The hotel

In the Maldivian language of Dhivehi, ‘Lobi’ means love and ‘Gili’ means island, so therefore Lobigili is, in essence, the island of love. If you’re looking for a romantic trip for two, this is it. Set in an idyllic location with white sandy beaches and sparkling waters, the adult-only OBLU SELECT Lobigili offers some experiences to make this a trip you will never forget. The largest underwater restaurant in the Maldives, Only BLU offers modern gourmet cuisine with a front row seat to the coral reef – and it’s included in the excellent Lobi Plan. This indulgent plan also includes a complimentary sunset fishing trip and a guided snorkelling trip, so you’ll get to see the best of the island and it’s surroundings after that relax with the included spa treatments. Both the beachfront and over water suites have a modern feel with semi open-air bathrooms and walk-in wardrobes, why not upgrade to the water pool villa for that added luxury of a private infinity pool overlooking the lagoon.

Where is it

Located on the island of Lobigili, just 15 minutes North West of Male International Airport by boat. Complimentary speedboat transfer to and from Malé International Airport.

68 stylishly designed villas, all with air-conditioning, tea/coffee-making facilities, iron and ironing board, complimentary mini-bar replenished daily, robe and slippers, hairdryer, flat-screen LCD TV, in-room safe, separate bath tub and rain shower, and complimentary WiFi access. All villas have 1 king-size bed, sleeping 2 adults.

SunNest Beach Pool Villas feature an open air bathroom, cosy veranda, walk-in wardrobe, and a private pool just steps from the beach.

Please note: all rooms have a minimum occupancy of 2 people. Single occupancy is not accepted.

All Inclusive - The Lobi Plan: includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner served at Ylang-Ylang. Selection of freshly prepared local snacks served between 4:00-6:00pm at The Swing Bar. One a la carte fine dining experience per guest per each four nights stayed at Only BLU (pre-booking required, subject to availability). One dining experience per guest per each four nights stayed at Gaadiya 17 Food Truck. Unlimited orders from a wide selection of liquor and premium wines at Ylang Ylang and The Swing Bar, and unlimited orders of signature cocktails from a selected list at The Swing Bar. Soft drinks, mineralised water, and an assortment of tea and coffee available at all outlets. Complimentary use of snorkelling equipment throughout the stay. Complimentary selection of non-motorised water sports. One complimentary sunset fishing trip per guest per stay (weather permitting). One complimentary snorkelling guide trip per guest per stay (weather permitting). In-villa minibar replenished daily with an assortment of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages along with a selection of snacks. Unlimited access to the over water gymnasium. Daily live music performances at The Swing Bar. One 45 minute spa treatment per person per every 4 night stay (4 night minimum stay required).

Nest Water Villas are situated over the ocean with direct lagoon access, an outdoor shower, and a private overwater hammock.

SunNest Water Pool Villas are similar to the Water Villas, with the addition of a private infinity pool.

Ylang-Ylang (all-day dining with a la carte menu and live cooking stations). The Swing Bar (poolside bar with live music, afternoon snacks, and drinks throughout the day). Only BLU (underwater fine-dining restaurant). Gaadiya 17 Food Truck (casual dining on the beach, serving a range of exotic game meats). Guests can also dine at Element X at OBLU XPERIENCE Ailafushi as this is included within the All Inclusive plan.

The spa was also a highlight — Nui gave an incredible massage and facial, one of the best spa experiences I’ve had. She was gracious, professional, and clearly committed to making sure guests had a wonderful experience. We stayed here for 10 nights feb/march 2026. We were expecting it to be good - but it exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left we felt truly pampered. We stayed in a water villa with lagoon access which was lovely. It had a large decking area with plenty of furniture and places to relax and direct access into the lagoon. The bedroom part was large with good air conditioning and a ceiling fan and the bathroom was an oasis itself - part open (but completely private) you could hear and see the ocean. Lovely large bath, a hammock over the water, his and hers washbasins, rainfall shower and still enough space for early morning yoga with the sounds of the sea and a lovely overhead ceiling fan! The island is truly a little piece of paradise- the food is lovely - we had 2 trips to both speciality restaurants which were both really good - but the main restaurant was also excellent. We also had 2 lovely massages at the spa and did the snorkelling trip and the sunset boat trip, both of which were very enjoyable. Our island hostess was Sarah, who was fantastic! She organised all our activities, kept us informed what was happening in the resort each day and was very attentive throughout the day always making sure that we were enjoying our stay and didn’t need anything more. All the other staff without exception were very friendly and attentive and everyone made us feel really special. Cannot recommend this highly enough for a truly relaxing holiday in an idyllic location. Read less

Recently my fiancé and I stayed at the OBLU SELECT Lobigili. When I say that the holiday at this resort was one of the most memorable and beautiful trips I've had, it is no understatement! Travel to the resort from the Velana International Airport was seamless. Upon arrival, we were introduced to the most amazing Maldivian welcome before we were introduced to our superb host Mechelle. From then on, the experience can be described as a dreamy paradise with the upmost hospitality you can encounter at any hotel and/or resort. It was my birthday and my Villa was personally adorned with birthday celebratory decorations including, an assortment of balloons, a delicious birthday cake, and Happy Birthday greetings decorated with palm leaves! That is just the start of our beautiful week at the resort. Also at the resort was a state of the art gym with separate cardio and strength training rooms that are immaculate. At the buffet style restaurant Ylang Ylang, the staff were Amazing and so genuinely friendly, making us feel like we were truly home. The whole entire staff. Too many names to name. The Elena Spa was yet another gem! So much so that we booked another appointment for treatment. Ching, Nui and Komanq were in particular memorable. The villa was outstanding and romantic in every way possible! The Swing Bar also was divine with the staff as jovial as all of the staff at Lobigili. The underwater restaurant Only Blu was a special treat for the eyes as you dine while exotic fish and other marine life serve as the backdrop. What a fabulous time we had here. From the start to the finish our holiday was made perfect, the staff are immaculately turned out and are all so incredibly polite and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for them. You are always welcomed with a lovely smile. The grounds are immaculate and well maintained, our room was serviced daily plus a turn down service. The pool and beach areas were immaculate too. The food was absolutely fantastic with so much choice, we do not eat meat and it was lovely to see such choice from cuisines around the world . The desserts were to die for. The sunset cruise was lovely and the underwater restaurant was incredible. The spa treatments were second to none and the cocktail hour with canapes and a fire show was brilliant. We had one small issue where we had no hot water but this was sorted within a couple of hours with a new thermostat being replaced . Problems can occur anywhere but it how an issue is dealt with. Alpi was our host, she was so lovely, kind and helpful, all the staff are an absolute credit to the owners of Obligili. It is probably one of the only places we visited where we genuinely did not want to come home. Thank you for such a memorable holiday we hope to visit again and cannot recommend Obligil enough.
