When my husband and I arrived at the Savannah Beach Hotel we were told we had to have a $200. security hold on our credit card, which is refundable upon check out. I said to the receptionist not to place a hold on the card and she said all she needed was the card number. So she didn’t place a $200US hold on my credit card. Make sure you tell the receptionist you do t want them to hold the $200 US on your card. However, you do need pay the $65 US tax non refundable fee. This is for all guests. 1/ It wasn’t an all inclusive as we had paid for which was another shock to us. In order to get premium liquor we would have to return 4 times as repeat guests. There was absolutely no refreshments stocked in the room fridge because of this reason as well. My husband and I basically had basic alcoholic drinks. He couldn’t even have a shot of whiskey. Only beer, wine, tropical drinks and that’s about it. In Cuba you get everything all inclusive. Even the lack of alcohol at some resorts you would still get the effect of all inclusive, including stocked up fridges with alcohol and refreshments in the room. At least in Cuba you have beautiful beaches and all premium alcohol with all inclusive packages and there is absolutely no $200us holding credit card fees. 2/ The pool was very small and not accommodating to the number of guests. The swim up pool area was extremely small and separated from the lazy river pool area. There were too many kids in the swim up pool to even enjoy yourself. I would not recommend this resort to any older couples or couples with no children. 3/ There was absolutely no beach area on the resort itself. We had to walk ten minutes away from the resort and rent chairs for $20/day. We went to Carlisle beach. The beach where we stayed is a cliff of sand with tree roots and rocks. In reality you would be paying $20/day for chairs which would be $100 for 5 days. That’s outrageous. We were extremely disappointed about this. We didn’t pay for a rocky beach or to walk to a real beach and rent chairs and not to be disincluded of an all inclusive resort for drinks either. 4/ The food was somewhat satisfied even though it was repetitive. On Wednesday night they ran out of fried chicken for dinner. They was a lot of unhappy guests. I have to say we did make the most of it, but will not be returning to Barbados because of the fact that when they say all inclusive, it really isn’t. Needless-to-say, I wouldn’t recommend anyone to visit this resort for their false advertising. Even on their website they don’t show all the beach only a portion so that you think it is a real beach. They don’t state on their website about the conditions of their all inclusive packages either. By-the-way, the majority of Barbados is like that in regards to the all inclusive packages and $200us hotel credit card holding fees. Our room was nice but not much of a pool view. Sorry for such a negative review of this resort, but ultimately how do they expect people to go back with such false advertising on their packages. Read less

We especially liked the pool bar, and that it backed straight onto a lovely secluded beach. A special thank you to Ramon the guest relation rep, who made us feel welcome and even showed us around Oistins fish fry on a Friday night. We taught Ramon the card game 'S**t head' so anyone who wants to challenge him, bring your A game! Barbados is beautiful and it was a trip to remember! Thanks again Read less

Everyone was friendly and went out of their way to help. The beach has eroded I understand in the past couple of years - meant you could lounge on the sand but the sea was rocky off the hotel. There are other beaches nearby for swimming and there were surfers just up the coast. We met several people who had returned to the hotel multiple times which I thought was interesting. We were there in the off season so booking the restaurants was not an issue. Read less

Was told by a member of staff the hotel has to save money? Beach is non accessible from hotel. Only part that is is about 8 foot wide, 4 foot drop onto sand and rocks where waves come in. It states 2 pools? Only one very small pool. It states lazy river? Just water, not flowing in any direction..all inclusive drinks? No you pay for premium drinks. Rooms are very tired, and dated back to 1980s. We’ve been all over the Caribbean, we’ve had butlers in St Lucia and Antigua where they bend over backwards for you. So much choice of food, drinks etc two weeks isn’t long enough to sample it all. Waiter service on our tables etc. moet champagne etc. we thought this resort would be similar in quality especially being in Barbados, we are very very disappointed. Found plastic barcode in my food!!!! Would not return, and definitely not suitable for people with mobility issues, young children or a wedding venue. Read less

All the team are amazing and a very special mention of those we spent some time with, Mr Messiah GM, Ramone, Beverley, Gabi, Roger, the lovely lady on the grill, the wonderful chap who we knew from ABV (Rachels!) but everyone was lovely and very smart and friendly, service was excellent. The location of the hotel is great for us as we can walk along the beaches and boardwalk and swim in the nearby public (beautiful) beaches. The food is great, fresh and well prepared. Room was lovely with a. Balcony, all rooms we have stayed in over the years have been great. The hotel grounds and building are beautiful, lots of history. Boutique in nature. Will be coming back in May with the family and would not stay anywhere else. We love Barbados, it’s people and the Savannah family. Thank you all so much and keep well. Linda and Jacqui x Read less
