We visited Sandals Barbados for 9 nights in May and June. This was our second Sandals holiday, having previously stayed in Antigua five years ago. After reading some mixed reviews beforehand, we were slightly apprehensive, but I wanted to share our experience to reassure others that this resort is truly wonderful. I will start with a few minor negatives, although overall we had a fantastic stay. One disappointment was that we booked through Virgin Atlantic and were not informed about the renovation works until after booking. That said, it did not impact our holiday at all. We dined at Schooner’s during the works and noticed very little noise, certainly nothing that affected our experience. The beach and the seaweed were something we had not researched beforehand, so it came as a surprise. We now understand this can be more common on this side of the island, with the west coast generally being calmer. Despite this, the beach itself is beautiful, and without the seaweed it would be even more stunning. The sea can be choppy, which is expected on the Atlantic side. When red flags were up, Sandals provided a complimentary shuttle to the Boatyard twice daily, between 10:00 and 15:00 or 12:00 and 16:00, including 80 BBD credit. The water there is calm and clear, and it is well worth visiting. Although we did not book any official excursions, we went off the resort four times. We highly recommend Champers Restaurant, which we visited for our anniversary. The food, service and views were all exceptional, and it is only a 10-minute taxi ride, making it perfect for a special occasion. Savvy on the Bay, located on Carlisle Bay, is another must visit. We booked directly through their website and used the free shuttle service. Two sunbeds cost 30 USD and included a snorkelling trip. It has a great atmosphere, feels very safe and is a beautiful place to spend the day. We stayed until sunset. Oistins Fish Fry was a brilliant and authentic local experience. Be sure to take cash, and the food is outstanding. It is definitely worth visiting to experience a different side of Barbados. The Boatyard, as mentioned, is also excellent for a relaxed beach day. Food across the resort was excellent, with plenty of choice. Our highlights included La Parisienne for breakfast, Heart and Sol, Greenhouse for breakfast, Soy, Bombay, Chi, Butch’s Chophouse and Schooner’s. We booked Butch’s via the app two weeks before arrival. We also enjoyed the snack options including Dino’s, the Jerk Shack, the hot dog stand, and the donut and coffee shop. Service can sometimes be slow, but that is part of the Caribbean pace of life, so it is best to relax and enjoy it. The staff were fantastic throughout our stay, friendly, attentive and always smiling. We did not encounter a single rude member of staff, which made a big difference to our experience. We stayed in a standard room on the Sandals Barbados side and found it to be an ideal location. The two resorts blend seamlessly into one, making everything easily accessible. The pools were great, although there is the usual early morning rush for sunbeds. It is best to be up around 7:30am to secure a spot. We did not spend time at the main infinity pool, but the pool by the Sports Bar had a great atmosphere. There are also quieter pools near Portofino and Greenhouse and Heart and Sol, which are equally lovely. Staff do remove unattended towels after a couple of hours, which helps. The resort is incredibly clean and very well maintained. We also loved the wildlife, from being woken by chickens to spotting monkeys and a variety of birds, which all added to the charm. In summary, we had a brilliant holiday. While no resort is perfect, the positives here far outweigh any minor drawbacks. Sandals Barbados offers excellent food, beautiful surroundings and exceptional service and would highly recommend it to anyone considering a stay. Read less

The staff are incredibly helpful, friendly, attentive, and genuinely happy, making every moment of our stay special. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We have been truly blown away by the level of service. Any comments or requests we made were addressed immediately, with the team going above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. We are honestly wondering how we never discovered Sandals sooner. Our two recent experiences in Barbados and Grenada have completely sold us on the Sandals experience. The attention to detail, outstanding hospitality, and commitment to guest satisfaction have been second to none. My husband and I went to Sandals Barbados in May 2026. This is the second Sandals property we have visited. We were in desperate need of a relaxing and unplugged vacation and just a time to reconnect with each other. We were in a honeymoon suite that came with butler service. We have never had anything like Butler service before and we are usually the ones taking care of everyone else so it was a definite change. Our butlers - Jerome, Mark, and Nadia were fantastic and in that short week became like family to us. We talked and shared with them - learning about their lives as well. We don't drink alcohol and they got creative on bringing us exotic non alcoholic drinks from the bar all thru the day and at dinner each night. They surprised us with drawn baths on the balcony and in our room with writing in palm leaves on the floor about 37 years of love. We were celebrating both of our 60th birthdays as well as our 37th anniversary. They found out that I liked Dr Pepper but the resort didn't stock it so one day they knocked on our door and there they stood with Dr Pepper that they had gotten from off resort just for me. That is caring, personal service. The resort was beautiful with great food options, several pools one of which we stayed by our entire stay :) There are many things to do which we did not take advantage of because we needed something different this time but would definitely do in the future. Loved also being close to the airport - about a 15 minute ride. The resort has two resorts in one so there are double the options to eat and do activities. The Red Land spa is great on both resorts. We had two massages while there with the same ladies because they were so good the first time. There was a part of the resort pool area which was being renovated but we hardly even noticed because there was plenty of pools and other things to do. The weather was fabulous - sunny but not too hot with a lovely breeze every day. The foilage of the result was gorgeous and well taken care of. We would definitely go back but only if we could have Jerome, Mark and Nadia again!! :) They really did make our stay over the top magnificent. Read less

The prime rib was way over cooked (despite asking for the “pinkest” slice they had) and the baked potato was barely room temperature (couldn’t even melt the butter. The Dive shop was ok but they visited the same subpar dive site for two people to have a “better chance to spear lionfish” while the 6 other divers suffered through subpar reef AND repeating the same site 2 days in a row. Also, one of their dive guides harassed sea life and was more interested in recording “critters” and blocking guests from seeing them. Read less

We recently stayed at Sandals Barbados and had an absolutely wonderful experience from beginning to end. We are already looking forward to visiting another Sandals resort and hope to return to Barbados someday. The food was fantastic, with plenty of delicious options throughout the resort, and the drinks were equally impressive. Every meal felt like a special experience, and the quality exceeded our expectations. One of the highlights of our trip was our photo session with Dario MD. He made the experience fun, relaxed, and enjoyable for our entire group. His professionalism and personality helped create memories that we will cherish for years to come. We also want to recognize Oshin, who served us one evening outside of Kimono's and again the next morning at the pool bar. She was friendly, energetic, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable. Her positive attitude made every interaction memorable and is exactly the kind of hospitality that makes guests feel welcome. Perhaps the most impressive part of our stay was the exceptional customer service. During our trip, we needed assistance with a minor issue, and the staff responded immediately with genuine care and concern. The Duty Manager, Silviu, went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, personally following up and making sure we were comfortable. His kindness and attention to detail were remarkable. The level of service we experienced throughout the resort was truly above and beyond anything we have encountered elsewhere. Every team member we interacted with seemed committed to making our vacation special. Thank you to the entire Sandals Barbados team for an unforgettable stay.
