The hotel

Little VIP touches make a stay at the boutique Sea Breeze Beach House feel all the more special. As you sink into a sun lounger, the pool and beach attendants serve cold drinks, mist you with a refreshing spritzer, and offer delicious sorbet tasters. Its 3-acre gardens and 1,000 ft stretch of silky white sands create a sense of space, while Bajan accents like palm trees, beachside dining, and rum-infused treats create a sense of island living. Families and couples can enjoy their own zones, with a space just for grownups featuring a pool, Jacuzzis and oversized loungers — a brilliant break from the buzz around the family and lap pools. Even the beach caters for all, with a lively water sports stretch and a more peaceful patch. The luxury suites are wonderfully spacious, have beautiful ocean views and extra amenities, and with two, three and four bedroom options available, you can have an All-Inclusive experience with a 'villa' feel. Whether à la carte or one of the themed buffet evenings you'll love the food, and we recommend that you don't miss the opportunity to get the sand between your toes at the 'Shoes Optional' Beach BBQ held on Sundays.

We experienced a great disappointment after reading reviews that suggested this was a great place to go. Checking in took two hours to get our keys, the beach water looked like a ton of tar was dumped in it. The water was filled with seaweed which prevented anyone from enjoying the beach or the water. Five days later the day before we were to leave we received a note informing us that we would be taken to another beach area where the water is clear. There were very little activities, no music playing during the day or afternoon, nothing to do at this place at all. We had to venture out for 5 days, spending money we didn't anticipate on doing. Most of the staff were friendly, but some walked around with attitudes. The food was good and that's about it. Read less

The staff was really nice from the beginning to the end. Everyone was very welcome always there when you need your help. Until it was time to go to bed. I had to report a cricket in my room, but the young lady at the front counter was so rude. Basically, she didn’t care that I could not sleep because of that cricket.

There is a severe seaweed problem resembling an oil slick. Conversations with other guests indicate this is a year-round issue, which is not made clear in promotional materials and contradicts brochure images of clear turquoise seas. Secondly, although water sports are advertised, the red flag was out for the entire stay. Online research shows this is a common problem, resulting in a huge disappointment for our boys. Visitors need a reality check on whether a clear turquoise ocean with water sports is their priority; if so, you must go to the west coast instead. Despite the significant drawbacks regarding the beach and ocean conditions, the overall resort experience was highly satisfactory and we would visit again. Read less

The staff is accommodating, but like everywhere in Barbados, it is not going to be quick or overly friendly. The iced coffee at Mahogany is AMAZING. This resort is perfect for families of all ages and multi-generational trips. We LOVED the iced lolly cart that bikes around twice a day, our meal at Cerulean was incredible, and the beach is so nice. The kids loved the water trampoline! I would definitely stay here again.
