The hotel

The first island you’ll hit as you drive through the keys is Key Largo, most famous for it’s watersports with reef snorkelling, diving, and glass bottom boat tours out of John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park as must-do activities. Neighbouring the state park you’ll find Playa Largo set on 14.5 acres of secluded shoreline, providing your own piece of paradise to stay whilst exploring this part of Florida’s famous archipalageo. The private beach is the only thing between you and the sparkling waters of Florida Bay, where you can enjoy a range of watersports right from the hotel as well as venturing out to nearby attractions (of which there are plenty). There is a laid-back feel to the resort, perfectly in keeping with the area, but that doesn’t stop the facilities and service being up to standard. From a beach shack restaurant to a ceviche bar, all tastebuds are catered for, La Marea is a particularly great choice for locally sourced seafood and freshly handmade artisan breads and pizzas. The resort is beautiful, the rooms were fantastic, but the staff really make this resort excellent. Frank should run the place; he is fantastic. Also shout out to Hector, Elena, and the guy who was subbing at the front desk without a name tag putting out fires left and right.

Hotel is fantastic. Special note: Jaqueline was top notch for our breakfast needs. She was very helpful and attentive. Wonderful with our kids. It was a bright spot every morning. Look forward to seeing her again.

Beautiful venue with excellent service. Especially Jacqueline who runs the breakfast area made every morning a great start to the day. Joao at the front desk was also great and made everything easy. And cannot forget Sasha at the pool bar is the best bartender at the beach.
