Sandals Dunns River

We are so thankful to have spent our honeymoon at Sandals Dunns River. Every staff member made us truly feel at home, and we felt like part of the family. We’d like to shoutout some of the people who truly gave us the most memorable experience. Omar was an incredible bartender who we would now consider a friend. He was amazing and we loved hanging out with him - even when we weren’t drinking! We are so thankful to have met him and we will truly miss him. Wesley Brown, our caddie at Upton Estates gave us an incredible experience both rounds we played. He also brought us to where they were flying kites, and let us participate in the celebration of Easter Monday. He made this our favorite experience of the trip and we can’t wait to watch him in the PGA one day. Jada was such a fun part of our trip and we looked forward to seeing her every night. She is so much fun and a joy to be around! Romane was an amazing driver who shuttled us to and from golf. Not only did he drive us, but he showed us all the special places in Ochos Rios and taught us about the culture and life here. He was amazing! We’ve recently spent 3 weeks in Sandals Dunn’s River. We had very spacious modern luxury rooms, first in Mammee Bay Club, then in the Travertine building looking into the hills. The staff and the management were incredibly attentive and friendly, and looked after us so well. We very much enjoyed the food, the pools, the beach and sea, the excellent equipped gym, the sailing activities. The room in the Mammee building had beautiful sea view but was too noisy for us from a very close-by other resort when sitting on the balcony, and we were offered another room in the Travertine building which suited us better. Sandals Dunn’s River is a very lively resort with lots of music and activities during the day and in the evening. We did find the noise level often too high on the site, and difficult to escape. We just returned from an absolutely incredible stay at Sandals Dunn’s River, and it exceeded every expectation we had! From the moment we arrived, the staff was truly out of this world—warm, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to making our experience unforgettable. The resort itself is pristine, beautifully maintained, and feels like a slice of paradise. Every detail is thoughtfully curated, and the atmosphere is both luxurious and relaxing. And the food—simply amazing! Every meal was delicious, with so many options that made each dining experience something to look forward to. A very special shoutout to Jhoneil, aka “Big Sexy,” who went above and beyond to make our stay even more memorable. His energy, personality, and exceptional service truly stood out! To say that we had an unforgettable experience at Sandals Dunns River would be an understatement. On February 26, 2026 my husband and I got married on the beach surrounded by our families and the wonderful staff that helped take part in making our trip as memorable at it was. From rescheduling our wedding due to the unfortunate devastation our Jamaican friends encountered in the hurricane, to another mess of unfortunate weather where we live that we encountered days before travel and a major health scare in between, it was a long road to the isle but we made it and developed lifelong friendships along the way. The following list of people are those whom you would be honored to deal with during your trip. These people have long lasting memories imprinted on our hearts and we are forever grateful they were a part of our love story. To our amazing butlers: Kimeka This woman is the epitome of professional. Kim gets the job done no matter what the request is. She will be your biggest hype girl and supporter of whatever type of vacation you are looking for. She is timely, efficient, and all about spreading love and positivity during your time with her. I cannot explain enough the level of professionalism this woman exudes and she truly has fun doing it. I’m so thankful we got to know her and I’m truly looking forward to a big hug from her when we get back on the island! Not only did Kim help us day to day but she was there to make sure we were having the wedding we deserved and seeing her checking in on us on our special day made us feel so taken care of. She made us feel like she was there because she cared about us… not because she had to be. Rocky Rocky is one of the most special people we’ve met in a really long time. He is positive, empathetic, smart, fun, and truly one of the most genuine people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. Getting to know Rocky was a special time for my husband and I. We learned that Rocky has roots in America that are close to our hearts and from that moment on we knew he’d be in our lives forever. Rocky had sound advice and encouraged us to get out of our comfort zone while at Dunns River. He gave us sound recommendations on restaurants and activities, put us in touch with our amazing driver, Kevin, but most importantly he recommended the Friday night Beach Party and boy are we thankful he did! We took a recommendation from him by doing something we would never normally do and it was one of the highlights to our trip! We listened to music, we ate amazing food and most importantly we spent time getting to know Rocky, not even realizing his shift was over but he never batted an eye. He spent time with us that he didn’t need to and actions like that speak very loud in an industry such as his. Rocky is in the perfect career. He