Amazing resort. Beautiful food, beautiful beach. Came here as an anniversary trip with my husband. We will definitely return at some point. In our opinion we did not feel like we missed out on preferred club and we happy with the service that we got without booking the upgrade package. The only gripe we had were the spa rices as they were very high but other than that this resort is truly paradise. Read less

A wonderful all-inclusive hotel with great food and beautiful beach. The staff were so friendly, seemed truly happy in their work and were always wanting to help. The resort is undergoing some renovation (new pool, bar/ restaurant) but it was never a bother to us. From our room (building 23) we never heard the work. At the time of visiting, some restaurants were merged into one location - they still offered full menu and service (ran the French and Italian restaurants as separate entities but used the same building as breakfast buffet). The food is very good with excellent service. The oriental restaurant (in its own space) is a particular gem. The “grill” restaurant almost undersells itself - it has excellent steaks. The beach is white sand and expansive. The staff worked tirelessly to ensure any seaweed washed up was soon collected. Throughout the hotel, service is superb. Thoroughly recommend! Read less

★★★★★ An Incredible Anniversary Trip to Secrets Maroma We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun. The resort is beautiful, and the beach is simply incredible. It’s easy to understand why Maroma Beach is so highly regarded. The white sand, beautiful water, and overall setting are hard to beat. The food throughout our stay was excellent, and the customer service was truly top-notch. What really made our trip special, however, were the people. A special shout-out to Roberto, our concierge, who went above and beyond for us. He arranged a wonderful anniversary surprise that we will always remember, and when we needed medical attention during our stay, Roberto was extremely attentive and genuinely concerned about making sure we were taken care of. We also want to recognize Wilbur, our beach waiter. He was incredibly friendly, always checking on us and ready to help with anything we needed. His great attitude and service made our days on the beach even more enjoyable. Finally, a huge thank you to Chef Beder, who prepared a special lunch for us that was absolutely incredible and one of the memorable dining experiences of our trip. Secrets Maroma is very fortunate to have people like Roberto, Wilbur, and Chef Beder representing the resort. Their personal attention turned a great vacation into a truly memorable one. We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Secrets Maroma Beach! The resort is stunning, clean, and beautifully maintained, and the rooms are spacious and well-kept. The pools and beach were amazing as well! There was some seaweed on the beach, but that's expected this time of year and didn't take away from our experience. We also never had trouble finding a spot to sit, no matter what time of day. One of my favourite things about this resort was the entertainment program. Each day, our concierge, Francia, who was so lovely and helpful throughout our stay, would send us the schedule, and we were always excited to see what was on the lineup for the day. There were SO many activities each day including bike rides, pool volleyball, kayak tours, pizza making, archery, guacamole lesson, beach volleyball, and so much more. We loved that we could relax whenever we wanted and could also jump into the activities. One of the absolute highlights of this resort, though, was the people!!! I really want to take the time to recognize some of the amazing staff members throughout this review because our stay truly wouldn't have been the same without them. First, I have to give a huge shoutout to Joanna on the entertainment team. We met her on our first day, and it was so lovely seeing her each day and chatting with her. She was so friendly and welcoming and always kept us up to date on the activities happening throughout the day. She is the best!! I also have to give a shoutout to Angel, who brought so much fun and energy to every activity he was part of. He was always making us laugh, and you knew you were going to have a great time if he was there! There were several other members of the entertainment team that were just as wonderful! Isabelle was the sweetest, and we also really enjoyed chatting with Marcelo. I know I'm forgetting a few names, but the entire entertainment team deserves so much credit. They genuinely go out of their way to connect with guests and they made our stay so much more memorable! I also have to recognize the pool servers because they work SO incredibly hard all day to get you everything you need. Before you even finish your first drink, they're already back asking if you need anything else. No matter where you're sitting by the pool or on the beach, you never have to worry about going without a drink or food! Alberto was our server on the first day, and he was awesome! I also have to give a HUGE shoutout to Carrera. He was amazing!! We started purposefully sitting in his section because he was so lovely and always made sure we were taken care of. The food was another highlight of our stay. Whether it was the food by the pool, the breakfast buffet, or the à la carte restaurants, I genuinely don't think I had a single meal I didn't enjoy. My favourite restaurant ended up being the French restaurant. The filet mignon and chicken cordon bleu were absolutely incredible. Both times we visited, we were also surprised with a special dish from the chef in addition to our appetizers, which I thought was such a lovely and personal touch. Every restaurant we visited had incredible servers who were attentive and genuinely committed to making sure we had a great experience. Two people who really stood out to us were Leonardo and Sebastian at the French restaurant. They worked so hard to ensure everything was perfect and went absolutely above and beyond to make our meals memorable. Of course, that isn't to say all of our other servers weren't amazing, because they absolutely were! Now onto the nightlife, I loved the evening entertainment program. After dinner, there was always music in the lobby, followed by a show at the pool/theatre, more live music, and then silent disco or DJ night. There was so much variety we loved it! Eduardo was one of the bartenders at Desires bar for most of the nights we were there, and he was amazing! He remembered our favourite drinks, was always attentive, and consistently put a smile on our faces. And shoutout as well to Estrella at the lobby bar, who was so amazing as well! Long story short, Secrets Maroma Beach is an incredible resort with an amazing team of people who truly make the experience what it is. It has that calm, luxurious atmosphere while still offering so many fun activities and things to do throughout the day and night. Every team member we interacted with helped make our stay special, and it's clear how much effort they put into making sure guests have a great time. We last visited Secrets Maroma 10 years ago. To be truthful, Akumal, Cap Cana and Tulum Casa Zamna are our go toos. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the beach ( long and deep) the number of available loungers and the quick drink service. They worked all day to keep the sargassum at bay. There was very little during our stay. The hotel does have some construction going on, apparently adding another pool and sports bar area as well as remodeling the Mexican, Italian and French restaurants. The French and Italian restaurants were inside of the world cafe at night. The Mexican restaurant was closed. Food was outstanding !!! Entertainment was lacking unless you are a huge football fan, I would certainly watch it at a sports . 2 of the 7 nights we were there, the "main event" were not live shows, they were NFL football nights. Really ? I live shows they did have were good but I could really do without the football. If I wanted that I would certainly watch at a sports bar (under construction).
