This all-inclusive, beachfront gem is perfectly placed on the island’s sought-after south coast, just minutes from Bridgetown, pairing postcard-worthy ocean views with one of the best locations in Barbados. Rooms are bright and breezy with garden, pool or sea views, and there’s space for everyone, from romantic escapes to laid-back family holidays. Days drift by between turquoise swims, two sparkling pools and indulgent moments at the spa. Dining is where Sugar Bay really shines. Four restaurants are included, but it’s the award-winning Asian fusion spot, Umi, that steals the show. Boho-chic style, unbeatable views, a prime south coast setting and a loyal following of returning guests - Sugar Bay Barbados is the kind of place you’ll want to come back to, too.

The hotel itself is a little slice of paradise. The beach is absolutely beautiful, the food was incredible with so much choice and quality, and every part of the experience felt relaxed, luxurious, and welcoming.
A very special shout out to Joan — she is an absolute gem and perfectly represents everything Sugar Bay and Barbados are all about: warmth, friendliness, and genuine care. She made such an impact on our stay and we will never forget her kindness.
Sugar Bay is more than just a hotel, it’s an experience filled with wonderful people, stunning surroundings, and unforgettable memories. We are already looking forward to coming back. Thank you for such a special stay!

Why didn't I report it ? Because nowhere in the room was there a clue to the number to dial for reception. I kept hoping they would just shut up.
We are not young so I guess this was a bit scary. They were very loud and unpredictability yelling in and out of the bedroom and balcony in the wee small hours so I was maybe a bit reluctant to confront them directly. I just hoping there was a security person who would eventually hear this on his rounds. No such luck .
We were going to Oistin this evening but to be fair I feel absolutely knackered and this will be a trip we won't do .
Reported it at breakfast to reception. Can't say there was a lot of concern or recompense.
Also an increasing number of catamaran, minibus trip guys touting for business on this 'private' beach.
Security issues seem to have lessened my holiday experience generally. Are there insufficient or ineffective staff ?

The only drawback was that my room was situated in a separate building from my 70+ year-old mother’s room, despite the trip being booked as a Mother’s Day celebration.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel.