makes hospitality look easy and speaking from experience, it’s not always so easy. Not only was Rocky attentive to our needs while we were on vacation but he made sure to check in on us when we were flying home and that’s a level of hospitality you can’t teach. He genuinely cares about his guests and he truly deserves the world. The Wedding Team: Rev. Dennis Taylor Thank you for hosting such a wonderful ceremony. We couldn’t have had a better officiant and we are so thankful you were a part of our day. Tonii Tonii took a tough situation and completely turned it around. If you’re looking for someone to make all of your dreams come true this is the woman for the job. Tonii has one of the biggest hearts you’ll ever have the pleasure of being around. She is patient, understanding and always willing to get the job done. I’m so happy that we had Tonii to get us through the headaches we encountered while wedding planning. If it weren’t for her we wouldn’t have had the wedding we always dreamt of so her diligence in getting things done is a high professional responsibility that few people have and if she is your on-site planner cherish her. You don’t know how lucky you are to have her on your team. Fitzroy This man deserves to get everything he desires in life. He was a banquet server during our wedding events but his job didn’t stop there and I’m truly mind blown by the attention he gave to us. He checked in on us multiple times a day while we were on vacation and he was always respectful and courteous. He grew to understand our habits and would do little things for us that showed he was always paying attention. The level of service he provided brought me to believe that he will easily be running his own Sandals Resort in his future and I can’t wait to see him succeed! Rhenea Rhenea is the hardest worker I’ve ever seen. She is kind, responsible, elegant and the wedding team and Sandals is lucky to have her. She did everything with poise and respect from pouring champagne, to clearing plates and guiding us in the right direction to fulfill expectations during our wedding reception. Wherever I looked, she was there, ready to take on the next task. I can’t say enough about this woman because words will never be enough to describe how amazing she is. I think about her professionalism daily because it is truly unlike anything I’ve ever seen. I am in awe of the way the job seems to come easy to her. If you take anything from the words I have to say take this: Rhenea knows exactly what she’s doing. Trust her and treat her well. You won’t regret getting to know her. She will always be there to support you. Photo/Video Team Nathan Nathan is the best videographer you could get. He is meticulous, funny, respectful and perfectly knows how to read a moment. You can tell Nathan has a vision while he’s working but my goodness the final product will blow you away. You can see the passion beading off of him while he works. Nathan is just incredibly fun to be around and not only did we get to see him in action from a videography standpoint but we also got to steal him for a little picture session that produced some of the best pictures we’ve ever had taken. We are so lucky Nathan came into our lives. Christopher When you think of a photographer think of Christopher. This man is top tier and it doesn’t get better than him. The pictures he was able to get of us have me stunned. The angles, the color schemes, the understanding of capturing the right moment. This man took a passion of his and turned it into a living and his talents don’t stop at photography. This man can do it all and I can’t wait to see him climb the Sandals ladder because I know that whatever he does in the world of hospitality he will thrive at. The Redlane Spa Gwendolyn This woman has the most warming smile and an even warmer hug. Every time I walked into the spa I was hoping to have an encounter with her. She’s full of peace, love, happiness and she’s funny too! I’m so thankful for the relationship we formed and the fact that she came to see us off upon our departure made me feel so loved. She went above and beyond for me and I’m so thankful for her hugs. Amanda This one lifted the stress right from my body! Amanda gave me the best message I’ve ever had and that’s not an exaggeration. She was peaceful, serene and a powerhouse. Not only did she give me a great message but she also helped me with skin concerns that actually helped heal the problems I’ve been facing. Her honestly and dedication to wellness is elite and I highly suggest anyone visits her. You won’t be sorry! Marsha Thank you for making me beautiful Marsha. Thank you for not only taking the time to do my hair and makeup but thank you for being my calm in the pre-wedding storm. I’m so thankful for your advice and encouragement and for making me feel as calm as possible while anxiously awaiting the moment I’ve been waiting for my whole life. You are a beautiful human being and your personality makes people feel safe and taken care of. Our visit to Sandals Dunn's River has renewed our love for the Sandals brand! Let's start with the staff! Top notch service all around. Super personable and they all went over and beyond to make our stay most pleasurable! Our butlers, Rock Wayne and Kimecka were on top of every detail; very professional, fun and responsive. Bartenders Omar and Mario were always attentive and made us feel special! The playmakers were phenomenal at their jobs. Entertainment was great! The beach party was SO MUCH FUN!
