The hotel

In the Maldivian language of Dhivehi, ‘Lobi’ means love and ‘Gili’ means island, so therefore Lobigili is, in essence, the island of love. If you’re looking for a romantic trip for two, this is it. Set in an idyllic location with white sandy beaches and sparkling waters, the adult-only OBLU SELECT Lobigili offers some experiences to make this a trip you will never forget. The largest underwater restaurant in the Maldives, Only BLU offers modern gourmet cuisine with a front row seat to the coral reef – and it’s included in the excellent Lobi Plan. This indulgent plan also includes a complimentary sunset fishing trip and a guided snorkelling trip, so you’ll get to see the best of the island and it’s surroundings after that relax with the included spa treatments. Both the beachfront and over water suites have a modern feel with semi open-air bathrooms and walk-in wardrobes, why not upgrade to the water pool villa for that added luxury of a private infinity pool overlooking the lagoon.

Where is it

Located on the island of Lobigili, just 15 minutes North West of Male International Airport by boat. Complimentary speedboat transfer to and from Malé International Airport. 

Hotel information

68 stylishly designed villas, all with air-conditioning, tea/coffee-making facilities, iron and ironing board, complimentary mini-bar replenished daily, robe and slippers, hairdryer, flat-screen LCD TV, in-room safe, separate bath tub and rain shower, and complimentary WiFi access. All villas have 1 king-size bed, sleeping 2 adults.

SunNest Beach Pool Villas feature an open air bathroom, cosy veranda, walk-in wardrobe, and a private pool just steps from the beach.

Please note: all rooms have a minimum occupancy of 2 people. Single occupancy is not accepted.

All Inclusive - The Lobi Plan: includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner served at Ylang-Ylang. Selection of freshly prepared local snacks served between 4:00-6:00pm at The Swing Bar. One a la carte fine dining experience per guest per each four nights stayed at Only BLU (pre-booking required, subject to availability). One dining experience per guest per each four nights stayed at Gaadiya 17 Food Truck. Unlimited orders from a wide selection of liquor and premium wines at Ylang Ylang and The Swing Bar, and unlimited orders of signature cocktails from a selected list at The Swing Bar. Soft drinks, mineralised water, and an assortment of tea and coffee available at all outlets. Complimentary use of snorkelling equipment throughout the stay. Complimentary selection of non-motorised water sports. One complimentary sunset fishing trip per guest per stay (weather permitting). One complimentary snorkelling guide trip per guest per stay (weather permitting). In-villa minibar replenished daily with an assortment of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages along with a selection of snacks. Unlimited access to the over water gymnasium. Daily live music performances at The Swing Bar. One 45 minute spa treatment per person per every 4 night stay (4 night minimum stay required).

Nest Water Villas are situated over the ocean with direct lagoon access, an outdoor shower, and a private overwater hammock.

SunNest Water Pool Villas are similar to the Water Villas, with the addition of a private infinity pool.

Ylang-Ylang (all-day dining with a la carte menu and live cooking stations). The Swing Bar (poolside bar with live music, afternoon snacks, and drinks throughout the day). Only BLU (underwater fine-dining restaurant). Gaadiya 17 Food Truck (casual dining on the beach, serving a range of exotic game meats). Guests can also dine at Element X at OBLU XPERIENCE Ailafushi as this is included within the All Inclusive plan.

Amazing holiday, the best ever. Perfect for couples, complete relaxation, excellent food and wonderful staff. We spent 11 nights on Lobigilli and it was perfect for our honeymoon. Thank you so much. So many happy memories.

We spent 13 nights on Lobigili adult only island with the most amazing staff all of them are a credit to the island. A few names I remember are Hayden,Rishi and Carol from food and beverage. The bar staff two girls in particular knew our drinks and were very pleasant to chat to. On arrival we were met by Sam our host from the previous year who introduced us to Sarah who was taking over from Sam they made us so welcome. Over the 13 nights we saw plenty of Sarah who was very attentive ensuring our needs were always met and we were happy,such a lovely girl. Rooms are spacious and kept well serviced by the room attendant. Always plenty of towels and products provided. Large garden with seating area,2 sunbeds and a parasol provided. Food is the most varied you would get anywhere and lots of it. Lunchtime mostly buffet while evening is table service in the main restaurant. There are two other à la carte restaurants the under water one is a good experience but we preferred the main restaurant for sheer variety especially of starters and desserts. Lobigili is a peaceful island that we enjoy,I hope it stays like this as time passes rather than increasing the entertainment. There is an option to visit the family island with lots going on if that appeals to you. Makes a pleasant walk around sunset but you can take a buggy across. Hope to revisit the island definitely booking with BA again if I hadn’t this year the holiday would have been cancelled. Read less

We are just home from the most amazing holiday at Lobigili - I want to go back immediately! It is such a special place and we will definitely be returning. The island is a short 15/20 minute speed boat ride from the airport and as soon as you arrive, you are made to feel special. We stayed in one of the overwater villas with a pool. The villa was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. The island itself was surrounded by stunning marine life, we saw reef sharks, trigger fish, eels, rays, turtles and so many colourful reef fish. It felt so special jumping into the ocean from our room and being immersed in natures aquarium! The food was exceptional with lots of choice and the staff couldn’t do enough to make your trip special. A special mention goes to Belle, our main contact at the resort who made sure we had everything we needed and were on time for our excursions and also to Nora, our maid who cleaned our room beautifully twice a day. Also all the staff at Ylang restaurant for looking after us so well. The whole team were so friendly and accommodating. We can’t wait to return! Read less
