OZEN LIFE MAADHOO

We have just returned from another amazing stay, our 13th at Ozen Life Maadhoo. I have reviewed before but not for a few years and I felt another was needed to empathise the continued excellence throughout the island. This visit was once again in our favourite Earth Villa with pool. The villa was immaculately serviced twice daily by housekeeper Saluudin who was polite, cheerful and clearly loves his job. Whilst the villa is still amazing it was showing some signs of maintenance and updating required, especially to roof thatch and internal walls. The pool and gardens were maintained daily by the excellent gardens team that keep the whole island immaculate. We also felt a little disappointed with the new sea barrier that has been placed which spoils the view from the beach. The beach though is still beautiful and our favourite place on the island. We loved going to the JDV bar late afternoon for snacks and drinks whilst laying in the cool on the four poster beds in the shade, with the fans going overhead and a nice breeze blowing through. The JDV bar was managed by the ever smiling happy team led by PJ. Great service from his team that included Zaain, Hussain and others whose names I can’t remember. A great place to stop off after our evening meal for drinks around the pool. The only disappointment was the music played by the DJ some evenings, it was quite loud and not the type of music you would expect to hear in the Maldives in my opinion and this was felt also by a few other guests we spoke too. I must say the music played during the day was relaxing and felt like a chilled atmosphere for the Maldives. M6M restaurant was a great experience again with a welcome change to the delicious menu. The service as always was amazing from Teresa who we have known for a number of years but she is obviously a welcome addition to M6M and deserves a special mention. The quality of the food and wine pairing was exceptional. It was lovely to catch up with the happy Danielle in the bar, such a great asset with a character to match, but we still wish she was working at the JDV bar where we could see her big smile more often. The restaurants of Peking and IndoCeylon served dishes from a wonderful menu. We enjoyed the Peking so much we went back for a second visit on our last night. Great service again with a bar that delivers amazing cocktails, wines and champagne. The highlight of our stay for dining was Lonu for lunch. We are not lunchtime eaters but we missed breakfast that morning and so enjoyed the food we were served there in such a beautiful setting. The dishes were delicious with amazing Maldivian flavours. A must if you decide to visit. The Palms main restaurant was as always a great all day dining restaurant but we did experience a few minor service issues which is unusual. The quality of the food was outstanding from the chefs and a few names that served us well was Shazeen, Ali and Erika. Our private beach bbq was served and cooked beautifully in a lovely setting and very much appreciated. This island continues to deliver and has the benefit of being only 45 minutes from the airport. The island is immaculately serviced by their wonderful staff from all departments. Will we return for another stay…. Most definitely, it feels like our paradise. A big shout out to the airport staff from Ozen that takes care of you with your cases and check in procedures. Thank you Sanek. Finally, we were looked after and kept in contact with our butler Forty who as he always does, leaves us to get on with what we like doing, but maintaining enough contact by WhatsApp and often arriving at our villa just in time for a lift to the restaurants in the evening. A very experienced and professional service from Forty who also it feels, is like a friend that we are so pleased to see on each return. This was our 3rd visit to this beautiful island. Again we were treated like royalty, every second of our 14 night stay. We were concerned re the building work that people have mentioned previously. However on arrival you would never know building work was there . No noise and not seen! Our Beach Bungalow (110) was attended & always very immaculate. Salauddin was our room attendant visiting twice daily to clean and made fantastic towel art. Salauddin for our 41st wedding anniversary, he made a beautiful picture on our bed, also with lots of colourful balloons. Outside he had filled a bubble bath with rose petals. The landscapers made large hearts out of palm leaves with rose petals up to our patio doors. That day we had lunch at M6M. Served by Danielle in the bar, with Tattinger Champagne & a selection of cheese before lunch. We were taken down to M6M by our very dear friend Terry who we know from previous visits & since our last visit she has been promoted which we are so happy about. Terry provided superb service & the lunch was outstanding as always. Special thanks to the chefs. Next we would like to thank all of the wonderful staff at the JDV. Another promotion here for another very special friend Prajwal & all of the staff here; Tharika,Ruki,Rejin, Mari, Anu’s, Kien, Meesham,Danielle,Zain,Hussain,Umair, Noor & Sanjay. Making the best cocktails ever with professionalism. Light lunches