This is the first of the Centara resorts in the UAE, and they’ve pulled out all the stops to create the ultimate family themed family resort to make your dream holiday come true. Inspired by mythical Thai and magical Arabian adventures, everything has been taken into consideration when it comes to suiting family trips, with interconnecting rooms and bunk beds available for all family sizes, and there’s even a childrens spa to sit alongside the adults one, so they can have their fair share of pampering too – after all, it’s tiring going down the water slides all day long! If you want to add that extra touch to your stay, upgrade to a Mirage room for access to the Family club lounge, complete with family-friendly check-in and a kids’ play area. It will be hard to pull them away from the adventure water park for food though, complete with water slides, high ropes, and a lazy river – it’s unlikely you’ll see much of them in the day, especially with the E-zone too. The construction didn’t affect our comfort; it was only about the view, which isn’t great at the moment.
The hotel itself is not brand new anymore, but it’s fairly clean — not perfect, but good enough for this type of holiday. The rooms are not very large or luxurious — these are not suites, just standard four-star rooms with everything we needed inside. It was perfectly fine for a comfortable stay.
This is definitely a hotel for families rather than individuals or couples who like parties. It’s quite crowded — a lot of kids having fun everywhere. We were also with a child, so we just accepted how things were.
We had an all-inclusive option, which was very convenient because eating outside was almost impossible without taking a taxi. In the hotel, we could use four restaurants:
• The main buffet restaurant (on the ground floor) — we almost never used it.
• Uno Mas, also on the ground floor on the other side of the hotel — a standard à-la-carte restaurant where you need to book a table in advance because it’s usually full. We had dinner there seven times during our stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Aniket, who often served us — a really nice and kind guy. The food was good; I always ordered steaks, and they were excellent. My wife usually had seafood — not as good as my steaks but still decent.
• Sands — a nice place for lunch since you can go there directly from the beach without changing clothes. The waiting time could be a bit long sometimes, but they were always very busy, and we didn’t mind waiting.
• The fourth restaurant — we went there almost every day for breakfast and sometimes for lunch. I usually had eggs and bacon for breakfast, so I can’t comment on the rest of the food, but there was plenty of variety. Lunch and dinner were a bit repetitive, though — almost the same dishes every day.
In the evenings, there were some activities and shows for kids. The best one was definitely the fire show — really impressive and entertaining. On the other hand, the Science Evening and Bubble Evening were the worst. The people running these events, except for one girl who was there only three days a week, didn’t really talk to the kids or interact with the audience at all. It felt very weak and awkward, with no proper introduction or engagement.
Sometimes during the dance events, they picked out the “best dancers” and brought them up on stage, leaving a few kids behind who weren’t chosen. You could see that those kids didn’t feel good about it — it’s not nice to be the only ones left out, especially when the “selection” seemed totally random. It just showed a poor and very artificial attitude toward children. Honestly, I didn’t like it. The staff smiled more when filming for YouTube than when spending time with the kids.
To sum up: it was a good experience overall and definitely worth the price we paid for this holiday. We visit the Emirates almost every year and usually choose a different hotel each time to try something new, but we would definitely come back here for the price we got. 😊

Private beach is perfect for relaxing. Dining options are diverse and delicious. Breakfast buffet was lovely with many choices and well staffed
