We had a wonderful day at this hotel! The place was very beautiful, clean, and peaceful. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. A special thank you to Yaseen for helping us and making sure we felt comfortable throughout our stay. We really appreciate his kindness and great service. ❤️ We truly enjoyed our day package, and everything was lovely. Our stay at Tamassa was simply wonderful! All the staff were incredibly friendly, and we always had the feeling that everyone genuinely wanted to make sure all our wishes were fulfilled. I would especially like to mention the waiters at the Playa Restaurant, who always made sure we had drinks while relaxing on the beach. A special thank you goes to Tirvesh, who made us feel very well taken care of. We were even offered a freshly prepared pizza outside of the regular snack hours, which was a lovely touch. Our room was always very clean, and we felt comfortable throughout our entire stay. The food was delicious, varied and offered plenty of choice, especially at breakfast. I would also like to mention Sid, who regularly checked that everything was perfect and that we had everything we needed. The boat activities were fantastic, and we enjoyed an amazing snorkelling trip as well as a wonderful boat ride. The beach is absolutely breathtaking, and the entire resort is beautifully maintained. We also used the spa area every day. It was never too crowded, which made it incredibly relaxing and enjoyable. The massages were excellent, and the DJ and music created a great atmosphere. We also really appreciated that our drink preferences were remembered by the waiters throughout our entire holiday. Whenever we requested a small adjustment to our drinks, our wishes were taken into account, and the staff remembered them even days later. This level of personal attention made us feel truly special. I honestly cannot think of a single negative thing to say about our stay. Everything was wonderful, from the beautiful surroundings to the outstanding service and the incredibly friendly staff. We had an absolutely wonderful stay at TAMASSA. We were upgraded to a stunning ocean-view room on a higher floor (2nd), and it was incredible. The hotel’s beach is beautiful, and the entire property feels modern, fresh, and exceptionally well maintained. Beyond the excellent facilities, however, it was the team that truly created the atmosphere: everyone was remarkably warm, cheerful, and kind, and their outstanding hospitality elevated our stay to another level. As vegan guests, we received truly premium treatment in the restaurant. At every meal, the chefs—and especially Edinho—were waiting for us and personally walked us through the different dishes, carefully explaining what we could eat. They also prepared special dishes just for us throughout our stay, including vegan pancakes and muffins! We felt genuinely cared for, and nothing ever seemed like too much trouble. Most importantly, the food was excellent. There was a wonderful selection of Indian and local Mauritian cuisine alongside Western options. Everything was fresh, full of flavour, and impressively varied. Unlike the food at some other resorts we visited, it never felt industrial or mass-produced. There was a little confusion during check-in regarding what was and wasn’t included in our full-board package, but this was swiftly resolved by the team who came on duty that evening, so it didn’t detract too much from our stay. The rooms are perhaps a little dated and could benefit from some modernisation. One thing that also surprised us was that there were no sun loungers or beach beds directly on the beach itself, with loungers positioned just before the beach instead. This was a little disappointing given the beautiful beachfront location. However, what really made our stay special was the staff, particularly the chefs. The food was out of this world, and the culinary team went above and beyond to accommodate our dietary requirements. They prepared bespoke meals for us and took such wonderful care to ensure our little one was catered for too. A massive thank you and shout-out to Chef Kolo, Chef Suraj, Chef Kunal and Chef Nawsheen for their exceptional hospitality. They really went the extra mile. We’d also like to give a special shout-out to Melie from the front-of-house team, who was always so friendly and such a good sport with our daughter. Her warmth and kindness made us feel especially welcome as a family. Finally, the Santosh Spa deserves a mention of its own. Both my wife and I had some of the best massages we’ve ever experienced, and a huge thank you to Preety for making it such a wonderful experience. Overall, we had a wonderful family stay. Tamassa resort. Here is a true to form review of my stay at the Tamassa hotel on the island of Mauritius. I stayed there from 25th September to 9th October 2026. Upon arrival, I was greeted by some wonderful people instructing me just to sit down and relax, they will sort all the minor details out like checking in, and room allocation etc. I was given a refreshment, (which I believe is common practice), and eventually given the key to my room. It took a while, but I was driven by buggy to my accommodation, but my “superior room” was somewhat disappointing. A minimal view with little to see out of my balcony but palm trees. Immediately, I refused this room and thankfully, this was resolved quickly. I was given a room of equal quality in another part of the hotel. A quick solution to a problem I did not want to have for any length of time, as I was tired and needed of to start my holiday. Well done to all the staff that helped get this resolved quickly there and then. Facilities: - My first port of call was of course the restaurant. A large open and airy space with a huge counter. I have to say that I would be hard pushed to find better quality food than the food that Edinho and his team had prepared. Throughout the whole of my two weeks stay, the chefs were really keen to satisfy all those with a sensitive palate, from very basic cuisine to a variety of international and of course local foods. I would strongly suggest that if there is something that you feel is missing, or you want to eat, ask the chef to make it for you. He loved the challenge. The desserts were out of this world! Sabrina, I hope I’ve spelt her name correctly, and Kislev, who both went out of their way to ensure I was happy with my table, the drinks were served in a timely manner and this concern for my satisfaction really felt genuine. My thanks to the whole catering team, but I really wanted to mention Edinho, Sabrina and Kislev. Entertainments and activities team: - Here is where I really feel the resort scores top marks. Sebastien, Cynael, Harsha and the others (have not got their names so I again apologise) encouraged me to come and enjoy the facilities that were on offer. This went from the treadmills, and weights machines etc in the gym, which were all clean and well maintained, to the more enjoyable activities, like cycling, Ping pong, tennis, and the less strenuous goings-on like cards, table footy. They always made time to do these, and nothing was too much for them. I was travelling alone during my vacation, and it is sometimes a little difficult to enjoy these activities. The team really were engaging; so much so that I actually got on the bike for a morning ride to a beauty spot. The team showed excitement and energy. Well done, Sebastien, Cynael, Harsha and the rest of the team. I’m sorry but there were so many people I want to thank but sadly do not have their names. A quick mention; The beach party get together was excellent. The dancing and music were enjoyed by everybody. Sid was a fantastic host. A shame it didn’t last longer into the evening. Management: - I had little reason to interact with the management team. There was not much to be concerned about. We did however meet up quite by accident and they were keen to get my views on a number of activities going on at the resort and how I saw these as needing improvement. I shared a couple of observations and was pleasantly surprised at how quickly they were implemented. It was refreshing to see this in action, as I did not get the usual “well, we cannot do this overnight due to staff shortages”, or “this is not the direction we want to go” comments. On the contrary, I noticed the improvements almost immediately. The management team were very good in resolving these minor concerns and even returned to me to ask if this was alleviated my worries. I actually felt like a guest who had a voice. I wanted to mention Krishen, Sid, Preshna. These individuals were really proactive in their dealings with me. These are the individuals from the management that really stand out, but there were many others that I have unfortunately not got their names. In short, here are the shout outs: Edinho and Sabrena – God’s perfect example of the perfect lady and gentleman. Nothing was ever too much for them. Kislev – always a service with a smile. Sebastien Cynael, Harsha and of course the rest of the Entertainments team. Made me feel really welcome and nothing was too much for my benefit. Especially these 3. Bless you all. Sid and Preshna. Their patience and understanding knew no bounds and their energy was addictive. A real credit to the resort.
