Don’t go to Sandals Dunns River!!!!!

Lots of empty promises, no delivery. They tell you that things will get taken care of only to be kicked down the road till the of your trip when you find out you’re sitting with a large Bill credits were not applied. Communication between team members is nonexistent and or extremely poor when it comes to scheduling activities and excursions. They will tell you that you’re going at a plan time only to have you show up day and state that the trip is not happening. You’ll spend most of your time asking for things to be resolved, on our first Sandals trip we booked an offshore fishing trip only to show up and be told that we would not go. We were charged $645. The resort manager stated we would get our refund. . It is a year later still no refund, similar situation on our second trip as we decided to try and give them a second chance there will be no third. There are a few staff members ( like /Jacqueline -resort shop manager))that care, but I think that “standard practice” or “club policy” prevents them from doing what is right. In the end it leaves you feeling duped and in an awkward situation and a silent trip back home. Read less

A splendid retreat for a perfect anniversary: exquisite food, hospitable staff and beautiful gardens!

What a magnificent escape for our wedding anniversary! We have been to many Sandals and this resort by far redefines hospitality and it takes customer service to amazing levels: it is beautiful, intimate and the gardens are lush and perfectly maintained, excellent for memorable and romantic pictures. Staff is outstanding, rooms are immaculate, and the food is absolutely superb; there is live entertainment for every age and preference as well as various fun activities. Though everyone we encountered has been pleasant and quite attentive, we’d like to acknowledge a few true stars that made our stay so bright and beautiful: -our chef extraordinaire, Pastor T’jon from Saltaire who made sure as plant-based eaters we would savor every single meal. Orwen and Javoy are exceptional servers all around with a great sense of humor and incredible riddles, respectively! -Jevone and Rachel (Club Sandals) went the extra mile to add finesse and attention to every detail of our stay. -Our favorite restaurant remains Cascata with the one and only Salvatore and Tawana, the hostess with the mostess and the great chef Massimiliano. -Front desk team is so cheery and efficient in a professional and very personalized manner: Shamoya, Franz, Novia,, Ziane and Tiana are a few that left a memorable impression on us. -Zuka restaurant would not be the same without Monique, the greatest server so polite and mature for her very young age. -Michael remains the incredible butler who seeks to assist wherever he sees the need. The ultimate restaurant manager (L’Amande) is Jermaine (JT) everyone adores and remembers: he is personable and has the greatest customer and staff awareness, always a pleasure to encounter: positive, vivacious and so observant. He truly anticipates any possible need and his genuine love and care for people comes through consistently. Christopher (gardens) welcomed us back with coconut water decorated with flowers for our anniversary. He is very knowledgeable and gave us an incredibly informative garden tour. -Jevoy in Loyalty patiently assisted us with our next booking. Our favorite team is the spa: Gwen with her warmth and jovial spirit as well as magic hands for massages and facials, Jaqueline, Shanakay, Sue-Ann and Khadeija made our spa visits so unforgettable! -This review would not be complete without mentioning Shantell from Blum Cafe who is quite friendly and stellar! Celebrating 60TH Birthday at Sandals Dunns River

We just returned from our trip to Sandals Dunns River to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday, not to mention our 33rd wedding anniversary. We normally don't write reviews but this is the exception to the rule. Simply because everything about our trip was exceptional. From the accommodations to the grounds to the cuisine and to the star of the show the beach and the ocean. But none of these things would be possible, were it not for the team of hospitality experts making it all happen. My wife and I were fortunate enough to encounter such a team at Sandal Dunns River. We would like to take this time to acknowledge and gratefully thank those individuals who went out of their way to ensure that our every need and desire were met with an aura of professionalism and a smile as warm as the Jamaican sun. A very heart felt thank you to Sammel, Novia, Franz, Tiana , Lacianne, Paul, Danroy, King, Lexis, Sheffon, Kimone, Latisha, Shanice, Hennessy, Slim shady, Omanda, Shavia, Jada, and Kimberley. You all had a part in making us feel welcome and right at home and for that we're forever grateful, job well done. but as an ice cream sundae isn't complete without the cherry on top, we would like to give special acknowledgement and recognition to the one employee that we feel is the true embodiment of professionalism and hospitality, an old soul in a youthful and witty body, full of resort knowledge and the true spirit of servanthood and help. Easiest Wedding Planning Decision We’ve Ever Made: Let Sandals Staff Plan It While We Enjoy The Food!

