Casa Marina Key West, Curio Collection by Hilton

Key West, Florida Keys

Star rating

The hotel

Opened on New Year's Eve 1920, Casa Marina Resort is Key West’s original grand resort. Boasting a dramatic 'water walk' that leads to the resort's two largest swimming pools and the largest private beach in Key West, Casa Marina is a tranquil oasis close enough to the action of Duval Street. Offered on-site is a booking centre for world-class diving, fishing and boating, and it also has one of the largest fitness facilities in Key West, allowing you to work off those holiday indulgences! Guest rooms here are contemporary in style with whitewashed walls, textured tile floors and dark tropical hardwoods — a great place to retire to at the end of a busy day seeing the sights. For dining the hotel’s Sun Sun restaurant and bar, an open-air wood pavilion overlooking the pools and beach, is great for those seeking a casual atmosphere and plenty of that Floridian sun!! And as if all this wasn't enough, you can take advantage of the facilities at the sister property, The Reach, just one block away.

After my last review which was not a good one at all. I am happy to be able to write a new review. I was told to reach out if we ever decided to come back and we did. From start to finish it was a whole new hotel experience. The property itself has been renovated and is beautiful and well maintained. The staff were amazing, customer service was excellent and they really went the extra mile to make our return visit completely different than our last one. I really appreciated the updates to the grounds, the room we had was very big, spacious and had a great balcony with a view of the sunset and both docks. I am very happy with everything this go round and I will for sure be staying with Casa again. Read less

We didn’t have a good experience at this stay. We were not treated very well after check in. Check in with Lucas was fine. But pretty much from checkin thereafter it went downhill. The hotel was right on a beach and that was nice- but staff questioned us if we were even staying at their resort our second day of our 5 day stay. It was very off-putting. There were many, many others on the beach and the staff member only walked up to us. We didn’t react to staff and just indicated we were. They demanded our room number to verify - we did give them our room number and continued our time on the beach. - the people we were vacationing with were not treated the same as us, luckily. Also, every day we were there, there was a wedding and sections were blocked off and you didn’t have access to because of private event signs. The rooms were VERY bright in the morning and very loud. There were semis on the street that sounded like generators . Also, bartenders were not the friendliest. Rooms were so hot! Had AC set to 65 to try to cool- but room stayed about 75 per our alarm clock thermostat we brought. No where to park to unload our car when we checked in and we were yelled at by valet to move. I had to explain we were just unloading and needed a cart- and we were ignored after they yelled at us- We hurried and unloaded and had to drive around until we got a key card to park across the street. Luckily there were 2 of us checking in or I don’t know what we would have done. Only plus was we could wake up and go to the beach. Next time we will stay at a different hotel. Read less

My husband and I visited for four nights as a vacation away as a couple. The property itself is average for a Hilton, but there are a lot of updates still needed. As others have mentioned, the towels are not what you would expect from a Hilton and the housekeepers do not refill soaps as needed (I had to call the front desk for a replacement). Although check in and the overall quality of our room, I do not feel the money we spent was worth what we experienced. The resort fee of $60 a day rarely includes anything as you’re expected to tip and the prices for drinks and food is outrageous ($24 for a cocktail). I understand the luxury of having amenities onsite but the resort price upfront before even purchasing food, drinks, etc. is not worth it. The beach is very rocky and was not clear when we visited. Staff was not available by the pool/beach for service until later morning which I find a huge disadvantage. My husband had to get towels and set up umbrellas most mornings as there was no staff to assist. Prices for onsite restaurants is outrageous that we ended up ordering UberEats as the quality and price was affordable. We are not cheap by any means and have no problem paying for good food and service, but the amount being spent already before food/drinks will not bring us back here, we would search for another hotel if visiting Key West again. When I arrived to my room it was in a busy area and the bed was located closely to the door. Kaylee worked really hard at the front desk to find me a quiet room with an ocean view during a busy Saturday check in. She succeeded and completely made my day and trip!!!!!! Rebecca M. walked me from one wing of the resort to another to find my new room. Without her I would have literally been lost! These 2 girls saved the day and fixed all the kinks during my first day/ check in. These girls are the best! The resort is amazing, I feel like I am on a Caribbean island. Doesn’t hesitate to book! Stayed here for a work conference and extended my stay through the holiday weekend. Property is beautiful and well kept. Staff are excellent. Food options, both provided during the conference and available to purchase separately were excellent. Disappointed in the gym; only one out of two Peloton bikes were activated and of course the resistance knob was broken on the activated one. Provided toiletries are tolerable and should have been much better quality considering the room rates and extra resort fee. Ice machine(s) are broken on at least floor 2 and 3 of the main building. Beach should also have signage about the big rocks under the water to prevent injuries. Read less
