Our second stay at Sun Siyam Iru Veli was nothing short of exceptional, and it truly reaffirmed why we couldn’t wait to return. From the moment we arrived in Malé, everything was seamless. We were warmly welcomed by the resort team and escorted to the private seaplane lounge, where we enjoyed delicious snacks, relaxing head and neck massages, and stunning views—setting the tone perfectly for the holiday ahead. Upon arrival at the island, we received an incredibly warm greeting and were introduced to our Ambassador, Naz, who was outstanding throughout our 8-night stay. Naz went above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect—whether arranging excursions or accommodating our personal requests, nothing was ever too much trouble. Having that level of attentive, personalised service made a real difference to our experience. The dining was another highlight. The restaurant and buffet teams were genuinely friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they do. The food selection was excellent—beautifully balancing local Maldivian flavours with dishes we’d typically enjoy back home in the UK, while also thoughtfully catering to any dietary needs. The bars were equally impressive, offering an extensive drinks selection that catered to every taste. Once again, the staff stood out for their attentiveness and warm, engaging service. The island itself is simply stunning—intimate yet breathtakingly beautiful. One of our favourite aspects was the incredible snorkelling from our water bungalow. The house reef is vibrant and full of life; we saw everything from sharks and turtles to rays and an array of colourful fish. Our water bungalow was perfect—spacious, well-equipped, and maintained to the highest standard. The housekeeping team did a fantastic job, keeping everything immaculate and thoughtfully restocking the minibar daily with a great selection of drinks. The creative bed art was a lovely added touch that we always looked forward to. Overall, this was exactly what we were looking for: a peaceful, luxurious escape with outstanding food, breathtaking surroundings, and truly exceptional service from a team that clearly cares about creating memorable experiences. Our stay at Sun Siyam Iru Veli in mid-March was truly unforgettable, and what made it so exceptional was the outstanding level of hospitality and genuine care shown by every member of staff. From the moment we arrived, we were met with warmth, kindness, and an eagerness to ensure our experience was nothing short of perfect. The team consistently went above and beyond, always friendly, attentive, and sincerely invested in making our stay special. A very special mention must go to Rilwan, our guest ambassador, who was simply exceptional. He anticipated our needs effortlessly and handled every request, big or small, with professionalism and genuine enthusiasm. On the rare occasion where things didn’t go entirely to plan, Rilwan’s response was remarkable; he went above and beyond to ensure we felt valued and well looked after. One of the most memorable experiences he created for us was arranging a private fishing trip on a larger boat, where he personally joined us with his own crew. This turned into a unique and authentic introduction to traditional Maldivian fishing, and it became one of the highlights of our trip. The care and effort from everyone involved made it incredibly special. We also thoroughly enjoyed spending time with Jaijai, Rilwan’s assistant, whose warm, friendly, and cheerful nature made every interaction enjoyable. On our private fishing trip, Jaijai caught the biggest fish!!! We particularly loved that after the fishing experiences, Rilwan arranged for our catch to be prepared by the chef for our dinner afterwards. It added a wonderful personal touch to the entire experience. Rilwan, along with the team, also organised a surprise birthday dinner for us that was nothing short of magical. Every detail was thoughtfully executed—from the beautifully decorated table and romantic setting, to the live music, a photographer, and an exquisite seafood dinner prepared especially for us by Chef Damith Dias. It was an evening we will never forget. Chef Damith Dias deserves particular recognition for elevating our culinary experience to an exceptional level during our holiday. His talent, creativity, and passion for food were evident in every dish we had that he cooked. The lobster Thermidor he prepared for our special surprise birthday event on the beach was outstanding, easily one of the finest we’ve ever had, perfectly cooked, rich in flavour, and beautifully presented. Beyond that, Chef Damith Dias hosted a wonderful cooking demonstration of traditional Maldivian dishes, which was both engaging