The hotel

Non-motorised water sports are included for 15 minutes a day, as is use of the over-water gym, so those who like to keep active will have lots to enjoy. This is a fun, lively island with lots going on including the daily DJ around the pool and live bands in the evening, but if you fancy making your stay even more special, why not head underneath it? Located on Ailafushi Island in Male Atoll, and connected to the neighbouring island OBLU SELECT Lobigili by a 270m long jetty. Complimentary speedboat transfer from Velana International Airport on arrival and departure, taking approximately 15 minutes.

Ocean View Rooms are snug, homey, duplex-style one-bedroom villas, smartly designed to maximise space and comfort, and with a veranda with comfy daybed. Beach Villas are just a few steps from the beach, with a private outdoor veranda and garden, inviting interior, walk-in wardrobe leading to a spa-like bathroom, double vanity, and a semi open-air bathroom. With 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

Water Villas stretch into the dazzling lagoon, and are accessed by wooden jetty. Each water villa is shaped like a traditional Maldivian Boat – a ‘dhoni’ – creating a feeling of a romantic hideaway. With a private deck, and a staircase into the water, and a semi open-air bathroom. 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

Ocean Family Two Bedrooms are the same as the Ocean View Rooms, with the addition of a second bedroom with bunkbeds in a story book theme for children, 2 bathrooms, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 2 children.

We had a very relaxing 6 days stay in Oblu Ailafushi. The care of the staff and the people made it more special and memorable for us, from the room service, buggy drivers, servers at the restaurant, bartenders, and the entertainment Band. I celebrated my 40th birthday and the server in the restaurant surprised me with a cake with greetings during dinner. The Band even sang for me and the room service made a very cute greeting in our bed on my Birthday. I appreciate all the kindness of the staff who are always smiling and greeting us everywhere. There’s a wide range of food in the restaurant with international cuisine like Pasta and Pizzas up to Asian Cuisine which changes its theme every meal time (Vietnamese, Malaysian, Chinese, Korean), and also a special corner for Indian and Maldivian local cuisine that are very well prepared. The cakes and desserts are also the best I ever experienced in an all-inclusive dining, as well as the cocktails in the Bar. The atmosphere in the bar is great especially during at night because of the Live Band making the people wanna dance. The singers Kat, Jean and Joy are exceptionally talented and stunning and they even learn songs requested by the guests even of different languages just so they can engage more with the crowd. Even at day time I had fun with the various activities at 360 Bar, like the massage lesson and when I learned to make my cocktail and experienced to be a bartender with Ricki and Shehan. We stayed both in the Ocean and Water Villa and both rooms are spotless clean. The entire resort is very well maintained because of all the hard working people mending the plants and the surroundings in general. The main beach near the pool is quite stony though but the beach in the Family Villas are finer and shallow that makes them kids friendly for swimming and snorkeling. The security can be improved especially during late hours at night for the safety of the guests and the staff, like one incident where a drunk guy went up near the stage interrupting the performers. The water activities could be more affordable, though we never tried any of the non-motorized ones offered for free. It was our first time in Maldives and I would say staying in Oblu Ailafushi is of great value and will definitely recommend staying in here over again. Read less

The main issue is the slowness of them responding back to emails and not refunding the extra amount paid for a SCUBA course that we were not able to finish due to health reasons. Kasun makes the best Cocktails and is the most polite and kind barkeeper at x360 bar we have meet. We had a really great time here and he was definitely a reason for that. All in all we had a great experience and he made it even better.
