This resort exceeded my expectations I especially loved how they kept my little ones busy as my husband and I enjoyed some much needed alone time. I chose the Savannah Beach Club hotel for my first visit to Barbados as a solo traveller. I booked the all-inclusive package for a 7-night stay and it was an excellent choice! I was warmly welcomed by the staff as well as Savannah the lovely resort cat. The location of the resort is perfect: located on a UNESCO World Heritage site with easy access to the historic Garrison area and to Bridgetown. I was able to explore the local area easily and safely. I booked an excursion through St.James Travel & Tours. A lovely agent, Antoinette, arrived at the hotel lobby to arrange my booking. It was so simple and easy to book and the 80 mile island tour was really good. The beach was easily accessible and I enjoyed reading my book peacefully and would pop over to the beachfront bar for an ice-cold drink. The beautiful tropical landscaping around the resort creates a relaxing and tranquil environment as does the meandering river swimming pool. The atmosphere was quiet and friendly; the staff and guests warmly greeted each other around the resort. I stayed in the Deluxe King Courtyard Garden View room. The size and cleanliness of the room was impressive. The bed was comfortable. I had a lovely patio, with chairs and a table, looking onto the garden where I would sit and relax. The dining was excellent: Caribbean and Asian fusion options. I enjoyed the wide variety of dishes and tempting desserts on offer each mealtime at the restaurants. The salad bar, mixed vegetable medley and the marlin fish were my favourites. The Chopstix dining experience night also offered delicious food. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of foods: cereal, cakes/croissants, yogurts, fruits, and hot food such as scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon and pancakes. The hotel provided entertainment including: a singing duo at the beachfront bar one evening, a saxophone player/singer one lunchtime, and two DJs on two separate evenings, all of whom were great. I would like to thank all the staff at the Savannah Beach Club Hotel for making my first visit to Barbados so enjoyable. Although I was a solo guest, I felt quite comfortable and the staff were very attentive and friendly. Apologies to any members of staff who do not get a mention as I did not get all of their names. Thank you to: Ramon (activities coordinator) who lead the aqua aerobics class was friendly and professional. He also recommended that I witness the daily ritual of the racehorses swimming in the ocean at sunrise on Pebbles Beach, a short walk from the hotel. This was an amazing experience that completed my holiday; Nadia (waitress) was lovely, the waitress with a ponytail was friendly, attentive and entertaining whilst dancing and singing to the music; Alicia (waitress) was very attentive making sure I had enough water and described herself as "the crazy one" with her outgoing and bubbly personality. She got everyone at the beachfront bar up on the dancefloor to dance the Calypso which made my last night at the resort memorable; Richard (barman) friendly and efficient; Roger (waiter) attentive and professional; the young waiter at Rachel's on Saturday night was polite and attentive topping up my water; Ariannah: lovely and helpful; The Executive Chef: friendly, professional, attentive and informative; General Catering Manager was friendly; General Hotel Manager was very professional and informative; Restaurant hostess: very professional and courteous; The gardeners and beach towel staff were also friendly and helpful; let's not forget the cleaners! The ladies on the front desk were lovely and welcoming, efficient, informative and helpful - nothing was too much trouble! Thank you Savannah Beach Club Hotel. Room was a nice size and kept clean, bed was massive and really comfy. Breakfast was good, lunch amd dinner was a bit hit and miss, found the restaurant upstairs was better, you need to book in for dinner each morning and can check availability at breakfast for Rachel's or Drifters. What let it down for us was the beach, the shore is so rocky you can't even paddle. The beach is sandy but there were needles from the trees so not nice to walk on. There is a free shuttle bus to Copacabana beach three times a week, which was nice but disappointing when you're expecting a beautiful sandy beach where you're staying. Read less

Went for a wedding.. 1st night was cocktail and it was all over the place the event coordinator can't coordinate for her life. 2nd day was the wedding event coordinator showed up at 12:30 pm for a 3:00pm wedding which had to get push back to 4:00pm. Wouldn't advise anyone to hold any event here, if you are a timely person. The hotel staff very nice people. Front desk staff personal shout out great people. Shout out to the bartenders amazing at mixing drinks... If it wasn't for them God only knows. Read less