and insightful. His passion, friendliness, and dedication to ensuring guests enjoyed every bite were evident in everything he did for us. We felt that his genuine enthusiasm for ensuring we enjoyed all of our meals and his friendly and easy going personality made him a true asset to the resort. The resort manager was highly attentive and professional too, always visible and committed to ensuring guests were comfortable and well looked after at all times. We really appreciated his commitment and dedication to ensuring that we had the most special time and felt very well taken care for at all times. . The Ocean Spa at the resort was another highlight of our visit. Each treatment was consistently excellent, delivered by a team of staff led by Dr Arun and Dr Geeta who were all both highly skilled and genuinely welcoming, creating a calming and restorative experience throughout. Every visit resulted to feeling really pampered. To summarise, what truly sets Sun Siyam Iru Veli apart is its people. Amazing atmosphere, the staff is very kind and sinceerfull especially the waiter Pradid that showed up smiling every day and our ambassador adam that took care of us on the island. Thank you! An insider tip: Pick a side that fits you. The sunrise side is full with life, corals and marine animals like baby sharks, rayas, and turtles. It has a very calm sea but its really hot on this side. The sunset side has beautifull views and a cooler tenprature fewling, but in my opinion is more open and does not seem as private as the sunrise side. The sunset side has beautifull sunsets and a stunning sea. I really enjoyed both sides, really recommend this. Read less

We ( 2adults, no kids) stayed at Sun Siyam Iru Veli in March 2026 for 17 nights. It was a wonderful and super perfect vacation with the outstanding and amazing staff of Iru Veli. After many vacations in the Maledives I have to mention that our ambassador Shakeeb is the best we ever had. He tried to make everything possible and surprised us every day. In the beginning he was our ambassador but at the end he was our friend. Shakeeb we are very thankful to meet you…you are an exceptional human being with a great heart and dedicated to everything what you are doing. We stayed in the beach pool villa #243 (sunrise side, 3 nights) and #208 (sunset side). Both villas have the same good large size and both villas are in good condition. We loved the outside open air bath room. Manoj has done our houskeeping. Room was super clean and every evening we got a fancy towel sculture on our bed. Manoj was a sunshine and kept our villa perfect clean and kept our fridge fully filled wth nice drinks. Beach on the sunset side is like a dream (powder white sand), large and perfect for swimming (but not for snorkeling). Sunrise side is not our favorite side because of the black wave breakers in the water. Snorkeling is better on the sunrise side. Compared to other Maledivian islands we found this snorkeling area at Iru veli not really good and small. Hopefully the reef is recovering. We went several times diving. All dive spots where really good with super nice walls, reefs and caves. Big thank to Miranda and her team, she took care of our dives and was giving us good tips what we can do. Our dive guide Shamoo was taking care of us during our dives and explained us a lot of the dives/reef/animals. We felt everytime very safe and had big fun with Shamoo and the team of the dive boat. Due to different reasons the main restaurant Aqua Orange was closed for dinner for the whole week (only opened one day per week for Maledivian Roots Dinner). Management was really helpful and made it possible that we got every evening an wonderful and super tasty dinner at restaurant Roma. Every evening we where surprised by the chief cook Damith and Pathmashri with different curries and other maledivian/sri lankan dishes. These super delightful dinners with amazing food made our vacation extraordinary. At Roma restaurant Dhilsan took care about us every evening. This was a 6 star service done with a big heart. Dhilsan is highly dedicated to his job and it was our pleasure to talk with him every day. Dhilsan is really an outstanding person whom you maybe meet only once in your lifetime. Every day we enjoyed the sunset at the adult bar Freshwater. Sheilish created super tasty cocktails for us and took care of us. We also joined the Teppanyaki dinner with the funny cook Ray. Ray is also a really good singer. Lobster barbecue dinner at the beach with live music was also a nice event what we can recommend. Overall we had a perfect vacation at Iru veli and the the team of Iru Veli made it outstanding and special for us. We definitely recommend everyone to go there. Read less
