Key West, Florida Keys

Star rating

The hotel

Opened on New Year's Eve 1920, Casa Marina Resort is Key West’s original grand resort. Boasting a dramatic 'water walk' that leads to the resort's two largest swimming pools and the largest private beach in Key West, Casa Marina is a tranquil oasis close enough to the action of Duval Street. Offered on-site is a booking centre for world-class diving, fishing and boating, and it also has one of the largest fitness facilities in Key West, allowing you to work off those holiday indulgences! Guest rooms here are contemporary in style with whitewashed walls, textured tile floors and dark tropical hardwoods — a great place to retire to at the end of a busy day seeing the sights. For dining the hotel’s Sun Sun restaurant and bar, an open-air wood pavilion overlooking the pools and beach, is great for those seeking a casual atmosphere and plenty of that Floridian sun!! And as if all this wasn't enough, you can take advantage of the facilities at the sister property, The Reach, just one block away.

Now that we have just returned … which, I must say, was incredibly difficult to leave - I wanted to reach out and share our sincere gratitude for the amazing experience we had during our stay at Casa Marina. From the very first greeting upon arrival until our final moments on property, the experience was so flawlessly executed and genuinely remarkable that it felt less like a hotel stay and more like a perfectly curated escape into paradise. Simply put, there was nothing quite like waking up to the sight of the ocean from our balcony each morning; it was an absolute delight and a highlight of our trip, to have such a stunning view from a room that felt so beautifully appointed. In fact, the entire atmosphere at Casa Marina felt more like a secluded Caribbean escape than we ever thought possible. The property's natural beauty, combined with its world-class amenities, created a coastal luxury experience that will not soon be forgotten. What really made the experience stand out, however, was the people. The Casa Marina team members, led by General Manager, Thom Caska, are fantastic ambassadors for this property and the Curio Collection brand. We were particularly impressed by the attentive service from the pool staff; Luke was terrific, as was our daily pool lunch server from Turkey. Each was incredibly warm, attentive, and efficient, ensuring we never had to want for anything. We also want to give a special shout out to our Housekeeper, Kenesha who is from Jamaica; her warmth and dedication made for another fantastic experience, in one of the hardest working jobs in hospitality…she’s a true gem! There were others, Patti the concierge, Ina at the lobby bar, Scott from Stella’s airport transportation, and the Morrison’s Café staff were excellent too…we didn’t miss our daily Starbucks Café Lattes like we expected to. It's that level of genuine care and hospitality that elevates a beautiful stay into a truly unforgettable one. Key West is such a special destination, and our time there was made even more memorable by the hospitality that the Casa Marina team provided. Having spent many years in luxury hospitality, I know how much effort goes into making excellence look effortless. Please know that this is one of those rare travel experiences that truly leaves a lasting impression in a way that is genuinely remarkable. It was a trip we will not soon forget, and we already cannot wait to return. If you are looking for an extraordinary escape that combines world-class service with a Caribbean feel, Casa Marina is in a league of its own. Thank you again for everything. Read less

Lovely stay at Casa Marina. My husband and I had the privilege of staying in one of the oldest rooms at Casa, which was a nice touch for us history buffs. The food was delicious and the breakfast buffet options were 10/10. I used the workout facility several times and it was always clean and tidy. We also got a couples massage which was very… Read more

The food was delicious and the breakfast buffet options were 10/10. I used the workout facility several times and it was always clean and tidy. We also got a couples massage which was very relaxing and soothing. The check in staff were kind and polite, as were the greeters at the parking entrance. We would definitely recommend and can’t wait to come back! Read less

It is a premium hotel and priced accordingly. However, we felt that the restaurants were overpriced compared to the restaurants in town. Read less

Every employee we interacted with was generous with their time, politeness and true concern that we are happy with our stay. At the breakfast buffet we were greeted by Roger who is probably the best waiter ever. He recommended the buffet and the omelet station. OMG the selection of items was to die for. Our room was immaculate. We are so blessed to have found this gem on Key West. Having the white sandy beach and choice of pools was not bad either. We will be back! Read less
