Wow! We've had the perfect start to our Holiday. After a long flight, we were greeted at the airport by two lovely, smiley Ozen staff. They instantly made us feel welcome. We were then taken to the Ozen lounge, where refreshments and wifi were available. Whilst we awaited our boat transfer to the island. The wait was literally 5/10 minutes. We’ve done seaplane transfers, on previous visits to the Maldives, which can be very hot and you have a much longer wait. The Ozen boat is pure luxury. With WiFi, water offered and definitely not hot like the seaplane. Around 20 minutes into the transfer,  one of the crew came in and said there were dolphins up ahead, if we would like to go out front and watch them. Obviously, it's was a unanimous YES, from everyone onboard!  It was an amazing sight. We've been on a Dolphin Trip in the Maldives before, but I'd say this was even better, as they were a bit closer and there was only us and another couple on the boat. So it just felt so special and personal. The Dolphins slowly dispersed and we set back off on our transfer. We arrived after about 50 minutes (including watching the Dolphins) The welcome we received was something else! Staff serenading, and singing with drums. Instantly, we were greeted by our personal butler Blue. Who took us into reception where champagne or juice was offered and a foot and leg massage. What we thought was an extra special touch, was the managers came over to personally greet us and introduce themselves. Including the general manager Elisabeth, which we thought was so lovely of her. We were then whisked off by Blue, he's very friendly and a welcoming guy. He took us on a quick tour of the island and gave us some info along the way. Then he took us to our '2nd Home' as he called it😄 He talked us through all the restaurants reservations he’d made for us and set us up with his WhatsApp, if we needed him for anything at all. Rooms are spacious and well presented. The resort is a bit older and Rooms/Decor are more rustic and traditional than others we've visited, we like the Traditional feel. But if you like it more ultra modern, it might not be for you.… Our bags were also already in our room for us, which is something we haven’t had before. We’ve normally had to wait for our luggage. Which we thought was a really smooth touch to the check in too. Not necessarily a big thing, but sometimes it’s the small details that make a big difference. The bed is very large and comfy. We’re on the Sunrise side and we noticed they have put velcro on the gaps in the curtains to help stop the sunlight coming into your room too early. We are both 'early birds' and like to watch the  Sunrise most days, but for the days we didn't, it's something that's greatly appreciated! Again, it’s all in the small details. Outside Decking area on the Sunrise side is equipped with a couple of sun loungers a sofa in the shade if you wanted to escape the sun and a netted hammock, where you can lay and watch the fish beneath you, which is a lovely touch....it’s a great spot for watching the sunrise too! Food here is exceptional! So far, in the evenings we've eaten at the Indian (Indocyleon) Peking (Asian) and Palms, and they've all been amazing.  The 1st night at the Indian we had a little bit of Rice and Bread left over at the end of the meal and our waiter suggested we each have another small portion of curry so we could finish the Rice and Naans off. Which we thought was so lovely of him. Palms is very nice in the evenings, you have a menu to choose off but also the buffet is available for salads and desserts etc. I had the Chicken Starter and Angus Beef off the Menu and both were beautiful and cooked to perfection. Peeking, I was very much looking forward to trying this, as I really like Asian food and I wasn't disappointed! Really lovely food and service, from Siri, our Waitress. The Salt and Pepper Chicken Starter was particularly delicious, along with the hot and sour soup and Sichuan beef. In the mornings, for Breakfast it's Palms. It has a really good buffet for your fruits, pastries and cereals etc. Then Ala carte for your eggs, pancakes, waffles.  Lunch here is also great, with a vast selection of salads, sushi and again al a carte options for mains. The beach bar also serves light lunch options with salads, panini’s, sandwiches and burgers and a great selection of ice creams and sorbets. We've been to Lonu for Lunch today, which is a Maldivian Restraunt with a modern twist. This is included once in your stay. You can either try every course to share. Or order individually from the menu. We chose to try the full menu, to share. Everything is so fresh and delicate, and everything was explained in great detail, with so much pride, by our server. I didn’t manage to catch her name, but we really appreciated her attentiveness. The food was beautiful, as was the view we had of the beach. Last night we had a special meal on the beach. There was so much incredible food! The steak was particularly exceptional, which we thanked the chef for when he came out to ask us how everything had been. One of the main things that attracted us to this particular resort, is their underwater restaurant, M6M. Blue had already made our reservation for us for Saturday evening. We’re so excited to try this, the menu looks amazing and I’m sure the experience will be nothing like we’ve ever had before! I may end up doing a separate review for this. All staff are incredible, but some do deserve a special mention! Blue: Our Butler, he went above and beyond with helping us settle into our stay and arranging our excursions. He also kept us upto date on a daily basis with anything else that was happening around the Hotel and reminding us of what we had on for that coming day. Siri: One of the waitress’s at Palms and Peking. She was very attentive, keeping our drinks topped up and she was always happy to help, with a lovely smile. Even remembering how we like our tea and coffee, in the morning. Maria: Another waitress at Palms, she couldn't do enough for us, always service with a beautiful smile. Imraan: Our Cleaner, keeping our room (217) spotless and again, always had a huge smile. It’s been a pleasure knowing him for our stay. We absolutely loved the suprise he left us with our bed decoration, after our dinner on the beach. It was beautiful and his hand written message was so lovely, thank you! We’ve got just under a week left here, so any questions feel free to ask. Thank you Ozen Maadhoo and your amazing staff, for what has so far been an amazing holiday and ensuring we make memories to last a lifetime! 🫶 Phil & Jo xx Read less

