This property feels like it used to be busy, maybe. It just feels overbuilt, empty, and not well-maintained. Here's an example: The MAC 24/7 diner. Sounds like a place that would be open 24/7, right? Wrong. It's only open for breakfast. I'm guessing it *used* to be open 24/7 when this place was jumpin', but not anymore. (That said, our breakfast… Read more

Wrong. It's only open for breakfast. I'm guessing it *used* to be open 24/7 when this place was jumpin', but not anymore. (That said, our breakfast was good and the server at the counter was an absolute joy — full of aloha and a true ray of sunshine!) Our room: Something in the bathroom leaked, so the floor was always wet. Soaking wet. We put down a couple of towels. By morning, they were sopping wet. We couldn't figure out where the water was coming from. But we were only here for two days and didn't feel like moving after discovering it. The room furnishings were beat up and sad. For the same price, you could stay at the Hilton Garden Inn — a much better property in a far better location — which is our usual choice. We experimented on this trip. Lesson learned. Read less

Image of the Tripadvisor rating Lacked the Warmth & Hospitality You Expect from a Hilton Stay

Customer service and hospitality fell short at this property. After a long evening flight, we arrived expecting a warm welcome. Still, Eugene at the front desk was cold—no greeting and no acknowledgment of my Diamond status, which I’ve never experienced at a Hilton. My reservation noted that we were celebrating our 17th anniversary and requested an upgrade if available, but that was ignored. Our Makai Tower room was average, and the body wash in the shower was empty—we had to call to have it refilled. Breakfast service was disappointing. Vanessa was unfriendly and inattentive. I pointed out the cracked teapot and cup; she replaced my cup and ignored the teacup and never checked back in. The one standout was Shannon at Nui restaurant. Attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming, he set the standard for what hospitality should feel like. Checkout was more of the same. Annie didn’t greet us or ask about our stay. We pointed out an error with the daily Diamond credits and waited in line again to fix it with no apology. Nice property, but it lacked the warmth and aloha spirit you’d expect on vacation. Front desk service, in particular, needs improvement. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Not a four star hotel

May 4, 2026 G C

Air-conditioning leaked all over bathroom 2 of the three nights I stayed here. Anything I asked for the mostly apathetic staff could not or would not accommodate. Worst tour recommendation ever, seriously, from people who were there more to try and sell than steer one to a great experience. This a a two star hotel, rusty and crusty. Avoid.