We went to Sandals Dunn’s River for our wedding and honeymoon combined. We had a beautiful daytime beach wedding! It was also incredibly easy to plan on top of our booking, our wedding planner Javel was amazing every step of the way! We had been in contact with her since before the wedding, and she was one of the first people we saw at the resort to show us around and make some last minute decisions. She also kept up with us after the wedding for the honeymoon portion of our trip! Along with the wonderful staff and beautiful beaches, the food is also to die for. Pro tip: if you ever get the chance to personally get to know your server or chef, do it! They’ll offer extra services, like Chef Vikram at Banyu who invited us in one night for a special off-menu dinner. He made a delicious Singaporean-inspired noodle dish, and we ended up at Banyu three times during a week long trip. Would recommend Dunn’s River to anyone who wants to seriously feel like they’re at their home away from home. If it wasn’t for my cats, I would never leave. Read less

We have been back home for a month and we still miss Sandals Dunn’s River and its fabulous people! We felt welcomed from the moment that we stepped off the shuttle from MBJ. We stayed 6th floor in a club level room in the Mammee building and were graced each morning with a view of the sunrise over the ocean. Our room was kept clean and comfortable every day. Thanks to our wonderful housekeeper Antoinette. Club Sandals concierge, Lancelot insured that our requests were met. On our 1st night we dined at L’Almande where Cian took really good care of us, being two tired travellers! He certainly left a good feel for our 1st dining experience on the property. We dined at all of the restaurants, with the exception of Hanami. With each one, we were quite pleased as food was delicious and served in a timely manner, always by fabulous and welcoming staff. The entertainment staff, under the leadership of the fabulous Hennessy, aka Mother Hen, were so very talented and interactive with the guests! We met the lovely and talented Omanda on our 1st night and the following day she saw us and called us by name!! Wow! Way to make someone feel at home!!! The rest of the team including Rebecca-Jane, Tiana, Skekeela, Shivia, Akeem, Ray, Johneil, Jordon, Conrad, and Jevon were all fantastic too! Their talent shines through every day/night! They were so very courteous. The property landscaping is absolutely stunning!! The grounds are immaculate and to just walk through gives a sense of peace and relaxation! One day we were walking along a path and one of the groundskeepers was walking a little distance in front of us. He suddenly stopped and turned around and did a little snip off a bush, that was maybe protruding a little! Good eye!!! Hats off to Jesse-Jo and his fantastic team! We visited the beautiful Red Lane Spa, and after visiting 6 other Sandals properties, this one blew it out of the ballpark! The staff, the area..amazing! We did a couples massage, and I had a facial and mani. The beautiful Ms. Antoinette treated me with such care, kindness and respect. I felt so comfortable with her doing my services. We met Ms. Karen on the day that we arrived, and she did my husband’s massage! She was amazing. And, she always checked on us whenever she saw us outside of the Spa. I commented to my husband that she was like a Mother. One day, my husband was waiting for me while I was having my treatment. Ruben made sure that he was comfortable while he waited and had warm conversation with him. Each time that we went back to the spa, Ruben always made us feel at home! Everyone that we encountered there, were amazing! I wish that I remembered their names! If you dine at Saltaire for breakfast or lunch Robert will kindly escort you to your table. You need to find Orwen! He is the most friendly and attentive server that we’ve experienced! (He reminded me a mature gentleman, Robert, at SRC) Orwen escorted us to the buffet on Jamaican cuisine day to insure that we could taste some truly Jamaican delights! He even put covers (little dishes) on our champagne glasses if we left our table to go to the buffet! Talk about attention to detail! This young man absolutely knows how to treat guests! We always got great bar service but some bartenders/servers stood out above the rest! Hensue always, and I mean always, whenever he saw us, checked to see that all was well and our beverages were to our liking! Jauvon at Lapitis made the best espresso martinis and even went above and beyond to get me decaffeinated espresso to use in it! He as well was such a pleasure to chat with. Sherwayne was also in the top league! Always friendly and attentive. Then there was Ms Cupidon! Such a sweet, caring, friendly young lady! She always greeted us and asked if we were doing okay. Be sure to go to Blum!! The Blue Mountain coffee and treats assortment were delicious!! The beautiful seating area outside is serene! The ladies who work there were always welcoming and smiling. I forgot their names! Marsha at Edessa gave us wonderful breakfast service. She even asked me to cut my egg beni to insure that the cook was how I liked it! Ms. Vanessa from Loyalty watched over us from the start!! She was so attentive and always stopped to chat! She holds a special place in our hearts. We had the pleasure of meeting and dining with Ms. Melissa the Hotel Manager. It was apparent that she is truly committed to a positive vacation experience for her guests! If you’re on the fence about staying at Sandals Dunn’s River, just do it! It holds the warmth of the beautiful Jamaican people and also the Jamaican want—to-be’s!
