Jewel Grande Montego Bay

We had such a wonderful time! We just returned, the staff are so kind and super fun! We really enjoyed the entertainment staff who kept us busy with fun activities through the week. Jermaine, Whitney and Nikesha were exceptionally wonderful and did a great job keeping everyone involved. We had a minor issue with our room, but they moved us without hesitation and were very accommodating! The food was good, but the jerk chicken on the beach was the star of the show. The beach is gorgeous and they do a great job keeping it clean and nice. Most restaurants are not air conditioned, and while it might bother some people, it was not a big deal for me at all. We enjoyed our trip so much! From meeting Vernon, the wonderful man that took us to and showed us our room, to our housekeeper, Glenda, that was on point with everything, to the wait staff, bartenders amd servers, we could not complain of we wanted to. My only complaint (and the food was ok), was at the Japanese restaurant, it was so incredibly hot, that I couldn't eat. Obviously, that was due to the hot hibachi grills. So if we go back, we won't eat there. All of the restaurants had delicious food and we were never hungry or thirsty! Of note, we went on the "off season", the first week of September, but there was hardly anyone there. We didn't have to fight for a beach chair at the pool or the beach. One restaurant each night was closed due to being off season, but we were able to eat at each one. Read less

We stayed at the Jewel Grande at the start of May and had a wonderful time. Although the rooms are dated and could do with a revamp they are spacious, clean and have everything you need. The pool areas are lovely and are complimented by their own bars where a wide range of drinks are available. The beach at the resort is unfortunately bothered by seaweed but the staff do try their best to clean it up. Plenty of food options available such as Asian, Italian and Steak restaurants where a reservation is required. We didn’t have any trouble booking these. The buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner are equally as good and had a wide range of everything. Whilst the resort is large, it is easy to get around, staff are helpful and courteous. The only slight issue with this hotel is that they don’t offer a courtesy room on your day of departure. If you want to extend your check out it is $50 an hour and that is subject to availability. It’s not ideal when flights back to the UK are at 10pm at night. Jamaica is a beautiful place and we shall be visiting again. Read less

Jewel is undeniably a stunning resort, but what truly makes it shine are the people. This review (which may sound like an acceptance speech) is dedicated to the amazing staff who’ve made a significant impact on our family, particularly my children. Each person deserves our utmost respect and admiration and we appreciate them immensely. Upon arrival at Jewel, our family of five, including myself, my husband and 3 boys ages 2, 12, and 15, were greeted by the friendliest bellman and then security lady who directed us to the front desk where we were met by the incredibly polite Ms. Roshaun, who warmly welcomed us and checked us in. Shortly after check-in, our introduction to Toby, one of the two exceptional butlers assigned to us, set the tone for an unforgettable stay at Jewel. This highly anticipated getaway got an unexpected upgrade to an unparalleled luxurious opulence. We initially reserved a 2-bedroom resort view butler suite but the hotel blew us away with a complimentary upgrade to the most stunning 10th-floor oceanfront 3-bedroom (3.5 bath) PENTHOUSE butler suite! Words escape us! While waiting to get our room keys programmed, we dined at Cricket’s Grill in the lobby area, where we met Nickeisha, an incredibly friendly young lady. Her bright and lively demeanor and radiant smile were infectious. My family was amazed at how naturally we fell into a routine with her warm greetings during our interactions at different locations, each time with kindness and familiarity. My husband even asked if I knew her prior to coming to Jewel because of how effortlessly she remembered my name. We also want to take a moment to recognize Lennox, one of our top-notch butlers. His brief interactions with us belied the significant impression he made on our family. This young man genuinely has a good heart, checking in frequently and always making sure our days were going well. His kindness knew no bounds. Notably, on our last night at Jewel, prior to the end of his shift, rather than sending a message, he made an effort to locate us at Moonstone restaurant, where he bid us a warm farewell, chatted with us, and made us feel valued. What a kind gesture! We're delighted to have crossed paths with such a genuine soul. One love. Our review would be incomplete without mentioning our superhero Toby, our other esteemed and professional butler extraordinaire with a cape (not really but he should have one). His warmth, genuine sincerity, and discernment completely won us over. His genuine concern for our trip was truly heartwarming as he checked in daily to ensure our days started and ended smoothly. Toby was instrumental in saving our trip. He efficiently resolved issues that arose during our stay going above and beyond, demonstrating remarkable empathy and collaborated with management, namely Ms. Juliet, who ensured a seamless experience. Her impressive display of compassion surpassed our expectations at Jewel. The game-changer was definitely Toby - our phenomenal butler! Halfway through our stay when he discovered that we were assigned new butlers, his unshakable resolve was a beacon, ensuring he and Lennox saw us through to the end, creating positive ripples that will impact us far beyond this incredible experience. His efforts significantly enhanced our vacation. Our children were thoroughly impressed by his refined style and confidence. His professionalism, composed demeanor and eloquence were noteworthy. We’re truly grateful for him and hold him in the highest regard. He's the real MVP! Respect. -Your VIPs And last but certainly not least, THE STAFF. We were blown away by the staff at this beautiful resort, their tireless efforts to deliver exceptional service didn’t go unnoticed. They’re all so cultured, refined, competent, and stunning individuals.
