The hotel

Little VIP touches make a stay at the boutique Sea Breeze Beach House feel all the more special. As you sink into a sun lounger, the pool and beach attendants serve cold drinks, mist you with a refreshing spritzer, and offer delicious sorbet tasters. Its 3-acre gardens and 1,000 ft stretch of silky white sands create a sense of space, while Bajan accents like palm trees, beachside dining, and rum-infused treats create a sense of island living. Families and couples can enjoy their own zones, with a space just for grownups featuring a pool, Jacuzzis and oversized loungers — a brilliant break from the buzz around the family and lap pools. Even the beach caters for all, with a lively water sports stretch and a more peaceful patch. The luxury suites are wonderfully spacious, have beautiful ocean views and extra amenities, and with two, three and four bedroom options available, you can have an All-Inclusive experience with a 'villa' feel. Whether à la carte or one of the themed buffet evenings you'll love the food, and we recommend that you don't miss the opportunity to get the sand between your toes at the 'Shoes Optional' Beach BBQ held on Sundays.

We just had an extended family trip here and left very disappointed. The resort is dated which is fine if the service had made up for it. It did not. Our room was updated and very nice but we never had hot water the entire stay. I will say the staff keeping the rooms clean was wonderful! The rest of the staff was a hit or miss. Half the time they were rude and annoyed by you and the other half they were friendly. The same person would be all but ugly towards us one day and the next day friendly, it was like being in the twilight zone. They were always kind to our children though so that was nice. We were a large group and got the sense multiple times that we were not welcomed there (some of us even felt like it was because we were Americans). The seaweed was unfortunate but we understood it was a natural occurrence. When asked about the shuttle service we heard about we were initially told we’d have to pay for a taxi. The next morning we found out there was indeed a shuttle service running but we were never notified. The second time the shuttle bus was full and we waited an hour for another bus before we gave up. We did make it to another beach that was wonderful and the people were very friendly. Sit down dinners lasted 2-2 1/2 hrs which again would have been fine if the service was better. The food was good at these restaurants and the BBQ buffet was excellent. However, the room where the buffet is located was extremely warm to the point I worried about spoilage of some items. We’d try to order drinks or food and sometimes be told we had to sit down first and others wouldn’t even acknowledge us but would make the drinks with no words exchanged. A few ladies made our children fresh lemonade all week and were very friendly to them. We’d clear our own drinks and dishes from the pool and beach but when asked where to put them we got eye rolls. The towels were always out unless you snagged some early in the morning. The highlight of the trip was Bingo and the sailboat they offered. Both were wonderful. Everything else was very frustrating and not the relaxing vacation we expected. We found mixed reviews while we were there of people saying they loved it and it was their 3rd time visiting and others disappointed like us. Again, very odd that people had experiences at such opposite ends of the spectrum. Guess we weren’t favored and it showed, bottom line, we won’t be returning. Read less

We really enjoyed our stay at Sea Breeze Beach House on the beautiful island of Barbados. The location is perfect, set on a beautiful beach with white sand and turquoise water. The beach is great for those who enjoy taking long walks. We stayed in a Oceanfront suite in the newer Mahogany building. Our suite was perfectly appointed with all the required amenities. The view of the ocean from our balcony was truly breathtaking. We loved all of the dining options. For breakfast, there is a lovely buffet with the talented Marcia cooking fresh eggs, made to order. At lunch, we alternated between the buffet at Mahogany and Flying Fish, the casual restaurant located next to the pool. Our favourite dinner option was Cerulean with the wonderful manager Arden. He was truly a delight and was so kind and hospitable. Jerome is another fantastic asset to the hotel. He is a bartender who made some delicious tropical drinks for our 9-year-old son. He was always friendly and engaging. The staff really do make you feel like family. In short, we cannot wait to return for another visit to this fantastic place. We always make such wonderful memories with our family. Read less

We came back last week from 11 nights in the Sea Breeze. The hotel itself is very dated. We upgraded our room and still doors hanging off the cupboards and a very poor shower which spat out luke warm water, I asked twice for maintenance but no-one came so I gave up asking. All in all the room was nice but some small tweaks would have made it even better. It's also a very small hotel with limited offerings for an all-inclusive, limited activities and evening entertainment. Staff in the restaurants were amazing and could not do enough for you. Bars were poor with watered down drinks and badly made cocktails. It also rained which we expected (still weather was great) but no-where to go when it did apart from a small bar. The driftwood was poor by the pool, ceiling falling down, coffee machine constantly out of coffee and very poor snacks. Beach was full of seaweed, not their fault but did spoilt it, although we went to Carlisle Bay which was amazing. Battered sunbeds on the beach which had seen better days. All in all not any kind of luxury a 3 plus star hotel, I am very surprised Virgin holidays offer this as a package. Great holiday as I with my family but I will not be visiting the sea breeze again, not worth the money. Read less