were perfect here too. The Palms restaurant was wonderful for breakfast, so many different foods to choose from.Special thanks to Dalouska for preparing amazing tropical fruits. Also Boni, Erika & Adila who translated for us. All staff were wonderful, sorry I don’t have there names. The Gala evenings every Friday night, again everything was presented professionally from all the staff. Special thanks to Shaisha who is always a very special friend alongside chef Shalley who made an amazing fillet steak meal for my husband. Praveen also made us wonderful sushi dishes at lunch time in the palms.Thank you sir. We ate many times at Peking & Indo Ceylon restaurants, food was delicious at both. restaurants & service as always impeccable. Shaisha attended the bar professionally always serving amazing cocktails & selected wines. Staff here were wonderful would like to thank all of you. Boni,Jalley, Manley,Ahil,Ludham, Rahul,Munnu,Mothamin (Lonu lunchtimes)),Bahrath,Zhou,Ganesh,Sunny,Matcha, Sameer, Puskar&Ali. All the chefs too. Also Manak & Rohit were available to provide some amazing wines & Gins. Great to see Manak again who we have know since our 1st visit in 2019. Special thanks to all the buggy drivers, especially Maadhee who was always making us laugh & always available for pick ups & drop offs. The spa was total relaxation with the included massages performed by Sujitha all times as requested who always knew how to work on my knots on my Shoulders from the indulgence plan giving always exceptional perfect, drizzle back massages including different treatments as I’m not keen on head massages. All staff were wonderful. Lastly but not least I would like to thank Mei P Pun General Manager. Thank you Mei for your outstanding team, including the people I have not mentioned which are Mujay who helped with our requests before arrival. Anu our butler for our stay who we knew in 2019 as he was then working in the Palms great to see he is now a butler, very professional always thank you Anu. Also all the gardeners & rakers on the beach who work so hard. Also the general toilet cleaners who probably do not get a mention. Also the many We hope to come back within the next 2 years. Our stay at OZEN Life Maadhoo was simply beautiful. From the warm welcome by the front office to the heartfelt service throughout, everything felt genuine and special. The food was incredible across all outlets, the resort was perfectly maintained, and our villa was always spotless with lovely touches. A big thank you to Ms. Mei and the team, our wonderful butler Natey, and the amazing staff-Isham, Gafoor,Rasheed, Ali, Naushad, Ajay, Jasim, Hishan, Faisal, and the F&B team Munnu, Luham, Mootha, Jalley, Aahil and Tiff. Ozen Life Madhoo exceeded all our expectations, the island is beautiful, the villa is kept spotless and replenished daily with everything we needed. The food is delicious and we were completely spoilt for choice. but the standout for us was the kindness and friendliness of all the staff. We must give a very special mention to our villa butler Hussain who went above and beyond to make our holiday unforgettable and when we have saved up we will return. Read less

Each time we return, we notice thoughtful improvements, and this visit was no exception. The continuous upgrades to the facilities and rooms are absolutely on point. For the first time, we stayed in an overwater villa with a slide and jacuzzi… and wow, what an experience! Both features were simply brilliant and added an extra layer of fun and relaxation to our stay. The room updates have made the villas feel even more modern, spacious, and luxurious, we were genuinely impressed. Although we don’t have children, we couldn’t help but notice the fantastic enhancements to the Kids Club area. It already looked great before, but now it seems even more inviting and well thought out. As always, the true heart of this resort is its people. The service and staff are beyond exemplary and are the reason we return time and time again. Every single team member is empowered to make your stay memorable, and they consistently go above and beyond. This visit was particularly meaningful, as my husband had some difficulty eating, and the staff were incredibly attentive, flexible, and genuinely caring in adapting to his needs. Their kindness and understanding meant so much to us. Dining experiences once again exceeded expectations. M6M and Lonu were, as always, outstanding, simply fabulous. But Traditions, The Palms, and the Friday beach event continue to be just as special and memorable in their own way. We also really enjoyed the live music at The Palms this time, the performers were amazing and added such a great atmosphere to our evenings. We also took a boat trip with the wonderful team from the Sports Centre. Their professionalism and warmth mean we trust them completely, which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable and memorable. A huge thank you to everyone - from JDV, M6M, The Palms, and Traditions teams, to the butlers, housekeeping, bar staff, and management. You all play such an important role in creating unforgettable experiences. Thank you once again for giving us the most amazing memories—ones we will treasure forever.
