Beautiful Hotel - directly across from the Garrison race track and only a 10 minute walk from Pebbles Beach. We stayed here as part of our recent visit to the island and were pleasantly surprised. The room we were in was beautiful. It had a stairway directly down to the pool and the largest bed I think I've ever slept in. The hotel was beautifully appointed and clean, with a wonderful beach bar that had views out to the Caribbean Sea for those amazing sunsets so typical of Barbados. The room was extremely spacious, clean, and with plenty of hanging and drawer space. The bathroom was newly refurbished and relatively large - ample for our needs. The hotel has a gym - which some may find a necessity, it's relatively well equipped with a plenty of kit to tide you over. The food at the hotel was the only let down. The only saving grace was the thai/fusion restaurant which was open twice a week. The buffets leave a great deal to be desired but to be honest it's the same story in many of the AI hotels on the island - food is mainly imported so they do the best they can with what they have. Don't expect European diversity of dishes - it's rice, salad, macaroni, and some sort of meat dish. Fine for one night but it does get tiresome. The bar staff were all great - really quick with service and would pretty much make you whatever drink you requested (as long as it wasn't premium spirits). The beach at the hotel is non-existent. There are lots of pebbles/rocks on entering the sea so you need footwear if you're going to be that adventurous. The beach is a mixture of course sand and tree roots as the hotel beach frontage is lined with trees and the sea has exposed a large collection of roots. It's a good idea to grab what you need for the beach and walk 10 minutes to Pebbles/Carlisle bay to use the loungers on offer at one of the many beach clubs (Savvy our favourite). Do be aware though that the hotel has quite a few stairways to navigate when getting about. Read less

We have just returned from a week at the Savanna, we choose to stay there after a week of cruising the Caribbean. This turned out to be the perfect place to relax after a very busy week visiting other islands and we would throughly recommend this hotel. On arrival we were treated to freshly made rum punch which was very nice and strong and a member of staff gave us information on the hotel. We arrived around 1pm direct from the cruise ship with around 20 or so of us at the same time. Check in wasn’t until 3pm. If your room was ready you were able to check in but you are not given your all inclusive bands until 3pm. We got our room and bands just short of 3pm and were shown to our room which was room 355. A lovely big room, slightly dated but still nice and clean. Immaculate fresh bedding on a massive double bed which proved to be extremely comfortable and we slept really well in the week we were there. The hotel grounds are really nice but a word of warning, if you have trouble with mobility then this is probably not the right place for you. There are a lot of steps to get up and down to the pool and beach from your rooms and up to two of the restaurants, Rachel’s and Chopstix. The third restaurant, Drifters is down near the beach. Before our holiday I had seen reviews with people complaining about the booking system for going to the restaurants as being difficult. We found absolutely no problem at all dining where we wished to each night. My wife has a very difficult food intolerance caused by a medical issue rather than an allergy to any food. Once all the chef’s were aware of this they couldn’t do enough to make sure my wife had food she could enjoy for the rest of the week. A special thanks to all those chef’s and also to Alicia, Quinnel and Nikita, the restaurant supervisors who facilitated this for my wife everyday. We never tried to go to Chopstix but the food in the other two restaurants was great whether it was a buffet or Al a Cart. Also at Drifters you can get pizza, burgers, hotdogs etc as a change from buffet food if you wish to do so. All the staff we met were extremely friendly, helpful and happy to help in anyway they could. We never used the pool area as we preferred the beach setting which was lovely sand and there were plenty of sun-beds and if required shade could be found under the palm trees 🌴. The sea is quite rocky and not suitable for swimming but just a lovely short walk to the left or right brings you to some other beach areas which are suitable to swim in. I think you can always find fault in any hotel you stay in and for us there were a few minor little things that got sorted pretty well as soon as we mentioned them. The only thing we would really criticize would be that we only had 2 Al a Cart nights whilst there and more options to do this would have been great As far as the Savanna goes we think it was a great place to chill out in a perfect location for sightseeing. It has lovely walks to other beaches and other things worth seeing in the area. It is very easy to get around the area and it seemed very safe to get out and about at anytime. In all, we really enjoyed our visit to this hotel and will be a place we would love to visit again soon Read less

This was our 1st time in Barbados and also 1st time staying at a Savannah hotel. We were a little nervous as we normally stay at larger hotels or Adults only hotels. The previous week we were on a Tui Marella cruise sailing on the Explorer for Taste of Paradise and then our 2nd week, we had booked 1 week stay at the Savannah. We were totally blown away by the hotel and it exceeded all our expectations for food quality, location of the hotel, design & layout of the hotel, the friendly and kind staff. We stayed in room 323 – The Coral Wing, which was very large and had a beautiful feel. Restaurants We were extremely worried the hotel had only 3 restaurants, as we were used to hotels with 13 Al Cartes. However, we never got tired of the food at breakfast, lunch and variety. The selection and food quality was far superior to the larger chain of hotels we had previously stayed at. The meals had a home-cooked feel, especially the desserts. The food at Chopstix was delicious and we really enjoyed all our meals at Drifters and Rachel’s. We could not fault the food or service. Entertainment We loved the live singers during the evening, which were all extremely talented. The fire show and other entertainment provided during the day and evening time was top-notch. Once again, we were shocked at the high level of entertainment for such a smaller hotel and there was entertainment every day. Since experiencing The Savannah Beach club hotel and the bespoke personal touch, better food quality and interaction with the staff, it has made us change our opinion and we will defiantly consider smaller boutique hotels, in the future. We have booked to stay at this hotel again as part of our next cruise and cannot wait to return next year. Thank you to all the staff at The Savannah hotel who made our holiday so memorable. Read less
