This was my second time at The Veranda. (Girls Trip) It is beautiful and perfect for a relaxing vacation. Service was slow and they need more staff, especially at the dining areas. But the staff they have are very friendly and welcoming and what makes the vacation special. Tristan-our favorite driver! He remembered us from last year! So friendly! Robert-our new favorite bartender at the Wavy Wicket. Shemar-another special driver! Thanks for helping me out with the tie dye. LOL Theo-a favorite waiter that also recognized us from last year. Always a smile! Ginger- everyone's favorite cat! And Stache had kittens! Leon and Captain Jack-more awesome staff. Marina- the best omelet maker ever! I'm sure I'm missing others! The food was good, but it lacks a place to just pick up a snack at times during the day. The pizza was excellent, love the crust. Portofino and Sails and Tails were great choices. The coffee shop was nice, but PLEASE just get rid of the sandwiches there. They were the worst. Read less

We booked this through BA Holidays and we’re not sure what to expect, there are so many options available but we wanted low rise and tranquil. We had heard so much about poor service in many resorts and every feedback gives you something different and confusing. From the moment we walked into Verandah it was brilliant, from the beautiful resort to the fantastic staff. The resort was full but it felt like there was hardly anyone there such is the space available. From the number of pools, beaches and restaurants it’s never feels busy and everyone was so engaging from the guests to the staff. No waiting for drinks or rush for restaurants with excellent food and drinks. It’s difficult to describe the experience on paper but once in the resort everyone becomes friendly and happy, truly a great spirit generated at Verandah. Trips and excursions well catered for including a great gym and aqua aerobics what’s not to like ! It was sad to leave but hopefully back one day to a great resort. Finally I have to say a big thank you to the staff for their engagement and smiles throughout the week. Read less

Truly Paradise. You must try the excursions, book early because they fill up quick. Not very expensive-lots of fun. Tiffany from safari discovery was the best! Some workers at resort worth mentioning: Tissandra, Leon, and Theodore just above and beyond. Cleaning staff so kind. The omelette maker at buffet, FANTASTIC.

We really loved our stay in Antigua. Such a gorgeous island and beaches are to die for. We also really enjoyed our stay at Verandah Resort & Spa and our room in particular. There are definitely more pros than cons to Verandah but the cons are worth mentioning as they should be fixed as could potentially impact your stay. Pros: - Rooms are spacious with huge terraces. Definitely worth upgrading to waterfront waterside Villa! -The entire complex is beautiful and very well maintained. - pool is beautiful plenty of loungers however no umbrellas and direct sun can be an issue - Lovers beach is stunning. Plenty of loungers with umbrellas, never too busy, water sports are free and we highly recommend kayaking or catamaran trip, both great fun! Ask for Captain D! He’s the best at catamaran sailing :) - buffet food was really good, especially at breakfast as plenty to choose from. All of the restaurants and pizza place also very good, lots of choice. - lunch at Sails & Tales especially yummy. - Pelicans Diving! We stayed in waterfront Villa 146, section 16, and you can observe diving pelicans pretty much all day! Amazing experience! - Fridays pink party was great fun! Well worth attending as well organised with delicious bbq food. Cons: - Not enough staff. Waiting times to be served, seated or dealt with at reception desk are too long. You may need to wait to be seated for dinner, order a drink at the beach or being served in general. It’s all because there just aren’t enough people in the complex. - Reception staff are simply not customer focused, dare I say unprofessional. When we arrived it wasn’t too bad although you are told to scan a QR code, given towel and a drink to freshen up but then you must wait your turn. Impersonal. On departure day however the girl checking us out was just not bothered, swivelling on the chair, didn’t ask us once how our stay was, just handed us a bill and that’s it. Really bad customer service. - Staff customer service in general is not good. There were some fabulous people like Theodore in the restaurant and Captain D on the beach who are just lovely, happy and positive. Sadly a number of the remaining staff just don’t seem to be bothered and you’re left feeling like you’re an inconvenience rather than a paying guest. This goes to reception, restaurant and bar staff. However all of our buggy drivers and water sports crew were lovely! Would we come back to Verandah, yeah I think we would as the pros outweigh the cons, but we would consider other resorts too!
