The hotel

In the Maldivian language of Dhivehi, ‘Lobi’ means love and ‘Gili’ means island, so therefore Lobigili is, in essence, the island of love. If you’re looking for a romantic trip for two, this is it. Set in an idyllic location with white sandy beaches and sparkling waters, the adult-only OBLU SELECT Lobigili offers some experiences to make this a trip you will never forget. The largest underwater restaurant in the Maldives, Only BLU offers modern gourmet cuisine with a front row seat to the coral reef – and it’s included in the excellent Lobi Plan. This indulgent plan also includes a complimentary sunset fishing trip and a guided snorkelling trip, so you’ll get to see the best of the island and it’s surroundings after that relax with the included spa treatments. Both the beachfront and over water suites have a modern feel with semi open-air bathrooms and walk-in wardrobes, why not upgrade to the water pool villa for that added luxury of a private infinity pool overlooking the lagoon.

Where is it

Located on the island of Lobigili, just 15 minutes North West of Male International Airport by boat. Complimentary speedboat transfer to and from Malé International Airport.

68 stylishly designed villas, all with air-conditioning, tea/coffee-making facilities, iron and ironing board, complimentary mini-bar replenished daily, robe and slippers, hairdryer, flat-screen LCD TV, in-room safe, separate bath tub and rain shower, and complimentary WiFi access. All villas have 1 king-size bed, sleeping 2 adults.

SunNest Beach Pool Villas feature an open air bathroom, cosy veranda, walk-in wardrobe, and a private pool just steps from the beach.

Please note: all rooms have a minimum occupancy of 2 people. Single occupancy is not accepted.

All Inclusive - The Lobi Plan: includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner served at Ylang-Ylang. Selection of freshly prepared local snacks served between 4:00-6:00pm at West Beach Bar. One a la carte fine dining experience per guest per each four nights stayed at Only BLU (pre-booking required, subject to availability). One dining experience per guest per each four nights stayed at Gaadiya 17 (pre-booking required). Unlimited orders from a wide selection of liquor and premium wines at Ylang Ylang and West Beach Bar, and unlimited orders of signature cocktails from a selected list at The West Beach Bar. Soft drinks, mineralised water, and an assortment of tea and coffee available at all outlets. Complimentary use of snorkelling equipment throughout the stay. Complimentary selection of non-motorised water sports. One complimentary sunset fishing trip per guest per stay (weather permitting). One complimentary snorkelling guide trip per guest per stay (weather permitting). In-villa minibar replenished daily with an assortment of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages along with a selection of snacks. Unlimited access to the over water gymnasium. We had a fantastic stay, everything was already thought of for us making things super relaxing and stress free. All of the staff were friendly, polite and efficient. From making us matcha tea to cooking butter chicken even when not on the menu, every wish was granted. We feel blessed to have visited and would highly recommend.

These villas feature a stunning sunrise view, which turned out to be a massive bonus because it kept the deck beautifully cool in the afternoon sun. We were so glad we saved the extra dollars instead of upgrading to a sunset pool villa, as our deck was the perfect place to relax without overheating.From start to finish, the food, service, and accommodation were impeccable. While the entire team was outstanding and it is hard to highlight just one individual, it would be rude not to give a special mention to Hazel. She looked after our room beautifully and delighted us with so many wonderful artistic surprises throughout our stay. What an amazing start and it continued to get better and better. You must experience this incredible resort. Not only is the resort spotless, peaceful, stunning and all you could wish for, but the staff working here, are incredible. From the beach and garden maintenance staff to the restaurant and bar staff, everyone had a smile and a friend hello. The atmosphere and team work from these lovely people was so refreshing. Having your own allocated resort hostess, was wonderful too. We communicated back and forth with any requests and we were told about the days activities and booked excursions. Mechelle looked after us beautifully The food is absolutely delicious and cooked freshly. And anything you want, they say just ask and they will try their very best to get it for you. Their HUGE prawns were amazing. Our stunning room was a nest villa (205 - not the sunset side) . It was spotless and the bed was so comfortable. The bedding and towels were excellent quality and our mini bar along with snacks were replenished every day. Days were spent, either snorkeling in the beautiful clear sea (take water shoes as the coral can be sharp) paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming in the stunning infinity pool and chilling wherever you wish. Drinks were brought to us by the amazing staff, chilled DJ playing at lunch time and early evening. There are a number of different beaches for you to sit on, which have sunbeds and towels ready for you. Also in the tucked away beaches, there are ice boxes for you to help yourself, with water, cans of soft drinks and beer (lovely touch) We also experienced a couple massage in the spa and that was incredibly relaxing and again the staff were so welcoming and lovely. We went on the sunset boat trip and fishing excursion, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Soft drinks are supplied on the boats. For those who likes sweets, you will need an extra space in your stomach 🍰 Lunch and dinner at Only Blu restaurant was such a cool experience since the restaurant is under water and while waiting on your food, you are enjoying watching the sea life.
