My family and I have been returning to Spice Island Beach Resort ever since our very first visit. From the moment we arrived, we were completely smitten by the genuine warmth and welcoming culture that makes you feel like part of the family. From the groundskeepers to management—and especially the wonderful owner, Janelle Hopkin—the entire team consistently anticipates our every need with care and grace. I have never been able to relax anywhere the way I do at Spice, and my husband feels exactly the same. Our son absolutely adores the Nutmeg Pod, and we are incredibly grateful for the resort’s exceptional childcare, which allows us to truly unwind with total peace of mind. After five or six visits, we still can’t wait to return—especially with another trip planned for July. I truly can’t say enough wonderful things about Spice Island Beach Resort; it has become our home away from home. A special thank you to Fabian, Katrina, Lyndonna, Dexter, Dwight, and everyone else who makes our stays so memorable (you know who you are!). See you soon, Spice—thank you for the beautiful memories you continue to create. Read less

I had an amazing 5-star experience! I would definitely recommend staying here if you’re planning a trip to Grenada. We were greeted with welcome cocktails at check-in, and Spice Island made sure our airport transportation was smooth and easy. The food was fantastic! Each meal was a multi-course affair, and we could easily customize it to our tastes and allergies. The afternoon tea selection and presentation could be improved, but it was still quite good. I’m still raving about the fresh pesto pasta! The garden tour was a great way to see the property and learn about the plants and ingredients used in the culinary cuisine. We did get sunburned after a long day at the beach, but the staff were so helpful. We asked them for fresh-cut aloe vera during dinner, which was waiting in our room after dinner. The mini bar in our room was fully stocked, and the cleaning and turn-down service was quick and efficient. The private Plunge pool was ideal for our stay. The spa treatments with massages were wonderful. The beach was calm, clean, and free from people trying to sell things, which we really appreciated. I wish I remember the gentleman’s name who was apart of the garden tour but also some of the guest exercise experiences. He was originally from Grenada. He was awesome, kind and made our stay great. This was one of the most relaxing breaks we had in 2025. The positives: - Excellent beach (which was surprisingly quiet as it is public) - Spacious and well equipped room; we went for a room with a plunge pool - with hindsight, we should have gone for a room by the beach as the rooms with plunge pools are set back from the beach with no views (very private and very shaded)) - generous mini bar - lovely staff; almost everyone was super friendly, It makes a real difference - I enjoyed the hobi cat sailing (other than the day when the person supervising water sports was working somewhere else….) - Great spa treatments (though the spa itself needs a little TLC) Areas for improvement: - Lack of information on activities; on our penultimate day, a member of staff came up to us at the pool who organised activities, said he hadn’t seen us before (even though we had been at the hotel for 5 days) and suggested various activities - unfortunately it was too late to do most of them (we had kept ourselves active any way with a hire car) - many staff recognise you, others dont asking your name repeatedly in the same day (and the hotel was far from full) - evening bar snacks are very weak and are of a standard you would expect of a mid-range pub in the UK, far short of a 5 star hotel - The biggest, the food. Cooked breakfasts are good, but the buffet is very limited. The lunch menu we quite enjoyed but the dinner consistently underwhelmed; given the price, it should have been so much better. We decided to eat out for 2 nights The last time we visited Grenada we stayed at the Calabash and almost did again. We chose Spice Island Beach Resort because of the beach, which is much better, and our agent saying both had good rooms and excellent food. However, the food at the Calabash is in a totally different league, as is the service. I would return to the Calabash without hesitation (and it is better value). I would only return to Spice Island if the food is much improved; it’s a shame, it has so much potential. Read less

We stayed for a week in this luxurious resort. We loved everything about it from arrival to departure. Every member of staff including the Guest Experience Manager were superb in their daily interactions with guests. Our room was on the beachfront which had a great view. The beach was clean and well maintained. Although the beach was accessible to the public it was not busy or crowded and there was a security guard employed by the hotel 24/7. There were 2 restaurants which provided a lovely selection of local and specialist dishes such as lion fish and barracuda. The Oliver restaurant provided fine dining. I was also able to request dishes with that combined ingredients from different menus. We met the talented chef. There were different activities on offer. We enjoyed the sunset cruise. Athough it was cloudy, the experience was fabulous due to Kevin’s attention to detail and superb service. He even wished us farewell on our departure. He is a credit to the company. I would like to thank Cleon, Guest Activities Assistant for his liveliness and manner in motivating guests. This included an organised walk to Quarantine Point - a local park with great views over the sea especially at sunset. We found the whole place very relaxing and would highly recommend this resort.
