This was a fantastic experience and one that I would 100% recommend. We can't wait to return! Our stay was truly amazing. From the moment we stepped off the speedboat and were greeted by smiling faces, a saxophonist playing on the jetty, a glass of fizz, and a red rose, to the moment we departed and were warmly waved off by the incredible staff on the jetty, every moment felt special and we had the most wonderful time. Starting with our Beach Villa (118) – it was spotlessly clean and full of thoughtful touches. We were welcomed with chocolates, a bottle of champagne, and a well-stocked minibar. The villa featured its own plunge pool with direct beach access, and the bathroom was incredible, complete with a huge bathtub and an open-air shower. One of the things we loved most was the sense of peace and tranquillity. Stepping out of our villa and onto the beach often felt like discovering our own private paradise. Many times it was just us, the gentle sound of the waves lapping against the shore, and the tiny hermit crabs scurrying across the pristine white sand. It was incredibly relaxing and provided the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The snorkelling was also incredible. Less than five metres from the shore, we found ourselves surrounded by hundreds of colourful fish, making every swim exciting. and One of the highlights was seeing a young blacktip reef shark swimming in the lagoon side of the island, coming right up to the beach, we watched it swimming around for about 10 minutes. A particularly special touch was the way the resort helped me celebrate my 50th birthday during our stay. The team went above and beyond to make the occasion memorable, decorating our bed beautifully and adding personalised touches that made the day feel truly special. To top it all off, I was treated to not one, not two, but three birthday cakes! It was such a thoughtful surprise and a fantastic way to celebrate such a milestone birthday. The effort and attention to detail from the staff made the occasion unforgettable. The food across all of the restaurants was excellent. Ylang, the main restaurant, offers a buffet-style breakfast and lunch with plenty of choice every day. In the evening, it transforms into an à la carte restaurant, serving a variety of starters, mains, and desserts. The menu operates on a weekly rotation, so during our two-week stay we were able to enjoy a wide range of dishes from both menus. Only BLU, the underwater restaurant, was another unforgettable highlight. The food and service were exceptional, but dining beneath the ocean surrounded by colourful reef fish and blacktip sharks was an experience we will never forget. If possible, I would highly recommend visiting both during the day and at night, as the atmosphere is completely different and equally special. Finally, Gaadiya 17. This was the only aspect of our stay that fell slightly short of expectations. We were fortunate enough to dine there three times, and the menu choices were excellent. However, on each occasion the vegetables were served cold. We mentioned this to the chef during our second visit, but unfortunately the issue remained on our third visit. As this is an outdoor restaurant, perhaps heated plates could help keep the food warm, or the vegetables could be served a little later. The staff throughout the resort were absolutely wonderful and played a huge part in making our holiday so memorable. A special mention must go to Nisha, who looked after us in Ylang . She is an absolute force of nature, made us laugh every day, and always ensured that every need was met. We genuinely looked forward to seeing her each day and were sad to say goodbye. Idhoo, who served us at the West Beach Bar and later at Ylang, also deserves recognition. He consistently provided excellent service, was always friendly, and went out of his way to help. Thank you to everyone at the resort for making our stay so special. We left with wonderful memories and cannot wait to visit again. We chose OBLU Lobigili due to the shirt transfer ride from the airport, 15 minutes by speedboat. From arrival the hotel staff were excellent and covered all your needs. The resort is small but not too small, lots and f secluded beaches and plenty of activities if you wish. Our hostess Ruchika was excellent and couldn’t do enough for us. The room was elegant and spacious and extremely comfortable. We chose the lobi plan, food was really good and the restaurant and bar staff catered to your every need and would bring you special things. A special shout out to Thedja and Nisha. In March, I booked a hotel through Booking.com with a free cancellation option. I cancelled the reservation within the allotted timeframe, yet the hotel still has not refunded my money. This is absolutely appalling behavior on your part; we vacation with the OBLU chain every year, but this is the first time—anywhere in the Maldives—that we have encountered such terrible treatment. This location is a Paradise on earth hidden under the sky, proving a heavenly experience. The resort, the staffs, their true hospitality, the food, the planned activities etc. etc. are at best you can ask for. The rooms are designed to keep you rejuvenated all day long. Best value for money. The best preserved ecosystem, with cleanliness at its best. A special shoutout to our island host Ms. Sarah Tha, Ms. San, Ms. Divya, Ms. Yanzhung and all other who were instrumental in making our stay in the Island a memorable one.
