The first island you’ll hit as you drive through the keys is Key Largo, most famous for it’s watersports with reef snorkelling, diving, and glass bottom boat tours out of John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park as must-do activities. Neighbouring the state park you’ll find Playa Largo set on 14.5 acres of secluded shoreline, providing your own piece of paradise to stay whilst exploring this part of Florida’s famous archipalageo. The private beach is the only thing between you and the sparkling waters of Florida Bay, where you can enjoy a range of watersports right from the hotel as well as venturing out to nearby attractions (of which there are plenty). There is a laid-back feel to the resort, perfectly in keeping with the area, but that doesn’t stop the facilities and service being up to standard. From a beach shack restaurant to a ceviche bar, all tastebuds are catered for, La Marea is a particularly great choice for locally sourced seafood and freshly handmade artisan breads and pizzas. When you’re seeking serenity after all the activity, book in at Ocean Spa where you can try specially formulated scrubs using coffee grounds, sugar, and salt. The top class service doesn’t end when you get to your room, an iPad is on hand to offer on-demand services to ensure your stay is up to scratch.

The room was not only spotless but also thoughtfully designed for comfort—everything from the cozy bed to the quality toiletries made the stay feel special. I especially enjoyed the breakfast buffet, the pool, and the beach with our kids and friends.
What impressed me most was the staff’s attentiveness—they were always ready with recommendations and quick to help with any requests. I’ll be booking here again on my next trip and would recommend it to friends and family without hesitation.

We had a great stay at Playa Largo. Great sunset views, nice accommodations and super helpful staff like Jacqueline, Edwin and Hector. Also a great start to the day at the Bonvoy lounge breakfast.

If you go to Sol by the Sea, try the curry chicken. Nothing better to pair with your cocktail and the view of the ocean! The chicken is so good, crispy and juicy and delicious. If you want to venture off the resort, Hogs Heaven is about a 15 minute drive down the road, and has some great barbecue (and pool tables!).
For our anniversary, I wanted to surprise my lady with a nice bottle of champagne. I went down to the front desk, and alerted the attendant of my plan. They sent up a bucket of ice to help me out and it was delivered within minutes! Time was of the essence, and they really pulled through. Chryss helped with a quick and efficient checkout. See you guys again next year!
