The hotel

In a secluded bay, overlooking a beach regarded as the most beautiful on Phuket, this is certainly an idyllic holiday choice. Soft golden sand to glide along, sunsets to admire, and, of course, beautiful accommodation, ranging from Junior Suites to those set back amongst trees and tropical flowers. Pampering pursuits include a full-service spa and a beauty salon, ensuring you look and feel your best. As well as lots of sports activities you can get involved in more cultural endeavours, take a Thai cooking class and learn how to carve those fancy fruit decorations or enjoy a workout whilst learning the art of Thai boxing. Finally, a word about those restaurants, there are several to choose from, serving Thai and Western delights for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There’s also La Scala for Italian cuisine and light music, plus several beach bars for an enticing tropical cocktail!

It was my sixth time in Katathani. You don't go six times to a hotel if you don't like it ;-). To me and my family it's a little bit of paradise here on earth and it always feels a bit of coming home. The staff is very helpfull and friendly. Some of them recognise us and it's a joy to see them again. Especially the staff of the garden massage… Read more

The setting? Breathtaking. A sweeping beachfront that deserves its own film score. Five stars without question. But the rest of the experience? Let’s just say the supporting cast and production didn’t live up to the scenery. The staff? Solid performers with heart — just lacking polish. Three out of five. You get the feeling they care, but the direction is off, and the details slip through. Breakfast? Technically complete — the boxes are ticked, but just barely. Think: budget buffet pretending to be a gourmet brunch. Two stars. The rooms? A real letdown. Humidity everywhere, forcing you to run freezing air conditioning non-stop just to keep the bedsheets dry. Add in worn furniture and sloppy maintenance, and you’re down to two stars again. This could’ve been a five-star classic. Instead, it’s a missed opportunity with beautiful visuals and a script that needs a rewrite. I won’t be watching the sequel. Read less
