Fairmont Ajman

Ajman, United Arab Emirates

Star rating

The hotel

Fairmont’s fabulous outpost in Ajman, this luxury beachfront retreat brings all the glamorous décor, gourmet dining, and grand amenities you’d expect from a Fairmont — in a setting you might not expect in the UAE. The next big name in the emirates, Ajman may be 30 minutes from Dubai, but it’s poles apart in its subtlety and serenity. The Fairmont’s arrival to its palm-swept beachline signals Ajman’s ready to compete with its neighbours. A grand getaway, it brings eight restaurants and lounges (taking you from Italy to the Caribbean), an infinity pool fringing a private stretch of sand, and an activity list that covers everyone in the family, from those after spa treatments to those who’d prefer splashing about on a floating off-shore water park (and even little guests who’d prefer making sandcastles at their kids’ club).

Buffet breakfast was ok but not the best fresh fruit selection. Limited amount of dirhams if you wanted to use any other restaurant. However, Akash the lifeguard was amazing and attentive and helped with sunbeds daily. The couples spa treatment was absolutely one of the best we’d ever had and the ladies were AMAZING. Lots of Russian holidaymakers which is ok but they are unintentional appearing to always be rude ! Read less

Just back from a week away at Fairmont Ajman……cannot fault the rooms and the cleanliness of the hotel itself immaculate, hence the 1*. The pool is ok, lots of broken tiles at bottom of pool, the outside could really do with updating, all looks very tired….now for the cons of this hotel: POOL & BEACH Every morning (no matter how early you got up, all the good sun bed’s around the pool would be taken by towels the LifeGuards would put on (which I later learned guests were paying them to do!)…no space around the pool there were that many sun beds crammed on there, so we had to go on beach every day, I have never been on such a litter strewn beach, empty cans, bottles, bottle lids, it was dreadful. Food at this bar are not all inclusive. RESTAURANTS ….the only restaurant which was all inc was The Spectrum which was where you had breakfast, midday lunch etc, where it was like school canteen, food was ok just same every day! KIYI RESTAURANT NOT ALL INCLUSIVE…..absolutely stunk of smoke, we were stunned to learn that this was a smoking restaurant…and you could smell it through the main foyer, if you were a non smoker we had to take our drinks outside ( bearing in mind how hot it was) it was almost like you were punished for being a non smoker!,, we did not eat in this restaurant. GIAIO RESTAURANT NOT ALL INCLUSIVE…..this was a lovely restaurant….but again you had to pay towards the meal (same as KIYI restaurant)…but you could sit and not stink of smoke!!….ypu would receive 50 AED each from the hotel towards your meal, which isn’t a lot as most of the meals started at 50 AED. XYOLO SPORTS BAR & POOL BAR Absolutely dreadful another smoking bar NOT ALL INCLUSIVE BAR, so we couldn’t watch any sport unless we bought drinks then sit in bar full of smoke!,,staff in this part of the bar were far from friendly!!, Beautiful foyer which you CANNOT sit in and have a drink as you are not allowed. While we were there it was full of Russians & Germans which were so rude towards the British. Pictures that are advertised in the brochure are definitely not what we saw….I have added pictures.
