The hotel

Not just a hotel, Zilwa Attitude is more of an experience, embracing the life of the islanders. With a relaxed village feel, it is packed with authentic Mauritian experiences so you’ll truly feel like one of the natives after a week or two here. In a beautiful location, overlooking endless stretches of sandy beach and with stunning views of no less than five islands, it is a slice of heaven. Just a few minutes away by boat, or a short paddle, is Grand Zil where you can while away a few hours on a lounger and perhaps tuck in to a barbecue lunch — or enjoy a rejuvenating massage on the smaller Ti Zil. Rooms are inspired from traditional seaside bungalows and are contemporary in design but rustic too with rough white-washed walls and brushed cement floors. Embracing bright colours, there's a choice of room types, as well as family rooms, apartments and suites by the sea. Book a treatment at the world-class spa and take some time to chill on a day bed in the relaxation garden whilst listening to the twitter of birdsong. As you kick back, the little ones will be kept happy at the kids' club, with a fun garden, a games room and a large boat to explore and escape the sun ! There are seven restaurants at Zilwa, offering cuisines from European to Creole, Indian and Asian, and the All Inclusive dine-around experience means you can discover wonderful varied meals each day of your stay.

The hotel's design was a cool mix of old and new, making it feel comfy but still fancy. Our room was huge, spotless, and had killer ocean views – waking up was a total treat. The staff were awesome, always making sure we were happy. The all-inclusive deal was great, with tons of tasty food from around the world and local dishes too. The buffet was especially good. The pools, beach, and gardens were perfect for chilling out or having fun. We did snorkeling, kayaking, and some tours, which were awesome for seeing the island. Honestly, Zilwa Attitude was even better than we hoped, with a perfect mix of relaxation, adventure, and real Mauritian culture. We left feeling great and already planning our next trip. We had a very good stay at Zilwa Attitude — the staff were fantastic and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Our room was kept spotless and even decorated with cute towel animals! The dinners were excellent, and most food was great (though breakfast could use more variety). Be sure to book dinners and activities in advance to avoid disappointment. However, a few things to note: The boathouse service was poor, and water activities were often canceled with little notice. Our kids (9 & 12) were disappointed by the lack of entertainment — they were often told they were too young and the teens’ club lacked structure. Bad weather left little to do, with no heated pools or indoor alternatives. We were overcharged for spa services and dinner guests, so check your bill carefully. Overall, it’s a lovely resort with amazing staff, but families should be aware of limited kids’ options and unexpected extra charges. Read less

The Zilwa made me and my wife feel welcome from the second we got there. We felt thoroughly looked after the whole time. It was a particularly lovely treat for our honeymoon to have our room decorated & a token for a beach meal courtesy of the hotel. The food is fantastic and there is so much choice you never feel bored. The thai, Manoi, is a particular highlight. The evening entertainment changes every night and the bar staff there will look after you. We were very well looked after by Harsh & Danny throughout our stay. Danny was superb with cocktail surprises for the wife and Harsh always made sure I had a beer ready, and then a coffee the morning after. The pools are beautiful and so clean. I only wish they were bigger & there were more spaces available as you had to get there quite early to get a good space. The private island is an amazing experience and the grill there is superb, it really makes it feel different to any other hotel. The spa was fantastic with amazing treatments. My only downside to the whole trip were the beaches. Though the are nice and well kept, unfortunately there are vendors who bother you pretty much everyday. Disappointingly the hotel have no control over this. But I felt like I couldn't fully relax on the beach knowing they would bother you quite heavily sometimes. Overall this is an amazing hotel at a dream location. Well worth the long journey from England. Read less

ripAdvisor or Travel Blogs A Memorable Honeymoon at Zilwa Attitude – Hospitality at Its Finest We stayed at Zilwa Attitude during the third week of June and had a truly unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, the resort staff welcomed us with warmth and professionalism. As first-time visitors to Mauritius, we were touched by how attentive and helpful everyone was throughout our stay. A standout highlight was our dining experience at the resort’s Mauritian restaurants, Karay and Kot Nou. The care and hospitality shown by Chef Canniah and Kunal, the restaurant manager, were exceptional. They went out of their way to walk us through the menu, understand our preferences, and ensure every dish suited our tastes perfectly. Their genuine warmth made us feel truly valued. One special evening happened to be my birthday, and the team surprised us with a beautifully arranged celebration—including a custom cake, heartfelt gestures, and a romantic Mauritian-style dinner. It was a night we’ll always remember. From thoughtful details to personalized experiences, Zilwa Attitude made our honeymoon feel meaningful and magical. We highly recommend this resort to anyone seeking authentic Mauritian hospitality and unforgettable memories. Read less
