The hotel

Where is it

Located on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi. Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi are both a 20 minute drive away. Transfer time from Abu Dhabi International Airport: 25 minutes.

288 rooms, suites and villas. All with air-conditioning, balcony (subject to availability), flat-screen TV, WiFi access, marble floors, mini-bar (stocked with a selection of soft drinks and beer per day). Deluxe Rooms Garden View with oversized bay windows and 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 1 child.

The above restaurants and bars serve a selection of alcoholic beverages (pouring brand of vodka, tequila, rum, whisky, gin, selection of beer and house wine) and non-alcoholic beverages (tea/coffee, juices, soda, diet soda, water).

Please note: à la carte restaurants operate on a rotation basis, not all outlets are available on the same day. Minimum length of stay of 3 nights is required for à la carte usage. Arrival date dining is at Turquoise restaurant. A la carte dining begins from the second day of your stay. Three-night stays: eligible for complimentary use of two à la carte restaurants. Four-night stays: eligible for complimentary use of à la carte restaurants up to three times. Five-night stays or more: eligible for complimentary use of à la carte restaurants up to four times. All bookings must be made in advance at the “Restaurant Reservation Desk” in the lobby and are subject to availability. Guests are entitled to a five-course meal and unlimited beverages at a la carte restaurants.

Deluxe Rooms Sea View with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults, 1 child and 1 infant.

Premium Pool Access Rooms are located on the edge of the hotels pool, with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults, 1 child and 1 infant.

One Bedroom Suites with either garden, or sea views, have 1 king-size bed in the bedroom and living room with 1 sofa bed (180cm X 150cm), sleeping maximum 3 adults, 1 child and 1 infant.

One Bedroom Suites Pool Access with 1 king-size bed in the bedroom, living room with 1 sofa bed (180cm X 150cm) and a balcony with direct access to the swimming pool, sleeping maximum 3 adults, 1 child and 1 infant. Two Bedroom Suite Pool Access are also available, maximum 5 adults, 1 child and 1 infant.

Two Bedroom Family Rooms with garden views, sea views or pool access, with 2 king-size beds or 1 king-size and 1 twin bed, sleeping maximum 4 adults, 1 child and 1 infant.

All suite guests benefit from designated VIP Check-in Lounge, located in the right wing of the resort, and a personalised check-in process which includes a refreshing towel and welcome drink.

Club Prive

Club Prive by Saadiyat Island (3 bedrooms, sleeping maximum 6 adults, 1 child and 1 infant), Villa Prive (4 bedrooms, sleeping maximum 8 adults, 1 child and 1 infant) and the Presidential Suite (2 bedrooms, sleeping maximum 4 adults, 1 child and 1 infant) are also available.

Dress code: the dress code in all à la carte restaurants is smart casual. Gentlemen are requested to wear full-length trousers, elegant jeans or tailored shorts, and closed shoes. Slippers or sandals are not permitted.

The number one asset of this great hotel, though, is the staff. Every single member of that staff treated us with friendliness and a total commitment to service. We would name all of them if we could but we're sure they won't mind if we give special mention to the people with whom we had most contact. At the beach, Nishantha, Rey, and Gabriel... At Savanna Sol, Rodney, John, and Sammy...At People's, Rommell, Maria, and Reme...At Turquoise, Kim and Ameer. These individuals and all of their colleagues at each location made our stay truly memorable and we will never forget their hard work and dedication. It is sad to say that not all guests were as appreciative of the staff as we were. There is one group from one country who show little respect to the people who are looking after them and they are just as disrespectful to fellow guests. It is depressing at times but that one negative could not outweigh the positives already mentioned. Read less

The hotel didn't live up to my expectations! I'm paying 1,000 euros a day for staying here, and I don't feel like I'm being treated as a guest. The staff on the beach doesn't help to move the heavy sunbed, the adults-only area is occupied by families with constantly screaming children, and no one regulates their placement on the "Family" side of the beach. My requests in the hotel chat—"fix the bathroom faucet," "fix the TV"—are ignored. I have paid an extra night to be accommodated comfortably upon arrival. They gave me a basic room on a residual basis. We've been Rixos hotel guests for over 20 years, and in my expensive Deluxe Sea View room, there were no welcome compliments or beach bag. I had to ask the staff to bring me what was supposed to be in Deluxe room. The hotel skimps on coffee beans - it's very cheap and tasteless, none of the guests like it, and that's for 1,000 euros a day! The room had very cheap dishes, cheap, poor-quality toiletries, and a minimally stocked minibar. At this price, you'd expect more attention on the beach, by the pool, and in your hotel room. Alas!
