The hotel

Visits to Florida aren't all about theme parks and children's attractions - there's plenty of places full of history and culture to explore at a slower pace, and St Augustine is one of them! Claimed to be the oldest city in the US, you can enjoy a mix of a beach holiday with an educating city break staying here at the Embassy Suites right on the oceanfront. Upgrade to a room with a balcony for views of the expansive pool and the beach all in one - because that's how close you are to the sand! The Castillo de San Marcos is the oldest masonry fort in the continental US, and it's just 10 minutes away for you visit and explore. On your way back, enjoy the many bars and restaurants in the area, or cool down at Castaway Cantina back at the hotel with it's impressive selection of cervezas - it certainly fits in with the Spanish feel of this town.

Met Janet who is employed there. Super sweet. The hotel is clean spotless and very inviting. Enjoy just walking thru the doors and seeing the beautiful view and decor.

The staff and parking attendants were all gracious and polite. A superb breakfast was served, a great way to start the day. They also served a nice social hour every evening with cocktails and snacks. This was very pleasant. We enjoyed meeting the other guests, discussing what we all had done that day. We were very happy that we stayed here. I would go back. Read less

The bathrooms are very clean and the breakfast is well organized machine. It takes a lot of people to operate a hotel. Great location on the Atlantic. The hallways odor from pets is not ideal. Carpets easier to clean is needed. Also they changed the sheets for the adults but not teens...ODD. The other issue is if you need an extra set of… Read more

Carpets easier to clean is needed. Also they changed the sheets for the adults but not teens...ODD. The other issue is if you need an extra set of sheets...the desk sent pillowcases. Not until an hour later we got a fitted sheet but no flat sheet. So for $800 for 2 nights...hmmm. I loved the pool, great valets and cooks. Read less

So i dont worry about tipping or if im tipping enough. Service was good. 3. They got cozy outside evening fire place. It was nice to order apps and drink while by the fire and on the rocking chair. 4. Dont be like medea and say charge it to the room to offen you will get that final bill and its add up. But i regret nothing. 5. The beach is nice for surffing but may be to much for swimming on a Yellow flag. 6. 2 queen 2 suite was nice. Not a fan of the double bathroom door but it nessaery. >Bed are hard > pillows soft >bathrrom tub got alittle rust but may be due to Florida water. > water the hotle uses is fl. water not filter/purified. > on couch something bit our family memeber so if you sleep on couch make sure you check for fleas or spiders 7. Its dark on the beach no light on any side due to sea turtle 8. So they do allow kids and dogs. Both were ok not too noisy. 9. Food was good. >The appetizers at bar better than restaurants >The restaurants was good. >Breakfast was best, fill up and enjoy your day activities . omelet were the main event and my fav was the chiefs recommendation with the jalapeños. So good. >Pool food good. Free snow cones were good. 10. Pool and spacious and jacuzzi was nice and hot. Overall would recommend and the extras that come with the hotel fee and 20% gratuity on each check makes it easier and more relaxing to not have to think and just relax. We used 1 free night with hilton and points to stay 2nd night. It was so good we actual paid for the 3rd night instead of transfering to a cheaper one on points. Still used hilton discount. Read less
