The ones by the sea were reserved by butlers but they are only 3 rows deep. In fact it meant that you weren’t troubled by the buskers or people selling jewellery and the like. There were beach servers regularly attending instead of your butler serving you. Big shout out to Janil for ‘cocktails of the day’ and looking after us. Lunch - we enjoyed having lunch away from the beach but you could always take it back there to eat if you wish. Butlers were delivering food direct to the loungers. Restaurants - we made all our restaurant bookings at the culinary bookings desk with no issues at all. All of the restaurants were first class snd you could even have lobster or fillet steak at the Sundowner. We are big ‘foodies’ and it made our holiday to visit different restaurants every evening without scrabbling over buffet food. Everyone had the same experience at the bars and evening entertainment. All the bar tenders were very friendly despite how busy they might be. The Sandals team are super friendly and always speak as they pass you by, no matter what their position. You really are made to feel very welcome, even without a butler 😉 Did we feel that we missed out on any way! Absolutely not, we had the best time and loved our first visit to a Sandals resort. Either too sweet or overloaded with alcohol really poor, inconsistent quality. Food was average although the staff very nice and housekeeping was good. We were overwhelmed by the amount of loud Americans - not for us. Read less

We just returned from another fantastic stay at Sandals Negril, and once again, it reminded us why we keep coming back year after year. The biggest reason is simple — the staff. They truly make this resort one of a kind. Our butlers, Orlando and Dr. G, went above and beyond to make every day special. Their attention to detail and genuine care never go unnoticed. A huge shoutout as well to Orlando Cocker at the pool cabanas — he is the BEST! If you’re considering booking a cabana for the day, do not hesitate. He takes such great care of guests and makes the experience unforgettable. The staff at the Tapas restaurant were incredible — every single one of them was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. And the food? Absolutely spectacular. It continues to be our favorite restaurant at the resort. Keron from photography always captures the best moments and somehow makes every photo session feel comfortable and fun. He truly makes you feel right at home. My wife especially loved the pool aerobics this year and thought the instructor did a fantastic job keeping everyone engaged and having fun. At the end of the day, it’s the people at Sandals Negril that keep us coming back. The service, friendliness, and personal connections make every visit feel like coming home. Read less

We have just returned form a 9 night visit to Sandals Negril. As a caveat, this wasn’t our first choice hotel for this trip. We actually booked Secrets Montego Bay, but due to the terrible storms last year, the hotel was closed and so we were moved to Sandals. We are however, returning Sandals guests, having stayed at 4 other Sandals resorts in the past. We had a slightly bumpy start to our trip, we were allocated room 3303, a long shore luxury room, but there was nothing luxury or close to ‘the shore’ about it, it was actually on top of the main road with no patio or balcony facing away from the sea. Not what we expected. Although, it was the room we booked, so something we will take up with our Travel Agent. It was a surprise to us that actually, the main pool, reception and a good number of rooms are on a loud main road with plenty of traffic, We raised our disappointment with the room with Cion, the Director of guest services who made herself available throughout our stay and provided us with exemplary customer service, she is a great asset to Sandals and without her our stay would never have been what it was. We were lucky with availability and were able to upgrade to a club room, within the paradise village building, room 5144 and it was an amazing room, we would highly recommend if you are able to request or choose. We could enjoy our patio, whilst not being too close to the path, we could enjoy the beach and the sea which was only a few steps from the room, it was always clean, the air conditioning was excellent, and the bar was always replenished. Unfortunately, as good as the room was, we found that service wasn’t the standard we would have expected for Sandals The service was slow, sometimes waiting as long as 20 minutes just for a glass of water. Pizzas at Bella Napoli would take as long as an hour most times we ordered. Lunch at Perla was hit and miss nobody taking orders or offering any service at points, this also happened to us on more than one occasion when after late bites too. It says it’s open until 6am, however, we went late a few times and there was absolutely no one there. The piano bar had a piano but nobody ever played it, again very different to other Sandals we have stayed at, where you get a singalong around the piano most nights, which is always a crowd pleaser. We also had to go and get our own espresso if we wanted an Espresso Martini. Not something you would expect to have to do for such a popular drink. We also found that the service wasn’t always as friendly as we are used to. You could wait at the bar for a considerable amount of time before even being acknowledged. No one knew who was next in line, so you would also wait longer with people coming up after you getting served fist. When politely pointing this out one night, one of the bar tenders was actually very rude and I would go so far as to say m,aggressive: It made us feel very uncomfortable and weary of him for the rest of the trip. Our favourite restaurant was probably Brava we enjoyed the Spanish tapas style, however the White Wine isn’t kept it a fridge, it’s just left on the top to go warm. Not ideal. We went to Kimonos only to discover it was a tepinyaki restaurant only, no separate restaurant for Soy, very different to every other Sandals we have been too, and something we were not aware of. We ate at every restaurant and we found the food menu’s were small and basic, lacking variety but of more concern was the immensely poor service at all of them. It is also worth noting that we found the wifi to be very poor outside of your room or the reception area. This has to be better. We purchased the premium wifi but this was just as bad, so we cancelled the purchase but they did give us a refund. In our overall opinion the food and service at this resort does not stand up to the cost that the Sandals brand charges. This has affected our overall score. However, it wasn’t all bad, credit where it is due and Ann-Marie at Barefoot was always smiling and helpful. Leon for the entertainment crew was bubbly and fun, then Kyle and Tardo who were 2 barmen did offer good service. We were able to relax into our holiday very quickly, this was mainly due to Cion and our excellent room but also due to the character and charm of what is one of the oldest Sandals resorts, we found it really peaceful and tranquil, able to relax and chill. We found the concierge service which comes with Club Level m a great addition. You get room service at no cost, as well as additional drinks in your room. A real added bonus. This holiday was a real mixed bag, the service and food let the hotel down, however the room, the charm and peacefulness of the hotel along with the excellent customer service provided by Cion allowed us to enjoy a brilliant break. If they could improve on a few things, we would go back, but as it stands I wouldn’t recommend it to friends and family at the price point, which is shame. Read less

