Oleo Cancun Playa

Cancun, Mexico

Star rating

The hotel

The sculptural ice-white architecture and matching monochrome interiors of Óleo Cancún Playa give it a calmness that’s a far cry from the buzz and colour of your setting — right at the start of the famously vibrant Cancún Hotel Zone. The dedication to ‘white’ is only really interrupted by flashes of blue — homage to the sea and surf just steps from the hotel. Overlooking the beach, the infinity pool adds a touch more turquoise, with the pool bar’s tropical-inspired cocktails adding their own shots of colour. You’ve got spa treatments, complimentary WiFi, an art workshop, and restaurant menus that take you from Japan to Mexico and Peru, with stops on the way for comfort food, international favourites, and bakery treats.

My stay at Oleo Cancun was wonderful, I had high expectations and they still managed to exceed them. The service was very welcoming and we had a great view of the ocean. You really get a little bit of everything and it’s not far from the airport and the mall. Special shoutout to Kevin the bellboy and Miguel at the bar.

We really enjoyed our stay at Oleo. We stayed at 2 other hotels in the hotel zone, and found that our stay at Oleo was the best of the 3. We felt that there was great value for money and that the environment was suited to couples looking for great customer service and overall relaxing environment. We enjoyed the food, particularly at Hakka restaurant and the breakfast buffet and enjoyed the drinks selection. Our Inspira room had an incredible view (although we felt it was worth it for the room, otherwise didn’t see a benefit to the “Inspira” experience unlike other hotels with different classes of rooms). We paid to use the spa area (a shared environment but no one else was there) and found this very peaceful. Josefina provided an exceptional relaxing massage! The beach wasn’t swimable while we were there due to seaweed and rough waves. Read less

The staff made us feel like family from the moment we arrived, in particular Roberto, Charlie, Enrique, Felipe at the bar, Rambo, Geri, Vanessa, Felipe poolside —always friendly, attentive, and ready to help. Rooms were spotless with breathtaking ocean views, and the food at both the buffet and specialty restaurants was excellent. The beach and pools were clean, relaxing, and never overcrowded. This is the perfect spot if you’re looking for a peaceful, boutique-style resort with top-notch service and gorgeous surroundings. We left completely refreshed and can’t wait to return! Read less

One of the best all inclusive experience. The team was super accommodating to my wife's pregnancy needs especially the waiter Marcilino in the restaurant Hakka and the chef who were super patient and basically did the impossible enable customisation of sushi for my wife. The team (Julia and Alberto) even helped us book ride to Merida after exploring all options including the train I really felt they cared about their customer even post them departing. I loved the room it was soo good that going downstairs was really not necessary because of the amazing view. I would love to visit again. The food was actually one of the best I've experienced throughout all my stays in all inclusive resorts the quality of the beef was superb. For a Muslim I always found options and delicious ones. 20/10 experience Read less
