I read great reviews of the Pullman before I went , but let me warn you of the negatives that led to a 3 star review . As people have said its hard to get to , and hour plane from Male then a thumping bone jarring 15 minute speedboat ride to the resort . There are a lot of closer resorts without having to go through this . But it's the food that really lets this resort down ! The buffet was really bad , the western food inedible ( roast vegetables for breakfast ? ) the Maldivian and Asian food was slightly better , but it had always run out at breakfast , lunch and dinner . Also the recycling of food from breakfast to lunch was a joke . Sausage fried rice or sausage salad or hot dogs for lunch made up of the left over sausages from breakfast . Considering you have not much choice on where you eat it's a bit rough . Phat Chameleon is no longer a vegan or veggie restaurant you would be lucky if a third of the dishes on the menu were vegetarian . The food at Phat Chameleon and Souq rising was a cut above the buffet , but hard to get into . The staff are fabulous and a real asset to the hotel and once you are on the island it is very restful and great swimming . It's just such a shame about the food . Read less

Our stay at Pullman Maldives Maamutaa Resort was nothing short of magical and truly the experience of a lifetime. From the moment we arrived, every single detail exceeded our expectations and made us feel like we were part of something incredibly special. We stayed in the Aqua Villa, and waking up each day in what felt like a private aquarium was surreal. The underwater bedroom is unlike anything we have ever experienced—the marine life swimming past the windows made the villa itself feel like a dream. Our wedding day was beyond perfect in every possible way. The Pullman team executed everything flawlessly and created a celebration more beautiful than we ever imagined. A special thank you to Ani, our incredible wedding planner, who handled every detail seamlessly and made the entire process effortless for us. She went above and beyond at every turn—coordinating a private chef and arranging for our favorite food and beverage manager to personally serve us during an intimate, unforgettable private dinner; decorating our villa beautifully with rose petals cascading down the stairs to our Aqua Villa; surprising us with a heart-shaped bed arrangement for our return; and even decorating a private buggy just for us. Every moment felt like a scene out of a movie. In one of the sweetest surprises of the day, Ani was also one of two flower girls during the ceremony, throwing rose petals over us and making the moment even more magical and unforgettable. The spa experience was absolutely phenomenal. Without exaggeration, it was the best massage either of us has ever had and set the perfect tone leading into our big day. The spa team also accommodated my wedding-day hair styling flawlessly and had me looking and feeling amazing for the ceremony. We were absolutely blown away by the photography and videography arranged through the resort by Artsy Maldives. Videography by Aaish and photography by Easa captured every moment of our wedding and stay so beautifully—we will cherish those memories forever. And it wasn’t just Ani—the entire team at Pullman made us feel like family. A special thank you to Nara at Mélange, who took such incredible care of us and made every dining experience feel warm and personal, and to the incredibly talented pastry chef who created our wedding cakes—they were not only stunning but absolutely delicious. We were also blown away to later realize that the hospitality manager himself personally gave us our resort overview on one of our first days—something we didn’t even realize at the time, but which speaks volumes about the level of care and attention here. A heartfelt thank you as well to our housekeeper, Ismile, who was so kind and considerate and made sure every single day that our villa was left absolutely pristine. Beyond the wedding, the experiences and excursions were just as incredible. Even the extras felt thoughtfully curated. Night snorkeling was unforgettable, the dolphin cruise became even more special when the crew encouraged my husband to fish and tied a line for him right there, we jet skied to a private island with the amazing water sports team, and we also went deep sea fishing. One of our favorite touches was when the water sports team created a custom seashell keepsake for us with a whale shark design after our jet ski excursion—such an unexpected and meaningful gesture. These weren’t just activities—they were memories we’ll talk about forever. What makes this experience even more meaningful is everything that led up to it. This trip had been planned since last September, and just weeks before departure—on April 4th—we found out everything had been cancelled due to a fraudulent travel agency. It was devastating. Our original booking, including one of only two Aqua Villas, had already been cancelled back on March 18th after we had made our final payment. We are still working through that situation with our credit card companies. To go from that level of stress and uncertainty… to having Pullman step in, along with the help of the wonderful Maldivian travel agency Adore Maldives and travel agent Jazz, to secure us one of those same coveted Aqua Villas again—it felt like a miracle. They didn’t just give us a wedding; they gave us peace of mind, trust, and the chance to truly enjoy what should have been one of the happiest times in our lives. This wasn’t just a wedding—it was actually a long-overdue renewal of vows. We were married during COVID five years ago and never had a honeymoon or a proper wedding, so this meant more to us than we can even put into words. We were also touched by the many thoughtful gifts and special surprises the resort provided throughout our stay, including a beautiful gold manta ray necklace and other meaningful keepsakes that made the trip feel even more extraordinary. We are already dreaming about coming back in a couple of years—this time with our children so they can experience a place that now means so much to us. This was more than just a trip. It was a journey—from chaos to something truly perfect—and Pullman, especially Ani, made it all come together in the most beautiful way imaginable. Forever grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it.
