The hotel

Little VIP touches make a stay at the boutique Sea Breeze Beach House feel all the more special. As you sink into a sun lounger, the pool and beach attendants serve cold drinks, mist you with a refreshing spritzer, and offer delicious sorbet tasters. Its 3-acre gardens and 1,000 ft stretch of silky white sands create a sense of space, while Bajan accents like palm trees, beachside dining, and rum-infused treats create a sense of island living. Families and couples can enjoy their own zones, with a space just for grownups featuring a pool, Jacuzzis and oversized loungers — a brilliant break from the buzz around the family and lap pools. Even the beach caters for all, with a lively water sports stretch and a more peaceful patch. The luxury suites are wonderfully spacious, have beautiful ocean views and extra amenities, and with two, three and four bedroom options available, you can have an All-Inclusive experience with a 'villa' feel. Whether à la carte or one of the themed buffet evenings you'll love the food, and we recommend that you don't miss the opportunity to get the sand between your toes at the 'Shoes Optional' Beach BBQ held on Sundays.

This was our second visit to Sea Breeze Beach and unfortunately it did not match our expectations after our great first holiday. To sum it up it was hit and miss. You could have nice food one day and terrible food the next. The service could be great one day and then the next day really poor. There was no consistency and it depended very much who was on duty. We soon learned what kind of day we would have in the restaurants and bars when we saw who was serving us. To be honest some staff favoured the Americans and Canadians serving them ahead of us. Presumably this was to try to get a tip, which I assume they successfully achieved from our transatlantic cousins because as we all know this is normal practice for them to give in restaurants and bars. One evening a family of five who came in after us ate their starter and main before our main arrived. We chatted to other British guests who experienced the same thing. Booking the one of the three restaurants for each evening dinner was a bind and not always easy. Halfway through the holiday they changed the venue for booking from the breakfast area to one of the other restaurants which was not always manned. The staff at breakfast could be aggressive and unfriendly. Sometimes I assumed they were tired as we had seem them late the previous evening. Some staff told us they had worked double shifts because they were short staffed. This didn't make for happy welcoming staff at times. The menus in the restaurants were monotonous and boring and if you ate in the same restaurant for couple of nights it was the same menu. They changed a couple of dishes occasionally. We don't eat fish so that restricted our choices tremendously. As someone that does not drink alcohol and also a diabetic my drink choices were even more restricted. The only diet mixer was coke zero which I am not keen to drink every day. No reduced calorie tonic or sodas were available. So it was water or soda and lime. There was zero alcohol rum, whisky, tequila and gin but nothing low calorie to go with them. I did ask for zero rum and diet coke and was ridiculed by the bar man for my choice. I do understand I was visiting an island famous for its rum but there was no need for the comments and disapproving face even if it was a vague attempt to be funny. There were positives. The room was lovely and the housekeeping staff did a great job every day. The location of the hotel is on a beautiful beach with good opportunities for water sports if you want to use them. Breakfast was the best meal every day with lots of choice. The adult only pool area was nice to relax and chat to other guests. Some staff were consistently welcoming and smiley and worked so hard. Overall we did have a nice holiday because we made the best of it but we will not return as we felt it was not worth the money we spent. Read less

When we were set to depart on March 7 the Barbadoes air traffic controllers decided to go on strike, shutting down the airspace, all flights cancelled and mass chaos at the airport. We were able to grab a taxi and went back to the Sea Breeze not having anywhere else to go. I was hoping to be treated fairly as I just spent over $10000 CND for 2 people for the previous 7 days. They ended up charging us $685 for that extra night on a room that was empty because the people coming in were delayed because of the same issue. This room was paid for by them and us for the same night, the hotel gouged us for double payment and also overcharged us for the cab back at $104bdd. This is not how you should treat guests. The staff at Seabreeze are EXCELLENT, so many to mention - they were personable, friendly and did their jobs very well. From Kim on reception as soon as we arrived, Deniko, who went above and beyond and organised a fishing trip for us, Fabian for looking after us so well, all the reception staff. The staff in all of the eating places (which were excellent) Allison T, O Brian, 'Naughty' Jerome, Good Jerome! Ciera, Sandra, Grace, Sharon, Cuthsbert, Robert, Big Steve :), Brittany, Malika, Marcia - the queen of the egg station! Liza, Chesterfield, all the chefs. The Mixology class was excellent, Naughty Jerome and Joel, AKA Eddie! Magnell worked so hard on the housekeeping, was friendly and very helpful each day we saw her. Trevor on the gate :) Lana - the Taco queen - Beach staff - Capt Jack Sparrow Capt Josh, Capt Prince, Capt Joel all looked after us so well when they took us out to find the turtles! Made the experiences very special, and told us a lot about their Bajan culture too - always very helpful with equipment, towels, sun loungers - maybe some large beach umbrellas for the beds with no shades on the beach would be a great addition. Carolyn at the kids club was excellent, so very accommodating, great activities to encourage the little ones to take time out of the heat and the pool! Peggy.... fabulous, the pool classes, the entertainment, the Bajan evening, such a warm genuine person Read less
