5 Stars We were fortunate enough to go to Sandals Grande Antigua for a second time. We went back because the food is amazing, the staff are so accommodating, the grounds are spectacular and well cared for and the rooms are state-of-the-art. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted, and given a drink while we waited to be checked in. Selassey , after checking us in, gave us a brief overview of the resort and escorted us to our room. We grabbed a drink from the closest bar, which was only steps away from our room. Our luggage hadn’t been delivered within 30 minutes, so I called down to the desk and Selassey promptly brought them to us. I cannot speak to the restaurants of OK Corral and Soys, but I can say that the food in every other restaurant was excellent. We especially loved Mario’s: the anti-pasta was great and the main courses were even better. I have to call out Chad, who was an excellent server who anticipated our every need . He even knew when we would like a second drink, and it arrived as we finished the first one. I also have to give a call out to Violet at Eleanor‘s who was a joy and very attentive and friendly I also have to mention Ursula, Claudine and Kashika of the Drunken Duck who brought me a cake to celebrate my birthday while engaging the patrons of the bar to sing me happy birthday. In addition, and much to my surprise, Selassey and two coworkers came to my room, sang me happy birthday and gave me a bottle of Champagne. All and all we had a fantastic time at Sandals Grande Antigua and will be going back in the near future!!! Peter & Annette Turner Read less

Something different every night and catered for all tastes in music Again all the staff were professional and friendly. Staff EVERY ONE From the housekeepers to Restaurants/ bar staff , went out of their way to ensure we were looked after. So friendly and polite. Nothing was too much trouble. A special shout out to Devindra ( sorry if spelling is wrong ) who was a photographer and also started waiting at Ellenors. He put us at ease doing a photoshoot, was so friendly and took the most beautiful photos of us with the sunset. Overall the best holiday we have ever had. Would 100 % recommend this beautiful holiday destination Only thing we would change is to arrange transfers to airport earlier. The airport was chaotic and left very little time to get a drink, last minute shopping. Before boarding. Read less

We enjoyed Soy, we sat at the bar which is always fun. Barefoot was great as was Bayside. We did manage to get all the bookings we wanted but not the times. Fun trip shop and Snorkle with the water sports team accompanied by Jamail and fat boy he wasn’t fat but they really looked after us and I thought great value for money. Another shout out to Sheena at the bar on the Caribbean side, Always cheerful. The staff here are a credit to the hotel. Our room was kept immaculate all week by Renee. Gardens are beautiful. Now I have stayed both sides I prefer the Caribbean, just a bit more quaint. The room was a little dated on med side but that didn’t worry us and although faces the sea there was a huge palm totally blocking the view. Still a shame the parrots are in reception in a small cage. They do get them out but they could be located to larger lovely spot in the gardens away from the noise in the evenings. Hubby also missed the t shirts! Read less

four-star resort at best, with clear highs and lows. The positives: lively entertainment every night with some genuinely talented singers, and consistently good food. It’s not fine dining, so set expectations accordingly and you’ll enjoy it. Big shout to Ja-Moi. He is a photographer who dances. He always gave us time and taught me some moves! The negatives: service is the biggest letdown. As regular boutique hotel guests, we found it impersonal and at times outright rude. Mario’s Restaurant was particularly disappointing — staff often seemed disengaged, with one server notably unhappy and uninterested. Service across the resort is generally slow and falls short of what you’d expect from a property marketed as luxury. Finally, the poolside experience needs improvement — butlers reserve many of the best sunbeds early, meaning you’ll need to be up before them if you want a decent spot. Read less
