Our stay at Lux Grande Gaube was excellent. We spent 2 weeks on honey-moon there on an all-inclusive package in a junior wellness suite in the adult only part of the resort. I'll start with our gripes first. The hotel can feel crowded peak-times (especially breakfast) which did occasionally effect service but 95% of the time we didn't have any issues. Second and biggest gripe, the honeymoon package/add-ons weren't good. The service for the dinner and breakfast by the pool were very rushed, and the fizz with canapes in the room were a joke (half a bottle of sparkling wine and 4 tiny canapes is hardly an "experience"). If we'd arrived with the full bottle in the room that would have felt a lot more special. We could of got one anyway on the all-inclusive package so why not just put one in the room anyway? For things to do we'd recommend a trip to Port Louis and the botanical gardens as an easy day trip (which the hotel can help organise), as well as a private boat trip with snorkelling to one of the islands to the north (cost around £400 but was easily the highlight of the trip for us), any wildlife enthusiasts MUST go to Confetti Cove to go snorkelling. The water sports included in the all-inclusive are varied and fun but the booking system was a bit convoluted for water skiing which meant you were often waiting a long time to get a go (this might be unavoidable due to tides though so I won't include it in the overall score). On a whole the room was great. Some nooks and crannies of the rooms could do with a deeper clean but on a whole the room was very clean and maintained to an exceptionally high standard, the bed was massive (and comfortable) and all the amenities were spot on. The 45 minute couples massage included with the room was a great touch. The resort looked excellent for younger families, but the adult only part of the hotel was so peaceful, it was impressive that the hotel managed to cater to everyone. Best part, the food. There are 6 restaurants and they'll all excellent. Plenty to keep you going over 2 weeks without getting bored! Our personal favourite was the Creole Smokehouse for lunch and Inti for dinner (this one isn't included on your all inclusive but is still excellent value with a 30% discount). Finally, the staff. All the staff were so welcoming and kind. From the ground-staff to the cleaners, everyone makes you feel welcome. We'd like to thank our cleaner Jessica, Romani from the Creole Smoke house, and Veer, Mevin, and Ansh from the adult only beach who were all wonderful throughout. There was one more lady in the spa (I can't remember her name to our shame, but her son turns 30 this year so hopefully that helps identify her) who made our day when we went for our massage. 4 stars would be harsh because we had a great time, a 4.5/5 seems better so I've rounded it up. There are small parts that let it down and I think that it offers so many "experiences" it just detracts a little from the smaller more sentimental moments. We would definitely recommend to anyone who was thinking about going, especially if they have young children. Thanks to the team at Lux Grande Gaube for a wonderful honeymoon. Read less

Where to start! This was our second visit in little over a year as we love this place so much. Before we arrived Visham took care of specific requests such as room choice and dinner bookings and met us in person during our stay. Elena and Jessica on reception ensured every need was met. We headed swiftly after arrival to the adults only area to be greeted by our friend Ansh who absolutely knows how to look after his guests. He even remembered our drinks preferences from last year and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The beach was always well looked after by Kumar, Reedoo and Saif when we wanted a change of scenery and they look after us well with fresh towels, drinks and a good chat. Sunsets on the beach were lovely. Dinner at Bodrum Blue didn’t disappoint and it was so nice to be greeted by Durgesh and Dhiksha who treated us like we’d never been away. Service and food was impeccable as is the view from the tables around the edge of the restaurant. Chef Bilal creates some excellent traditional dishes which make you go back time and again. And finally, and the last hand we shook before leaving was Jason. He could not do more to ensure our stay was perfect and he knows we’ll be back! Thank you to all the staff for another wonderful stay and we will be back! Read less

We tried all the included restaurants and some of the choice like octopus, veal tartar, pizzas, burgers, prawns are just delicious! We are already thinking about returning. The weather was amazing. I was abit concerned about wind but the hotel is built in a smart way where it is 90% sheltered from any gusts! It was 28 degrees and sunny everyday! We recommend booking the restaurants in advance so you are guaranteed a space, but if not the buffet was also incredible! The only small minus is waiting times for food and drinks can be 30+ mins - but that didn’t stop us from enjoying the holiday and we would rather eat and drink everything fresh so it is always worth a wait just keep in mind to order asap! If you are doing a day out - you can ask for a picnic to be prepared the day before so you can bring it with you! (on the all inclusive basis) Do not worry about anything - just go! You will love it.
