Choosing a Maldives resort can feel overwhelming with so many options, but after endless research, I am incredibly glad we chose Villa Nautica. Especially the beach pool villa. The views were astounding to wake up to and having the privacy of your own pool was so freeing.
The island itself is everything you dream of when picturing the Maldives - stunning, pristine sandy beaches and crystal-clear blue waters. From the second we arrived until the moment we left, my new wife and I were made to feel less like standard guests and more like absolute VIPs.
The standout feature of this resort is, without a doubt, the staff. The level of service here is second to none. The moment you sit down anywhere on the island, someone is there to check if you need anything, never in a pushy or intrusive way, but with a genuine desire to ensure you are comfortable, cool, hydrated and enjoying yourself. Little touches like the complimentary poolside juices speak volumes; it’s clear the resort prioritizes true hospitality and guest welfare over just turning a profit.
Our island host, Sayuru, was a total superstar from day one to the very end. He took care of everything and anything we could possibly need. On our first day, he provided a thorough tour and laid out all our options, everything we needed to know and added my wife and I to a private WhatsApp group with him providing us with his daily updates keeping us perfectly informed of the island's activities. He went above and beyond to organize a stunning date night for us at the à la carte Italian restaurant, complete with a live violinist, and seamlessly handled booking and rescheduling a phenomenal spa day. He even personally helped me find out the times and logistics for Friday prayer. Nothing was ever too much trouble for him. Any time he seen us he’d come say hi and ensure we were looked after and weren’t wanting for anything. Seeing his face at the jetty on our final day to wave us off with the rest of the team was the perfect end to the trip.
The dining experience was equally flawless. The main buffet offered an incredible variety, with the menu changing completely for every single meal, every single day, meaning we always had ample choice and never grew bored. The maître d’s greeted us with radiant smiles for every breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Their attention to detail is mind-blowing, despite the number of guests on the island, they remembered our names and room number. A massive thank you to chefs Firoz and Sudasu, who always took the time to chat with genuine warmth and happiness, and to our excellent waiters, Zahid and Bisu.
Lastly, a special mention to our housekeeper, Buddah. After an embarrassing orange juice spill on the bed, I was incredibly apologetic, but he didn't blink an eye. He completely reassured us, handled it instantly, and made us feel entirely at ease. To top it off, his beautiful "Happy Honeymoon" bed decorations made our stays extra special.
Villa Nautica didn't just host our honeymoon; they made it unforgettable. If you are debating where to book, look no further. We cannot recommend them highly enough. And after thinking if we ever got the chance to visit the Maldives again, we’d try other resorts, we’re much more likely to return to Villa Nautica.
