It's very difficult to describe in words what I feel about this resort. Not only does it have the most beautiful coral reefs and landscapes I've ever seen, but it's also excellent in terms of food and accommodations. And for me, the most special thing was the staff who work there. They not only help you with everything you need to have the best possible stay, but they are also true friends. I've been twice already, and if possible, I will definitely return in the future. I highly recommend hiring the photographer to have unforgettable pictures of your experience. Best regards to all. Fantastic resort in the middle of Maldives! The staff is always welcoming and available to satisfy your needs. We spent 5 beautiful days in the 2 bedrooms beach villa with pool. The villa is very spacious and always clean. A big Thank you goes to: - The cleaning guy which kept our villa always tidy and prepared a beautiful surprise for my birthday. - CHEF RAHUL which always satisfied our special requests and made sure we were always happy with the food. - All the guys from the Sang’s bar! - Last but not least Mr SHAVI from the restaurant which made sure we had an unforgettable private dinner during my birthday and made the kitchen prepare a seafood platter for the kids during the gala dinner. We stayed in room 603 for our honeymoon🫧 the best room service and room condition, and this place is definitely heaven😘 the food changes every day, I was worried it would always be the same since it's the main restaurant, but it was my mistake!! 🤣 Every morning, lunch, and evening, new dishes were waiting for us, and there was a lot of Asian food prepared, making it the best meal time! 🍴 Although room 603 is a special room and may feel far from the main street, it was very nice that our friends always provided driving services with their buggy car at any time. Myself and my husband Martin have just returned from an unbelievably amazing 2 weeks holiday at this resort to celebrate my 60th Birthday. Having never visited The Maldives before and after much research we chose Oblu Select Sangeli and booked through Virgin Holidays. We opted for a beach villa without a pool as we wanted to have immediate access to the beach, a few feet away. The room was spacious, with a large comfortable bed, flatscreen tv, day bed, fridge, tea coffee making facilities which was restocked daily with a selection of drinks and snacks. There was a large spacious dressing room with plenty of storage and a safe. A large indoor outdoor bathroom and a good variety of complimentary toiletries. The villa was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. Outside the villa was a small private garden with a day bed, lush tropical planting and even a clay pot with fresh water and a handmade ladle to rinse the sand off your feet. Dressing gowns, beach bag, flip flops, life jackets, umbrellas (although we didn’t get any rain ) were all provided as well an ironing board on request. In fact they had thought of everything and any extras we needed were promptly delivered to our room by the Housekeeping staff. A few feet from our villa was the beach, fine white sand, and lovely warm calm sea. Our own sun loungers and large parasol. The beach villas without a pool are situated on the south side of the island which tends to be quieter and most days we have the beach to ourselves. Some days we got up early to watch the spectacular sunrise from the comfort of our sun loungers, and in the evenings we could also watch the amazing sunsets. The snorkelling was great on the south side too. We also spent time during the day on the north side of the island which was more lively and had better variety of sea life in the house reef. There was a lovely breeze on the north side and plenty of sun loungers by the main pool / beach where the staff served drinks. The food at Sangeli in the Coutryard was amazing with a huge variety of hot and cold food at each meal. Wonderfully prepared cuisine from around the world to suit everyone’s taste and needs. Lots of fresh fruit and salads. We had 4 visits to the two a la carte restaurants included during our stay where the food and service was outstanding. On my 60th Birthday the wonderful staff had laid a surprise special table for me for our evening meal on the beach, they sang Happy Birthday and even a birthday cake and a gift. Later that evening when we returned to our room I was received a further surprise as they had decorated our room and bed which was beautiful. A truly wonderful day for me. Other included activities were an evening fishing trip and four complimentary spa treatments each. We also went on a trip to swim with the Nurse Sharks which was spectacular and a first for us. This is a truly beautiful resort and we were blown away by the hospitality and genuine friendliness of ALL the staff we encountered who went above and beyond our expectations to make this a wonderful experience. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Special mentions must go to Brett ( The Resort Manager ) Mou Deputy Manager, Head Chefs Ravi and Denang including chef Tori and all their amazing colleagues. Restaurant Staff Iqbal, Martini, Sia, Shamhaan ( Coco for making us laugh ! ) Kelina, Dheenu, Ena ( there are other restaurant staff in one of the below photos we would also like to mention but cannot remember all their names) All the Spa staff who were so good at their job. A special mention to our dear friend Kyra and Fire who greeted us every evening with our favourite cocktails and laughed and giggled with us. Also to Bappa, Maayal and Amaan for keeping our villa immaculate and well stocked up every day. A special mention to Chef Danang who without prompting prepared a special meal for us and we were delighted to spend time with him having a master class cookery lesson preparing two of our favourite meals, he is a wonderful human being and is a credit to the resort. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful - stunning views, crystal-clear waters, and a real sense of peace and luxury throughout. The service was exceptional; every single member of staff went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. The food was unreal - every meal was delicious and beautifully presented. A special mention must go to Chef Pramod, who truly made our dining experience incredible. He went out of his way to create dishes we loved, and everything he made was so flavorful and perfectly cooked. We were extremely happy and grateful for his personal touch and attention. We also want to highlight Kader, our room cleaner, who was friendly, approachable, and always ensured our room was spotless and comfortable. His attention to detail was fantastic. The evening entertainment was fantastic - Percussion Passion, the Saxophone lady, DJ, and Zaki were all amazing and brought such great energy, making every night fun and memorable! Mr. Jaiz and Adam also helped make our stay extra special, their warm hospitality and professionalism really stood out. We can’t recommend OBLU SELECT enough - it exceeded all expectations in every way. We would highly recommend this resort to friends and family and can’t wait to return ourselves! Read less
