The hotel

In the Maldivian language of Dhivehi, ‘Lobi’ means love and ‘Gili’ means island, so therefore Lobigili is, in essence, the island of love. If you’re looking for a romantic trip for two, this is it. Set in an idyllic location with white sandy beaches and sparkling waters, the adult-only OBLU SELECT Lobigili offers some experiences to make this a trip you will never forget. The largest underwater restaurant in the Maldives, Only BLU offers modern gourmet cuisine with a front row seat to the coral reef – and it’s included in the excellent Lobi Plan. This indulgent plan also includes a complimentary sunset fishing trip and a guided snorkelling trip, so you’ll get to see the best of the island and it’s surroundings after that relax with the included spa treatments. Both the beachfront and over water suites have a modern feel with semi open-air bathrooms and walk-in wardrobes, why not upgrade to the water pool villa for that added luxury of a private infinity pool overlooking the lagoon.

Where is it

Located on the island of Lobigili, just 15 minutes North West of Male International Airport by boat. Complimentary speedboat transfer to and from Malé International Airport.

68 stylishly designed villas, all with air-conditioning, tea/coffee-making facilities, iron and ironing board, complimentary mini-bar replenished daily, robe and slippers, hairdryer, flat-screen LCD TV, in-room safe, separate bath tub and rain shower, and complimentary WiFi access. All villas have 1 king-size bed, sleeping 2 adults.

SunNest Beach Pool Villas feature an open air bathroom, cosy veranda, walk-in wardrobe, and a private pool just steps from the beach.

Please note: all rooms have a minimum occupancy of 2 people. Single occupancy is not accepted.

All Inclusive - The Lobi Plan: includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner served at Ylang-Ylang. Selection of freshly prepared local snacks served between 4:00-6:00pm at The Swing Bar. One a la carte fine dining experience per guest per each four nights stayed at Only BLU (pre-booking required, subject to availability). One dining experience per guest per each four nights stayed at Gaadiya 17 Food Truck. Unlimited orders from a wide selection of liquor and premium wines at Ylang Ylang and The Swing Bar, and unlimited orders of signature cocktails from a selected list at The Swing Bar. Soft drinks, mineralised water, and an assortment of tea and coffee available at all outlets. Complimentary use of snorkelling equipment throughout the stay. Complimentary selection of non-motorised water sports. One complimentary sunset fishing trip per guest per stay (weather permitting). One complimentary snorkelling guide trip per guest per stay (weather permitting). In-villa minibar replenished daily with an assortment of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages along with a selection of snacks. Unlimited access to the over water gymnasium. Daily live music performances at The Swing Bar. One 45 minute spa treatment per person per every 4 night stay (4 night minimum stay required).

Nest Water Villas are situated over the ocean with direct lagoon access, an outdoor shower, and a private overwater hammock.

SunNest Water Pool Villas are similar to the Water Villas, with the addition of a private infinity pool.

Ylang-Ylang (all-day dining with a la carte menu and live cooking stations). The Swing Bar (poolside bar with live music, afternoon snacks, and drinks throughout the day). Only BLU (underwater fine-dining restaurant). Gaadiya 17 Food Truck (casual dining on the beach, serving a range of exotic game meats). Guests can also dine at Element X at OBLU XPERIENCE Ailafushi as this is included within the All Inclusive plan.

We spent 5 nights in an overwater villa with pool in March 2026. From our arrival and greeting at the airport, everything was perfect. A short 15 min boat ride to the island where we were met by our hostess, Alpi. During our stay, nothing was too much trouble. All communication was through WhatsApp and she was always prompt in her responses. She arranged for a late checkout as our flight home departed at 23:30. The chefs made us an early dinner before our return boat arrived. Our overwater villa was perfect. A beautiful space. The weather was vey hot and humid and the air conditioner and ceiling fan made inside the villa very comfortable. Housekeeping came twice a day and the minibar was restocked daily. Snorkelling off our back deck and we saw plenty of fish, turtles and a reef shark. The gym was amazing. The had a large selection of cardio equipment and the weights room was a mix of free weights and pin loaded machines. The trainers were great and spotted you if you were using heavy weights. We went daily and it was busy early and mid morning but you had enough space and equipment to get a good workout. The spa was a beautiful sauce. We had a couples massage as part of our Lobi package and rebooked for a facial and massage a couple of days later. Therapists Komang and Thing were fantastic and left us feeling relaxed. The food and options were so good. A great selection in Ylang Yang for breakfast, lunch and dinner. As a vegetarian I had a lot of choices and the chefs were always happy to modify dishes for me. We also ate at the food truck and had lunch at Only Blu, the underwater restaurant. This restaurant is shared with the other island and during lunch service children are allowed. The ocean life is amazing and we were entertained the whole time. Lobigili is an adult only island and 95% of guests are couples on their own. There were a couple of groups of 2 couples and one mother and daughter. It was mainly an older crowd with a few couples in their 30s. We’d highly recommend Lobigili and are already planning our return. Read less

It such an amazing & stunning location to have the best relaxed holiday. The resort was excellent, staff were attentive, so accommodating & made you feel at home. Service & food were fantastic. Also treat yourself to the spa & massage. They were the best! Certainly will come back again.

The most amazing holiday we have ever had from the moment we arrived it had a relaxed feeling about the place. We were greeted by our amazing island host Sarah (FG) who was incredible for our entire stay, nothing was too much trouble for her. The island was immaculately kept, the grounds are beautiful. The spa was amazing the treatments were first class. The excursions were amazing, on the Dolphin cruise we saw dozens of spinner dolphins which was incredible. Dining - the 3 restaurants are unbelievably good with an incredible choice of dishes from all over the world. Ylang Ylang the main restaurant was ecxellent & my favourite dishes were from the live Indian cooking station, just delicious. Only Blu the underwater restaurant is a real pinch yourself moment, stunning setting 6.8 M under the ocean. the food & service again were excellent. Gadiyah 17 on the beach was also wonderful. We were here to celebrate my birthday & our 25th wedding anniversary & all of the staff made such an effort to make them so memorable, the service from everyone on Lobigili was outstanding, they remembered your name, your drink orders, the lovely touches in the villas from the HK team, truly touching. We so want to be back soon. All of the staff were incredible but special mention needs to go to Maggie & Nisha in Ylang Ylang, Thank you Nisha the cheese Naan changed my life. Mr Ranil at watersports, a really cool dude with an amazing laugh. Lastly to our Host Sarah (FG) you made our stay so wonderful, we arrived as strangers but departed as friends, Thank you so much. The food was second to none, fresh, plentiful and all diets catered for. We stayed in the adults only section of the island with a visit to the family side only to drop dive kit off. It’s a totally different atmosphere and if we had booked this side we would have been disappointed. However, it is for families whereas we wanted a relaxing time. There is no Reception area. All questions and information is shared via WhatsApp with your host. Our host Ruchika was always there to help, professional and attentive . Nothing was too much trouble. The dive centre was professional. We had four boat dives and on all dives there was only my buddy and me. We had a direct flight with BA from Heathrow. We would choose this option again.
