Extremely Disappointing Stay — Not Even Close to Acceptable Standards My parents are currently staying at this hotel for a 2-week half board booking, and the experience has been nothing short of unacceptable. From day one, the issues started: the room phone was not working, the room had a strong unpleasant smell, and even simple requests (such as removing the minibar and keeping the fridge open) were ignored. The situation escalated further when the dinner buffet — part of the half board package — was suddenly canceled, and guests were redirected elsewhere without any proper explanation. When I contacted the hotel, the response I received was shocking: “we don’t know” and no clarity on whether this would continue for the rest of the stay. This level of uncertainty is completely unprofessional. To make matters worse, my parents do not speak English, and there was no effort from the hotel to provide any meaningful assistance. For an international hotel, this is a basic expectation. What stands out the most is not just the number of issues, but the complete lack of accountability and care. The attitude from the staff can only be described as indifferent — a clear “take it or leave it” approach, with zero attempt to resolve problems or retain guests. Even when I requested a solution or relocation (especially given comparable rates at other hotels), the response was dismissive, hiding behind booking policies rather than showing any willingness to help — despite the fact that payment was made directly at the hotel. This is not a service failure — this is a complete breakdown of hospitality standards. I would strongly advise others to reconsider before booking, especially for long stays. The experience does not match even basic expectations, let alone what is advertised. Read less

Elcid did a fantastic job on assisting us in every aspect that we need during our stay. His very attentive and giving the time to ask if we are good. Definitely will always come back with this kind of service.

Reception hadn’t replied to my emails saying I was coming and being Diamond was hoping for an upgrade, which wasn’t forthcoming but if the hotels full that’s understandable. To say the hotel has just had a refurbishment I was astounded by the poor quality rooms and fit out. Our marble had stains and been fixed, bathrooms had not been done. Rooms are small and the hotel being one of the first there is showing why you should stay elsewhere. Exec lounge was not great, poor service, no one was smiling and atmosphere poor. Had breakfast here which was equally disappointing. Thankfully only had 2 nights which was enough and moved on to the Conrad which was excellent. Overall you are paying for the position which to be honest JBR is not great. Look elsewhere the Hilton on the Palm knocks spots of this hotel Read less

An excellent hotel very well situated and the staff are great especially Ramses valet parking, Sofia (spelling?) restaurant manager and 6th floor housekeeping. We got caught by the outbreak of the war and the hotel were very understanding.

The hotel charged USD 149 to my credit card (for some reason unbeknownst to me) at the time of check-in and never paid it back! I realized this charge unfortunately about 2-3 weeks after my departure. My assistant spent hours exchanging emails with the Hotel but at no benefit. Hilton "failed" to see the charge even though I sent the bank statement. It was quite a nuisance to be RIPPED OFF by a Hilton!! Read less
