The hotel

Set against the majestic Ko’olau Mountains and overlooking Waikiki Beach, this Sheraton hotel is a real slice of heaven. With sun, sea and sand on your doorstep, indulge in water sports, land sports, wining and dining or simply stake your place in the shade and relax. There are two incredible oceanfront pools: an infinity pool for the adults, a very serene place, or family-friendly Helumoa Pool where the kids can splash to their hearts content. If a spot of pampering appeals, head to Spa Khakara for a couples massage or an individual beauty treatment. Hungry? Kai Market serves farm-to-table fare that showcases the flavours of Hawaii perfectly. It also enjoys amazing views of Diamond Head and the Pacific – a treat for the eyes as well as the taste buds! Alternatively, Rum Fire is the sensuous new spot for tapas and cocktails – boasting the country’s largest selection of vintage rum and playing live island melodies each evening. The Edge of Waikiki lives up to its name – set on the beach, it’s the perfect spot to admire the sunset over a tropical thirst quencher.

Horrible experience with Bonvoy customer service for booking made through expedia . Charged $700 one night stay with ove $100 in taxes and fees despite cancellation within 24 hrs of booking due to upcoming storms. Loyal Bonvoy customer for over 2 decades. Very disappointed Bonvoy and Sheraton.

We visited Waikiki with a large friend group in mid February. The group all stayed at the Outrigger but we wanted to use some Marriott points so we chose the Sheraton Waikiki. The main reason for this review is to compliment Sonny at the front desk. He was phenomenal in his search for an upgraded room for us as part of our Platinum perks. He was super friendly and kept looking until he found us a great room! Thank you Sonny! Service with a smile is the best. Our room was gorgeous with an oceanfront view. That made our stay so special. The resort is huge. Many shops, however the restaurant choices are few. Only one main restaurant (Rumfire) which we didn’t try. A pool bar and a breakfast place at the top of the hotel. We did eat here one morning. Big disappointment. Super standard Buffett. Huge crowds. A line actually to get in. Service was that of a cafeteria. I recommend walking to the Royal Hawaiian next door for the beautiful breakfast there. Or the many other restaurants close by. The Sheraton is in a good location. Walkable to the Royal Hawaiian, Outrigger and other hotels along the beach. Use the beach to walk to these hotels. Very fast. From the front entrance you are close to many many shops and restaurants. We did not use the pool but there are two and they looked pretty nice although crowded at certain times. The hotel sits very close to the beach but no room on their beach for chairs. You have to walk towards the hotels to the left of the property. (Facing ocean) The room upgrade is what made our stay it was truly gorgeous. Comfortable beds, nice bedding, good housekeeping as well. Congrats on hiring employees such as Sonny at the front desk. Because if him We would return. Read less
