Fairmont Ajman

Ajman, Dubai

Star rating

The hotel

Fairmont’s fabulous outpost in Ajman, this luxury beachfront retreat brings all the glamorous décor, gourmet dining, and grand amenities you’d expect from a Fairmont — in a setting you might not expect in the UAE. The next big name in the emirates, Ajman may be 30 minutes from Dubai, but it’s poles apart in its subtlety and serenity. The Fairmont’s arrival to its palm-swept beachline signals Ajman’s ready to compete with its neighbours. A grand getaway, it brings eight restaurants and lounges (taking you from Italy to the Caribbean), an infinity pool fringing a private stretch of sand, and an activity list that covers everyone in the family, from those after spa treatments to those who’d prefer splashing about on a floating off-shore water park (and even little guests who’d prefer making sandcastles at their kids’ club).

Arrived at the hotel at 2.30am to find we were not allocated the room we had booked and instead had one king size bed for 3 persons . Went to reception to an unhelpful staff member who advised that a bed would be placed in the room . After waiting 40 minutes and keen to go to sleep , we then attended reception again to be told by housekeeping that there were no spare beds left in the hotel to be allocated . The male on reception advised that the king bed was large and we could all sleep in that ! I did not book this hotel nor pay over £5000 to share a bed with my thirteen year old 6 foot tall son ! Really disappointed with the attitude , disorganisation and untruthful approach encountered so far ! Not the holiday we were looking forward to at all so far ! Read less

Hotel and location excellent, staff wonderful. Russians ARE SO RUDE AND IGNORANT. They make up 80% of the hotel. Don't leave your knife and forks unattended as a Russian woman stole them while we sat down eating evening meal.
