We had a lovely two days staying here for a short weekend away from Abu Dhabi… It was our first time stay here.. although, driving into the Anantara felt familiar.. this is due to staying at similar hotels in Bali Hyatt back in 1995 and in Sri Lanka at the Shangri La in Hambantota.. Same Architecture design.. Very Indonesian/Malaysian type of feeling and style.. The setting and sunsets cascading the ocean in the evenings were breathtaking with calm sweeping swells as you’ll expect in a lagoon of gulf…… not the rugged beaches of western beaches around the world.. The rooms were lovely.. but the en suite was exceptional, large, modern and comfortable.. the minimalist classy interior design was well thought out.. The main pool was typical of a large hotel, as it catered for masses and for families. Set between the main dining areas and to the beach made it versatile and easy assess with not being too crowded… The beach was what you’ll expect at the Palm in Dubai.. but the view to the other side of the water of the mansion for the Oman Sheikh was impressive also… I did find the FB section and some of the restaurants quite pricey, and the variety was not quite versatile.. The Chinese restaurant MeKong was very pricey and the portions and plating wasn’t quite up to 5* standard and the wine list was out of this world..A bottle at AED1800 at the top end and lowest was around AED280.. I think this needs to be reevaluated because it ain’t no Hakkason Restaurant at the Emirates Palace… Still, it was one night’s dinner.. but I wouldn’t remember it for its food but rather its price and what you get for it..especially at the time we visited during the April conflict 2026.. I’ll let you figure that one out? The reception staff were highly professional and very helpful.. this section was very good… Over all it was a great stay.. for a staycation.. but not a spectacular stay like something like Flames Towers in Baku or the Manor House In Cairo, but was great! 👍 Special thanks to management and staff for there presence and hospitality… Regards Pio Anitelea Read less

We really enjoyed our one night stay at the Anantara. We had a Lagoon Access Room which was perfect. We had a fabulous meal in Mekong (shout out to our wonderful waiter Soe May) and I enjoyed an amazing massage in the spa (Samhita was excellent). Overall the staff were really friendly and helpful and we would definitely book again. One element that felt off given the overall experience was charging us for a bucket of ice to the room. Why! Otherwise no complaints. Read less
