The hotel

This small resort is split into two hotels and occupies 300 ft of south coast beachfront. It doesn't matter which hotel you stay in, as you are free to use the facilities at both. This means you can enjoy two swimming pools, an oceanfront restaurant and, of course, a selection of complimentary non-motorised water sports along the lovely white sand beach. Coral Mist and Blue Orchids Hotels have the added advantage of being only a 5-minute drive from the shops, bars and restaurants of the lively St Lawrence Gap.

Where is it

On Worthing Beach, on the south coast of Barbados, a 5-minute drive from St Lawrence Gap. 15 minutes to Bridgetown. Transfer time from airport: 25 minutes.

Coral Mist: 32 rooms on 3 floors in 2 buildings with 1 lift. Blue Orchids: 31 rooms in 3 buildings, 1 with 2 floors, 1 with 3 floors, 1 with 4 floors and a lift. All studios with ocean views, balcony/terrace, air-conditioning, cable TV, WiFi access*, clock radio, telephone, coffee-maker, kitchenette, shower, hairdryer and iron and board. Studio Rooms have twin beds or 1 king-size bed on request, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

1-Bedroom Superior, these suites are larger, have a separate bedroom, lounge area and microwaves, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

1-Bedroom Deluxe, as 1-Bedroom Superior but with beach and ocean views. Sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

2-Bedroom Ocean Front, these suites have a separate bedroom and sitting room including a microwave, the bathroom features a bath, sleeping maximum 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.

1-Bedroom Penthouse Suite, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

Restaurant and bar, serving International and local cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Inside and outside dining available. Various restaurants within walking distance including Bubba's and Champers. Room service* (7:00am-9:00pm).

Managers' weekly cocktail party.

2 swimming pools. Fitness room. Partner of Barbados Golf Club for discounted green fees and preferred tee times*. Pool table, table-football and air-hockey. Complimentary kayaks and boogie boards. Tennis nearby*.

A Tourism Fee will be charged per bedroom, per night and will be collected at check out. The rate is subject to change by the Government, and varies by hotel room. Fees currently range from 8.75 Barbadian dollar (approximately £3.90) to 35 Barbadian dollar​ (approximately £16.00) per bedroom, per night.

Just returned from 7 night stay- good location for exploring, room had great facilities and tidy. Red flag all week on beach felt staff not very friendly

Just come back spent 2 weeks in the hotel. Our room was lovely we got a free upgrade on arrival. Paid for breakfast which came in handy. Kelly was a lovely host and enjoyed her company. However we were given incorrect menus and even though we paid for full breakfast I was charged for a salmon bagel and 2 orange juices . This should have been… Read more

We stayed here for 2 nights at the start of our 2 week holiday in Barbados. We chose Coral Mist because of the location to some great beaches and restaurants. There's nothing to dislike about the hotel - we couldn't fault it. It's quite dark decor wise and it's at the cheaper end of the hotel budget scale so you get exactly what you expect. The room was spacious and clean, had everything we needed for the two night stay and we had a great nights sleep both nights. The sea is literally 20 feet in front of the hotel so the views in the morning are spectacular. The weather was fairly breezy during our stay which lent favour to more dramatic waves, meaning we were lulled to sleep at night by the impressive sound of crashing waves - something I'd pay good money for in the UK. The room was furnished with a small kitchenette, all necessary utensils, coffee machine (ground coffee type), a fridge freezer, oven with electric ring hob, kettle and toaster. We only used the fridge and kettle so can't comment on the other appliances. I used the pool which was small but enough to get wet and cool off in. Read less

We had a nice relaxing stay at Coral Mist Hotel. The rooms were clean and spacious with a balcony view looking over the sea. We thought the location was good for exploring the west side of Barbados up to Bridgetown and further afield. We made use of the kitchen facilities eating in occasionally to save money but also went to restaurants close by including Champers which was lovely. The hotel has it's own small beach area with sunbeds which we used throughout our stay. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend for those looking at a good location with your own kitchen facilities.
