This holiday we just come back from Tui Blue Romance Island was our second time there. We absolutely love this place so much its like a second home the staff are our Maldivian Family. Shifaz is absolutely a beautiful soul. He is so hard working always smiling. Areen such a lovely person again hard working. The staff at Bite beach resturaunt are amazing, always happy to see us and go the extra mile. Romance bar and The bar for entertainment absolutely amazing Staff. First thing first.. the weather was good for 3 days and not so good for 2 days. Not so good means small rain showers and all sea/water excursions cancelled. But we managed to rearrange our schedule and had a blast. We saw dolphins, sharks, crabs, lots of fishes and a stingray. Didn't get a view of mantha. Totally recommend the resort for it's employees and facilities. Food could be better. We could really bored of it by the 2nd day as the buffet for lunch and dinner is so similar. Read less

Finding somewhere to go on a “familymoon” at first was easier said than done however our travel agent recommended Sun Siyam Olhuveli resort based on what we were looking for from the holiday and boy, we were not disappointed at all!! The resort is simply beautiful and what an amazing place to stay. We chose one of the Grand Beach Villas located on Main Island to stay in as it allowed our young daughter and ourselves to wake up in the morning and walk straight out onto one of the stunning beaches. The villa itself was well equipped, highly clean and was also well-maintained spotlessly during our stay by Aami from the housekeeping team (who we would also add is very talented as she left creative “Welcome” lettering on our bed crafted from leaves!). We have to say a big thank you to Raail, our Island Host for the duration we were there as he was always on hand to make our stay as easy as possible and around if needed for any problems. We take our hat off to him as well for the number of times he tried to get us out on one of the Sunset Cruises or Dolphin Cruises however the weather at the time simply wasn’t in his (or our) favour! The islands themselves (three grouped together – Main Island, Dream Island and Romance Island) were all so beautiful: lush green tropical forests surrounded by golden sandy beaches and crystal blue waters. We saw lots of different wildlife and sealife such as parrots, herons, house geckos, sharks, stingrays and fish that our daughter loved seeing up close! The weather on the whole while we were there was extremely warm and sunny however on the few days it rained it was torrential! We made the best of what we could do in those circumstances however fortunately there is also an ample supply of umbrellas on hand for that eventuality! The various restaurants and bars on the islands are also stunning, the selection of food and beverages available catered for a wide variety of tastes. We went “Dine Around All Inclusive” and have to say that this was the best choice we made, if you can go for this option then would highly recommend! It made life easier for getting food and drink readily available as and when (which was handy when it was extremely warm and we developed a thirst!). Each time we dined around the island (be it for breakfast/lunch/dinner) it was a highly enjoyable experience every time. The staff in each of the restaurants really go out of their way to look after you and it seems effortless (however they really work soooo hard)!! We loved the Sunset Restaurant for breakfast and the staff in there, notably Sanjay, made each morning so enjoyable for the buffet breakfast or lunch. We really have to make special mention of Sanjay as he arranged for a special “goodbye” leaving lunch the day before we left the island and decorated our table beautifully with white linen and spelled out “Happy Birthday” and “See You Soon” using Hundreds & Thousands! Simple but what a beautiful touch! Our daughter’s particular favourite was going for dinner at Island Pizza and we have to say we really appreciated the folks that work in there (notably Rohitha, Anas and Kashmi). They are an amazing group of people who really went out of their way to look after us and as well as that took it to the next level helping us celebrate our daughter’s 8th birthday! She’s never had such a fuss made over her like they did which will no doubt stay with her as a lifetime experience). We simply cannot thank them enough for their kindness and hospitality! There is also a fantastic kids club on the island that runs every day. Our daughter was quite shy about going in at first but the staff were all very good with her and made her feel so welcome. They have sooo many activities for the kids that it certainly keeps them occupied (I even got sent packing once when I went to pick my daughter up as she was having too much fun!) and the staff also held a birthday party with the other kids for my daughter who had her birthday during our stay. We also decided that as this was such a wonderful place to come to that we would also get some professional photographs done by the talented team at the Photo Studio on the island. The photographer that did our shoot, Shaan, is quite frankly a fantastic professional photographer. He was able to work with us all to get the ideal photographs that we wanted and also captured the beautiful surroundings at the same time. We were delighted with all the photographs that he took and because we couldn’t choose specific photos we ended up purchasing them all! Our daughter also took part in a “Mermaid” Course where she learned how to be a mermaid! She was taken through the steps by Migey, who worked fantastically with her and by the end of it she was a qualified mermaid! A fantastic and memorable experience for her to say the least!!! To sum up though, for our “familymoon” this year we were all simply blown away by the whole experience of Sun Siyam Olhuveli from start to finish. Fantastic resort from the moment of arrival until the last step off the island. Warmly greeted and looked after by Raail, the rooms are great and easily accessible. Plenty of choice at the buffet and with the A La Carte restaurants. The staff at the restaurants were fab, especially with the kids. AK, Febin, MD Rasa and all their colleagues, were amazing and attentive. Jashim, who looked after our room, did a great job, clean, full of the food and drinks we wanted, and always a lovely message or a towel arrangement when we got in in the evenings. The dive staff were awesome too, taking us to some very good dive sites and keeping everyone safe whilst seeing all the good stuff. Can’t really fault the place. Read less
