The hotel

Oozing island charm, this beauty has just 79 rooms but packs in plenty of reasons as to why it deserves a visit. Inspired by its stunning waterfront location, just a stroll from the heart of St Lawrence Gap with its great bars, restaurants and nightlife, Rostrevor Hotel features just enough turquoise touches to remind you the ocean’s right outside — in fact, every guest room looks out over it. If you want to get even closer, the swimming pool sits a few mere metres from the ocean, on a bluff-like perch that creates absorbing views as you swim and sunbathe. An equally alluring sunbathing spot, the secluded sands of Rostrevor Beach fringe the hotel. The pool’s paired with one of the hotel’s two eateries, the Almond Tree Pool Bar, so you can dine in casual comfort during the day, before heading to the other restaurant, The Harlequin, for International food with Caribbean flair for a delicious evening meal.

This holiday was initially booked by my now husband as a 50th birthday gift for me. We then got engaged in october 2025 and decided to double up and get married at the hotel as well. Jennifer and Toree made all the necessary arrangements for the wedding for us before we arrived. When we arrived our room (202) was amazing with a kitchen living area with TV dining room table and a good size balcony that had the most amazing sea views. The bedroom was a good size with a decent sized bathroom with shower. The overall hotel was big enough with a good amount of sun beds for everyone and it never felt crowded even at breakfast. We were bed and breakfast so every morning it was a joy to go and see the team an older man some days and an older lady the other days, they always greeted us with a smile and a good morning. The rooms could do with a little bit of TLC but overall they were fine. The rooms were cleaned every day and fresh clean towels provided if you needed them. There was a decent sized pool and steps down to a rocky area where you were able to swim in the sea and see turtles of they were about. the hotel overall is good value for money. The location of the hotel is perfect on St. Lawrence gap, bars and restaurants a plenty, Sharkeys Bar was one of our favourites, Beautiful beaches everywhere all within walking distance of the hotel. I had read reviews about the noise from the bars, it is a bit noisy but if you shut the windows and the bathroom door that solves the problem. There is a massys supermarket 20 minutes walk away that has a great range of fresh produce including waitrose products if you want a bit of home but as you can imagine expensive. There is a good bus service and lots of taxis, including the reggae buses which are fun. The island itself is not massive but we hired a car which the hotel arranged for about £30 a day and we were then able to drive to some of the other places like Bathsheba, Speightstown, Sandy Lane and Bridgetown, you could probably drive around the whole island in a day. A big shout out to Toree from rostrevor who was there for our wedding and made sure everything was on track. The wedding day was very relaxed and went off smoothly, we were married in front of the sea in the hotel grounds a simple service, surrounded by our dear friends. Read less

the Rostrevor is in an ideal spot on the Gap. the staff were lovely and even found the manchester derby for me to watch at breakfast one day. the rooms are large and airy and the balcony is ideal for having a glass of wine on while listening to the sea and watching the beautiful sunset. the only reason it hasn't got 5 stars is because the pool area is a little tired and people were putting towels on sunbeds at 6am and not getting to the pool till late morning and despite notices there was never any action taken to remove them. all in all though thanks for a great stay Read less
