Image of the Tripadvisor rating Great location just a bit dated

Great location but hotel felt dated and cramped around pool. We stayed in 3 hotels on our trip but this was my least favourite even though our room was massive and more like a suite but it felt dated, even though it was spotlessly clean! We were on a corner so no balcony and couldn’t even open a window which I didn’t like. We always struggled to get loungers by the pool and the pool felt very crowded, it does have a private beach area too but it was too hot for us to use. The pool area is too small for the amount of guests the hotel accommodates. We also had lounge access but food was a bit limited, although the selection of soft drinks was good and liked the fact you could just help yourself. The location is great right by all the shops and restaurants on the beach. The half board option was nice too and we had a lovely meal at the Italian restaurant on the ground floor and also Trader Joes! This hotel was closing for refurb over the summer months so I’m assuming it will look a better when it reopens! It’s still a lovely hotel and the staff were great just wasn’t the same standard of Dubai hotels we had stayed at on the same trip so felt a little bit of a downgrade, wish we’d have stayed here first as we’d come from the Atlantis which is just a different level. Great hotel though if you’re on a budget and need a good location as it was right in the middle of JBR so perfect to walk out of an evening to restaurants etc. Read less

I was walking along the beachside with my baby and husband when we approached the staff to ask about using the sun loungers. We were told they were available for a fee and, even though they were closing in 45 minutes, we agreed — we simply wanted to relax for a short while. There was no issue at this point. However, the moment we began settling into the loungers, another staff member stormed over with an aggressive attitude, claiming they were already closed and the card machine had been put away. We offered a reasonable solution — to walk to the hotel lobby and pay there — but instead of handling the situation like professionals, they escalated it. Security was called and we were *chased off* like criminals. With a baby, no less. The behavior we experienced was not only disrespectful but utterly humiliating. Staff were rude, dismissive, and completely incapable of handling a simple situation with basic courtesy or common sense. This was clearly a case of internal miscommunication, yet instead of owning up to their mistake or offering any apology or resolution, we were treated like we were trying to get away with something. It was appalling. If this is how you treat paying guests, then you seriously need to retrain your staff — not just in customer service, but in basic human decency. Read less

The hotel is... Meh, not amazing, not terrible, there are better hotels in the area for the same price. The main complaint is that there is no free water around the pool. It is 40+ degrees. This is shocking. A small bottle of water is 25dhs (£5). A large bottle is 40dhs (£8). Every other hotel in the area provides water for free. Stop cash… Read more

I had a very bad experience staying at the hotel pool. I was robbed by a hotel guest. My purse was stolen. The entire incident was reported to the hotel reception. Unfortunately, the hotel staff claimed I was making up the story and that my purse was not missing. After several hours of pressure and information that the theft had been reported to the police, the hotel manager became interested. They checked the security cameras, which showed a young man taking my purse and heading into town. The purse was traced, and after many attempts, I recovered it. Unfortunately, I received no apology or compensation. We were informed that we could use the pool next time, which we did during our next stay. Unfortunately, we were asked to leave the hotel with the information that the theft had not occurred, that it was just a minor mistake on the part of the hotel guest. I've never encountered such a disastrous lack of responsibility and treatment of a guest who pays a considerable amount of money to use the pool. It's a disgrace, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. Read less
