From the moment you step onto the jetty, Ozen Life makes its intentions clear: every member of staff greets you with a smile so genuine it feels less like hospitality training and more like a cultural birthright. Butlers, waiters, and housekeeping alike radiate a warmth that captures the very essence of Maldivian character — always approachable, always willing to go the extra mile without being asked. Our overwater villa was a sanctuary in itself: the iconic netted hammock suspended over the lagoon delivered exactly the kind of lazy afternoon you see on Instagram, except it was real. A private staircase leads into water of just the right depth — deep enough to feel immersed, shallow enough for non-swimmers like myself to feel safe. And in the relentless Maldivian heat, the air conditioning deserves its own standing ovation — powerful, quiet, and blissfully cold the moment you walk through the door. Dining at Ozen Life comes with one caveat worth noting: if your stay falls on a Friday, several à la carte restaurants may be closed. The resort compensates with an expanded buffet at the main restaurant that evening, which, to be fair, was generous in both variety and quality. The real culinary surprise, however, was M6M — the underwater restaurant. Expectations for destination dining are often tempered by cynicism, yet the seafood here genuinely impressed. The lobster, in particular, was remarkably fresh and had a springy, bouncy texture that spoke of ocean-to-plate immediacy. Beyond the table, our butler arranged a dolphin-watching excursion that proved magical even for a non-swimmer. Back at the villa, I spent long stretches simply wading in the shallows where crystal-white sand met calm turquoise water, spotting reef fish drifting just metres from the staircase. Ozen Life may not reinvent the Maldivian resort formula, but it delivers on every promise with sincerity — and sometimes, that is more than enough. Read less

Just recently back from our second stay at this beautiful resort. We chose the same Earth villa as we love the lush surrounds, private pool, and direct access to a largely deserted white sand beach. We had the same butler, Blue, who arranged our itinerary for the week ensuring we were able to take advantage of all the facilities as well as the varied dining opportunities. It’s a low key and relaxed service and you never feel pressurised to do things. In fact this is the main reason we chose to return, the island is exceptionally beautiful and always feels relaxed. A highlight during this stay was swimming with stingrays in the resorts lagoon. So very special. I have to say that as well as the food and drink being of a high standard (Tradition Indoceylon - beats curry ever), it’s the delivery that makes the resort so special. Without exception, every single member of staff, from GM, to bar and waiting staff, and the lovely guy who sweeps the beach each day, is courteous and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble! Thank you to everyone, you do a fantastic job. We cannot wait to visit again soon. Read less

I honestly can’t express how perfect our holiday was and just how fabulous Ozen Life Maadhoo is! We had been saving for a long time to go to the Maldives and don’t travel regularly. It was very hard to choose an island to visit as they all look so beautiful but we chose Ozen Life Maadhoo because we spoke to an agent at Kenwood Travel who said it was truly one of the best resorts with very high standards, and had the best all inclusive package in the Maldives. We wanted to make sure we didn’t have a huge bill at the end of our trip and it just felt like this was the best of all the options, with activities like snorkelling trips and a sunset cruise included in the package and lots of amazing dining options. For anyone who hasn’t been before and for whom this would be a huge thing (as it was for us) I can honestly say that it was the best decision ever to go there! The whole holiday from start to finish was perfection. The transfers were so well organised and comfortable, the arrival to the island was something we will never forget. It is truly paradise with white soft sand and the clearest turquoise waters. We stayed in an over water villa and I would totally recommend this. We found it hard to choose between a beach villa and an over water one but I feel the over water really was the better option for us. We loved waking up and going to our private deck to watch the sunrise and see sharks, turtles, rays and fish just swimming along past us! The breeze was wonderful as well. The room was beautiful, spotlessly clean and designed in a lovely relaxing way. The food and drink was exceptionally good, we loved every restaurant (The Indoceylon was exceptional) but our favourite was The Palms as it was just so relaxed and the food choices were just amazing. We chose to do a jet ski tour with some of our vouchers and I couldn’t recommend it enough, our guide was brilliant and worked so hard to show us the sea life (we saw huge nurse sharks and a pod of dolphins!) and I think it was really one of the best uses of the vouchers you get. I also had a spa treatment with one voucher which was heavenly and felt very special. We went on the snorkelling trip and sunset cruise and both were incredible, the snorkelling is something we will never ever forget. It was true luxury to be able to order any drinks you wanted and they had an amazing selection of wines, champagne, cocktails and gin which was our favourite. We did a private gin tasting and it was again an amazing experience with a manager leading it for us who was so knowledgable and passionate about his subject. The beauty of the island is just overwhelming and the beaches were our favourite thing - we just wanted to spend all day sitting and looking at the water. Out of everything though, and all of it was truly 5 star perfection, it was the staff working there who made it as amazing as it was. The professionalism and kindness that we were shown by every single person we spoke to was really what made it such an exceptional stay. I cannot praise them all highly enough, and thank them enough for making this the best week of our lives. Special mentions really for every single person working there but we were especially lucky to meet: Saahiil who worked as a waiter at The Palms. He was so kind and helpful, I told him I had type 1 diabetes and he offered me low carb options and just could not have been more reassuring. He was fantastic and deserves a promotion! Shekshanka who was our room attendant. He worked so hard and kept our room so beautifully clean. He ran us a beautiful bubble bath with rose petals when he knew we were coming back from our snorkelling trip and just went over and above. A true professional who took real pride in what he does, and did it all with such kindness. Faiko who was our butler (really we don’t like that term and I felt he was actually like our holiday manager!). A lot of reviews here mention Faiko, and with good reason. He was WONDERFUL!! He could not have been kinder and did everything he could to make our stay special. He arranged everything for us so well, and advised us on things we were unsure of. He is a true professional and we cannot thank him enough for making our stay so wonderful. He helped us so much and really deserves special recognition for how hard he works. Thank you so so much Faiko, you are a legend! Prajual the bar manager. Prajual led our private gin tasting and just did the most incredible job of teaching us about gin and making it such a fun experience! We weren’t sure what to expect really but it was something we will never forget, it was a lot of fun and we tried a lot of new gins. The gin bar is a beautiful space and it was very special to have it to ourselves. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise and making this such a memorable evening for us. Praveen who made incredible sushi! Praveen realised after a couple of days that my husband loved sushi at lunchtime and made him a special selection which was the best sushi he had ever tried. It was a real surprise that he had prepared this beautiful food for him and made lunchtime very special. Thank you! Sonny who was the head chef. Sonny came to talk to everyone at lunch time and it was lovely to be able to thank him and his team for their hard work and incredible cookery. All the food we had was delicious. The standout for us was the Indoceylon, I’m vegetarian and the choice was just wonderful. It was some of the best food we have ever had, just delicious from start to finish. You can see the care and pride which is taken with the food and it really pays off. Raushal or Rashul (apologies for the spelling!) who led our jet ski tour. It was our first time on a jet ski and we were both a bit unsure but he gave us brilliant guidance and tried so hard to show us everything in the time we had. He took us to a sand bar and took some photos of us and they really are our favourite from the whole trip. Seeing the pod of dolphins made me cry and we will never forget this experience. You are brilliant at what you do, thank you! Aziza our waitress at M6M - this was just the most incredible experience ever, a beautiful restaurant under the sea! You made it so wonderful for us and are a true professional who explained everything so well and took real care of us to make sure it was perfect. Thank you! I could write more about our stay as every minute it felt like there was something even more perfect and special happening! If you are thinking about where to go and like us, found it a very hard thing to choose, then we would wholeheartedly recommend Ozen Life Maadhoo. It is worthy of a 10 star review - on every level, but especially the amazing team of staff. Thank you all so much! Read less