From the moment you arrive at Velana International airport, the team from Ozen Life Maadhoo are there to take good care of you. We were immediately taken to their own airconditioned lounge and given refreshments, before being whisked off to an awaiting speedboat and the 45-minute trip to the island. Having the boat to ourselves was pretty special.   As we arrived at the pier we were greeted with a very warm welcome from staff, including our butler, Blue. After a painless check in, and a rather wonderful foot wash and massage, we were taken on a tour of the island before being shown to our accommodation.   We travelled with our 2 daughter (17 & 24), so splurged on an Earth Pool Pavilion. It was the ultimate luxury with L shaped infinity pool, fab bathroom, comfortable beds, and very importantly, a mini bar topped up daily with Champagne!   Throughout our stay our room was attended twice daily but this never seemed to interfere with time relaxing at the villa. The fact you could just walk a few steps to a deserted beach with your own sunbeds, white powdery sand, and beautiful turquoise sea, just felt so very special. We were in room 503 and so on the best side of the island to watch the sunset.   Blue provided us with bikes, and whilst at first, we walked everywhere, it wasn’t long before we were enjoying cycling to and from the main Palms restaurant and other locations.   As a family we do love a good buffet and found the quality and choice in the main Palms restaurant to be outstanding. If you are a nature lover, you’ll enjoy watching the rather comical, White-breasted Waterhens trotting by while you eat!   Dining in the underwater M6M (Minus Six Metres) restaurant is a must. You can visit on a Thursday afternoon for a talk by the resort’s resident marine biologists (great), but I recommend eating there in the evening. The food and service is amazing, but you may find the site of sharks swimming by just distracts you. Little. Unique and unforgettable.   We also enjoyed eating at the traditional Indoceylon restaurant, and we found all the staff, without exception throughout the resort, including in the poolside bar and gin bar, to be so friendly and polite. Nothing was ever too much trouble.   We used the resorts snorkelling equipment and kayaks and paid extra for some of the motorised activities. There is no house reef, but I was still able to see plenty of fish, including the baby black tipped sharks that swim up and down the shore, and a baby ray that narrowly avoid my feet. Also, an absolute must is the additional trip to swim with sharks. Whilst I wasn’t quite brave enough, the others said it was the best thing they had ever done. They also swam with turtles, and we saw dolphins. It’s worth the extra money.   This is our second stay in the Maldives, and what set this island apart was the fact it never ever felt crowded. There was a mix of adults and families, but you could always find a place for peace and quiet, a seat or table in the bar, and you never had to wait long for service. It all just felt so relaxed, and we loved it.   Of course, holidays must eventually come to an end, but again, we did not have to worry about anything. We had the speedboat to ourselves, and Ozen staff took very good care of us. In fact, when we reached the airport, a gentleman called Sank took care of our bags all the way through security to check in, we didn’t have to handle them once and felt rather ‘VIP’.   Thank you to everyone for making our stay so wonderful, we will be back.   There are too many to name everyone, but Elizabeth (the GM), it was lovely to meet you and your staff, including; Dinesh, Maria, Nasheed, Ahil, Durga, Shazeen, GA4, your exec chef whose name has escaped me, and lovely Blue. My husband and I are still talking about this vacation as one of the best in our lives. We have been to all 4 Hawaiian islands, and this doesn't compare. The Maldives is truly one of a kind--secluded, quiet, and we felt like we had the entire resort to ourselves when it was at full capacity. We stayed in an overwater pool villa, facing the west for sunsets. The outdoor bed, and the plunge pool were simply perfection. We spent hours in the pool looking at fish and watching the fishing and sunset dhonis pass by. The supersize king bed was so comfortable. The staff--outstanding. Shout out to our butler Thabbish (yes, you get a butler who you communicate with via Whatsapp)--consider your butler your personal concierge. Our housekeeper was amazing--so kind and considerate, and created a special anniversary bed decoration along with a tub full of rose petals. Additional shout outs to Rahul, Siri and Rajul at JDV--the staff is so friendly, will accommodate any of your requests, from mixed drinks to food. The white sand beaches were pristine, and we stared at the water for hours. I just can't tell you enough--go!!!! It is a haul of a trip from the USA, but so worth it!!!! The all inclusive dining and drinks allowed us to relax and eat and drink whatever and whenever we wanted. I chose this resort over Bollifushi because of the dining options and the M6M restaurant--which was so special and unique. Thank you for an incredible week that we will never forget.
