Our stay at Sun Siyam Iru Veli in mid-March was truly unforgettable, and what made it so exceptional was the outstanding level of hospitality and genuine care shown by every member of staff. From the moment we arrived, we were met with warmth, kindness, and an eagerness to ensure our experience was nothing short of perfect. The team consistently went above and beyond, always friendly, attentive, and sincerely invested in making our stay special.
A very special mention must go to Rilwan, our guest ambassador, who was simply exceptional. He anticipated our needs effortlessly and handled every request, big or small, with professionalism and genuine enthusiasm. On the rare occasion where things didn’t go entirely to plan, Rilwan’s response was remarkable; he went above and beyond to ensure we felt valued and well looked after. One of the most memorable experiences he created for us was arranging a private fishing trip on a larger boat, where he personally joined us with his own crew. This turned into a unique and authentic introduction to traditional Maldivian fishing, and it became one of the highlights of our trip. The care and effort from everyone involved made it incredibly special. We also thoroughly enjoyed spending time with Jaijai, Rilwan’s assistant, whose warm, friendly, and cheerful nature made every interaction enjoyable. On our private fishing trip, Jaijai caught the biggest fish!!! We particularly loved that after the fishing experiences, Rilwan arranged for our catch to be prepared by the chef for our dinner afterwards. It added a wonderful personal touch to the entire experience.
Rilwan, along with the team, also organised a surprise birthday dinner for us that was nothing short of magical. Every detail was thoughtfully executed—from the beautifully decorated table and romantic setting, to the live music, a photographer, and an exquisite seafood dinner prepared especially for us by Chef Damith Dias. It was an evening we will never forget.
Chef Damith Dias deserves particular recognition for elevating our culinary experience to an exceptional level during our holiday. His talent, creativity, and passion for food were evident in every dish we had that he cooked. The lobster Thermidor he prepared for our special surprise birthday event on the beach was outstanding, easily one of the finest we’ve ever had, perfectly cooked, rich in flavour, and beautifully presented. Beyond that, Chef Damith Dias hosted a wonderful cooking demonstration of traditional Maldivian dishes, which was both engaging and insightful. His passion, friendliness, and dedication to ensuring guests enjoyed every bite were evident in everything he did for us. We felt that his genuine enthusiasm for ensuring we enjoyed all of our meals and his friendly and easy going personality made him a true asset to the resort.
The resort manager was highly attentive and professional too, always visible and committed to ensuring guests were comfortable and well looked after at all times. We really appreciated his commitment and dedication to ensuring that we had the most special time and felt very well taken care for at all times. .
The Ocean Spa at the resort was another highlight of our visit. Each treatment was consistently excellent, delivered by a team of staff led by Dr Arun and Dr Geeta who were all both highly skilled and genuinely welcoming, creating a calming and restorative experience throughout. Every visit resulted to feeling really pampered.
To summarise, what truly sets Sun Siyam Iru Veli apart is its people. The dedication, warmth, and genuine care shown by the entire team created an atmosphere that felt both luxurious and deeply personal. We left feeling incredibly well looked after and with lots of special memories that we will treasure for a long time. Thank you!