Biohazard incident dismissed by management – Unsanitary and unprofessional I am beyond disgusted by our experience at this resort. What should have been a relaxing vacation turned into a nightmare of poor hygiene and gaslighting from management. The Towel Incident: On June 5th, we left our room at 2:40 PM while the cleaning staff was entering. Upon returning from our tour around 7:00 PM, we showered, only to discover that one of the towels we had left hanging to dry had feces on it. Someone had clearly used our personal towel to wipe themselves. We immediately went to the front desk. The manager, Neressa, said she would investigate. However, when we followed up after dinner, her attitude was appalling. She claimed the towel was simply "used to clean" and wasn't feces—essentially calling us liars. She treated a biohazard discovery like a "simple mistake." It wasn't until we threatened to write this review that she suddenly decided to "investigate further." Management Failure: The next day, we were directed via a letter under our door to use the "GINA" app/WhatsApp to speak with Cion, the Director of Guest Services. During our meeting at 5:45 PM on 6/6/2026, Cion dismissed our claims entirely, stating that cameras didn't show anything being brought in or out of the room. This ignores the fact that the incident happened inside the room. Neressa was also present and conveniently "forgot" her previous admission that the towel had been used by staff for cleaning. They were completely unsympathetic and made us feel like our safety and hygiene didn't matter. Check-in & Facility Issues: Check-in Delays: We arrived at 1:00 PM and watched as other guests who arrived with us—and even after us—received their rooms immediately. Despite this, our room wasn't ready until after 4:00 PM. We never received a property orientation. Room Maintenance: The air conditioner was cooling, but never got cold enough to keep us comfortable. To top it off, the cable TV did not work at all on our final day. Cleanliness: The pool bar is filthy. For five straight days, the same dirt and debris sat in the bar area without being cleaned. Connectivity: Cell service is non-existent, and the resort Wi-Fi is incredibly slow and spotty—unacceptable for a resort of this "caliber." The Only Positive: The only saving grace was some of the bartenders and servers. There are staff members here who actually care and go out of their way to connect with guests and make things right, but their hard work is completely overshadowed by incompetent management and disgusting sanitary standards. Advice to travelers: Stay away. If management doesn’t take human waste in guest rooms seriously, they don’t deserve your business. Read less
