An Incredible Experience at OZEN LIFE MAADHOO

From the moment we arrived at OZEN LIFE MAADHOO, we felt welcomed and well cared for. The entire experience was incredible from beginning to end, and the staff truly made our honeymoon special.
Upon arrival, we received a warm welcome and even had our feet washed before being introduced to our personal butler. Our butler was Forty, and he was absolutely awesome. He went above and beyond throughout our entire stay. Communication through WhatsApp was incredibly easy, and whenever we had a question, needed information, or required assistance, he was right there to help. He got to know us so well that if he said he was going to do something special for us the next day, he would find us and take care of it without us ever having to remind him. That level of service was amazing.
After the welcome, we were taken on a golf-cart tour of the island. They showed us where all the restaurants and amenities were before taking us to our overwater bungalow. We received a complete tour of the room, and everything was explained to us. The entire arrival process was smooth and very well organized.
The staff throughout the resort was phenomenal. Amit, who I believe is the resort manager, was fantastic. Every chef, server, bartender, housekeeper, and staff member we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about making sure we were having a great time. The chefs regularly came out to check on us and say hello, and we never felt like we had to chase anyone down for anything.
Some of the staff members we got to know during our stay were Jobit, Kein, Jo, and Forty, along with several others whose names we unfortunately didn’t catch. The sushi chef was amazing as well, and our room attendant did an incredible job. Every time we returned to our bungalow, the room looked fantastic. We never once came back to a room that felt anything less than perfect.
One thing that really stood out was how observant the staff was. They paid attention to us and remembered the little things. We probably learned the names of at least ten staff members during our stay, and it was genuinely nice seeing them throughout the resort. They always recognized us, remembered conversations we’d had, and were happy to see us. It made the resort feel much more personal.
The snorkeling was incredible
We spent a lot of time snorkeling right around our overwater bungalow, and honestly, it seemed to be one of the easiest places to see a huge variety of fish. We saw so many different types of marine life right outside our room.
We also regularly saw small sharks, probably around 2–3 feet long, while walking along the boardwalk. We saw multiple stingrays directly underneath our bungalow, which was an incredible experience.
If you’re staying here, definitely take advantage of the water and marine life surrounding the resort.
The excursions were worth it
One of our favorite experiences was the sunset dolphin cruise, which was absolutely amazing.
Swimming with the sharks and sea turtles was another experience I would consider a must-do. The only downside is that you need eight people for the excursion to be reasonably affordable. We arrived Monday morning and didn’t have enough people until Friday, but once we finally got the group together, it was absolutely worth the wait.
We also rented a jet ski for 45 minutes on our last day. The tour guide who took us out was fantastic. Unfortunately, I didn’t get his name, but instead of simply putting us in the middle of the ocean and telling us to ride back and forth, he actually took us out and let us explore. We even saw dolphins while we were out, which was an awesome way to finish our stay.
A couple things to know
The one thing I would recommend to future guests is to always order room service through your butler. On one occasion, my wife wasn’t feeling well, so we ordered food to the room. We assumed it was complimentary because the restaurants and food throughout the resort are included, but room service can involve an additional charge if it isn’t arranged properly. That caught us by surprise.
We also chose the honeymoon package since we had just gotten married. The spa experience was good, although I did feel that the spa voucher was somewhat of an upsell. You receive a voucher, but there are limitations on what is included. We initially expected something closer to a full-body massage, but there were restrictions on the areas they would treat. My wife isn’t really a fan of massages, so she chose the facial instead and absolutely loved it. SHRE and Lasmi did a fantastic job.
Overall
OZEN LIFE MAADHOO was everything we were hoping for in a honeymoon. The location is beautiful, the overwater bungalow was incredible, the food was excellent, the marine life was amazing, and most importantly, the people made the experience.
Forty was an incredible butler, and the entire staff consistently went above and beyond. We never felt like we were bothering anyone when we needed something, and we never felt like there was a moment when we couldn’t get help if we needed it.
We’ve stayed at nice resorts before, but what made OZEN LIFE MAADHOO stand out was the personal attention. By the end of our stay, these weren’t just random employees we passed around the resort. We knew their names, they knew us, and we were genuinely happy to see each other.
For a honeymoon or a special trip, I would absolutely recommend OZEN LIFE MAADHOO. We had an incredible experience!!!
