Where do we even begin? My husband and I went exactly a month ago today for our anniversary. We almost gave up on Sandals after 2 extremely bad experiences... the Halcyon in St. Lucia 2019 and South Coast Jamaica 2021, not to mention the last minute cancelation from Curacao (their infinity pool broke) in 2022. Yes we were almost done with Sandals, except that we had points that were going to expire, and so fearfully we went for it. REDEEMED!! Dunns River is now our GO-TO SANDALS RESORT! From the moment you arrive at the resort, welcomed with a singing crew, to the moment you leave "friends" singing goodbye (Okeil, Balvin, and Nicola)... the entire experience was one of a kind! Every staff member failed to disappoint, because their service was white glove treatment 24/7 all the way! Listen, I could sit here and write a book, but words could not express the accuracy of professionalism and dedication and care these beautiful people showed us. We left feeling we were leaving family behind. So with that, we want to give a shout out to so many staff members and forgive us for those we left out. All in all, even those we didn't get to meet or get their names, every single staff member at Dunns River deserve praise (and a promotion... ok, maybe a raise, lol). So here we go! Novia, front desk, Wow! I mean, wow. You went above and beyond to accommodate us with everything, especially our "unique" request outside the resort and you followed up till the end. You're absolutely beautiful inside and out! Entertainment crew: Rebecca-Jane, Hennessy, Conrad and Jhonael, and the rest of the entertainmentstaff, you guys brought down the house! You were all absolutely magnificent! Conrad, thank you for asking us to join you for lunch on our last day. Bless you for making time for us. You could've been resting before beginning your shift and yet you chose to spend time with us. It was truly a pleasure getting to know you a more personal level. We wish success on your endeavors and the pageant! Melissa, the general manager, thank you for your time when we simply wanted to talk and share our past and present experiences. The staff Akeem, Conrad, Yuri, Omanda were amazing and made our trip even more special. For bartenders one that stood out was Hensue. He is a very genuine, welcoming person, who's very hardworking. We loved them all!! Room- Our room was amazing. Perfect view, super clean, comfy, and just what we asked for. Value- You definitely get what you pay for and more. Highly recommend this resort as many other people agreed it was their favorite Sandals location. Noise- Levels were perfect. Roxanne, John, Eugene and King at Hanami were fantastic. They quickly learned our preferences and treated us like family. Kerrington at watersports went above and beyond by rescuing my dive fin from the bottom of the ocean. The VIP luncheon was amazing. Although we are not particularly fond of all inclusive properties, Sandals Dunn’s River is a first class exception. From the personalized welcome letter when we arrived to the singing send off as we were leaving the experience was unforgettable. So much so that we booked another Sandals vacation in a different part of Jamaica for next year. What, and who, made this a uniquely memorable experience began with the property and hotel itself. The grounds were sprawling and meticulously landscaped. Our room (#1524) was a nice size, oceanfront, “club” level room with a beautiful rain shower. There were 12 specialty restaurants (including a few by the beaches and pools). The food was excellent in all restaurants featuring various of cuisines. In summation, however, one of the main reasons Sandals set itself apart from other all-inclusive brands we’ve tried lies with the staff and their exceptional level of friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and courteous service to all the guests. Yes. You’re not a customer here, you’re coming a guest. From the pool hands I met at 6:00 AM (loved to walk the grounds and take pictures early in the morning) to the knowledgeable and especially courteous and helpful restaurant servers, and chefs (several came out to greet the diners at the various restaurants…very impressive) to the various hotel managers we had the pleasure of meeting during our stay, it was truly a team effort that made each and every guest feel appreciated and indeed welcomed. I considered naming some of those staff members who made “above and beyond” impressions to my wife and I but there were so many and I didn’t want to inadvertently leave anyone out that I omitted them being named Considering everything we received at this beautiful property to say we were impressed and can’t wait for next year’s Sandals’ vacation.
