Planned a quick little getaway from northern Los Angeles county. I was pleasantly surprised at the updated lobby and room decor. The pool area was great for the kids and after the sun went down had fun playing in the outdoor recreation area. Fun place for family with kids and easy drive to the downtown area.

Came here on a last minute getaway with the family on mother’s-day. Had a wonderful time. They checked us in 3 hours early, so we got to experience their beautiful pool that sits right next to the docks. From our room we could faintly hear the seals which we thought was a nice touch. You get access to a modest gym, pool side food and beverage service both of which we utilized and rate highly in satisfaction. The slides were a fan favorite for our two boys who endlessly made their way back time after time to enjoy. We even got to do an poolside movie night featuring our boys nostalgic favorite, Lilo and stitch. That was just one of the many pleasant surprises that seem to constantly happen when you stay at this resort. Our only downside, which is probably more of ignorance on our part, was after resort fees and parking, our one night stay increased +$100. I, like many, am not a fan of hidden fees but my satisfaction of my stay surpassed my complaints too far to not leave a good review. From the front desk to the bar and server team to even just employees passing by, they were all very kind and seem genuinely happy. Read less

My wife and I just returned from a vacation at the beautiful Hyatt Regency Mission Bay and we had a wonderful experience. The property is so well maintained. The pool area is large with plenty of chairs and space available. The Pelican’s on the bay pool bar/restaurant serves terrific drinks and meals. The staff here is top notch and first class, like most Hyatt Regency staff members. They’re always saying hello as they pass and quick to assist with any questions. Pam in the Red Marlin restaurant was just the sweetest and kindest person. My wife and I looked forward to seeing her every morning. The breakfast was delicious every morning with a Hyatt Regency staple on the menu…Eggs Benedict. As a Globalist I was upgraded to one of the top terrace rooms on the 18th floor with a wrap around balcony that offered some of the best views of San Diego, and was so quiet and reserved at night. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the room had an oversized bathroom with a great rain fall shower. We had initially reserved the Grand Hyatt downtown but we’d heard of some unnecessary frugal cut backs from the new management of that property and we switched to the H.R Mission Bay and we were so glad we did! If you’re looking for a relaxing, beautiful property in San Diego for vacation or business…do yourself a favor and check out this amazing property. We certainly look forward to returning! Read less
