The hotel

Not just a hotel, Zilwa Attitude is more of an experience, embracing the life of the islanders. With a relaxed village feel, it is packed with authentic Mauritian experiences so you’ll truly feel like one of the natives after a week or two here. In a beautiful location, overlooking endless stretches of sandy beach and with stunning views of no less than five islands, it is a slice of heaven. Just a few minutes away by boat, or a short paddle, is Grand Zil where you can while away a few hours on a lounger and perhaps tuck in to a barbecue lunch — or enjoy a rejuvenating massage on the smaller Ti Zil. Rooms are inspired from traditional seaside bungalows and are contemporary in design but rustic too with rough white-washed walls and brushed cement floors. Embracing bright colours, there's a choice of room types, as well as family rooms, apartments and suites by the sea. Book a treatment at the world-class spa and take some time to chill on a day bed in the relaxation garden whilst listening to the twitter of birdsong. As you kick back, the little ones will be kept happy at the kids' club, with a fun garden, a games room and a large boat to explore and escape the sun ! There are seven restaurants at Zilwa, offering cuisines from European to Creole, Indian and Asian, and the All Inclusive dine-around experience means you can discover wonderful varied meals each day of your stay.

5* review for the exceptional dining experience here. Thank you to Nitish for his high quality service, making us feel valued as guests and going above and beyond to make our stay special. Chef Arvin's food was amazing and exceeded expectations. Cocktails were also very good. The rooms were comfortable and clean, there were quiet areas throughout the resort for relaxing. Note that the beach is man-made. We were under the impression from the website that in the "dine around" experience we could eat at other hotels within the chain (as many resorts allow). However, on asking with guest experience, we were informed this could only be at the buffet and had to be pre-approved. We were disappointed with how management dealt with our query, making us feel like we were asking for something unreasonable; despite the dine around experience being advertised on the website as a "choice of restaurant at our hotels". We can see the wording on the website has since been changed. Read less

We have just returned from an amazing 15 night stay at this hotel. Great facilities for couples or family with daily activities and great evening entertainment every night. Our room was very nice and kept exceptionally clean during our stay. The restaurants offer a different dining experience and the standard of food was very high. The buffet restaurant was also excellent with a different theme every night so it doesn't get repetitive. All the staff are amazing but the following went that extra mile to make our stay even more special. Rishi at the Indian restaurant, Arvind who oversaw the main bar, Danvir and Suraj who brought us endless drinks/cocktails on the beach, such great service. Manav and Ajay who served in the main bar and Alyssa who was the funniest lovely lady who always took time out to come and talk to us. Gregory and all the team at Guest Services who also went that extra mile and made sure our stay was a good one. Read less

The Zilwa is a great hotel this was our first holiday in Mauritius and the staff make you feel so welcome they are all very friendly. The only issue we was was the first impression of our room, as there is a lot of cold grey concrete but this does not spoil anything. The food in the speciality restaurants is wonderful and we would highly recommend. For things to try around the hotel the kayak and pedalos are a must but keep an eye on when they are available as they are not in use all day. A hidden gem is the archery. A big shout out must be given to Dursun at the boat bar this bar is very quiet at night and we used it for our last couple of drinks at night Dursun is very easy to talk too and makes very good cocktails. The other staff member that went above and beyond was Nitish nothing is too much of an issue for him and he is always checking that everything is going well. Overall this is a great hotel and we would have no issue with returning. Read less

Beautiful hotel with a strong ecological ethos. Clean with lots of separate pools to accommodate adults and children of all ages. Shallow sea shelving out a long way and very shallow at low tide. Rooms are lovely and spacious. Grounds immaculate.
