The hotel

Visits to Florida aren't all about theme parks and children's attractions - there's plenty of places full of history and culture to explore at a slower pace, and St Augustine is one of them! Claimed to be the oldest city in the US, you can enjoy a mix of a beach holiday with an educating city break staying here at the Embassy Suites right on the oceanfront. Upgrade to a room with a balcony for views of the expansive pool and the beach all in one - because that's how close you are to the sand! The Castillo de San Marcos is the oldest masonry fort in the continental US, and it's just 10 minutes away for you visit and explore. On your way back, enjoy the many bars and restaurants in the area, or cool down at Castaway Cantina back at the hotel with it's impressive selection of cervezas - it certainly fits in with the Spanish feel of this town.

We are locals and frequently visit to enjoy the Starbucks. The staff is extremely kind. Recently Janet made our stay enjoyable with sweet conversation while she was petting our dog. It is nice to feel at home.

I’m super picky when it comes to beach resorts. I have yet to find a resort in Florida that compares to those in the Caribbean (St. Barths, Antiqua, Vieques, etc.) - I have FINALLY found that resort and it is here at the Embassy Suites in St. Augustine. Beautiful accomodations. Pool and Pool Service were stellar. Walks on the private beach - fishing off the pier - short car ride to historic downtown. Loved sitting on the balcony of my room watching the sunrise and sunset. I was NOT EXPECTING the levels of excellence provided by the entire staff. Fabio greeted us and took good care of us. Breakfasts are phenomenal and be sure to seek out Wendy D. (Server) - she was the best tour guide and gave us stellar recommendations as one of the days was rainy. Giuseppi was a riot at the front desk and was super helpful. I travel over 200 days a year for business and pleasure - by far this takes the cake as an OUTSTANDING beachfront resort - will be back again and again for sure. Also the property is very dog friendly. Read less

Have been here multiple times for day passes to enjoy the pool and have never been hassled for wristbands or anything else. However, today was a completely different story. Just a couple weeks ago day passes passes were inexpensive. Cut to today and now it’s through a third-party and $95 a person. Also, the people working were extremely rude,… Read more

Just a couple weeks ago day passes passes were inexpensive. Cut to today and now it’s through a third-party and $95 a person. Also, the people working were extremely rude, which is a first at this establishment in my experience. Communication between their valet staff and their front desk about the process to get a day pass is completely uncommunicated between the parties. Very disappointing from a locals perspective. It was a huge selling point to be able to go saddle up to the bar have a few drinks and enjoy a pool for the day. Been planning a staycation here and now, don’t even want to. Absolutely disappointing and as Hilton Honors members completely dissatisfying. Read less

Great location if you want a long flat beach to walk. The hotel was clean and workers such as Janet made an extra effort to meet all our needs. Great breakfast too! Can't wait to go back.

We love this resort. It was our fourth year staying here for spring break. The service is amazing and both the Cantina and Hook and Reel have excellent food and service. A special shout out is due to Tory, Hunter, Katie, Analiza, and McKenna!
