The hotel

Little VIP touches make a stay at the boutique Sea Breeze Beach House feel all the more special. As you sink into a sun lounger, the pool and beach attendants serve cold drinks, mist you with a refreshing spritzer, and offer delicious sorbet tasters. Its 3-acre gardens and 1,000 ft stretch of silky white sands create a sense of space, while Bajan accents like palm trees, beachside dining, and rum-infused treats create a sense of island living. Families and couples can enjoy their own zones, with a space just for grownups featuring a pool, Jacuzzis and oversized loungers — a brilliant break from the buzz around the family and lap pools. Even the beach caters for all, with a lively water sports stretch and a more peaceful patch. The luxury suites are wonderfully spacious, have beautiful ocean views and extra amenities, and with two, three and four bedroom options available, you can have an All-Inclusive experience with a 'villa' feel. Whether à la carte or one of the themed buffet evenings you'll love the food, and we recommend that you don't miss the opportunity to get the sand between your toes at the 'Shoes Optional' Beach BBQ held on Sundays.

My wife and I's first trip to Barbados with the Sea Breeze Beach House suggested to us as the place to stay and what a recommendation (5⭐) All booked via Virgin with flights included (this service was 1st class as well). The Hotel location is perfect, not far from the airport and nicely positioned on the South coast, so you get best of both Atlantic (small waves) and the Caribbean (clear and warm). Walking distance to St Lawrence gap one way and Oistins Fish Market the other (a must on a Friday night). Having three pools - one dedicated to adults - is great, but there are so many sun beds on the beach, that this is the pace to relax for the day. Next the room - we upgraded as a treat to one of the ocean view suites - very spacious, clean throughout, very comfy bed with turn down service offered every evening, replenished mini bar and amazing view from the sun-kissed balcony. An important one for me, the food - all the options from Mahogany Lounge for breakfast and buffets to the Cerulean al la carte were amazing. The choice and variety for the 10 days we were there, meant something new every night and throw in the awesome beach BBQ every Saturday and there is literally something for everyone. Lunch was either buffet style in the Mahogany or a trip to either the Tipsy Bar for Tacos or the Flying Fish for salads and burgers - again, could not fault any of it. Liquid refreshments from local beer to great choice of wine, to the cocktails (rum sour is a must !) only added to the experience ! But the best bit of the holiday was the people - the hotel staff could not do enough to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. I apologise now, if I miss anyone as all were a credit to the hotel. Leteisha, Francine, Sharon and the team - outstanding food and drinks service throughout the holiday. How they transformed the beach every Sat night and back again is a logistics miracle Marcia (1) - breakfast eggs and a smile to kick start the day. Damian and Chesterfield - the steps they must do on drinks orders to and from the beach! Captain Josh - the water sports guys were amazing (recommend the Hobie boat trip around the bay) Fabian and team - book your island adventures via the extremely friendly and helpful concierge team. We would recommend an island tour by taxi (Tyron and Nikita were amazing), the turtle swim (1.5 hour is enough) and the horses swimming in Carlisle Bay. And finally Marcia (2), who doesn't just whip up an amazing rum sour and a cold beer, but greets you every time you see her with the smile, the warmth and the 'I'm pleased to see you' that so typifies the Bajan people. Would totally recommend and will definitely be back. Read less

It was a very nice stay overall, but there a a few areas that need work. The pools are too cold, especially in the morning. I heard other gusts complain, so I know it's not just me. I feel they should heat the pools if they want to consider their property a true "luxury resort." The water pressure for the shower was too low and the water really never reaches that warm comfort temperature. Dinner starts at 6:30 each evening. For those of us with reflux disease, this is not desirable or healthy, and an earlier opening would be most welcome, preferably 5 o'clock. The evening "entertainment" kept me up at night, so it might be wise to bring ear plugs. No resort is perfect but these are the particular shortcomings that affected me personally at this hotel. Want to pay tribute to the water sports guys including (but not limited to) Captain Jack, Prince, Josh, and others whose names I unfortunately forgot. As a solo traveler, they made me feel welcome and among friends. Read less
