Where is it

Located on Ailafushi Island in Male Atoll, and connected to the neighbouring island OBLU SELECT Lobigili by a 270m long jetty. Complimentary speedboat transfer from Velana International Airport on arrival and departure, taking approximately 15 minutes.

Ocean View Rooms are snug, homey, duplex-style one-bedroom villas, smartly designed to maximise space and comfort, and with a veranda with comfy daybed. Beach Villas are just a few steps from the beach, with a private outdoor veranda and garden, inviting interior, walk-in wardrobe leading to a spa-like bathroom, double vanity, and a semi open-air bathroom. With 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

Water Villas stretch into the dazzling lagoon, and are accessed by wooden jetty. Each water villa is shaped like a traditional Maldivian Boat – a ‘dhoni’ – creating a feeling of a romantic hideaway. With a private deck, and a staircase into the water, and a semi open-air bathroom. 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

Ocean Family Two Bedrooms are the same as the Ocean View Rooms, with the addition of a second bedroom with bunkbeds in a story book theme for children, 2 bathrooms, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 2 children.

We went to Oblu in July 26 for 2 weeks to celebrate our honeymoon. We chose it due to its exceptional reviews and activities for the kids. It did not disappoint. The kids club was great Ruwani and all the girls at kids club were amazing with the kids and they loved it so much. There was a good variance of activities (Kids ages 4&6 for reference). They did crafts, painting and learned lots about Maldivian culture at the same time. The resort itself was very clean and easy to get around. The grounds were so well maintained and the landscapers were always busy doing improvements and maintenance. The staff at the front desk were so helpful when we booked a wee trip to Malé for the day. From the moment you arrive at the airport you’re so well looked after. And with only a short speedboat ride made the location very easy to get to. The staff in the dining room were so helpful and accommodating. Niya was my son’s best friend for the full trip. The chef was so accommodating when the kids were being fussy and made a decent portion of chicken nuggs to make sure they ate something. The food selection was so good - the curries were a personal favourite. There was a good mix of food that was varied between the breakfast lunch and dinner and also not the same every night. My only suggestion would be a bigger fruit selection. Ahmed looked after our room so well and was always so polite. The family room was spacious and bright and the direct access to the beach was a winner. Our little section of the beach was so quiet and lovely. The shuttle buggies around the resort were very handy for tired legs but it was also very easy to get from one end to the other by walking. The buggy drivers were excellent also and nothing was ever a bother for them. The extra activities were amazing. We went on a shark snorkelling trip which was great fun and really special memories. My son didn’t want to go in but the guys let him drive the boat for a bit on the way home so the day was still a great memory for him too! The slide into the sea and the trampoline are a great addition and the foam parties at the pool were a lot of fun. Maldivian night with the traditional food and music was great and the fire shows are amazing also. Overall we had the best time and will for sure be back! Read less
