Lobigili these are Ylang Ylang which is Lobigili's own main restaurant, Only Blu the underwater restaurant shared and situated on the causeway between Lobigili and Ailafushi (its sister island) and Gaadiya which is Lobigili's small beachside restaurant next to Swing Bar all are excellent. Included in the Lobi All Inclusive Plan for us on 10 nights were two visits to Only Blue the underwater restaurant and two visits to Gaadiya, Only Blue the underwater restaurant is a real thrill bucket list experience and if lucky you might just see some fair sized sharks as we did on our lunch visit. It was good advice we received to visit once for dinner and once for lunch as they were both different but special, the menus stay the same but there is a wide choice and very good too along with a good selection of wines included and friendly attentive staff. Gaadiya, also entitled us to two visits sitting outside at beachside with a welcome breeze great attentive friendly staff, a good menu choice with a very good Ribeye steak a nice glass of wine what more could you ask for, bliss! Ylang Ylang, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner it offers outside sitting areas and the library and inside airconditioned section both areas offer space, comfortable seating and most of all as other's have highlighted the most oustanding friendly staff you could ever hope for. It was simply a joy engaging with all the girls, hearing from them about their different countries cultures and such a happy friendly time which made our meals even more special. W e are lucky to have traveled to many of the countries where the girls are from so being able to say hello, please, thank you and have fun with the staff was lovely, their kindness and warmth was special. The dinner menus here apart from one garden buffet night pretty much offered a la carte choice dining and if it wasn't on the menu the chefs would do their best to produce it for you always with a good choice of a glass of wine, beer or cocktail. Swing Bar. This is where the pool is located in between the bar and ocean which has sunbeds and umbrellas, then in the evening where the live music duo performs in a small open air pavillion next to it. Again, what sets this calm oasis apart from an a typical blissful resort bar is the oustanding staff, hardworking, friendly, warm and kind everyone no matter where there are from have great English as all the island staff have. Wide cocktail list and if its not on the list the staff will happily make it for you, top shelf branded drinks, good choice of coffees, smoothies and milk shakes with the girls constantly patrolling round the pool and other areas ensuring you glass is never empty. fantastic. At night into late evening there is a very good duo playing with Sophora singing and always willing to try a request such as Adele, Fleetwood Mac, Barbara Streisand sitting with a single malt simply bliss. Spa. We were entitled to two spa visits included in our Lobi Plan and chose the stress buster massage's we can honestly say these were as good as a massage as we have experienced anywhere in Asia or the Far East, thank you girls, bliss. Management Team and Staff. we want to mention all the staff jut simply excellent even walking along the path often the gardeners would be busy working but they would always look up to smile and say hello, David is the General manager and we spoke to him on a number of occasions he was always friendly, open, infectious he clearly loves what he is doing. he has a great resort manager in Nasru again who always had time for us and most days we spoke perhaps about the weather or family always a pleasure, to both of you our thanks and keep doing what is obviously working very well. Finally our thanks and appreciation for what was a wonderful, happy and memorable vacation, to everyone the most friendly, caring, warm, kind staff you could ever meet. Our Island Host. We went for our honeymoon in May 2026. Alpi took care of us and helped us with all our requests, making our stay even more enjoyable. The hotel is truly beautiful, both clean and with a wonderful atmosphere. We would love to come back without hesitation. The only thing that could be improved is the poolside area and the nightlife activities available on the island. Read less

We came to this resort for a short stay of 2 days. The resort is very conveniently located to the airport about 15 min boat ride which was a big plus for us since we had limited time. We had a water villa which we enjoyed a lot and the weather was good. The staff was amazing truly exceptional. Alpi our butler was doing exceptional job to fulfil our every request. From early check in to late check out to excursion bookings and rescheduled boat ride to airport. Koti our room cleaning lady made a surprise last day bubble bath for me and my wife which was a great touch. The food was really good, especially Indian food and a big selection of cocktails and prosecco was high quality. The dining room staff was great friendly and attentive.
