The hotel

Not just a hotel, Zilwa Attitude is more of an experience, embracing the life of the islanders. With a relaxed village feel, it is packed with authentic Mauritian experiences so you’ll truly feel like one of the natives after a week or two here. In a beautiful location, overlooking endless stretches of sandy beach and with stunning views of no less than five islands, it is a slice of heaven. Just a few minutes away by boat, or a short paddle, is Grand Zil where you can while away a few hours on a lounger and perhaps tuck in to a barbecue lunch — or enjoy a rejuvenating massage on the smaller Ti Zil. Rooms are inspired from traditional seaside bungalows and are contemporary in design but rustic too with rough white-washed walls and brushed cement floors. Embracing bright colours, there's a choice of room types, as well as family rooms, apartments and suites by the sea. Book a treatment at the world-class spa and take some time to chill on a day bed in the relaxation garden whilst listening to the twitter of birdsong. As you kick back, the little ones will be kept happy at the kids' club, with a fun garden, a games room and a large boat to explore and escape the sun ! There are seven restaurants at Zilwa, offering cuisines from European to Creole, Indian and Asian, and the All Inclusive dine-around experience means you can discover wonderful varied meals each day of your stay.

My family and I have recently returned from an incredible stay at Zilwa Attitude, where we celebrated my Dad's 70th birthday. It was our first visit to Mauritius and, thanks to this wonderful hotel, I very much doubt it will be our last. From the moment we arrived, what really made the difference was the exceptional staff. Every member of the team seemed genuinely happy to be there and took real pride in making guests feel welcome. They are a huge asset to the hotel. In particular, Nitish went above and beyond throughout our stay. He was always on hand to check we had everything we needed and made us feel incredibly well looked after. As my husband and I were leaving a few days before my parents, it meant so much when he promised to keep an eye on them and ensure they continued to have a wonderful holiday. It was this kind of genuine warmth and care that made our stay feel so special. Our rooms were spotless, comfortable and very well maintained. Housekeeping did a fantastic job every day and even decorated the room for my Dad's birthday, a thoughtful touch that was greatly appreciated. The food was simply sensational - easily the best we have ever experienced at an all-inclusive resort. The lunch buffet at the beach was a particular highlight, with freshly grilled fish and meat, delicious salads and plenty of fresh produce. The afternoon burger and pizza offering at the main restaurant was also excellent. Dinner was something we looked forward to every evening. The main buffet offered a huge variety of high-quality dishes and was organised in a way that seemed to greatly reduce food waste, something we've often been disappointed to see at other all-inclusive resorts. The à la carte restaurants were all excellent, but special mentions go to Manao (Thai), Lor Disab (Beach Restaurant) and especially Tadka (Indian). We chose Tadka as the venue for my Dad's 70th birthday dinner and the team made the evening truly unforgettable. They decorated our table with fresh flowers, brought out additional dishes for us to sample and surprised us with a beautiful birthday cake complete with candles. It was a wonderful celebration and one we will all remember for years to come. The drinks offering was equally impressive, with a fantastic range of cocktails, mocktails, wines and other beverages. We especially loved the local Takamaka lychee wine, which became a firm holiday favourite. The facilities throughout the resort were excellent. We particularly loved the adults-only pool by the upper bar, which quickly became our favourite spot for watching the sunset with a drink while enjoying the spectacular views. The grounds are beautifully maintained, with stunning tropical planting and immaculate gardens. One of the highlights of the trip for my parents was the Til Zil massage experience on the little island. They had a private spot with two massage beds and two masseuses, surrounded only by the sounds of the wind and the sea. They described it as one of the most relaxing experiences they have ever had and a wonderfully unique part of their holiday. The beach itself is absolutely stunning, with beautiful views across the lagoon towards Coin de Mire. The sea is calm, warm and shallow, making it perfect for bathing and relaxing. We also thoroughly enjoyed the BBQ lunch on Grand Zil, taking the little raft across and spending time relaxing in the hammocks suspended over the water. Another huge plus was the inclusion of kayaks and other watersports within the all-inclusive package. The hotel's location is perfect for getting out on the water and exploring the lagoon. Despite the wide range of activities available, the atmosphere remained refreshingly relaxed. The entertainment team struck exactly the right balance - enthusiastic and encouraging without ever being intrusive. We enjoyed watching and occasionally joining activities such as aquagym and beach volleyball, which added to the fun atmosphere around the resort. We also loved the hotel's friendly approach towards the resident dogs and cats. It was lovely being able to stop for a cuddle or a stroll with them, and we were touched by the signs explaining that the hotel could help guests with the adoption process should they fall in love with one of the animals. We certainly did - although sadly bringing one home wasn't possible! The location was ideal for exploring the north of Mauritius, with easy access to places such as Grand Baie, Cap Malheureux, Port Louis and the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden. In all honesty, though, we didn't venture much further because we wanted to spend as much time as possible enjoying the resort itself. Finally, we really appreciated the hotel's commitment to sustainability. The boutique-style store where guests can replenish their minibar with drinks and snacks was a brilliant idea, as were the water refill stations located throughout the resort. The commitment to eliminating single-use plastics deserves particular praise. Overall, this was an amazing and unforgettable holiday. Zilwa Attitude exceeded our expectations in every way and provided the perfect setting to celebrate such a special family milestone. Our only disappointment was that we didn't stay longer. We absolutely loved it and can't wait to return. Read less

What a perfect stay for our holiday. From the moment we arrived until we departed every need was catered for. Lovely beaches, great pools and beautiful views are all part of this great resort. The food is out of this world and they cater very well for those with food allergens and preferences. Our room was comfy, clean and welcoming.

