Just returned from Sandalls Barbados and wish we could say we have come back fully refreshed. The main disappointment was the room we were allocated,on the 4th floor overlooking another block which was under renovation , works started before 8am and some days still going at 6.30 pm we had workmen looking over, being loud and the power tools were unbearable During our stay we had to stay outside the room until they had finished for the day which was not ideal. Two of the pools were very close to the works being done which few people wanted to be at due to the noise which ment you struggled to get a lounger at the other pools. Restaurants were not great either, my meal was served cold at The Thai Restaurant, Italian we had the soup as starter and all you could taste was salt and at the Seafood restaurant i had surf and turf and couldn't even cut the steak with a knife. It was an expensive holiday and we have been to many far better places for less money. Very disappointed shall not be returning to this hotel but would definitely try Barbados again the people are lovely. Read less

We have just returned from another special holiday at Sandals Barbados. This is our favourite of all the Sandals resorts we have stayed at. A special mention to the staff and especially Miriam who worked in the French Restaurant and Neptunes as she has made our last two visits memorable. She always has a smile and is a credit to Sandals. Our recent stay at Sandals Barbados was deeply disappointing, and unfortunately we would not return. The most significant issue was the extreme noise level throughout the resort, which made rest nearly impossible. Our room in Building #7 (King James House) was only about 20–30 meters from the rooftop disco, and the music was so loud that we were unable to sleep for three nights in a row. Although the front desk assured us the music would end earlier, it continued until 11 p.m. each night. One evening, the “beach party” — roughly 40 meters from our room — was just as loud, even with a building in between. Morning noise was equally disruptive, with leaf blowers and other equipment starting around 7 a.m. After two sleepless nights, we requested a room change, but were told nothing was available until the following night. As a result, four out of our seven vacation nights were essentially sleepless. The noise problem extended beyond our room. The resort itself was consistently loud, with music playing in multiple areas at once — sometimes even competing with each other, such as restaurant speakers clashing with pool speakers. Instead of a relaxing environment, it felt chaotic. Service was also inconsistent and often disappointing. At the Merry Monkey pub, we waited a long time just to receive an appetizer, and then waited an additional 30 minutes for our main dishes, which never arrived despite multiple follow‑ups. After half an hour with no food, we left. Even more concerning, when we reported a food allergy and asked for confirmation that a dish was safe, the server was blatantly dismissive. At several bars, we were ignored entirely, and one bartender responded sarcastically (“Oh, great!”) when we ordered a blended drink. Customer service from many staff members fell far below expectations for a resort at this price point. There were a few bright spots. The piano bar was excellent — the musician was extremely talented, and the bartenders there were lively and attentive. We also want to recognize three staff members who truly went above and beyond: Crystal and Jamar at the Greenhouse restaurant, who were warm, welcoming, and consistently attentive, and Darien at Chi Asian Fusion, who provided outstanding service. These individuals were exceptional, and other staff could learn a great deal from them. Despite these few positives, the overall experience — especially the lack of sleep, constant noise, and inconsistent service — made our stay stressful rather than relaxing. Sadly, we cannot recommend Sandals Barbados and would not return Read less

Nice big resort. If you prefer it quieter, book Sandals Barbados, not the Royal one. It's all one big complex but the Pool at the Royal end has the entertainment so is a bit noisy, while the Sandals Barbados pool is smaller, quieter & has very nice cabanas if you can get there early enough. A room was being renovated on the floor beneth us & there was a lot of noise during the day (drilling, hammering). Most of the time we were out of the room but it was an issue when we came in. We did get moved in the end so that was fine in the end. Food was amazing, the Chinese & Indian were the best. We love good food so is an imortant part of choosing a holiday for us. 10 / 10 here. Bowling was good fun, when it worked - always fixed quickly. Most of the staff were great but one of the receptionists was clearly not happy when we complained about the noise. If you go, take a private tour up the West coast of the Island, very beautiful & quite. My only wish was that it was located on a longer beach for nice walks. Would I go back - probably - it's quite expensive & a long flight to go for a week. Definately glad I went & would recommend. Read less
