We wanted to visit Antigua bur particularly wanted an escape to rest and recover from work. The escape at Nonsuch was perfect for this. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, staff were attentive, helpful and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the pool, beach, food and drinks but especially the privacy of the dip pool and outside bath. The team helped us arrange the trip we wanted to do, with transfers to and from the rendezvous point. We had 10 days of almost perfect sunshine with only a few minutes of ‘liquid sunshine’ as the locals would say. We didn’t hire car but it would have been easy to do so, as the hotel is a little outside or off the beaten track but this is one of the reasons we chose it! There is a shuttle to the beach with a bar and snacks available. You can enjoy bubbles on the dock or sunset cruise, swimming with turtles at Green island. Read less

Stayed in a bayview room in August 2026, here is my honest review. Firstly, the rooms are lovely, very clean, soft beds, great air con, lovely design, the plunge pool is the star attraction, always kept clean and fantastic view of the bay, only 2 issues with the room, firstly the shower is poor, just a dribble, no power to it and secondly the wifi is hit and miss, off and on. The room was cleaned every other day, which was perfectly fine. The location is in the name, escape! And yes, its in the middle of nowhere, and if you stay here I would say a car hire is a must, 30 minutes drive anything. We hired a car from RL rentals and was very happy with them. The hotel was full, but also very quiet and peaceful. The food and drink, firstly you have a minibar stocked at the start of your stay, but the only bar is at the top of the hill. This did mean we didnt use tge bar as much as we might, because it was always an effort to go back upto the bar each time . The cocktails however were of a good standard and i loved the pina coloda! . The food is a lacarte , so no buffett , they have a rolling 7 day menu, which means if you stay more than 1 week you get the same menu twice ! For lunch and dinner the menu is posted online at midnight for next day , normally choice of 3 starters, 3 mains and 2 dessert, somedays there was no vegetarian ootion at all, but when asked they did prepare something for us. The food is tasty and of good quality, but the portion sizes way too small ! We never did but did see some guests ordering 2 main courses each ! At lunch it was dissapointing the burger was sold out on 3 occasions i asked for it, if you only have 3 options for your guests, at least make sure you have 3 available at all times ! Breakfast was hit and miss, you choose 4 items from cooked list, and something from continental , hash browns were like bullets, but eggs cooked lovely, 1 day they ran out of sausages . Service is also hit and miss at breakfast , ask for an extra coffee or toast , they say of course and then nothing happens! That was almost every morning ! Personally service would be massively improved if they gave you a pot of coffee or tea on your table, rather than 4 waiters dashing around trying to keep cups filled up. As any hotel, its not perfect , but we paid £1500 , or usd2000 for a week for 2 people, we found this to be good value for the time of year . Overall its a lovely hotel , friendly staff and peacefull if remote location, but we would stay again. Read less
