The hotel

Not just a hotel, Zilwa Attitude is more of an experience, embracing the life of the islanders. With a relaxed village feel, it is packed with authentic Mauritian experiences so you’ll truly feel like one of the natives after a week or two here. In a beautiful location, overlooking endless stretches of sandy beach and with stunning views of no less than five islands, it is a slice of heaven. Just a few minutes away by boat, or a short paddle, is Grand Zil where you can while away a few hours on a lounger and perhaps tuck in to a barbecue lunch — or enjoy a rejuvenating massage on the smaller Ti Zil. Rooms are inspired from traditional seaside bungalows and are contemporary in design but rustic too with rough white-washed walls and brushed cement floors. Embracing bright colours, there's a choice of room types, as well as family rooms, apartments and suites by the sea. Book a treatment at the world-class spa and take some time to chill on a day bed in the relaxation garden whilst listening to the twitter of birdsong. As you kick back, the little ones will be kept happy at the kids' club, with a fun garden, a games room and a large boat to explore and escape the sun ! There are seven restaurants at Zilwa, offering cuisines from European to Creole, Indian and Asian, and the All Inclusive dine-around experience means you can discover wonderful varied meals each day of your stay.

The grounds of the hotel was a tropical paradise with flowering shrubs and palms and kept immaculate. The accommodation was in keeping with the environment with thatched roofs and patio with furniture. In all my years of travel I have never stayed in such a friendly hotel. A big thank you to the entertainment team and the water sports centre. Read less

What a stay! The entire trip was a blast and this hotel was one of the best we ever stayed and yes, we will come back! From the very first moment we arrived, until the moment we had to leave (after 14 days), we enjoyed every minute. The hotel is fully open, no matter if you sitting at the main bar or in one of the four restaurants. The architecture is warm and friendly, full of nature material. The service, the food, the drinks were great and even as vegetarians, there was always plenty of different and delicious foods available. The people working at the hotel, no matter if it was the reception, a waitress or one of the awesome animateurs were always super friendly and welcoming. At this point, please let me send a special thank you to Arvin, Olanike, Kush, Niraj and Ayush from the main bar, who made every evening for us a special one. What else to say? The rooms are clean, there are plenty of attractions like snorkeling, beach volleyball, or archery. The whole hotel area has enough sun lounger, different pools, a fantastic beach and additionally a small island you can visit for some tasty barbecue or just to relax. The guests were almost from all around the world and so a nice mixture. Everybody was friendly and we had some nice chats and met nice persons. Oh and yes, as we were there as a family, kids are welcome and no problem for anyone. We already planning our second stay there in 2027 and hope we will meet again many of the people who working there. One last note: Big John tours are worth every penny 😊 Read less

Best holiday we ever had, the staff made sure of it! We been to different countries for holiday before but Zilwa Attitude in Mauritius topped it all. All the staff members were so nice all over the resort (for example Arvind at the bar, Rosy in the spa, Manoj from housekeeping, etc). Pictures are true to what view will wait for you there. Also, if you need taxi service or someone local to help you plan your trips then go to the front of the hotel Mr Avinash Bundhoo ( +230 5775 0975) would help you. We went to Casela one day and another day we were hiking the Le Morne & went for a lagoon flight after and Avinash arranged everthing, took us there, waited for us until we finished and stopped if we asked him for ATM or pharmacy and took us back to the hotel entrance. The food was great, so many options and they have multiple á la carte restaurants on site. Definitely worth going for the all inclusive package. We choose February because it was my birthday but we were worried about the weather as the forecast would show rain for all 6 days we were there however only 2 days rained badly on the evenings which didn’t really affect us as the staff was kind enough to provide us with umbrellas so we could go for dinner. One thing to consider is that the sun is a little bit stronger compare to Europe as my partner managed to burn badly on his body eventhough he was in the shade so definitely consider taking high UV protective sunscream and protective clothing as he never had a problem before but he developed this sensitivity to the sun when we were there. Luckily there is a phamacy walking distance from the hotel. Read less

Great experience in Zilwa! Was slightly worried about the food being gluten free, but Chef Arvin kept all my worries away and even made special arrangements that were so much appreciated and even seemed better than the normal gluten ones especially the cakes and desserts! Highly recommended!