We have just returned from another amazing stay, our 13th at Ozen Life Maadhoo. I have reviewed before but not for a few years and I felt another was needed to empathise the continued excellence throughout the island. This visit was once again in our favourite Earth Villa with pool. The villa was immaculately serviced twice daily by housekeeper Saluudin who was polite, cheerful and clearly loves his job. Whilst the villa is still amazing it was showing some signs of maintenance and updating required, especially to roof thatch and internal walls. The pool and gardens were maintained daily by the excellent gardens team that keep the whole island immaculate. We also felt a little disappointed with the new sea barrier that has been placed which spoils the view from the beach. The beach though is still beautiful and our favourite place on the island. We loved going to the JDV bar late afternoon for snacks and drinks whilst laying in the cool on the four poster beds in the shade, with the fans going overhead and a nice breeze blowing through. The JDV bar was managed by the ever smiling happy team led by PJ. Great service from his team that included Zaain, Hussain and others whose names I can’t remember. A great place to stop off after our evening meal for drinks around the pool. The only disappointment was the music played by the DJ some evenings, it was quite loud and not the type of music you would expect to hear in the Maldives in my opinion and this was felt also by a few other guests we spoke too. I must say the music played during the day was relaxing and felt like a chilled atmosphere for the Maldives. M6M restaurant was a great experience again with a welcome change to the delicious menu. The service as always was amazing from Teresa who we have known for a number of years but she is obviously a welcome addition to M6M and deserves a special mention. The quality of the food and wine pairing was exceptional. It was lovely to catch up with the happy Danielle in the bar, such a great asset with a character to match, but we still wish she was working at the JDV bar where we could see her big smile more often. The restaurants of Peking and IndoCeylon served dishes from a wonderful menu. We enjoyed the Peking so much we went back for a second visit on our last night. Great service again with a bar that delivers amazing cocktails, wines and champagne. The highlight of our stay for dining was Lonu for lunch. We are not lunchtime eaters but we missed breakfast that morning and so enjoyed the food we were served there in such a beautiful setting. The dishes were delicious with amazing Maldivian flavours. A must if you decide to visit. The Palms main restaurant was as always a great all day dining restaurant but we did experience a few minor service issues which is unusual. The quality of the food was outstanding from the chefs and a few names that served us well was Shazeen, Ali and Erika. Our private beach bbq was served and cooked beautifully in a lovely setting and very much appreciated. This island continues to deliver and has the benefit of being only 45 minutes from the airport. The island is immaculately serviced by their wonderful staff from all departments. Will we return for another stay…. Most definitely, it feels like our paradise. A big shout out to the airport staff from Ozen that takes care of you with your cases and check in procedures. Thank you Sanek. Finally, we were looked after and kept in contact with our butler Forty who as he always does, leaves us to get on with what we like doing, but maintaining enough contact by WhatsApp and often arriving at our villa just in time for a lift to the restaurants in the evening. A very experienced and professional service from Forty who also it feels, is like a friend that we are so pleased to see on each return. I feel sure we have missed a few names that deserved a mention in this review and I apologise to them. Keep up the great work Ozen management and their entire team. Read less