We have just returned home after spending two wonderful weeks at Zilwa Attitude (18 June – 2 July), and we can honestly say that this has been one of our best holiday experiences. The resort is beautiful, with lovely beaches, several pools, excellent restaurants and a relaxed atmosphere. Everything was spotless throughout our stay. However, what truly made this holiday so special was not the buildings or the surroundings – it was the people. The staff created an atmosphere that made us feel genuinely welcome every single day. Food was a very important part of this holiday for us, and Zilwa exceeded all our expectations. Our favourite restaurant was Lor Disab. The quality of the food was exceptional, and the setting right by the beach made every dinner feel special. Chef Arvin is clearly passionate about quality ingredients, attention to detail and perfectly prepared food. We both love food and wine and are probably more demanding than the average guests, yet one of the very best steaks we have ever eaten was served here. We also enjoyed both the Lobster Lovers and Meat Lovers dinners on the beach, and they were simply outstanding. Those evenings became some of the highlights of our holiday. We also had wonderful experiences at Manao and Tadka. The Thai food at Manao was excellent, and Chef Woody and Adarsh made every visit enjoyable. Adarsh's surprisingly extensive knowledge of Norwegian football also led to some great conversations! Tadka impressed us with authentic flavours and consistently delicious food. What impressed us most throughout the resort was the consistently outstanding service. Sharmeen, Ashley, Sairaj, Kumar, Rajiv, Shetty and Arvind all made us feel genuinely cared for with their professionalism, friendliness and attention to detail. Around the pool and beach, Danvir and Sunraj always greeted us with a smile and looked after guests with great care. A special thank you goes to Nitish. Although he had only recently joined the hotel, he displayed remarkable professionalism and initiative. During our stay there was one starter at Kot Nou we had hoped to try, but unfortunately the restaurant had not received the fish required for the dish. Without us asking, Nitish coordinated with the restaurant manager and made sure we were able to taste it before leaving Mauritius. That level of care says everything about his commitment to guest satisfaction. We also enjoyed the spa, where the treatments were of a very high standard and the staff were both welcoming and highly skilled. The activities added another dimension to our stay. Miguel's cycling tour through the local village was a memorable experience, and lunch at Gran Zil was excellent. We also joined the hotel's catamaran excursion, which we can highly recommend. The crew created such a fun and relaxed atmosphere that, by the end of the trip, almost everyone on board was dancing together. The barbecue lunch was excellent as well. Finally, we would like to thank the entire Guest Experience and Service Team, who were always happy to help with restaurant reservations, recommendations and any questions we had during our stay. There are many beautiful resorts around the world, but what makes guests return is the people. Zilwa Attitude has assembled an exceptional team of people who genuinely care about creating memorable experiences for their guests. Thank you to everyone who made our holiday so special. We sincerely hope to return one day. Read less

My husband Anthony, our daughter Mia, and I (Claire) have just returned from a magical 10-night stay at Zilwa Attitude at the end of June, and we cannot recommend this incredible hotel enough! We visited slightly out of season, and while the staff kindly suggested returning in November for the super hot weather, we found the late-twenties temperature absolutely perfect for us. The occasional light rainfall was even a welcomed, refreshing break. We are already planning our return for 2027 or 2028 and simply cannot wait to go back! Beautiful, Spacious Rooms & Impeccable ServiceOur room was stunning, spacious, and filled with local charm, including beautiful cultural riddles painted on the walls. The shower was amazing, and the patio—complete with a relaxing swing and loungers—overlooked the most luscious gardens. The service here is next-level. We were welcomed on arrival with delicious handmade macarons. A massive, heartfelt thank you goes to our incredible housekeeper, Manoj. We frequently returned to a spotlessly clean room, often surprised with gorgeous fresh flowers and creative towel art.A Private Island ParadiseOne of the absolute highlights of Zilwa Attitude is that it has its own private island. Attached to it is a second, even tinier island. At one point, I was the only person standing on it—a truly surreal, peaceful moment! The waters surrounding it are crystal clear, with dozens of tiny fish swimming right around your feet. Outstanding Activities & Boat House Crew Mattchou and Wayne at the boat house are the sweetest, friendliest people you will ever meet! They always had the biggest smiles, and nothing was ever too much trouble. They offered free private trips to the hotel's island, shared fascinating stories about Mauritian culture, and happily sorted us out with kayaks, pedalos, paddleboards, and sailboarding. They truly made my daughter Mia's trip unforgettable. Anthony and I also booked the sunrise boat trip, which was heavenly and an absolute highlight of our holiday. An Incredible Team That Feels Like FamilyThe bar staff kept our glasses full with the most amazing cocktails. A special mention must go to Arvind and Suraj, who made us feel exactly like family. They always remembered our names, wore massive smiles, and treated Mia like an absolute princess. In fact, the entire team went so far above and beyond. We want to give a massive thank you to Husna, Catherine, Mellissa, Hemant, Nitish, Dursun, Paul, Danny, Sashi, Tatyana, Shetty, Shubham, Mitish, Zalfah, and Mohun, alongside the reception staff, porters, and reservations team. There are many more whose names we have forgotten, but whose incredible service we will absolutely never forget.Incredible Dining & EntertainmentWith so many restaurants on-site, you can always find something tasty to eat. We absolutely loved the Indian, Thai, and central pizza/sandwich restaurants. However, the absolute best of the best was the private lobster dinner we booked—OMG, it was sensational! While the main buffet offered a massive multitude of dishes, a few things weren't quite to my personal taste, but my husband Anthony thoroughly enjoyed every single morsel! The hotel also keeps you entertained with a fantastic variety of activities throughout the day, which we found super easy to track using the schedules on the hotel app.Thank you to everyone at Zilwa Attitude for giving the three of us memories that will last a lifetime. See you all again in 2027/2028! Read less
