It was an absolute amazing experience and the perfect place to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had a beach villa with a swimming pool ....unreal how perfect this was Staff are incredibly helpful, friendly and attentive to the smallest detail possible. Food was fantastic, a wide variety for everyone's taste. Cleaning was done to a high standard ( twice daily if you needed too) Spa treatments are a huge + perfect place to relax and be spoiled. Anniversary surprise decorations+ cake was a very unexpected treat. I cannot recommend enough this place...if you want the paradise experience this is your place! Read less

> My second visit to OBLU SELECT Lobigili, and I was blown away all over again, as if it were my first time! It is very rare to visit the same resort twice and feel the exact same sense of wonder and positive shock, but they did it again. > If this is your first time visiting the Maldives, I strongly and definitively recommend that you begin your journey to this breathtaking country at this resort. Simply put, it will make you addicted to visiting the Maldives every single year, showing you the true meaning of genuine hospitality and deep care for guests. You will likely experience the finest, most professional staff service you have ever encountered at any hotel. Just make the booking, and literally everything will be handled on your behalf from the moment you arrive until the moment you depart. > I have two main criteria when evaluating any hotel around the world: the quality and beauty of the rooms, and the staff. But the staff at this resort—starting with Kunti, the wonderful room attendant who took immaculate care of our room and thoughtfully prepared bubble baths for us after a long day of enjoyment, all the way to the management—make you feel like you are the single most important guest on the island, giving you your full due and so much more. > And I cannot forget our personal butler, Michelle, who was exceptional from day one until the very last day, fulfilling all our requests around the clock with a warm and welcoming heart. > Unforgettable Moments That Prove the Resort’s Greatness: > We arrived at the resort literally at 10:00 AM, and unfortunately, our room wasn't ready until 2:00 PM. However, they kindly told us, "Your package begins the moment you arrive; please go ahead and enjoy whatever you like—juices, snacks, and lunch which starts in two hours at 12:00 PM." This was wonderful—we arrived early and made the most of the resort from day one > Another unforgettable moment happened on our departure day. Our return flight was very late at night (8:00 PM), and I had nowhere to go, so I asked if it was possible to extend our stay or get a late checkout. They informed us that a water villa was available, and they would transfer us there for our final day (even though we had originally booked a beach villa). I said I had no objection at all! At 12:00 PM, I was moved to a water villa that was chilled, fully prepared, and stocked with juices and snacks as if I were checking in for another 6-night stay rather than leaving in just 4 hours. > The truth is, the resort wasn’t obligated to give me a room after 11:00 AM; the most they could have done was let me wait in the lobby with a farewell glass of water! But I was beyond amazed—they genuinely overwhelmed me with their generosity, providing a pristine, fully equipped water villa. I couldn't resist: I jumped into the turquoise water and enjoyed every last second. At 2:50 PM (the buffet closes at 3:00 PM, meaning just 10 minutes before lunch service ended!), my wife and I rushed to the buffet to enjoy our final meal at the resort. Afterward, we headed to the lobby to wait for the boat that would take us at 4:00 PM, and they told us we could still enjoy anything from the bar until our departure. > That final day wasn't just a farewell from a hotel; it was a goodbye from a family that loved us dearly and whom we loved back. Once again, I felt a deep sense of sadness upon leaving. > Rating for Every Detail: > * Food Quality: 10/10 > * Room Quality: 10/10 > * Staff Quality: 10/10 > * Island Quality: 10/10 > Quick Tips for Travelers: > * I recommend visiting between September and April so the island shows its absolute best, avoiding the rainy season and enjoying the sunshine. > * Only Blu restaurant (the underwater restaurant) is still the largest in the Maldives, and the food is undeniably fantastic. > * I recommend booking at least 4 nights, because anyone staying longer than 4 nights receives a multitude of exclusive perks—you can ask the resort about them. > * Throughout your stay on the island, you will have a personal host available 24/7 via WhatsApp, fulfilling your every request literally, without a single exception and without any disturbance. > On my second visit, I am still mesmerized and deeply impressed by them, and I was heartbroken upon leaving. I told them from day one that this would be my last visit to this incredible resort—not because I don't love it, but quite the contrary! They showed me that the Maldives holds other secrets of beauty that you can only discover by exploring different resorts. The OBLU Select Lobigili………WOW!! Our second visit to this amazing hotel and stunning Island turned out to be even more memorable than our previous visit, which I would never have thought possible. From the moment we stepped off the speedboat to be welcomed by a saxophone player and a welcome back banner, we felt right at home! The check in was easy, we sat in the West bar, were offered champagne and were checked in, the most relaxing way, Our villa was beautiful, always kept immaculate by our housemaid and the pool and garden which led out to the beach was amazing. The wonderful restaurants, Ylang, Gaadiya 17 and the incredible OBLU Blu underwater restaurant are all fantastic with great food, prepared beautifully. There’s a wonderful spa which we visited and can thoroughly recommend the experienced masseurs. It’s set by a lovely beach where we watched the sunset as we relaxed afterwards. The included sunset cruise was magical and the crew lovely, making sure everyone was comfortable and were happy to take photos! The staff are all amazing, they all do their utmost to ensure everyone is happy and getting the best possible experience. It’s impossible to mention all of the staff who done so much to please, but our hostess for the week was Alya. She did everything possible to assist and please us, as did Mechelle who we are also very grateful to. The restaurant Manager, Carol was always around to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed, she’s excellent. We remembered Lana, who is now a hostess, from our previous visit. Tall and elegant, very capable and friendly, it was lovely to see her again. The waitresses, Kim and Nora, were always trying to please and always smiling. But a special mention to the wonderful Hana, the loveliest of girls who had a permanent smile on her face, you could see that she loved her work, it shone through and it was a real pleasure to have her around, as it was everyone we came in contact with. We were presented with a lovely note from Priya, the assistant front office manager, on behalf of everyone as we left. We had recently married and I was also about to celebrate a special birthday and I can honestly say that there was nowhere else I’d want to be for those special celebrations. Everyone in OBLU did so much to make our stay so very special and memorable. From the housemaid to the restaurant and spa staff, boat crew, even the doctor I had to visit in the medical centre, to the hostesses and management. Being a couples only resort, the atmosphere was much more sedated than neighbouring Ailafushi, but the footbridge between the islands gave us plenty of room to roam on a daily basis. All the amenities were fantastic, the food @ Ylang Ylang and Gaadiya 17 was on point, the drinks were tasty. The in-room mini bar and refreshment hut were also great additions. The all-inclusive package provided a lot of worthwhile activities, weather permitting. Dining at Only Blu was an experience unlike any other, appreciate the waitress for offering us extra scallops! Our island hostess was Ruchika and she was fantastic, always attentive and went above and beyond ensuring our delayed luggage was delivered to our room. Zero faults.
