The hotel

In a secluded bay, overlooking a beach regarded as the most beautiful on Phuket, this is certainly an idyllic holiday choice. Soft golden sand to glide along, sunsets to admire, and, of course, beautiful accommodation, ranging from Junior Suites to those set back amongst trees and tropical flowers. Pampering pursuits include a full-service spa and a beauty salon, ensuring you look and feel your best. As well as lots of sports activities you can get involved in more cultural endeavours, take a Thai cooking class and learn how to carve those fancy fruit decorations or enjoy a workout whilst learning the art of Thai boxing. Finally, a word about those restaurants, there are several to choose from, serving Thai and Western delights for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There’s also La Scala for Italian cuisine and light music, plus several beach bars for an enticing tropical cocktail!

To understand the sheer massiveness of the resort, you have to realize it essentially stretches the entire landscape of Kata Noi. The property spans nearly 850 meters of prime beachfront, roughly half a mile of continuous white sand. It is divided into two distinct worlds. The Thani Wing, which sits directly on the oceanfront for those wanting the sound of waves, and the Bhuri Wing, which is tucked into the lush, tropical gardens across the road. With over 500 rooms, six swimming pools, and a literal "Aqua Jungle" water park for the kids, it’s the kind of place where you can walk for fifteen minutes and still be on hotel grounds. It isn't just a hotel, it’s a localized ecosystem that occupies almost the entire bay. Our accommodation was very decent, and most importantly, we slept well throughout the stay. We were on the ground floor with a balcony that opened directly toward the pool. The room itself had a warm, contemporary feel with a striking wood-lattice headboard that added a touch of style to the modern decor. A unique feature of the layout was the glass window between the bedroom and the bathroom, which made the space feel much larger and allowed natural light (and eyes….) to reach the bathtub. We also had a sofa positioned near the balcony made into the bed for our child. There were moments I genuinely felt like I was in Europe. The guest list was almost entirely international, hailing from the EU along with a few Kiwis who were built like absolute boulders. Aside from one or two other Thai families, we were a rarity. The public road cutting through the resort is lined with pharmacies and touristy restaurants, but if you’re looking for "real-deal" Thai food where the locals actually eat, you’re going to have a hard time finding it in the immediate neighborhood. One of the biggest surprises of the trip was the lack of mosquitoes. Despite the tropical greenery and the frequent rain, I didn't suffer from too many bites. We visited in stormy October. And speaking of those storms, you may want to avoid visiting in October as the stormy season may still very well be in full swing. The public road separating the two sides of the hotel flooded quite heavily during the downpours we experienced. If you stay here, you absolutely must try the Mediterranean Buffet. It was a highlight of our stay. The food was excellent, specifically the heavily spiced mutton BBQ skewers (Cevapi), which I highly recommend. It also felt like one of the few places that didn't have "tourist killer" pricing. In addition, they charged only a modest fee for children, which felt incredibly fair since kids usually eat so little anyway. On the flip side, stay far away from the chicken rice at breakfast. It essentially tasted like plain white rice. It desperately needed a boost of chicken fat, garlic, and ginger to give it any soul. For families, the resort is a total winner. Our children enjoyed the stay immensely because several of the pools are designed with kids in mind, featuring splash zones and water slides that kept them busy for hours. And now in 2026, with the addition of Aqua Jungle, the kids are going to absolutely lose their minds with excitement! Read less
