This review is about our experience at Red Lane Spa on property. Sadeka and Decoda are some of the best massage therapists you will find! Our massages were amazing and these delightful women took their time and cared for every ache and pain we had. We left feeling like we were walking on air!

16 years after my first trip to a Sandals, Jamaica (MoBay) we returned to stay at Sandals Dunn's River. The hotel and grounds are pristine! The food and drinks were amazing. The weather when we were there was wonderful. But, what made the holiday so special? ... the amazing staff who were always welcoming, smiling and willing to engage in conversation with you. Whilst there were too many to name all individually, we met PJ (Petahjia) on our first morning and bumped into him many times over the holiday. He was a great character who acknowledged by our names on every occasion we met him over the week. We also had great interactions with Rebbecca Jane, Jordan, Jhoneil and Tascheca (who knew how we liked our Pina Colada's 😊 ) and in our goodbye's we all agreed that if you put the time an energy into interacting with the staff, it is returned 200% and they will ensure that you have nothing short of an amazing time at Dunns River. It's just a pity we couldn't stay for longer!. Oh, and many a fab night was had at the Rum Bar !! Read less

Was having a really lovely holiday up to our last day. Throughout the resort there are some young cats living there which we expected as having been to sandals resorts multiple times they had many cats living there which are well looked after and guests loved seeing them, not as many at Dunns river but there was a few, and us and as many other couples fed them some food and water each day, as animals lovers its a nice thing to see and do. There were some very small kittens living in a bush with its mum and myself and some other guests fed them, as we were doing that one of the hotel workers walked past and asked what we was doing and we said feeding the kittens and she proceeded to say how much she didn’t like animals, there disgusting etc, which I disagreed with. Next minute 3 male gardeners come along looking for the kittens and I asked what they are doing and you could tell they were trying not to laugh, said they was getting a cage and taking the kittens home to “play” with that 2 of the workers grabbed the kittens by there necks out of the bush and could see the kittens in distress, so I said to them to put them back and they ignored me and talked among themselves, so again I said put them back and still ignored me so I grabbed one the kittens off the worker and said no you leave them as there mum will come back to them and you could just tell by there stupid smug faces they didn’t care at all. They put the other kitten back and talked among themselves knowing full well I didn’t know what there are saying and annoyingly I didn’t get there names. I hung around the area for abit as they did also and they slowly walked off but I hung around as I knew they were going to come back, in which they did, with a small box with some a few holes in and I saw them in the bushes again chasing round the kittens and shoving them in with what i can only imagine being with brute force and no care at all. I went over again and asked why there are doing it and they just looked at me with a smirk and spoke patois amongst themselves, and then said something stupid about a mongoose and taking the kittens to be “safe” away from other animals expect there wasn’t even any bigger animals around. and I said I don’t even know why your lying as the smirks on your face show it, I had mentioned the other cats that they see around but they aren’t bothered by them so why the kittens. You could see the kittens moving in the box and then the gardeners said one kitten was left in the bush which means it was left alone, and with that one of the men walked off with the box holding it at an angle with one hand in which the kittens couldn’t of been comfortable. With that another couple came along who had been feeding them aswell and I explained the situation and they were also disgusted with the behaviour in what just happened, the other husband followed the gardener with the box and lost him on route. We went to reception to complain and the 2 woman on the desk also had the same annoying smirk on there faces when we mentioned what had happened and were dismissive also and talked to themselves and then one made a call and the general manager “Kevin” came out. We voiced our concerns and honestly he didn’t look that bothered, came out with some rubbish how sandals would never hurt animals and they work with whatever animal charity he mentioned at the time… blah blah blah. I feel he spoke to use like we were children when in fact we are all grown adults. I then voiced I didn’t believe a word he said and he was saying all that as a narrative to make us go off and think ok yes all is fine but truthfully none of us believed it was. He then called over a lady if I remember called “shanice” and she gave the same smirk/unbothered look everyone was giving and she said the same old rubbish as he did. She said she would investigate and come back to us. When she did come back to us she said she had spoken with the 3 gardeners and the gardeners manager. The gardeners proceeded to say they had released the kittens somewhere else on the resort, and then manager had found the empty box which he had disposed of. If this is the case the kittens would have no chance of survival being so young and without there mum and also the kitten that was left behind wouldn’t survive. I did say I know other people and places don’t have the same views or care on animals but considering sandals is supposed to be this amazing chain of hotels, don’t hurt animals and how the animals are looked after at other resorts all I can say is its aloud of rubbish from this hotel. “Shanice” said she would come and find us before we left as we were checking out the same day to update us on the situation but to no surprise she was nowhere to be seen, and I know she had spoken to the other couple once more and disappeared and how they are disgusted in it also. We had had a great holiday up til then and even enquired about coming back in 2027, but we won’t ever be coming back to a sandals again! The staff that we dealt with on our final were rude, patronising, uncooperative and just generally didn’t care which we would have never expected from sandals. This situation has really changed our opinion and completely tarnished the holiday. Read less

Had a blast, beautiful resort with lots of space to roam. Staff definitely made the experience even better. Huge shout out to our butlers, Eshaan and Dejenae, and the entertainment staff Tianna and Rebecca Jane for adding to the hospitality.
