Sandals Negril staff is very good. Chris the piano bar bartender is excellent. Very personable and welcoming. He remembers us year after year, and works hard to keep guests happy. Staff is wonderful. Food is amazing. Beach is beautiful and well kept. My only negative comment, sandals needs a better system for reserving beach chairs. People put their towels down early morning then disappear until mid afternoon.

If you want to know about the mini bar and linens, move on to the next review. If you want to know why Sandals Negril is great, it's the people. I'm not talking about other guests (which can be amusing), I'm talking about the Jamaican people who work at this resort. They are the true treasure, full of kindness, wisdom and pride. Please be sure to engage with everyone, everyday...you will leave with your heart full and spirit lifted. This resort also has the best beach if you are a walker! We have been visiting Sandals Negril since 1996 (30 years!). Therefore, we are very connected and loyal to this property (but also visited many other Sandals). We are so pleased to see the continued changes and upgrades to management, staff, property, entertainment and dining. We were very committed to coming to Jamaica despite the aftermath of hurricane Melissa in October 2025. Tourism is #1 for Jamaica and we were happy to support. We were astounded at the resiliency of staff and local vendors despite what most went through and continue to endure. Beautiful resorts and beaches are all over the world, but it's the Jamaican people and spirit that makes it special, unique, and keeps us returning. Sandals has figured out the secret recipe! Beautiful location, luxury accommodations and outstanding staff. Included in that perfect recipe is the new General Manager Melissa Clark. After 30 years, to see a female GM was spectacular. She has great leadership energy which was perfect fit. I was also pleased to see my dear friend Carlton Christie (Chris) who has been a long time loyal employee. He's a great bartender (piano bar) and always welcomes us "home". Ms. Sandra works at various bars and always greets you with a smile (and sometimes a song if you are lucky). Shadae in loyalty travel was also a positive light during our stay. She helped us from check-in to greeting us each day, checking to make sure we were OK and just providing excellent customer service. She gets hospitality and I look forward to seeing her rise in the organization. Shantal was our favorite girl on the beach/bars this trip. She was working at different locations but always greeting us with a big smile and conversation each day which made us so happy. We also got daily greetings (and hugs) from Josh, Enron & Breaker in watersports. We didn't dive this trip but got certified by that team many years ago. We have been connected ever since and consider them family. We met a new shining star in watersports named Dennis. He greeted us each day as we did his various tasks on the beach. Lastly Sasha in housekeeping made our stay so comforting. She was a constant positive vibe throughout our stay and did a great job keeping our room clean and welcoming. So as you can see, we love Sandals Negril and all that comes with it. As a side note, Sandals went above and beyond for their staff during the aftermath of the hurricane by keeping them on salary during the short closure and providing provisions and other help. The employees were beaming with appreciation, and I feel good knowing our dollars are being spent with a company that values their people. Read less

This was our 4th trip to Sandals (previously stayed at Royal Caribbean and Dunn’s). We stayed in a walkout Paradise club level room. The room was clean, updated, and the resort grounds were lovely. However, we won’t be back to Sandals Negril. Our first room (5106) had trouble getting hot water to the shower. It took 20 minutes to get lukewarm water and would randomly get cold as you showered. It was also next to the lobby and very loud during the evening entertainment. We asked to be moved and they put us in 5132. This room had hot water but would randomly scald you during your shower. Also, the toilet only had enough water to flush every other flush. I book exclusively with Sandals because of my food allergies (dairy and gluten). I’ve had great experiences with other properties and was hoping for the same this trip. However, their culinary concierge day one was clearly annoyed that I asked to plan my meals like I’ve done on other properties. After a few back and forths of her telling me I couldn’t have certain dishes, I asked to speak directly with the head chef. He was friendly and trying to help but wasn’t partially knowable about allergens on property. He was excited to show me his new dairy free ice cream and brought out the ingredient list. In the ingredients, it listed “sodium caseinste (a milk derivative)”. I thanked him for the list but pointed out that it wasn’t dairy free. He argued with me for awhile and then googled it. I had to visit the culinary concierge a couple of times to try and organize safe meals, was promised dessert that didn’t usually arrive (and was gross when it did), and I was terrified that I was going to be handed my allergen. Additionally, my husband found multiple pin bones in his fish on 3 separate occasions. We gave up trying to eat at Sandals and took a taxi to Beaches Negril 3 nights. I had wonderful, safe meals at Beaches and will be back. I was also served df/gf crème brûlée, a brownie, cookies, and an apple pie bar. The staff at Beaches went above and beyond to make sure I was fed and made me feel cared for. Lenny at Beaches was particularly helpful. Astina at their culinary concierge desk was amazing. She knew what was safe, offered suggestions, and even walked us to our lunch destination. I would love to work with her again. We also rented a pool side cabana at Sandals one day. It was nice to have shade and a relaxing place to spend the day. However, towards the end of the day, our cabana butler decided we needed an hour sermon on positivity. We tried to politely steer the conversation or end it but he kept going. It was unwelcome, unpleasant, and stressful. (We lost a family member we considered to be one of our kids suddenly 3 years ago. She was 22. Somebody preaching at us that we should always be positive and that there’s a reason for everything was traumatic). I ended up sobbing and made up a reason to leave. We canceled our second cabana day and dodged the butler the last few days of our trip. This wasn’t a relaxing way to spend a week. Read less

We stayed at Sandals Negril last year and loved it so much that we decided to book to go again same time this year and I have to say, it did not disappoint! It is a lovely resort, pretty chilled but you can always find fun and there are lots of fun places to explore outside of the resort both day and night too. We went on a boat trip one day with Dylan from the water sports team and had the best afternoon!! WE SAW DOLPHINS! 🤩 He was such a great host, laid flowers out on the boat for us and was absolutely the host with the most song, dance and fun! The food both years has been excellent. Way above most all inclusive resorts we have stayed in and if you are going to splash out on a butler, they will not disappoint! Last year, Ian, Damon and O’Dane looked after us and were superb. I didn’t realise that you could request again and seeing them at the resort a year later, they treated us like seeing family again which was absolutely lovely. This year, Shanice and Romaine looked after us and they were absolutely fantastic too. We could not want for anything.. I feel so much love and so much gratitude for them all. Extra big squeezes for Shanice! The most beautiful bean ❤️ We already looking forward to our next trip. Thank you to all at sandals negril with extra thanks to our fantastic butlers ❤️ Read less
